Chapter - 31

NOW

Enid stood alone near the docks, she needed to clear her head before continuing with the rest of the group. She couldn't lie to anyone anymore, it was just not who she was.

"I need to tell them the truth." Enid spoke to herself. "It's not right to lie. These are good people."

"Good people?" Said a whispering fenale voice, a voice only Enid could hear. "Their kind took away our home from us. They are all the same, sister."

"And this is why I trapped you. You're immature, sister." Said Enid, begging to get angry.

"Your hate towards humans can bring nothing but calamity. You want justice? I'll end the life of the person who destroyed our home and our family."

"Your empathy makes you weak." Said the voice.

"And your lack of empathy makes you a liability to the entire planet." Enid argued. "So shut up and let me live."

Enid took a deep breath and walked to the group. Red, Leaf, Brendan and May were waiting for her, along with Cassidy and Butch.

The ferry had already arrived and they went aboard. It was Enid's first time on a ferry, she was fascinated by how the technology had improved in the past few decades.

Enid was shocked to see the inside of the ferry, it looked like a restaurant. Red and Leaf quickly occupied a table with more chairs so the group could sit together.

"Lunch time everyone." Butch and Cassidy placed a tray of burgers on the table. The tray also included some fries and chicken nuggets.

"What's this?" Asked Enid, picking up a burger.

"Uh- what does it look like?" Asked Brendan, laughing.

"It looks like bread stuffed with vegetables." Enid replied.

"Um-" Brendan had no idea what to say. "That's- exactly what that is. But it's called a Burger."

"Oh!" Enid took a bite, her eyes widened. She had never ate anything like it. She smiled.

"There it is!" Leaf placed her hand on the table with her palm up. Red placed a few bucks on her hand. "We were wondering when you'd smile."

"What?" Enid asked, laughing. "You think I don't smile?"

Leaf snapped her fingers at Red's face and placed her hand in front of his face with her palm up. Red gave her fifty bucks.

"Well." Brendan looked at May. "That's one way to make money." May shrugged.

Suddenly, the ferry slowed down and the alarms went off. About a dozen Team Aqua members came out of nowhere.

"Every passenger to be seated. This ferry has been hijacked." Said a Team Aqua Member. "No harm will be caused if you co operate."

Red placed his hands on the table. "Hey." He whispered. "You two are Team Aqua for now. Don't blow your cover."

Cassidy and Butch realised and quickly stood up, and joined the rest of the Team Aqua Members. They had to blend in with whatever Team Aqua was doing on that ferry.

"Now what happens?" Asked Enid. "Who are these people?"

"Team Aqua. They're a criminal organization." Red replied with the simplest explanation. "Cassidy and Butch are not in it, but they're undercover, so they have to blend in." He whispered.

"Makes sense." Enid replied. She did not really care about what was going on, to her it was another stupid human-thing. She was not have to be afraid of such things.

Suddenly, two Team Aqua members were standing at Red's table. Looking right at them. "Pokémon Trainers." One of them placed their hand on the table with a loud thud. "Now, what do we do with them?"

"Let's tie them up." Said another Aqua member.

"Um, I'm not sure I'd like that." Brendan complained. May kicked him on his foot. "Hey! What was that for?"

"You're a liability." She whispered to him.

2 HOURS AGO

"Status report. I've been following this Team Aqua member for about fifteen minutes. I've been following him since Petalburg City and I'm unsure to where he's headed." A man in a spandex suit with a Scyther mask tailed the Team Aqua member.

"Dan, you don't have to narrate right now. He'll hear you." A voice was heard from the blutooth earpiece the Scyther-masked-guy was wearing.

"Good point, Noah." Said Dan, the Scyther-masked-guy. "Did you come up with a cool superhero name for me?"

Dan hid behind trees and bushes, trying not to get the Aqua member out of his sight.

Dan was a 16-year-old who had recently started helping people using his extraordinary powers, while keeping his identity hidden. Long story short, Dan and his best friend Noah went on a school trip to the Safari Zone, where Dan was bitten by a baby Scyther. For a few days, he felt unwell but then, he gained several abilities, those similar to a Scyther. And he became the. . .

"The Human Scyther." Noah suggested. Dan made a face of disgust and did not respond. "Hello? Okay I'll come up with something else."

Dan stopped. The Aqua member was greeting a few more of his kind. Several Aqua members now walked together towards the beach.

"Holy- dude there are alot of Team Aqua members here now, they're going to the beach? I don't know, must be a vacation, but I can't see what's happening on the beach." Dan explained. "Permission to change position for intel."

"Permission granted." Noah shouted.

Dan slowly walked around the house that blocked his vision to the beach. He crawled in the tall grass to avoid being seen. Finally, he could see what was going on and his jaw dropped in shock.

"Dude! It's a ferry." Dan screamed.

Noah was sitting at home, speaking to Dan through his cellphone. He made a quick search about the ferry Dan was talking about and was ready with the information in no time.

"Okay so, there's a Rolls-Royce in that ferry, along with it's big-shot owner and her daughter. I think you should hurry before it leaves." Noah panicked.

"On it!" Dan ran as fast as possible to the ferry, while the Aqua members had already got onboard. The ferry started moving. "I'm not gonna make it."

The ferry was getting away and Dan was still a hundred metres away from it. "I'm not gonna make it, Noah."

"I know you can do it, just ran faster." Noah crossed his fingers. Dan was running on the edge of the seashore, still a few metres away from the ferry.

