900 foot ghost
" OLD MAN OUTTA MY WAAAAAAAAAAAY!"
Ash stood up quickly as Wisty ran into the classroom, screaming bloody murder.
" Wisty what happened?!"
" WHAT DO YOU THINK?!" Wisty shrieked back.
" EVEVEVEVEVEVEVEVEVEVCEVE EVEVEVE!!!!"
" WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!"
" EEVEEEEEEE!"
" SO YOU'RE SAYING -"
" EEVEE!!!"
Wisty took Ash's old Pokedex out and pressed a button.
" Ghost Pokemon are weak against Dark types."
" Eevee, Umbreon form, now."
" Eevee!"
Eevee backflipped and turned into Umbreon.
" Go out with Houndour and both of you use Dark Pulse, got it? With enough luck we might be able to defeat whatever it is. Got it?"
" Houndour!!"
" Umbre!"
The two dark types ran out and Wisty sighed in relief. " Togepi did you know what that thing was?"
" Toge?" The small egg Pokemon said from her back.
" What about you Chikerita?"
" Chikaaa."
" Pikachu!!!"
Wisty followed Pikachu with her eyes as he jumped off Ash's shoulder and hopped onto Wisty's, rubbing her cheek. " Chaaa!*
" Hi Pikachu! How are you?"
" Chaaaa!!"
" Hey, Wisty?"
Wisty looked at her brother. " Hmmm?"
" Why'd you run in here like a maniac?"
" Oh, no reason." Wisty said sarcastically. " Because I felt like it."
" Oh. Cool."
Wisty groaned before an idea struck into her head. " Pikachu?" She asked as she turned to the electric Pokemon.
" Pika?"
" Do you know Zippy Zap?"
" Chu?" Pikachu tilted his head
Wisty grinned. " No need to worry! I'll teach you!"
Dawn leaned in to Brock. " She just stole my line."
" She does that a lot."
" Ready?" Wisty asked Pikachu as she stood on all four.
" Cha!"
Wisty looked at Ash, who was gathered with all the campers. He nodded, and Wisty nodded back.
" Wisty, use Zippy Zap!"
Wisty charged at the opponent ( a cardboard box) and did a skull bash at it.
It ripped in half.
Then she landed on all fours and turned to Pikachu. " Your turn."
" Pika!"
" Ready?"
" Chu!"
" Pikachu, use Zippy Zap!" Wisty commanded.
" Pika Pika...." He said as he charged.
" PIKA!" He yelled as he did the skull bash.
Wisty grabbed Pikachu and grinned as she turned to the door. " Great! Now use that on a 900 foot tall ghost."
" Pika... PIKA CHU?!"
" Oh, don't be silly." Wisty said as she walked out of the room, holding the squirming rodent. " You'll be fine."
Ash looked at Gary, who shrugged then clapped his hands. " Okay campers back to the classroom."
" ... And that's how you- HOLD ON A SECOND!"
Ash blinked. " What happened?"
" Didn't Wisty say something about a 900 foot ghost a few minutes back?"
Ash blinked. " Did she?"
" I think she did." A camper spoke up.
Ash's stomach sank as the camper's words sank in. He stood up abruptly, looking at Gary. "She did say something about that, didn’t she?"
Gary scratched his head. "I thought she was exaggerating. You know how Wisty is."
"Exaggerating or not, she just walked out with Pikachu talking about taking on a 900-foot ghost." Ash groaned. "We can’t just ignore that!"
Brock, who had been quietly observing, nodded in agreement. "We’d better go after her. If it really is something dangerous, she’s going to need backup."
Dawn jumped to her feet. "And maybe someone to stop her from doing anything crazy."
"That ship has sailed," Ash muttered under his breath as he grabbed his hat. "Let’s go."
Wisty was standing in the middle of a clearing, Pikachu on her shoulder and Umbreon and Houndour flanking her. She squinted up at the sky, where ominous storm clouds were swirling unnaturally. A deep, echoing roar rumbled through the forest.
"Yep," Wisty muttered to herself, her voice carrying a mix of excitement and apprehension. "That’s definitely not a normal ghost Pokémon."
"Umbreon!" her Pokémon growled, its rings glowing faintly in the dim light.
"Pika!" Pikachu exclaimed, looking less confident than usual.
"Okay, team, we’ve got this!" Wisty cheered. "Pikachu, Zippy Zap! Umbreon, Dark Pulse! Houndour, Flamethrower! Hit it hard and fast!"
The three Pokémon launched their attacks toward the towering shadow that was beginning to take form in the storm clouds. The air crackled as the energy struck the shape, momentarily illuminating it—a massive, spectral figure with glowing red eyes and long, clawed hands.
"Ohhhh boy," Wisty whispered, her grin faltering. "It’s even bigger than I thought."
The ghost let out a bone-chilling screech, sending shockwaves through the clearing. Wisty staggered but held her ground. "No retreat, no surrender! Keep attacking!"
