Chapter - 38
____________

"All dreams are nothing but another reality." A young girl, about 7-years-old read an old inscription at the shrine of Jirachi. "What does this mean, sister?"

A familiar young girl stepped forward, Enid. "It's supposed to mean that our actions in dreams are performed by us but in another universe or timeline, Edo."

Edo was amazed by this information and cheered in excitement. "So the multiverse thing is true afterall?" She asked. "Are we strong enough to travel to another universe? Like what if we travelled fast enough and approached the speed of light, according to science, it should create a wormhole through which-" Edo was interrupted by Enid.

"Don't believe everything you read. Maybe it could happen but what if it didn't? Are we stupid enough to try that? Absolutely not!" Enid scolded Edo. Though she was just trying to protect her from going anywhere.

"But why can't I do anything? Edo don't do this, Edo don't do that. I want a life for myself, can't I live it?" Edo immitated her sister. She quickly got angry and started levitating. "Just do not follow me okay?" Edo flew away.

Enid had to figure out a way to keep Edo safe in cases of emergencies but she could not figure out a way to do so. Then it clicked. Enid started levitating and flew as fast as she could. She had not been able using her powers because most of it gets drained by forcing a human form.

Enid landed outside an old house in the middle of nowhere and knocked. A woman, about 50-years-old opened the door. "You again? I told you to not come here. You and your dumb little sister can keep your distance from me. Planning to trash my place again?" Asked the woman in frustration.

"Esmeralda, I am very sorry for the last time. What Edo did was very irresponsible-"

"Irresponsible? It was evil. Do you have any idea how much time it took me to rebuild this entire place all on my own? 7 years."

"7 years isn't that long for someone like you. And this place looks really bad for that much time. You sure you don't require my help?" Asked Enid.

"The only help you can provide me is in about 37 years. When that little genie Pokémon of yours comes back from its rock form." Esmeralda was eagerly for this Pokémon.

"It has a name - Jirachi. And it's actually a crystal and not a rock form." Enid defended. "Anyways, I require some help from you."

"You need my help? That's ridiculous!"

"I need that Pokésphere thing to contain Edo before she does anything, anything remotely close to what she did last time. I know you know what I mean right?" Enid tried to explain her situation.

"I'm just pissed because she destroyed this house, my husband, Andrin built this house. That's the least I could do for the love we have." Esmeralda's voice contained sorrow.

"The love you have? Don't you mean had? Come on, you can't love someone who has been dead for thousands of years. It fades away." Enid laughed.

Esmeralda contained her frustration and tried to remain calm. "Gammel kjærleik rustar ikkje." Said Esmeralda. "It's something Andrin used to say."

"What language is that? Latin?" Asked Enid. "What does it mean? Nevermind, I don't have this much time and I don't care enough. Can you hurry up and just give me one of those Pokésphere thingies?"

"Sure." Esmeralda picked up a Pokésphere from the side table and quickly handed it to Enid. "It's old norse and it means, Old love doesn't-" Enid flew away before Esmeralda could finish her sentence. "Corrode."

Enid flew back towards her home, the Southern Island, located in the southern part of Hoenn, near the old abandoned Sky Pillar. From afar, Enid could see a wildfire on the Southern Island.

She rushed down to find her sister, hoping that she was alright. But all she could see were people in uniforms, some in black, some in red. She hid behind the trees to observe their activity.

What do these people think they are doing here? Have they captured all the Pokémon on this island? I think so, I do not sense any more Pokémon left in the proximity. Wait, I got something, what is that? Edo! — Enid thought. She dashed quickly towards the location where she could sense Edo.

Edo laid on the ground, fainted, surrounded by these people in black and red uniforms. A man walked out of a helicopter, he seemed to be in his mid-thirties.

I know how stupid this is, capturing Pokémon, but I must do it to form a strong organisation. More powerful than these nerds I'm working with right now, Team Magma or whatever they call themselves. I will show the world what I am capable of, I will take Team Rocket to greater heights. I hope the plan works out eventually. I hope my brother comes back and one day we can execute our plan, to end the existence of Pokémon. But I don't know if it's possible anymore, but again, my brother likes playing the long game — Antonio (then, going by the name of Giovanni) thought.

"Boss, what do we do with the girl?" Asked a Team Rocket Member. "She is injured. It's like she fell from the sky or something."

Ofcourse, she might have tried to escape by flying, but she isn't not strong enough to fly for long — Enid thought. She drew out the Pokésphere and dashed towards her younger sister. She tapped the Pokésphere on her sister's head. Edo went inside the Pokésphere, while Enid dashed away from Team Rocket and Team Magma. It happened in a split second.

"What was that?" Asked Antonio.

"I think a girl took the other girl, it was too fast though, I'm not so sure what happened." Explained a Team Rocket Member.

"Well, go after it!" Antonio ordered.

"Yes, Sir Giovanni!" The Team Rocket Member saluted and all of Team Rocket went after Enid.

Enid kept dashing away while looking at the Pokésphere again and again. The Pokésphere kept shaking as Edo had not accepted it as of yet. "Edo, you have to accept it." Suddenly, Team Rocket started firing at Enid. Enid dodged all of the bullets.

Okay, I have to go faster and away from here — Enid thought. She began to glow blue in color and started flying away from the island. Antonio was startled to see a glowing-blue-girl in the sky.

"Fire!" Shouted a Team Rocket Member. It was an easy shot for them. A bullet hit Enid, straight on her leg. In self defense, she quickly changed to her original form and flew away.

"Was that a Pokémon? The girl was a Pokémon!" A Team Rocket Member told Antonio.

"I can't believe it!" Said Antonio. "It was, a Latios." He was shocked as he never ever expected to see something like this.

The Latios, was struggling to fly with its one wing damaged and was exhausted. It had taken a shot, still carrying the Pokésphere containing its sister, Edo, a Latias. She looked at it. It had stopped shaking, Edo had accepted it. The Latios smiled as it passed out mid-flight.

It fell into the sea below it, along with the Pokésphere it carried. It hit the water with an explosive sound, changing its form back to that of a young girl. It was Enid again.

On the seashore, a young boy was fishing, he had been sitting there for hours now. With his bucket empty, he had not caught any. He suddenly notices a girl, floating on the water, unconscious. He hurries to his father's boat and sets off to save her from drowing. He pulls her in the boat, along with a Pokésphere that was floating next to her.

He girl gains back her conciousness. "Who are you? Where are you taking me?" Asked Enid.

"You can call me Briney." Said the boy. "You were drowning, so I- would take say rescued but yeah, saved you. Is this Pokésphere yours?"

Enid quickly got up and snatched the Pokésphere back from Briney. "Do not touch that!"

"Okay, sorry if I hurt your feelings." He said. "Didn't mean to do that. Anyways, what's your name?" Enid fainted. "Oh no."

Briney took Enid to his house, his father took Enid to the guest room, where she slept soundly. While Briney's mother noticed the bullet wound and tried to heal it.

Enid woke up. "Where am I?" She asked. Briney was sitting on a chair next to the bed, sleeping. Enid woke Briney up with her powers.

"Yeah what? You're in the guest room. You've been asleep for two weeks, Enid." Briney said, seriously.

"WHATTT?!!!" Enid freaked out.

"Just kidding." The 20-something-year-old boy started laughing at his own joke. "You've only been out for a day. Don't worry you can stay here while you heal. Let me know if you need anything okay?" Briney got up and began to leave.

"Briney!" Enid called, Briney stopped and looked at her. "Thank you." She smiled.
