Prologue: Forgotten Evil

"...so, which of you was it?" The deputy director demanded with a malicious glare. The young woman tensed up, she could sense the malice from the man, behind his brightly colored suit and formal attire, a hatred was hidden.

"Me sir," she lied, "My brother has no idea."

The man continued, "I am... sorry to hear it. After Team Star incident I am being forced to resign, and I will be leaving the region where I will continue my work in education."

"Please you're going to Galar because they're just as backwards as you are," the woman glared. She had blonde, almost golden hair, but was short with a beefy, yet fit build. She wore the school's uniform, the winter version to stave off the cold as snow fell from above the duo.

"I go where my truth is accepted," the deputy director continued. "But before I go..."

The deputy director gripped his luxury ball on his waist, "I would rather die than let someone as deranged as yourself taint someone as gifted as your brother..."

Deputy Director Ubel would like to battle...

That fateful day, just before Ubel left for what everyone assumed to be for good, he did something horrible.

But this evil was forgotten.

One and a half years passed since that fateful day, and a young student moved to Paldea where they rose to the top, becoming champion, toppling titans, and taking on Team Star. Afterwards, seeking greater challenge, they left Paldea behind, hearing of powerful trainers in Galar, they took a short trip one year after their exploits

Which left Paldea without its hero.

That is where our story begins.

The young man wakes up in his dorm, he was of medium height, with short hair dyed bright red, messy in an almost intentional fashion... almost intentional. He wore the school's autumn outfit, but without a hat. He stretched as he awoke, and looked around his room. It was a bare room, he spent little time in it when he was not asleep, so he saw little need to decorate it.

He left the room behind, followed by a yapping young Greavard. He pet the pokemon on the head and smiled wearily, "Yeah yeah I know Wick. I know. Today's when the treasure hunt starts."

He walked down the halls, bustling with the voices of eagre students, but with a tension in the air. Something had changed, and it had changed for the worse.

When he entered the schoolyard, a palpable tension filled the area, the teachers seemed tense as he approached the stage, Clavell walked past him.

"Clavell?" the young man greeted, "What are you doing, don't you give a speech when the treasure hunt starts?"

Clavell hid his anger and maintained composure, "I... have been forced into paid leave."

"What?" the young man asked.

"I am sorry young Marshall," Clavell avoided eye contact, "But I must advise you to leave before the speech."

Marshal was confused, "Clavell? What happened? You've had my back since my sister passed away and I've never seen you so... tense."

Clavell sighed and began to walk away, "Just... don't pick a fight you can't win..."

Confused and unnerved, Marshal walked onward, a heavy silence fell over the student body as a tall man in formal attire walked on stage. His hair was salt and pepper and he had a thick beard, his blue eyes were cold and uncaring as the snow of northern Galar, where he had just left from.

Marshall knew this man. He was the last man to see his sister alive.

Ubel greeted the student body, "I am director Ubel, and I will be taking over Clavell's duties for the foreseeable future."

Ubel continued, "As you are all aware today is the beginning of our treasure hunt, where you will seek something you will truly treasure. Before we begin however I have some business to address with some members of the student body." The tension was turned into fury in the hearts of many as Ubel glared, "All members of Team Star are expelled, effective immediately."

A group of students in odd attire began to argue amongst themselves, the bosses of Team Star. Their leader, a young girl named Penny, began to hyperventilate, showing signs of a panic attack. Her friends tried to calm her down, one of them taking her away muttering about, how, "that scumbag had the gall to show his face here..."

Ubel carried on, giving the usual spiel about the treasure hunt, however, the students were to baffled to pay much mind to his words. Marshall wasn't surprised, but enraged. He spoke up, "Hey! Ubel!"

Ubel looked up, and saw Marshal waving his hands, he inquired, "Yes? Question in the middle of the crowd?"

"So our treasure can be most anything right?"

Ubel nodded, "Yes even more metaphorical or abstract things."

