The scene was nothing short of chaos. Dawn and Kenny were practically shoved into the makeshift wedding area, which looked suspiciously like Mia and Avery had raided every drawer in the house for decorations. Streamers, tissue paper flowers, and a suspicious number of glittery stickers adorned the room.

Misty raised an eyebrow, gesturing to the bride and groom. “Uh… what exactly is going on here?”

Brock crossed his arms. “Why does this feel like something we weren’t supposed to be part of?”

“I think they’re getting married,” Ash said dumbly, looking between Kenny and Dawn, both of whom wore expressions of utter mortification.

“No, we’re not!” Dawn shrieked, trying to step away, only to be pushed back into place by Mia.

“Oh, yes, you are,” Mia said with a grin that only a mischievous ten-year-old could pull off. “Now, Uncle Kenny, it’s time for your vows!”

Kenny froze. “Wait, what?!

Mia produced a piece of paper from behind her back and thrust it at him. “Don’t worry! I wrote them for you.”

“Kid, I am not saying—”

“Do it, or Avery cries,” Mia threatened, pointing to her younger sister, who was already practicing her biggest puppy dog eyes.

Kenny let out a long groan and took the paper. Clearing his throat, he started to read, though his voice was a mix of horror and reluctant commitment.

“Dawn… ever since we were kids, you’ve been the light of my life. You’re the moon to my stars, the frosting to my cupcake, the—oh, come on!” He shot Mia a glare, but she only smiled sweetly and gestured for him to continue.

Kenny sighed and kept reading. “You make me laugh when I want to cry, and you bring sunshine into the stormiest days. I can’t imagine life without you. Today, I vow to stand by your side through every journey, every battle, and every cup of coffee you spill on me in the morning. I love you.”

The entire room went silent. Misty was biting her lip to stop from laughing, while Drew openly snickered behind May.

Dawn’s face was scarlet. “I… I cannot believe you just said that!” she hissed.

“It wasn’t me! It was her!“ Kenny jabbed a finger in Mia’s direction.

Mia clapped her hands. “Your turn, Aunt Dawn!”

“Oh, no,” Dawn said firmly. “There is no way—”

Mia interrupted, shoving another piece of paper into her hands. “Your turn!”

Dawn looked at the page, her eyes widening as she read the first line. “You’ve got to be kidding me…”

But Avery’s quivering lip forced her to relent. With a resigned sigh, Dawn began reading.

“Kenny, you’re my best friend and my worst nightmare, all rolled into one.” She shot him a glare that softened slightly before she continued. “You challenge me to be better, even when it drives me insane. You’re the only person who knows how to make me smile on my worst days, and somehow, you put up with all my moods.”

Her voice softened despite herself. “I promise to always be your rival, your partner, and your biggest supporter. You’re stuck with me.”

Avery clapped excitedly. “Yay! Now you can kiss!”

Both Kenny and Dawn froze. “Wait, what? No!” they said in unison.

“Yes!” Mia and Avery chorused.

Before they could argue, Mia brought out two actual wedding rings. “Don’t worry. I stole these from Mommy and Daddy’s jewelry box. They’re real!”

“MIA!”

“Just put them on!” Avery said impatiently, clapping her hands.

Reluctantly, Kenny and Dawn exchanged rings, their movements stiff and awkward.

“Now kiss!” Mia commanded, pointing dramatically.

“I am not kissing him,” Dawn said firmly.

“And I’m not kissing her!” Kenny added.

Avery pouted, her eyes filling with tears. “If you don’t kiss, it’s not a real wedding…”

With a collective groan, Kenny and Dawn leaned toward each other, stopping an inch apart. “Let’s just… get this over with,” Kenny muttered.

“Agreed,” Dawn replied.

The “kiss” was barely a brush of their lips, lasting no more than a split second, but it was enough to make Mia and Avery cheer wildly.

“Congratulations! You’re married now!” Mia declared.

Dawn turned to Kenny, her face still bright red. “I am never babysitting with you again.”

“Trust me, the feeling’s mutual.”
