No one knew he was shiny til Mia had mega evolved him for the first time.
Short Backstory- Gengar was actually Mia's starter given to her as a Gengar. Now, this didn’t mean he actually listened, in fact, it took him a while to boun and listen to Mia. The first instance of him listening to her was when an Houndoom and the Houndour in its pack had ambushed Mia, her Growlithe((at the time)), and himself. The only reason he even gave Mia a second glance was due to her fearful whimpers at the fact Growlithe had already fainted and she had no one left but Gengar. Now he was planning to let her fend for herself as she probably could but something about Mia’s pleads caught his attention and got the chubby ghost to protect her. From that point on Mia and Gengar grew closer. He became more protective of her. And she became more trusting in him. Soon the two had an unbreakable bond.

Short Backstory- Mia had caught him as a Growlithe after noting Gengar wasn't going to be of much help. Before Mia, Arcanine was often abandoned by his trainers due to his extremely aggressive behavior in and out of battle. So once Mia came around the Growlithe was very hesitant to even go with her. But as soon as she proved that she wasn't going to leave him he began to open up and become the happy little dog he once was. He, along with Gengar, often walked along with Mia as she felt it would be better for them to form a bound this way. Arcanine has always been protective over Mia, often going to the length of trying to fight other Pokemon he thought posed a threat to his sweet trainer.

Shot Backstory- She had saved him when he was a Bagon from a Dragonite and Altaria after the small pokemon tried stealing food from them on multiple occasions. She had thrown herself between the dragons as her Gengar and Arcanine protected her and the small dragon, The little dragon was extremely grateful for the small brunette. For a while, he followed after Mia without actually being her pokemon, as Mia didn’t want to force him into being hers. Though when threatened by pokemon poachers she was quick to catch him while trying her best to save the pokemon they had taken. Thus the bond between them deepened even further.

Short Backstory- Upon asking Mia out, Augustine had gotten Mia a Meowth after hearing Mittens, her family’s house Meowth, had run away. So after seeing how saddened, she was the thought of getting her a new Meowth would cheer her up, which actually did to his surprise.

Short Backstory- One late night Mia and Augustine were out searching for Arcanine after he ran away. Upon finding him she and her husband were beyond surprised to see him fighting off an Ursaring from a nest with a small Eevee egg. While Augustine and Garchomp helped Arcanine Mia had grabbed the small egg and ran off, her husband and their pokemon sooner joining her. Mia and Augustine began to discuss what should be done with the egg. The two had been talking about having children of their only days prior and came to the agreement that raising the small egg would give them a great experience before they have a baby of their own.