"Good," Marshal sneered, having his exact treasure in mind.

Ubel continued to speak, as Marshal slipped away to follow the two members of Team Star that had left.

"Look..." Mela sighed, "Legally speaking the school has to give you a month to leave. We have time to figure this out."

Penny shook her head, "Figure it out how!?! This is Ubel we're talking about! His incompetence is why we had to make Team Star in the first place!"

"I'll..." Mela tried to think of what to say, something, anything, to make Penny feel better, but words eluded her, "I... I just... I'll figure it out. OK? Please just... you're gonna be OK."

Mela offered a hug which Penny accepted, starting to cry, they stayed there for about minute or two until Penny stopped crying. "I... I'm gonna go clear my head."

"That would be best," Mela agreed.

As soon as Penny was out of earshot Mela punched the wall hard. "That sack of grimer sludge! Who does he think he is?"

This was when Marshal entered, greeting her, "Excuse me. You're with Team Star, right?"

"What's it to you?" Mela snapped.

"Easy easy!" Marshal assured, "I'm on your side. We both have reasons to want to see Ubel removed. "We can work together on this."

"What do you purpose?" Mela inquired, now curious.

"We force him out," Marshall suggested, "Your team is almost akin to an army. If we just charge the place down-"

"Woah OK!" Mela demanded, "Don't you think that's an overreaction?"
"You don't know what he's capable of," Marshal retorted, "Ubel is dangerous. Besides, what choice do you have? I know about the whole Team Star ordeal everyone does. You guys did nothing wrong!"

Mela sighed, she almost walked away, but she thought of Penny. If they didn't act quickly what else could they do?

"...Team Star has five leaders," Mela conceded, "If you can beat us all at our bases we will be forced via our code to follow your lead. If you're strong enough to pull this off, then that won't be an issue for you."

Marshal nodded, "I will do so by the end of the month."

Mela began to walk away but she turned back and asked, "Did... Ubel hurt you, or something?"

"IIt's..." Marshal sighed, "Personal."

Mela shrugged, "Whatever man if you're serious about this just get it done."

Storyline: Going Supernova

Going against someone like Ubel will require a lot of manpower. When a star dies it explodes in a Supernova. It's time for Team Star to go supernova...

Marshal carried on towards the exit of the school, he contemplated his plans for the future. A girl deep in thought walked back and forth, a ed hand brace on her dominant hand as she held a Pokeball in it, contemplating what she had just seen.

She turned to see Marshal leaving, at a brisk pace, knowing now he was on a strict time limit. She stopped him, "Hey! You!"

"Yeah?" Marshal asked, turning to face the girl, "Oh, you must be Nemona."

"Yeah yeah nevermind that," Nemona replied, "Did Clavell just storm out? I've never seen him be actually upset like that..."

"Did he seem upset?" Marshal inquired.

"He looked like he was just keeping i together honestly," Nemona elaborated, "Frankly I was a bit intimidated and didn't wanna ask him what was wrong."

"He got replaced by Ubel," Marshal sighed.

"Didn't Ubel resign and leave for Galar a while back?" Nemona inquired.

"Yeah same guy," Marshal nodded bitterly.

Nemona shook her head, "Yeah he was director back when the whole Team STar fiasco happened a couple years back. Where's Penny? She's probably a bit stressed out by-"

"All Team Star members got expelled," Marshal replied.

Nemona froze, unsure how to reply. She thought for a moment, twirling her Pokeball in her hand and then asked, "What do we... do at this point?"

Marshal shrugged, "I mean Ubel's a piece of crap and I have like, dirt on the guy I just can't... prove it."

"Wait, you have something on Ubel?" Nemona inquired.

"No concrete evidence," Marshal sighed.

Nemona thought about what she was about to suggest, wondering if it was wrong, but deciding that Ubel had messed with her friends and she had no other choice, "...I mean... you don't NEED proof."

