Song: "The Holy" (Deltarune: Chapter 1) - Toby Fox

Once Sara returned to the room she, Nemona, Scarlet and Penny are sharing together, she walked over and flopped back on her bed as she sighed, still trying to comprehend all of this and the sudden new information she was told just a few minutes ago.

"So, how'd the mom-and-daughter talk go?" Nemona curiously asked as she looked at Sara.

"Very...uh...weird." Sara answered.

"Weird? How?" Scarlet asked next.

Looking at her friends, Sara sighed a little again for a moment.

"Can you three keep it a secret from Arven?" She asked them, while sitting herself up on the bed.

"Sure." All of them answered in unison.

"Okay...Just know you're in for a huge, unexpected surprise, but...." Sara began before she told Scarlet, Penny and Nemona what her mother revealed to her.

When she was finished, all of them had the exact same reaction, that Sara also had earlier.

"Wait...WHAT?!?!" They all went in shock and disbelief.

"I know, but, you heard me right..." Sara nods. "That's what mom told me. And just by looking at her by the face and in the eyes, she was very serious about this."

For a few minutes, Nemona, Scarlet and Penny remained silent, still in shock over this, before they regained their composure.

"Well, that was definitely quite a surprise, just like you said..." Nemona begins, being the first to break the silence.

"I told you so." Sara replies.

"Getting a better look at you, it all makes a whole lot more sense now. Before, I couldn't understand why you resembled so much of Professor Sada when I met you." Scarlet mentions, before smiling a bit at the same time.

"Now that I know, that's actually kinda pretty cool...And I think that makes you really lucky too."

"How am I lucky?! Everyone at school keeps telling me how lucky I am..." Sara went as she shook her head wearily.

"I dunno. You just are! It also makes you luckier even more since you inherited both of your mother's cute looks and hair!!" Nemona giggles.

"Nemona, not you too..." She groans a bit.

Looking over, Sara noticed Penny had her phone pointing at her for a moment

"Penny, what are you doing?" Sara asks next.

"Getting your genetic data by scanning your face. And looking at the results, just to make sure, it definitely confirms it...Not only are you their daughter, but you also inherited both of Professors Sada and Kira's genius genes." Penny answered simply, before showing a diagram, visually comparing her and the professors.

Looking at it, Nemona and Scarlet had to agree.

"Wow! So, we have another girl genius attending Naranja! First, it's Professors Sada and Kira when they were our age, and now it's Penny and you!" Nemona grins.

"Okay, can you three stop sounding like my mom's lying? Yeah, I know she's an AI and AIs aren't really perfect at anything along with them being more likely and prone to making mistakes, much worse than us, but still!" Sara went before facepalming herself.

"Sorry...Just had to be sure." Penny replies while putting her rotom phone away.

"Nevermind...We should get some rest. Like mum and Sada-mama had said, we've all had it rough before and after coming here." Sara rolls her eyes, then lays herself down on the bed next, once she takes her glasses and black high-top shoes off.

"Good night, guys."

"Night, Sara..." Scarlet replies.

Then Sara dozed off to sleep as she made herself comfortable and relaxed.

Sara's Dream

Location: ???

Opening her eyes, the first thing Sara noticed was she found herself back in the present and in Research Station No. 4, located almost at the very bottom of Area Zero.

Close, but, not quite.

Looking up and around, everything was dark inside for a moment, until the room suddenly lit up dimly and made Sara shield her eyes for a moment, revealing someone standing in front of a set of computers nearby.

After her eyes adjusted to the light, Sara lowered her hand and gazed up at the shadowy figure in front of her, seeing the figure was a woman and an adult, judging by the shape and size.

"Who...is that?" She asked herself in her head, feeling confused for a moment.

When the figure moved her head a little, it didn't take long for Sara to quickly figure out who that person standing in front of her is, and when she heard her voice.

"Professor Sada?!" She went, still thinking to herself, as she stared at her figure.

Before Sara could say or do anything, the sound of papers and books being shoved and knocked aside were heard, making her jolt at that sudden sound, following along with a heavy sigh.

"I can't believe that man...The gall to walk out on me! On us!" Sara heard her speak up.

"Mama? What's happening?? Where's Dad...?" A new voice came in, making both Sada and Sara turn to look, seeing the voice belonged to Arven.

Only, Arven was a little kid while his partner pokémon, Mabosstiff, was a Maschiff instead, in the dream.

Just like in the pictures Sara spotted, back in the present at Zero Lab.

"Nevermind that!" Sada answers as she picked Arven's child self up and held him.

