In the Palm of my hand
The chaos was palpable as Mew continued its onslaught. Wisty held her shield up against the relentless attacks, sweat dripping down her forehead. The energy of the battle crackled in the air, and everyone watching was torn between awe and panic.
Just then, Amaranth's voice crackled through the communicator.
"What's going on over there?! The energy readings are through the roof!"
Gary fumbled to respond, gripping his Pokédex tightly.
"It's Wisty. She's trying to de-evilize Mew, and honestly, it's pure madness!"
Amaranth groaned.
"Of course she is. Keep me updated!"
Meanwhile, Horace was pacing back and forth, flailing his arms.
"She's going to get herself killed! What is she even doing?! Shouldn't we stop this?!"
Quillon crossed his arms, though his voice betrayed his concern.
"If she doesn't get out of there soon, she is going to die. This is insanity."
Gary sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"That's Wisty for you. She doesn't back down. Ever."
Mew cackled and launched a barrage of attacks-Heatwave, Water Gun, Scald, Vine Whip-all in rapid succession. Wisty staggered but held firm, her shield barely withstanding the hits.
Chikorita growled, stepping forward.
"Chikaaaaa!"
Wisty noticed immediately and spun around.
"No, Chikorita! Stay back! I told you all not to interfere!"
Chikorita hesitated, its leaf quivering, but it reluctantly stepped back, glaring daggers at Mew.
Horace yelled, waving his arms.
"She's going to get fried! Someone do something!"
Mew smirked and launched a powerful Hyper Beam directly at Wisty. She braced herself, shield in hand, but the force sent her flying backward. Her scream echoed as she was hurled off the cliff and into the abyss below.
"WHAAAAAT WAS THAT FOR?!" Wisty's voice trailed off as she disappeared into the clouds.
Gary slapped a hand to his forehead.
"Oh dear..."
Quillon stared in disbelief.
"She just got tossed off a cliff, and you're saying 'oh dear'?! What is wrong with you people?!"
Moments later, Altaria swooped down again, emerging from the mist with Wisty clinging to its back. She was disheveled but very much alive.
Wisty hopped off and dusted herself off.
"Thanks, Altaria. I owe you one."
Altaria cooed softly as Wisty turned back to the battlefield, her eyes blazing with determination.
Gary shook his head.
"I think she's evolved into a Primeape. She's unstoppable."
Quillon blinked, astonished.
"She climbed back up and is still going? This is... something else."
Mew hovered in the air, launching a barrage of Solar Beams, Shadow Balls, and Psychic Blasts. Wisty dodged some, absorbed others with her shield, and occasionally just took the hits head-on, staggering but refusing to back down.
"Mew!" Wisty shouted, her voice carrying over the battlefield. "This isn't you! You're stronger than this darkness! Fight it!"
Horace, however, was losing it. He grabbed Gary by the shoulders, shaking him.
"She's going to get killed! Why aren't we stopping her?! This is insane!"
Gary pried Horace's hands off and sighed.
"Because Wisty doesn't stop. She doesn't give up. Trust me, I've tried."
Suddenly, Mew used Vine Whip, grabbing Wisty by the legs and hurling her across the battlefield. She crashed into the ground with a groan but immediately got back up.
"WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!" Wisty yelled, her voice carrying an almost comical indignation.
Quillon watched in amazement.
"She's insane. Absolutely insane."
Chikorita finally snapped.
"Chikaaaaaaaaa!" it screamed, launching a surprise Razor Leaf at Mew.
Wisty turned, glaring.
"CHIKORITA! I SAID STAY BACK!"
Chikorita growled, refusing to move. Its leaves glowed as it prepared another attack.
Gary sighed.
"Well, you can't say her Pokémon aren't loyal."
As the battle raged on, Gary's communicator beeped again. His grandfather's voice came through, sounding both frantic and intrigued.
"Gary! The energy readings are incredible! What on earth is happening?!"
Gary glanced at the battlefield where Wisty was dodging attacks like her life depended on it-which it did.
"Uh... let's just say Wisty is in the middle of something. I'll explain later."
Oak sighed.
"Just don't let her destroy the ecosystem."
Back on the battlefield, Wisty squared off with Mew once again, raising her shield.
"Enough is enough, Mew. Either you come to your senses, or we're doing this the hard way!"
Mew smirked, its body glowing with dark energy. The fight was far from over.
Gary tapped on his communicator, switching it to video mode. The screen lit up, revealing Professor Oak's concerned face.
"Gary, what's the situation? The energy readings here are off the charts-"
Before Gary could answer, Wisty, the eight-year-old whirlwind of chaos, charged straight at Mew. With an unrelenting war cry, she grabbed the legendary Pokémon mid-air.
"YOU'VE HAD THIS COMING, MEW!" she screamed, muscles straining as she swung Mew around like a rag doll.
The entire group stood frozen, jaws dropping in unison.
"Wha-WHAT IS SHE DOING?!" Goh shrieked, pointing at the spectacle.
"Did she just-grab Mew?!" Quillon stammered, his voice rising in disbelief.
Before anyone could stop her, Wisty YEETED Mew with all her might straight into a rock wall. The force of the throw left a crater in the stone as dust and debris erupted into the air.
Gary's jaw hung open as he stared at the screen.
"Uh... Professor Oak... I think we're going to need a new plan."
Oak blinked several times, his hands slipping down the phone.
"Did she just... THROW Mew into a wall?!"
Horace was trembling, gripping Quillon's arm like a lifeline.
"She's eight. EIGHT. How-what-WHY?!"
Quillon was no better, his eyes wide as saucers.
"This is... this is something straight out of a nightmare."
Mew slowly slid down the rock wall, landing on the ground with an unceremonious thud. For a moment, everything was silent.
Then Mew groaned, shaking its head as if to clear it.
"Mew...?"
Wisty dusted off her hands, glaring at the legendary Pokémon.
"That's what you get for messing with my team."
Gary finally found his voice, though it came out shaky.
"Wisty, what did you just DO?"
She turned to face him, completely unbothered.
"What? It's not like I hurt her or anything."
"YOU THREW A LEGENDARY POKÉMON INTO A ROCK WALL!" Goh yelled, practically pulling at his hair.
"Yeah, and?" Wisty shrugged. "She was being rude."
Professor Oak's voice broke through the communicator.
"Gary, I've seen a lot in my time, but I'm pretty sure that child is more dangerous than half the Pokémon in the wild."
Gary sighed, rubbing his temples.
"Trust me, Gramps. I know."
As Mew slowly got back to its feet, Wisty crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow.
"Well? You ready to stop being evil, or do I have to throw you again?"
Everyone collectively facepalmed as Mew blinked at the girl, visibly confused and slightly terrified.