Marshal stared at her in confused bewilderment before she elaborated, "Like, listen. The champion title is very respected, if you had that title, anything you said against Ubel would hold weight, proven or not, and Ubel would be forced to debunk it. If it is true he wouldn't be able to lie his way out of it at that point."

A bell rang, Nemona began to walk away, walking backwards to face Marshal, "I have a class to get to. I'll check on Penny and get back to you. Uhhh..."

"Marshal."

"Right. I'll get back to you on this Marshal! I'm gonna go make sure Penny is OK and get to class."

With that Nemona left for class, leaving Marshal to consider another option for getting his treasure.

Storyline: Road to Revenge

If you were champion your allegations would stick until disproved, which Ubel would be unable to do. Becoming champion may be the best way to make him pay for his crimes.

Marshal weighed his options, at first he considered making a combeeline for the nearest gym, but recalled Penny's reaction. He thought about what Ubel had taken away from him. He wondered if he could make time to do both. Unlike Team Star, the league didn't have a deadline per say. Perhaps if he was quick or handled Team Star first...

It was then he saw the former director arguing with the biology teacher of the school, this argument was not angry per say, btu very firm.

"...well Ubel isn't going to do anything he was deputy director back in the day and look how that went," Clavell reminded.

Jacq shook his head in dismay, "But we have to do something, anything, otherwise the ecosystem of the whole religion will collapse can't we ask Champion Geeta or something?"

Clavell shook his head, "Geeta is quite overworked as is... we must consider other options."

Clavell took a sip of his tea as he looked around, trying to think, and spotted Marshal walking by. He called to Marshal, "Excuse me master Marshal, may I have a word?"

Marshal nodded, "Yeah sure I guess."

Jacq explained, "Sorry to bother you kiddo, but we have run into dire circumstances. Various invasive species have appeared across Paldea from Area Zero with titan pokemon by their side and we need someone to investigate them. Each outbreak of these creatures is being led by a titan Pokemon."

Marshal inquired, "What the hell is in Area Zero that could threaten the rest of Paldea?"

Jacq froze, he stammered out, "Well, it's uhhhhh... I mean... You see...."

"These Pokemon are..." Clavell spoke delicately, "....they were brought in from a foreign environment and are terrible for our region's ecosystem. Ubel will do nothing against it and we are out of options."

"I mean I would love to help but I have a lot on my plate," Marshal shook his head sadly."

"You will need allies to handle Ubel," Clavell offered, "We are more than willing to help."

"Wait I know Ubel is a terrible director but what did he do to Marshal?"

Clavell with his usual composure defused the matter, "That is a personal matter that you will only be informed of at Marshal's discretion."

"Anyways," Marshal interjected, trying to change topics quickly, put the matter out of his mind, "Where are these titans?"

"I'll send you the data we have to your Rotom Phone." Jacq replied. The two phones flew into the air for the date to transfer before returning to the pockets of their respective owners.

"I'll see what I can do," Marshal assured before waving goodbye and walking away.

Storyline: The Harsher Times

Clavell and Jacq would be valuable allies and this matter does appear urgent. This would be well worth addressing along the way.

And with that Marshal left the town behind, he looked at his Rotom Phone, it had a Pikachu case, and weighed his options.

He left town and looked out over the grassy fields, Paldea was his Cloyster, but it would take work to crack it open, and he was on a strict time limit before Ubel got rid of Team Star. Paldea was on the verge of pandemonium, even if no one realized, the situation was dire and disaster was imminent. One month until everything would collapse if nothing was done.Marshal sighed as he sat in the grass, "What am I gonna do sis?" Wick whined and licked Marshal's face in an attempt to cheer him up. Marshal laughed gently pushing the dog away, "OK OK! I get it! I'm OK Wick! I'm OK..."Marshal stood up, he stretched his arms under the rising Sun, and turned towards Wick, "We have a lot to do, Wick. Let's get to work..."