"Uh...!" He went when she did.

"Forget about him, okay? Just you and me, we're going somewhere special!" She responds next.

"Special?" Arven asked.

"A time much grander than this...with so many different pokémon...Oh Arven, you're going to love it!" Sada continued while she gently set him down.

"I'm getting us to paradise! I promise! Soon!"

At those words, Sara knew Sada clearly went mad, literally by judging the tone in her voice, before the professor started typing in the computer crazily, ignoring her son's feelings after hearing this.

At the same time, Sara was aware Sada had officially made the decision to choose research over her own child now, which is very heart breaking.

But, there were also several mixed emotions in her voice, both desperation and denial being included in there.

In response, Arven only said "Soon..." with a different tone in his voice, which carried loneliness as he gradually realized she's no longer gonna give him the attention and care he needed anymore.

During the amiss of it all, Sara noticed her mother just coming in the room, a concerned look with worry mixed in and seen across her face, as she looks at Sada.

"Sada...I seriously think you should get yourself some rest. I can tell all of that research you've been doing is making you sleep deprived. I understand how you feel about Turo, I really do, but why don't you take a break for once and spend some more time with your son?" Kira asked worriedly.

"Nonsense! If I stop and rest now, I won't remember what I was doing and would be unable to take us to paradise soon!" Sada replies.

"But, Arven needs you the most! Not this! He can't even take care of himself at this age right now! Please! Just take yourself a break for once...You're pushing yourself too hard and it's gonna get you killed one day!" Kira pleads, as she reaches over and gently grabs Sada by the shoulder.

Without showing any hint of concern, Sada violently jerked Kira's hand off of her before she shoved her back so hard, Kira stumbled and fell, crashing into a bookshelf when she did.

In response, Kira cried out in pain a little after the impact happened and a bunch of hardcover books fell on her from the shelves.

"Miss Kira!" Arven went, alarmed and worried before he ran over to her.

Looking over at Arven as she sat up, she grabbed and put her glasses back on, before moving the books out of the way and rising to her feet.

Massaging the back of her head in an attempt to ease the pain from the impact, Kira gently picked Arven up and softly hugged him in her arms, as tears appeared in her eyes and ran down to her cheeks.

"Arven...? Let's go somewhere and spend some time together. You can hang out and play with my daughter, Sara, too while we're at it..." She tearfully says, burying her face a little in his hair, knowing and understanding very well what's going on.

Looking up at her, he nods before Kira returned Maschiff to his pokéball and handed it to Arven.

In response, Arven took the pokéball and held it close to his chest while Kira left the station with him, holding him gently as she did, and allowed him to stay over at her's and Sara's home for as much as he wanted to, giving Arven all the attention that Sada was supposed to give him, while Sara's being raised together with him.

Like he was her brother, which he kinda probably might be, since Sara has Sada's DNA in her body too.

Then the dream shifted, revealing the AIs of Sada and Kira standing in front of the graves of their original selves.

Apparently, they had been buried recently because the ground shows it had just been dug and filled up not too long ago.

Looking over at AI Sada, tears were seen in AI Kira's eyes before she pulled out a handkerchief and wiped them away, sniffing a little when she did, knowing water will shorten her circuits.

In return, AI Sada pulled her into a tight hug, which was easily returned as AI Kira buried her face in her chest, just shortly after she sank to her knees to the ground and wept.

"Why did it have to happen like this?!" AI Kira sobbed. "Who's gonna take care of them now?! My original self's daughter, Sara, and Sada's son, Arven, too!?!? Both of them are gone and only Arceus knows where Turo went off to!"

"I...I don't know. Not now at least." AI Sada answered honestly, as her voice cracked a little, as it was heavily filled with sorrow.

In response, AI Kira could only cry as AI Sada continued to hug, trying her best to comfort her, while she tried not to cry either.

After for what felt like a bit, AI Kira had stopped crying and wiped the tears away from her face as she sniffed a little again, before AI Sada helped her up to her feet and started walking to Zero Lab.

Huddled in close, as they were side by side, both AIs looked over at each other before they both reached over and held their hands just like a couple.

"Thank you...I really did need that. The comfort and everything." AI Kira speaks up, after a few minutes of silence while they continued to walk.

"You're welcome. It's the least I can do after everything that's just happened..." AI Sada replies as she looks over at her.

Just after they were finished speaking, a Shaymin was found at the entrance gate of Zero Lab when the two AIs arrived.

"A Shaymin? What's it doing here in Paldea?? Aren't they usually seen in Sinnoh and in some of the other regions too, such as Alola???" AI Kira went as she noticed it before the pokémon started to approach them.

