" Hey Dawn! What's up?"
Dawg groaned. " Kenny, I need help with my nieces."
" Okay, I'm coming!"
" Wait, you're not gonna tease me?*
Kenny grinned. " I'll tease you in front of the kids."
Dawn groaned.
When Kenny stepped into the house, he ducked as a block soared through the sky
" Avery! Stop that!" Dres scolded, then waved at her boy. " Hi Kenny!"
" Wook, Mia!" Avery yelled, pointing at Drew. " It's Aunt Dawn's husband!"
Kenny blinked, and Drew choked on her breath. " What?!"
Averh gave an innocent smile. " Yeah! Mommy say when two people wike eat oder, dey mawy!"
" Did they say that?" Dawn's asked with a dark expression . " Your mom is in big trouble."
Mia, Avery's ten year old sister, looked up from her tablet. " Hmmmm...." She said, surveying Kenny and Daen. " No, this will not do."
Dawn blinked. " What will not do?"
Mia ignored. " Aunt Dawn, go into that bathroom._ she said, pointing to one. " And uncle Kenny, the other."
" But wh-"
Avery shot Dawn a look, and a sweatdrop appeared on her head. " Okay okay...."
When they came out, they blinked and stared at one another.
Dawn was wearing a pale blue gown with a pink veil. Kenny was wearing a white starched shirt with a pale green vest
" Uh.... You look nice?" Kennt offered.
Dawn gave him a look " you don't look half bad yourself."
" Hey!" He exclaimed. But before he could say another word, Mia came in.
" Ah, good. You two are ready. Come on, the guests are waiting."
" What are the guests for?* Dawn asked.
" Your wedding."
" OUR WEDDING?!" they yelled.
But before they could say anything else, Lily had already thrown them out.
When Dawn stood, the first thing she saw was Ash, Misty, Drew, Brock, and May confused and dressed in fancy attire.
" Uh..... Who's the wedding for?" Misty asked, confused.
Dawn and Kenny stood frozen, both in their ridiculous wedding attire, as Mia clapped her hands authoritatively.
"Alright, everyone! Take your seats!" Mia announced, pointing to rows of chairs lined up in the backyard. Somehow, she'd managed to drag all their friends into this charade. Ash scratched his head, Misty looked both amused and confused, and Drew was already halfway through covering his face.
"Mia," Dawn said through gritted teeth, "can we talk about this?"
"No talking," Mia replied, wagging her finger. "The bride and groom don't get cold feet. Now march!"
Avery giggled as she carried a basket of flower petals and started tossing them dramatically. "Wook, Mia! I'm da fwower girl!"
"You're doing amazing, sweetie," Mia encouraged, snapping her fingers at Kenny and Dawn. "Move it, lovebirds!"
"This is insane," Kenny muttered as he begrudgingly walked to the makeshift altar. "How does a ten-year-old orchestrate all this?"
"I ask myself that every day," Dawn hissed under her breath.
When they reached the altar, Mia cleared her throat. "Now, Uncle Kenny, take out the vows I gave you."
"Wait, vows?!" Kenny paled, fumbling as Mia handed him a piece of paper with neat, sparkly handwriting. "This is... no, this is too much."
"Read it!" Mia ordered, her eyes narrowing.
Kenny groaned, holding up the paper like it was a death sentence. "Fine... uh, 'Dawn, from the moment we met, you’ve been the sunshine in my life. Your laugh is like music to my soul, your eyes brighter than any star in the sky. Every moment with you feels like a dream I never want to wake up from.'"
"Whoa, Kenny," Ash whispered, stifling a laugh. "Didn't know you were such a poet."
"Shut up!" Kenny snapped, his ears turning red. "I didn't write this!"
Misty smirked. "Sure you didn’t."
Dawn, meanwhile, looked horrified. "Mia, I am not saying these—"
"Oh, yes, you are," Mia interrupted, handing Dawn her own set of vows.
Dawn reluctantly read aloud, glaring at Mia the whole time. "Kenny, you’re the anchor that keeps me steady, the light that guides me when I’m lost. With you, I feel safe, loved, and like I can conquer anything. I can’t imagine life without you.’"
Brock leaned over to Drew. "This is getting way too intense."
Drew groaned, his face buried in his hands. "I can’t believe I’m witnessing this."
Mia beamed. "Perfect! Now, for the rings."
"Rings?!" Dawn and Kenny exclaimed in unison as Mia revealed two sparkling wedding bands from a small box.
"Where did you even get those?!" Dawn demanded.
"I have my ways," Mia said smugly, slipping them into Kenny's and Dawn's hands. "Now, exchange rings."
"You’ve got to be kidding me," Kenny grumbled as he awkwardly slid the ring onto Dawn's finger.
"This is so awkward," Dawn muttered, doing the same for Kenny.
"Now for the best part!" Mia announced, clapping her hands. "Uncle Kenny, you may kiss Aunt Dawn!"
Both froze. "No way," they said together.
Avery pouted. "But you hafta! It's the rules!"
"We don’t care about the rules!" Kenny exclaimed.
"Mia, please—" Dawn started.
Mia crossed her arms. "Do it, or I’m telling everyone you backed out of your own wedding!"
The two exchanged horrified looks. Finally, with a defeated groan, Kenny leaned forward awkwardly, Dawn doing the same. The kiss was quick and stiff, lasting less than a second.
"Ugh," Drew groaned louder. "Make it stop."
"Yay! They’re married!" Avery cheered, tossing more petals.
Ash, Misty, Brock, and the rest burst into applause, half laughing and half mortified at what they’d just witnessed. Kenny and Dawn stood there, their faces bright red, silently vowing revenge on Mia for the most awkward day of their lives.
"Now," Mia said with a satisfied smile, "let's get to the reception!"
"Reception?!" Dawn and Kenny yelled, but Mia was already dragging them to the next stage of her elaborate, chaotic plan.
