Penguin shipping wedding
Kenny adjusted the pale green vest uncomfortably, his face a mix of bewilderment and dread. "Mia," he began, forcing as much patience into his voice as he could muster, "I don’t think you understand—Dawn and I are not getting married."
Mia stood on a makeshift podium crafted out of overturned boxes and a tablecloth. She looked utterly unbothered, holding a clipboard with a list of detailed instructions. "Uncle Kenny," she said with the air of an exasperated wedding planner dealing with a diva client, "you and Aunt Dawn already agreed. See?" She held up a piece of paper with scribbled crayon marks.
Dawn squinted at it. "That’s not a contract!"
"It’s a promise!" Mia declared. She clapped her hands. "Now, to the vows!"
"Vows?" Kenny echoed, his voice cracking.
"Yes!" Mia chirped, flipping through her clipboard. "Here’s what you say, Uncle Kenny." She cleared her throat dramatically.
Kenny groaned but took the paper she handed him. His eyes widened in horror as he read it. "Mia, I’m not saying this!"
"Yes, you awe," Avery said from the sidelines, her arms crossed like an enforcer.
Kenny shot a desperate look at Dawn. "Help me out here!"
Dawn crossed her arms, equally frustrated. "What’s on my paper?"
Mia handed her a second sheet. Dawn’s eyes scanned the page, her face growing redder with every line. "I’m not saying this either!"
"Yes, you are," Mia said firmly. "Go on, Uncle Kenny! You first!"
Kenny hesitated, but Avery’s pointed glare reminded him he had no choice. With a resigned sigh, he began:
"Dawn, my dearest light, my starlit sky, my reason for breathing—"
Dawn’s jaw dropped. "What?"
"Your beauty rivals the first dawn of spring, and your kindness warms my soul like the summer sun," Kenny continued, his voice dripping with reluctance.
Ash snorted in the background, trying to muffle his laughter. Misty elbowed him hard in the ribs.
"I vow to cherish you, to stand by you, and to protect you from all harm. Even if that harm includes Mia." He glared at Mia, who simply grinned.
Dawn groaned. "This is ridiculous!"
"Nope, it’s wuv!" Avery insisted. "Now you, Aunt Dawn!"
Dawn glared at Kenny as if this were all his fault, then reluctantly looked at her paper. She sighed. "Kenny, my steadfast rock, my guiding star, my constant in a stormy sea—"
Kenny raised a brow. "Oh, really?"
"Your humor brings light to my darkest days, and your bravery inspires me to be my best self," Dawn continued, trying not to gag.
May leaned over to Brock and whispered, "Is it just me, or is this way too romantic?"
Brock nodded, stifling a laugh. "Definitely romantic."
"I vow to support you, laugh with you, and forgive you when you act like a total idiot," Dawn finished, tossing the paper aside. "Happy, Mia?"
Mia clapped enthusiastically. "Beautiful! Now... the rings!"
"What rings?" Kenny asked, but Mia was already pulling out a velvet box.
"Reaw ones," Avery said proudly.
Dawn’s jaw dropped. "You bought wedding rings?"
Mia nodded. "Yup! I used Mommy’s cweedit card!"
Kenny groaned, burying his face in his hands. "This is getting worse by the second."
"Now put them on!" Mia instructed.
With extreme awkwardness, Kenny and Dawn exchanged rings, muttering under their breath about how ridiculous the situation was.
"And nowww..." Mia beamed, holding up her clipboard. "You may kiss the bride!"
"No," Kenny said flatly.
"Absolutely not," Dawn added.
Avery stepped forward with an unamused look. "Do it, or else."
"Or else what?" Kenny challenged.
Avery held up another piece of paper. It was covered in poorly drawn hearts and said, "Kenny and Dawn kissing FOREVER!"
Dawn sighed. "This cannot get any worse."
"Oh, it can," Ash mumbled, earning another elbow from Misty.
"Fine!" Kenny grumbled. He leaned toward Dawn awkwardly, and she leaned back just as awkwardly. Their lips brushed for the briefest, most uncomfortable second imaginable.
"There! Happy?" Dawn snapped.
"Yay!" Mia and Avery cheered in unison.
Meanwhile, Ash, Brock, and Misty erupted into uncontrollable laughter, while May and Drew exchanged amused smirks.
Kenny sighed, straightening his vest. "We’re never babysitting again."
"Agreed," Dawn muttered.
Piplup, who had been silently observing the chaos, facepalmed for the third time that day.
