Penguin shipping wedding

Dawn and Kenny stood frozen in the middle of the makeshift wedding ceremony that Mia and Avery had orchestrated in record time. The backyard was adorned with mismatched decorations—streamers in random colors, plastic flowers, and even a banner that read "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" with "BIRTHDAY" crossed out and replaced with "WEDDING" in shaky crayon writing.

Dawn glared at Mia, who was walking up to them with a clipboard in hand, looking very much like a wedding planner. Avery trailed behind her, clutching what looked suspiciously like real wedding rings.

"All right," Mia said, adjusting her pretend glasses. "Places, everyone! Uncle Kenny, Aunt Dawn, stand closer. You're ruining the aesthetic."

Kenny raised a hand. "Mia, don't you think this is a bit—"

"Shhhh!" Mia interrupted. "You're about to exchange vows. I've already written them out for you since clearly neither of you planned ahead. You're welcome."

Dawn and Kenny exchanged horrified glances.

"Wait, wait," Dawn stammered. "Vows?!"

Mia nodded solemnly. "Yes. True love must be declared! Avery, bring the rings!"

Avery skipped forward, holding a pillow with two sparkling rings. "Here, Mia!"

Dawn squinted at the rings. "Mia, where did you get those?"

"Grandma's jewelry box," Mia said casually. "Now hush, Aunt Dawn. Kenny, you go first."

"Why me?!" Kenny protested.

"Because you're the groom!" Mia snapped. "Read this!" She shoved a piece of paper into his hands.

Kenny glanced at it, his face paling. "Mia, no. I am not saying this."

Mia crossed her arms. "Say it, or I'll tell everyone you still sleep with a stuffed Buizel."

Kenny groaned. "Fine." He cleared his throat and reluctantly read:

"Dawn, from the moment I met you, I knew you were special. Your smile lights up my darkest days, and your laugh is the melody of my life. I promise to stand by your side, through every storm and every rainbow, because you are my heart, my home, and my forever."

The crowd of "guests"—which consisted of Ash, Misty, Brock, Drew, and May—burst into applause.

"Wow, Kenny!" Brock teased. "Didn't know you had it in you."

Kenny glared at him. "I didn't write that."

Dawn looked like she wanted to melt into the ground. "I can't believe this," she muttered, before Mia shoved another piece of paper into her hands.

"Your turn, Aunt Dawn!"

Dawn grimaced but began to read:

"Kenny, you're my best friend, my anchor, and my partner in crime. You make me laugh when I want to cry and believe in me when I doubt myself. With you, every moment feels like an adventure, and I can't imagine my life without you. I vow to cherish you, support you, and love you, always."

Ash was nearly falling out of his chair with laughter, while Misty wiped an imaginary tear from her eye. "Beautiful," she said with mock seriousness.

"Now the rings!" Mia declared. Avery handed them over, beaming with pride.

"Mia, this has gone too far—" Dawn started, but Mia cut her off.

"Shush! Avery, say your line."

Avery puffed out her chest. "By the power vested in me by the Big Sister Council, I now pronounce you husband and wife! You may now kiss!"

Dawn and Kenny froze. "Nope," Kenny said immediately. "Not happening."

Avery pouted. "But you have to! It's the rules!"

"We're not—" Dawn started, but Avery gave her the saddest puppy eyes imaginable.

Kenny sighed. "Fine. But just the cheek!"

They leaned awkwardly toward each other, both grimacing, and gave the world's fastest, most reluctant peck on the cheek. The crowd erupted into cheers, and Dawn and Kenny stepped back, both glaring daggers at Mia.

Mia, however, looked entirely too pleased. "There we go! All done. Now you just have to wait ten months for Aunt Dawn to have a baby named Denny and a girl named Fawn!"

"WHAT?!" Dawn and Kenny shouted in unison.

Mia shrugged. "That’s how weddings work, right? You get married, then you get babies. Denny and Fawn! Cute, huh?"

Dawn clutched her head. "Mia, that's not how this works!"

Kenny looked equally panicked. "Who told you this?!"

"Avery did," Mia said with a smug smile.

Dawn glared at Avery, who was now pretending to be very interested in a blade of grass. "Oh, she’s in so much trouble."

Chaos erupted as Kenny tried to explain basic biology to an unimpressed Mia, while Dawn chased Avery around the backyard, yelling about boundaries. Meanwhile, Ash leaned over to Brock. "Best wedding I've ever been to."

"Same," Brock said, popping a handful of snacks into his mouth. "Wonder when the honeymoon is."