"I'M NOT GONNA MAKE IT!" Dan shouted. He pushed himself harder, his legs started paining, he was tired and wanted to catch a breath. At that moment, he closed his eyes, trying to run faster.

Suddenly, he couldn't feel the ground, he was moving his legs to run but his legs no longer touched the sand on the beach. He opened his eyes and screamed.

"I'm flying! I'm flying!" Dan cheered.

"You're what?! What? How? You're flying? What do you mean you're flying?" Asked Noah.

"I don't know-" Dan felt a heavy weight on his back, it was a weird feeling for him. He tilted his head to look what it was. He had grown two green colored wings, similar to a Scyther's. "Holy spirit of fairy godmother. I have wings."

"Too much Redbull or what?" Asked Noah.

Dan tried to control his wings and found it quite simple, it was like clapping his hands level simple. He could control the speed and direction of his wings at will. "Alright, turns out I'm faster than the ferry."

"You made it?!" Noah cheered.
"Affirmative."

NOW

"Alright, trainers. If you keep quiet and behave yourselves, no harm will be caused. The ropes on your hands and around your body are pretty tight. I'll leave your Pokéballs here in this box, even if you untie your ropes, you'll need a key to open the box." The Aqua Member smiled and closed the door on his way out.

"I thought these organisations stole Pokémon." Brendan asked. "Nope, just Team Rocket." May explained.

"We need to get out of here." Red moved his hands, trying to untie the ropes. "Someone could get hurt out there. What could Team Aqua be doing here?"

"Only way to find out is getting these damn ropes off." Leaf tried to move her chair. She stretched her feet to reach the floor and then tried to walk on her toes.

"What are you doing?" Red asked.

Leaf slowly tip-toed to Red and tried to sit back-to-back with him. "I'm trying to do this. Now our hands are near each others, try untying the ropes from my hands."

"Damn she's smart." Brendan tried to clap but couldn't.

Leaf moved alot and got the ropes off her hands. She quickly walked to Red and untied him. In no time, all of them were untied.

"To the bigger problem, how do we unlock this box?" Asked May. "All our Pokéballs are in it."

"Break the lock." Leaf looked around, finding something hard enough to break the lock open. "Brendan. May. Can you try opening this while Red and I go outside to figure out what's happening?"

"Ugh, alright." Brendan sighed.

Red and Leaf hurried outside, all the passengers were sitting on their tables, trying not to get up and cause any more problems. Team Aqua members were nowhere to be found.

A loud thud was heard.

"Where are they?" Asked Leaf to the passengers. A few of them pointed in the direction of the upper deck. They both hurried towards the staircase.

A loud noise was heard. This time it was a bang.

They reached the upper deck. Cassidy and Butch guarded the staircase, both seemed really scared.

"What's going on?" Asked Red.

"Team Aqua guys are here to steal this really expensive car, but as they were about to do that. Some guy showed up and started fighting them." Said Butch. "We're just standing here to avoid getting beaten up by that guy."

Red and Leaf walked further, leaving Cassidy and Butch behind. The deck was filled with unconscious Team Aqua members lying on the floor. Then there he was, the mysterious guy, a guy in a green spandex suit with a Scyther mask and two green wings which looked goofy to Leaf.

The guy punched an Aqua member who immediately went unconscious. As soon as his fist made contact with the Aqua member's face, white colored sparkles came out of the guy's hands.

An Aqua member tackled the Scyther-masked-guy but he somehow dodged it and started flying. His wings moving rapidly like that of a Scyther.

The masked guy walked towards the little girl who was hiding in a corner, scared, away from Team Aqua members.

"Hello there." Said the Scyther-guy. "Come on, I'm gonna take you to your mom."

The little girl screamed.

"Okay, okay, okay." He removed his mask, revealing his face to the girl and his funny messed up hair. "See, just a guy. Come on."

The little girl smiled, looking at his weird hair. She walked towards him. Dan stood on his knees and wiped the girl's tears. He picked her up in his arms and turned around.

Red and Leaf stared at him. "You were flying." Leaf was shocked. She couldn't comprehend how a person could even have wings on his back.

Dan tilted his head to see the wings. "Oh god." The wings folded and went inside his body, leaving his green spandex suit with two big symmetrical holes on the back.

"Wow. So you're like a real life superhero with actual powers?" Red was excited to know all about the guy.

Dan looked upwards, trying to make up an answer. He was worried that he had revealed his identity to alot of people.

"Tell them you're the Human Scyther." Noah shouted in Dan's ears.

"Don't worry, your identity stays with us. Besides we don't even know you, so..." Red shrugged.

"I still can't believe how chill you are knowing I have two wings." Dan complained. "I would totally freak out and probably faint."

Dan wore his mask back on and took the girl to his mother. Red and Leaf just followed Dan around. The ferry reached Slateport City.

The police came in and arrested all the Team Aqua members. Cassidy and Butch had escaped by then, continuing their own mission.

"So, what else can you do?" Asked Red.

"Haven't I seen you before?" Asked Dan. "Did you participate in some Pokémon League this year?"

"Indigo. Yeah." Red tried not to remember what he did. "Can you spit poison? Can you summon an army of Scythers?"

"Well, I just started. Don't even have a name. My friend says I should call myself the Human Scyther." Dan laughed.

"Haha. That's weird, no." Leaf said.

"Okay, I should probably go, actually. Go luck on your Pokémon Trainer thingy." Dan put his mask back on and walked away.

"Goodbye, Scyther-Man." Red shouted. Dan did not even turn around.

Brendan and May came running outside. "Okay, we broke the lock." Said Brendan. "Now what?"

Leaf facepalmed.