In return, AI Sada shrugged until Shaymin arrived at her's and Kira's feet.

"Kyuu uuhn." It went, after AI Kira gently picked it up and held it in her arms.

Just right after she did, AI Kira felt Shaymin put something in her hand, which revealed to be a flower being seen and resting on her left hand.

"Oh? A flower? Thank you." She says, taking notice of it.

In return, Shaymin smiles and nods as it shifted into it's sky form and flew away, once AI Kira set the pokémon back down on the ground.

"Woah!" She went in fascination, just before the AIs never saw the pokémon again, once it flew off.

Looking back at the flower, AI Kira smiles before she showed it to AI Sada.

"Huh...Who would've thought the pokémon of gratitude would show up here, just to give you that?" AI Sada went as she chuckled a little.

"Yeah, no kidding. But, that was very nice of it though to give me this." AI Kira chuckled too, before slipping the flower into the left pocket of her lab coat, so she doesn't accidentally lose it.

"I'll definitely keep it to remember it and this unexpected meeting again. An interesting moment too...Speaking of it, I remember my original self telling me that it was one of her favorite flowers."

Looking back however, as AI Sada and Kira went in Zero Lab, Kira knew her original self was right from the get go, when she warned the original Sada in advance about pushing herself too far to where she'll get herself killed one day, despite her having clairvoyance since childhood.

But, unfortunately, no one ever listens to anyone who has clairvoyance until it's too late to turn back.

And that's the sad truth of it all.

Sighing, once she and AI Sada were inside Zero Lab, AI Kira walked over and sat down on the bed nearby as she struggled to process everything.

The original Sada going mad and becoming heavily obsessed with her research over something Arven didn't want in the first place...

Kira's original self taking Arven into her arms to give and support him while she was raising her daughter too...

The original professor's deaths....

Now, this...Both AIs are all alone and only have each other to keep company.

And they couldn't leave Area Zero if they wanted to.

AI Kira could, but Sada couldn't.

While Kira was sitting on the bed, Sada sat herself down on the same chair Sara remembered Scarlet telling her before.

Gazing at the papers scattered all over the place and across the desk, Sada just stared at them for a moment before looking back over at where Kira is...

"Was it worth it...Professor?" Sada asked herself as she sat there.

Then she looked up at the picture of Arven's younger self and Maschiff together before she stood to her feet and walked over to it.

Resting a hand on the picture, she continued to look at it before lowering her head a little.

"I'm sorry you were alone for so long..."

Seeing all of this happening, tears appeared in Sara's eyes and fell from her face.

"Sada-mama...How could you? And to mom, Arven, and the AIs as well!" was all she could utter out tearfully.

When she did, the dream shifted without any warning.

After that happened, Sara and Sada were in a room all by themselves this time, but this was different.

In it this time, Sada was a human, despite her movements along with her normal, slow and steady breathing giving it away.

Just like how any human normally is.

It wasn't choppy or anything like that at all.

"Professor?" Sara went as she and Sada met eye contact, staring at each other.

"Sara..."

Then both Sada and Sara approached in sync, meeting each other in the middle of the room.

Strangely, it felt like Sara was looking at a mirror. A reflection of herself, but if she's an adult without glasses and with the dirty blonde hair instead.

For a few seconds, they continued to stare until Sada reached over and rested her hands on Sara's shoulders.

"...Heh...Looking at you now, compared to the last time I saw you, you really have taken after me more. But, I can tell you still have some of your mother's side in you too." She spoke up again, chuckling lightly a little.

"Yeah....Even though I have my mom's hair and some of her persona, I still inherited everything else from you." Sara replies as she smiles a tiny bit.

In response, Sada nodded while she smiled back, before her face changed into a more serious expression, now that she's broken the ice on starting a conversation up.

"Sara...There's something I need to tell you. Where you're at the age that you are right now, I want you to know there's gonna be some unexpected things going on when you wake up." She mentions.

"A bit more context please?" Sara questioned.

"I'm warning you in advance right now, so you'll be prepared for it...Or for anything else." Sada answers. "It's sometimes gonna be unpleasant while other times it'll be pleasant."

"What do you mean by that? This still doesn't make any sense." Sara asked, obviously still feeling very confused over what Sada meant by all of this.

"I'll leave that up to your head and let you figure it out for now. You are a gifted and a very intelligent young lady after all, just like me and Kira." Sada simply replies, while gently resting her hands on the sides of Sara's face.

Sighing, Sara could only nod in response before looking away for a moment, once she was let go.

