Chapter - 35

Giovanni sipped his glass of orange juice while laying on the sun lounger. It was just another wonderful day for him. He wore a yellow beach shirt with green leaves printed on it, along with matching yellow shorts. He felt free, he had nothing to worry about anymore, all he had to do was sip his orange juice and eat grapes.

He heard footsteps from behind that stopped just before him. Giovanni removed his shades, and without even looking he could tell who it was. "To what do I owe you this pleasure?"

"Who are you?" Asked Looker, puzzled.

Giovanni smirked. "I'm guessing you read my file a little too carefully. Though I wasn't expecting you to come and ask questions given that you know the state of Felicia's brother."

"You know I said yes to Felicia right? I'm doing this for her, not you." Looker stated. "Now, I want you to explain everything to me before I end your story right now."

"You wanna end me? Do it." Giovanni said. "But if you do that, Looker, you and everyone on this planet are gonna die with me. You know why? Because it's a complicated time loop."

"What?" Looked was stunned. "What do you mean?" Giovanni broke into inexplicable laughter, and started applauding.

"You wouldn't believe me but I'll tell you anyways." Giovanni was excited, he wanted to make sure that Looker knew how much he was in-control of the situation even though Looker had taken away his freedom. "It's fairly simple. You kill me before I am to execute my plan, the entire timeline is gonna blow. The universe will collapse and all the life as we know it will come to an end." Giovanni smirked.

"You're bluffing." Looker was terrified.

"You really wanna take that chance don't you? Then why don't you do it?" Giovanni laughed. "Anyways, what were those questions?"

Looker tossed Giovanni's file on the sun lounger, expecting Giovanni to justify everything. "This is your file, I had to go through about 25-year-old documents to acquire this. What's fascinating is your mentioned date of birth here." Looker opened the file and placed his finger on Giovanni's date of birth – August 8, 1943.

Giovanni had a big smirk on his face. "Excellent observation, Looker." Looker was annoyed and demanded answers. "What else?"

"According to this, shouldn't you be 70?" Asked Looker. "That is why I will come back to my initial question – who are you?"

"Like I said to you before, you wouldn't believe me if I told you." Giovanni was loud and clear.

"Try me." Looker was ready to hear the truth, no matter how absurd it was going to be. He had seen alot of impossible things in the past year or so and knew that this was going to be more mind-boggling than any of it.

"Only because you insist." Giovanni started. "The story starts, as you now know, in 1943. Where I was born, parents died in the war so my uncle took care of me until he vanished one day. He was a scientist and-"

"What was his name?" Looker demanded.

"It's Gregorio Silverman." Giovanni answered. "He was a scientist who invented a truly magical device, capable of taking you anywhere in time. Guess what it is?"

"The GS Ball?" Looker was trying to connect the dots but nothing made sense to him. "Tell me how it's a loop, how would the universe end if I kill you right now?"

"I had my plan ready and was ready to execute it, but when I thought about the endless possibilities of this unique little device, I knew what I had to do. So I went forward in time and saw the end result for myself, and I won."

"What exactly did you see?" Asked Looker, curious.

"I saw myself standing on top of a hill along with Mewtwo, it was in my control and was wearing the mechanical suit. Red and Leaf were also there, trying to stop me from the sacrifice I was going to make to turn this world into something better. But then, Ben arrived with the GS Ball, he thought he knew it's full potential but he didn't. I then commanded Mewtwo to end his life and it did. His death is inevitable." Giovanni explained.

April 7, 2015

"Charizard, hang in there buddy, I know you can do this." Red was struggling to win against Giovanni, who got Mewtwo trapped inside a metal suit to gain control of it. Leaf was unconscious, lying near a rock, which was the main reason why Red was so rageful.

"I have waited for 15 long years to reach here." Giovanni spoke out of hate. "You are not taking this away from me, kid. Not now, not ever."

Ben was right behind Giovanni, almost unable to walk, he had several injuries on his entire body and was soaked in blood. He slowly pointed the GS Ball upwards and was about to push it's button.

Suddenly, the GS Ball glowed purple. "Ben, my old friend, you used to be one of the smartest people I ever knew. Look at you now, I only understand why you named your kid - Red." Giovanni laughed. "You guys are twinning."

"You are not getting away with anything. Trust me when I say, you are going to die for this. You know why? Because you don't deserve to live." Ben couldn't speak clearly, but he spoke with all that he had left.

Giovanni laughed. Mewtwo tossed the GS Ball away as it was no longer useful to Giovanni. "That is so cute." He said, changing his tone to extreme anger. "Kill him." Ben started glowing purple and floated in the air. Mewtwo pointed it's hand at Ben. An energy ball started forming in Mewtwo's hand, which was going to be directed at Ben.

"Charizard, use Hyperbeam!" Red stepped forward to protect his father, his heart completely crushed, hoping that what he thought was about to happen wouldn't happen.

Mewtwo pointed it's other hand towards Charizard and Red, both started glowing purple and froze. The energy ball was ready, powerful and stable enough to end another Mewtwo in one blow.

"Do it!" Giovanni ordered. Mewtwo shot the energy ball at Ben, who took his last breath right before it blew.

Present

"Imagine that if I saw this outcome even before creating Team Rocket, then how do you think I feel when I think about the likeliness of this outcome? Red and Leaf are in Hoenn, you are here, I know that Ben is alive and I assume that he is working with Samuel Oak as he has the GS Ball. The only thing missing right now is Mewtwo and I know I will get it eventually."

Looker was speechless and clueless about what he must do, he did not want to believe Giovanni but he had no option at this point. He knew what he had to do and where he had to go. He picked up the file from the sun lounger and walked away. Giovanni smirked.

"Where are you headed now?" He asked.

Looker stopped for a moment and thought about his decision. He took a second to make up his mind and once he was sure, he replied. "Pallet Town."