The Pokémon obeyed, firing another volley of attacks, but the ghost seemed unphased. Its red eyes focused on Wisty, and it raised a clawed hand, energy gathering at its tips.
"Uh-oh," Wisty said, backing up slightly. "That doesn’t look good—"
Before the ghost could strike, Ash and the others burst onto the scene.
"WISTY!" Ash yelled. "What are you doing?!"
"Oh, you know," Wisty called back, barely dodging a swipe of the ghost’s claws. "Just saving the world, as usual!"
Gary groaned. "This is so not usual!"
Brock immediately assessed the situation. "We need a strategy! That thing’s too strong for normal attacks."
"Noted!" Wisty shouted, narrowly avoiding another attack. She turned to her Pokémon. "Change of plans! Houndour, Smokescreen! Umbreon, Protect!"
Houndour spewed a thick cloud of smoke into the clearing, giving the group a moment to regroup. Umbreon leaped in front of Wisty, creating a shimmering barrier as the ghost’s next attack crashed down.
"Do you have any idea what this thing is?!" Ash asked, running up to Wisty.
"Not a clue!" Wisty admitted cheerfully. "But it’s huge, angry, and ghostly, so I figured, why not take it down?"
"That’s not a plan!" Gary yelled, looking like he was on the verge of pulling his hair out.
"Better than standing around doing nothing!" Wisty shot back. She turned to her Pokémon. "Let’s finish this! Everyone, full power—"
Before she could give the command, the ghost let out another ear-piercing screech and unleashed a wave of dark energy that sent everyone flying. Wisty hit the ground hard, coughing as she tried to sit up.
"Wisty!" Ash ran to her side. "Are you okay?"
She gave him a thumbs up, wincing. "I’ve been worse."
"That thing is going to take us all out if we don’t come up with a real plan," Brock said, pulling out a Poké Ball. "We need to work together."
Ash nodded, his face serious. "Everyone, let’s give it everything we’ve got!" He turned to Pikachu. "You ready, buddy?"
"Pika!" Pikachu replied, determination in its eyes.
As the group prepared for an all-out attack, the ghost loomed larger, its red eyes glowing brighter. The battle was far from over.
Wisty stood up, brushing dirt off her clothes. She cracked her neck and flashed a cocky grin at Ash and the others. "You know what? Forget teamwork. I’ve got a better idea."
Ash blinked. "What are you talking about?"
Wisty pulled out a gleaming, razor-sharp sword from seemingly nowhere, much to everyone’s alarm. "You’re all thinking small. This thing’s big, right? So we fight it like a big problem—with big energy!"
"Where did you even get that?!" Gary shouted, pointing at the sword.
"Don’t ask questions you don’t want answers to!" Wisty said, flipping the blade in her hand like she’d been training for this moment her whole life. "I’ve got this. Cover me!"
Before anyone could stop her, Wisty charged straight at the towering ghost, her sword glinting in the eerie light.
"WISTY!" Ash yelled, running after her. "Are you insane?!"
"Always!" Wisty called back, not breaking stride.
The ghost noticed her approach and let out a low, rumbling growl. It swiped a massive claw in her direction, but Wisty dodged with surprising agility, her movements swift and calculated. She leaped onto a nearby rock, launching herself toward the ghost's semi-corporeal body.
"This is so stupid!" Gary groaned, but he and the others scrambled to back her up. Brock sent out Steelix, Dawn commanded Piplup, and Ash’s Pikachu bolted into action.
"Steelix, bind its leg!" Brock shouted.
"Piplup, Bubble Beam!" Dawn added.
The coordinated attacks distracted the ghost just enough for Wisty to get close. With a feral yell, she swung the sword at the creature’s glowing core, slicing through the mist-like energy surrounding it.
The ghost roared in pain, its form flickering as if destabilized. Wisty landed on her feet, panting but grinning triumphantly. "See? Told you it’d work!"
"It didn’t work, Wisty!" Ash shouted. "You just made it angrier!"
The ghost surged with power, its red eyes blazing as it reared back for a devastating counterattack. Wisty’s grin faltered. "Okay, maybe I didn’t think this through."
"YA THINK?!" Gary yelled.
The ghost unleashed a massive energy wave, and it seemed all hope was lost—until Pikachu leapt in front of Wisty, electricity crackling around its small body.
"Pikachu, Thunderbolt!" Ash commanded.
"Piiiiikaaaaaa-CHUUUUUU!" Pikachu unleashed a blinding surge of electricity, colliding with the ghost’s attack and neutralizing it.
Wisty stood frozen, her sword still in hand. She looked down at Pikachu, who turned to her with a smug "Pika!"
"Thanks, buddy," she muttered. Then, with a sheepish grin, she turned to the others. "Okay, maybe teamwork isn’t so bad after all."
Ash sighed heavily. "Next time, leave the sword at home."
Wisty just shrugged. "Where’s the fun in that?"
