900 foot ghost
" OLD MAN OUTTA MY WAAAAAAAAAAAY!"
Ash stood up quickly as Wisty ran into the classroom, screaming bloody murder.
" Wisty what happened?!"
" WHAT DO YOU THINK?!" Wisty shrieked back.
" EVEVEVEVEVEVEVEVEVEVCEVE EVEVEVE!!!!"
" WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!"
" EEVEEEEEEE!"
" SO YOU'RE SAYING -"
" EEVEE!!!"
Wisty took Ash's old Pokedex out and pressed a button.
" Ghost Pokemon are weak against Dark types."
" Eevee, Umbreon form, now."
" Eevee!"
Eevee backflipped and turned into Umbreon.
" Go out with Houndour and both of you use Dark Pulse, got it? With enough luck we might be able to defeat whatever it is. Got it?"
" Houndour!!"
" Umbre!"
The two dark types ran out and Wisty sighed in relief. " Togepi did you know what that thing was?"
" Toge?" The small egg Pokemon said from her back.
" What about you Chikerita?"
" Chikaaa."
" Pikachu!!!"
Wisty followed Pikachu with her eyes as he jumped off Ash's shoulder and hopped onto Wisty's, rubbing her cheek. " Chaaa!*
" Hi Pikachu! How are you?"
" Chaaaa!!"
" Hey, Wisty?"
Wisty looked at her brother. " Hmmm?"
" Why'd you run in here like a maniac?"
" Oh, no reason." Wisty said sarcastically. " Because I felt like it."
" Oh. Cool."
Wisty groaned before an idea struck into her head. " Pikachu?" She asked as she turned to the electric Pokemon.
" Pika?"
" Do you know Zippy Zap?"
" Chu?" Pikachu tilted his head
Wisty grinned. " No need to worry! I'll teach you!"
Dawn leaned in to Brock. " She just stole my line."
" She does that a lot."
" Ready?" Wisty asked Pikachu as she stood on all four.
" Cha!"
Wisty looked at Ash, who was gathered with all the campers. He nodded, and Wisty nodded back.
" Wisty, use Zippy Zap!"
Wisty charged at the opponent ( a cardboard box) and did a skull bash at it.
It ripped in half.
Then she landed on all fours and turned to Pikachu. " Your turn."
" Pika!"
" Ready?"
" Chu!"
" Pikachu, use Zippy Zap!" Wisty commanded.
" Pika Pika...." He said as he charged.
" PIKA!" He yelled as he did the skull bash.
Wisty grabbed Pikachu and grinned as she turned to the door. " Great! Now use that on a 900 foot tall ghost."
" Pika... PIKA CHU?!"
" Oh, don't be silly." Wisty said as she walked out of the room, holding the squirming rodent. " You'll be fine."
As Wisty marched out of the classroom with Pikachu squirming in her arms, Ash quickly got up to follow. Dawn and Brock exchanged glances before chasing after her too, with the other campers trailing behind.
"900-foot ghost?!" Ash yelled, catching up to his sister. "Wisty, what did you do this time?"
"Why do you automatically assume I did something?!" Wisty shot back, still holding onto Pikachu like a determined mother carrying an unruly toddler.
"Because every time something insane happens, you're involved!" Ash replied, exasperated.
"Well, excuse me for trying to save the camp!" Wisty retorted.
Dawn caught up, panting. "Wisty, can you at least explain what's going on?"
Wisty finally stopped and turned to face the group. "Fine! So, this morning, I was minding my own business, trying to teach Togepi how to do a triple backflip-"
"Why would Togepi need to do that?!" Dawn interrupted.
"Details, details," Wisty waved her off. "Anyway, this giant ghost Pokémon showed up out of nowhere and started wreaking havoc! I tried battling it with Chikorita and Togepi, but it ate their attacks like they were a warm meal! So, I figured Dark-types might have a better chance."
"And the 900-foot part?" Brock asked skeptically.
Wisty huffed. "Okay, maybe I exaggerated a little, but it's still huge! Like... 20 feet tall! And it has glowing red eyes! And it's floating near the woods!"
Ash groaned, running a hand through his hair. "This is just great. And you're seriously dragging Pikachu into this?"
"Of course! He just learned Zippy Zap; he'll be fine!" Wisty grinned. Pikachu, however, did not look convinced.
"Chu..." Pikachu whimpered, looking at Ash for rescue.
Before anyone could argue further, an eerie howl echoed from the direction of the woods. The air grew colder, and the group instinctively huddled closer together.
"That's it," Brock said firmly. "We're all going together. No one's handling this alone, Wisty."
Wisty crossed her arms. "Fine, but I'm the one leading the charge. Got it?"
"Noted," Ash said with a resigned sigh. "Let's just get this over with before things get worse."
The group moved cautiously toward the woods. As they approached, the eerie glow of red eyes became visible through the mist. The massive ghost Pokémon let out another unearthly wail, and Pikachu clung to Wisty's shoulder like his life depended on it.
"All right!" Wisty yelled, pointing dramatically at the ghost. "Umbreon, Houndour, use Dark Pulse!"
"Umbreeee!"
"Houndoooour!"
The two Dark-types unleashed twin waves of dark energy at the ghost. The attacks hit their mark, causing the ghost to momentarily recoil, but it quickly reformed and let out a roar.
"Pikachu, Zippy Zap!" Wisty commanded.
"Pi... Pika... PIKACHUUUU!" Pikachu leapt from Wisty's shoulder, sparks flying as he launched a lightning-fast attack at the ghost.
The ghost shuddered, then swirled into an even darker, more menacing form.
"Uh... Wisty?" Ash said nervously. "I think you made it angrier."
"Good!" Wisty grinned, completely unfazed. "That means it's working!"
The ghost suddenly sent a wave of shadowy energy toward the group. Brock shoved everyone aside just in time, but the force of the blast knocked Wisty's Poké Ball belt off her waist.
"Chika!" Chikorita popped out of her ball and immediately fired a Razor Leaf at the ghost.
"Chikorita, no! I said stay back!" Wisty yelled, scrambling to her feet.
The ghost retaliated with a Shadow Ball, sending Chikorita flying.
"Chikaaaaa!" the Grass-type cried.
"CHIKORITA!" Wisty screamed, running to catch her Pokémon.
"She's going to get herself killed!" Brock yelled.
"Not if we help!" Ash declared. "Pikachu, Thunderbolt!"
"PIKA-CHUUUUU!" Pikachu fired a powerful Thunderbolt at the ghost, stunning it just long enough for Wisty to grab Chikorita and retreat.
"Are you insane?!" Dawn scolded. "You can't just charge at it like that!"
Wisty grinned, holding Chikorita close. "Insanity is just another word for bravery, Dawn."
The ghost let out a final, ear-splitting roar before dissipating into the mist. For a moment, everything was silent.
"...Is it gone?" Dawn asked cautiously.
"I think so," Brock said, scanning the area.
Wisty stood triumphantly, still cradling Chikorita. "And that's how you handle a ghost problem, folks."
Ash shook his head, smiling despite himself. "You're unbelievable, Wisty."
"Thank you!" Wisty said cheerfully, completely ignoring the exasperation in her brother's voice.
"Let's just hope there's no bigger problem waiting for us," Brock muttered.