"Sada-mama? I..." Sara began as she looked back, only Sada was no longer standing in front of her and wasn't present anymore.

"What the - ?! Where did she go?!?!" Sara went in surprise, with shock and confusion mixed in.

"There's no way she could've just up and disappeared into the thin air like some sort of a magic trick that a Meowscarada could pull off!"

In the midst of it all, the room suddenly turned yellow and then red, making Sara look from her left and to her right, until she looked down, noticing Sada was sitting on the floor and on her knees, but slumped forward.

"Professor!? What's wrong?!" She asked worriedly. "Are you okay?!?!"

Just before she could get down to Sada's level and try helping her up to her feet, Sada tripped Sara, making her fall when she did that.

"Ah! Ouch!" Sara went after landing to the floor hard on her stomach.

In response to hearing this, Sada cracked a villainous grin before she stood up and rolled Sara over on her back, until she slammed her foot hard on her arm, causing Sara to cry out in pain as the sound of bones being broken were heard.

Moving her foot away and stepping back, Sada just watched in amusement as she allowed Sara to get up while she clutched her arm in pain.

"What?! Wh-Why?!?! I...I thought you were - ?" She started, until Sada suddenly slammed her down to the floor, with Sara landing on her chest this time.

As soon as the impact came, Sara clutched her chest, feeling a strong sense of sharp pain circulating through her body like broken pieces of glass.

Without saying anything, Sada smirked before something sinister appeared from behind and enveloped her in it, before whatever it was started to come after Sara next.

Getting herself up quickly, using her uninjured arm, Sara started to make a run for it at first, but she unfortunately was too late as whatever that sinister being was, had quickly caught up and consumed her in darkness.

When it did, Sara immediately woke up.

-  -  -

The first thing no one didn't expect that they'd be waking up to, is the sound of a bloodcurdling scream coming from Sara.

"Huh?! What the - ?? What's going on?!?!" Scarlet went, being the first to be jolted awake from the scream before Nemona, Penny, Arven, Sada and Kira were jolted awake too.

Hearing Sara scream did make Kira malfunction a little for a moment, just like how Miraidon did as his reaction to being dizzy, when Sada accidentally spun him around too fast one time, but she snapped back to her senses and hurried out of the room with Sada tailing after her.

"IT HURTS!!" Sara could only utter out in agony as she screamed, resting the palm of her right hand on her forehead while clutching her chest with her left, as tears appeared in her eyes and ran down to her cheeks.

"Sara! What's wrong?!" Kira asked worriedly, as she and Sada entered the room to see what was going on, before Arven appeared too, since he heard Sara scream as well.

"IT HURTS!!!" Sara mantras, still keeping her hand on her forehead, while she kept clutching her chest, but tightly this time, with the other.

Seeing this, Kira figured out quickly that her daughter was suffering horrible pain from both her head and chest, just by the sight of it.

"Sara, let me take a look at you." Kira responds next, her voice calm but carries shakiness in it too, fearing for her daughter's health.

"NO! DON'T!!" Sara pleads.

"Sara, if you don't let us take a look, we won't be able to know what's wrong, so we can try to help you..." Sada speaks up next, obviously trying to help Kira out.

"I CAN'T! IT'S TOO MUCH!!"

"What's too much?"

In response, Sara didn't say anything as choked out sobs were heard next.

"Sara, sweetie, what's going on? Why aren't you being cooperative with us??" Kira asks, begging her at this point.

"...can't!" Sara could only respond.

Getting a little tired of this, Penny took her rotom phone out and pointed it at Sara, determined to know what's wrong with her.

After she did, a cloud of information popped up with a red exclamation mark next to it, knowing whatever it is, it's not normal or a good thing.

"Woah! Kira, how long has this been happening to Sara?" Penny asked as her eyes widened in shock.

"Since she was 12...It was a few weeks just right after she hit puberty too." Kira answered as she looked over at Penny, already aware that she knows what she knows now.

"What do you mean? What's going on with Sara, Penny?" Scarlet asked, both her, Nemona and Arven worried about their friend.

Before Penny could answer, Sara eventually sat up on the bed at one point, revealing what was going on, that shocked everyone.

Including Arven, who was mostly shocked to the core.

Looking at Sara, both of her cyan eyes were glowing. Her hair, usually at its normal color, now had streaks of dirty blonde mixed in with it this time.

"My chest....It feels like it's on fire. It hurts and burns so badly..." Sara finally managed to speak in sentences, while tears continued appearing in her eyes, as she panted heavily.

"And my head feels like it's splitting in half like a melon..."
