April 7, 2016

"How long before the machine is ready to use?" Asked Saturn, a Team Galactic Commander. He reached for his gun and pulled it out. "And ofcourse, you know what happens if it doesn't work."

"That won't be necessary, sir." Said the head scientist. "We have been working on this since the day Cyrus disappeared. It would work just fine."

"And how am I supposed to come back?" Saturn did not want to mess anything up. Infact, he already knew how he was going to make his wag back, but he just wanted to make sure if anything changed on the technical side of things.

"The Translocator. We have already set the device accordingly, making it as easy as pushing a button to escape the Distortion World. Once you find Cyrus, use the Translocator to open a rift. Theoretically, the rift should grow into a full sized portal through which you can walk through and ofcourse, come back here." Explained the head scientist.

"What do you mean theoretically?" Asked Saturn, frustrated by the scientists behaviour. He had been very irritating for the past few months. Saturn is mostly unable to understand what the scientists are blabbering about half of the time.

"It means that we know it would work. We just haven't tried it practically because of how much energy it's going to consume. And we only have enough for one round trip." Explained the head scientist.

Saturn closed his eyes, smirking, as he stood on the top of the Spear Pillar, located in the heart of Mount Coronet in the Sinnoh Region. Legends say that Arcues, the Alpha Pokémon, created the legendary Dialga, Palkia and Giratina on the top of this pillar.

Suddenly, footsteps approached Saturn as he looked closely towards the staircase. Two familiar Pokémon Trainers appeared as Saturn smirked. "Red and Dawn, why am I not surprised? Infact I have been waiting for-"

"Just a minute." Dawn fell to her knees, panting. "Sorry there were too many stairs. How did you manage to climb all of those? No, better question, how did you manage to get that portal device thing up here?"

"The portal device thing is called the Red Chain. It harnesses the power of the legendary Pokémon-" Said Saturn, interrupted once more.

"Could the name be any more lame?" Asked Dawn. "Firstly, you're calling a device that can enable the user to travel to a different realm Red Chain. Secondly, it has Red in it."

"Hey!" Red pointed out. "That's mean, honestly you can make better jokes than that." He turned to Saturn. "Turning that device on could have catastrophic consequences that you're not ready for. You can kaboom the entire city, don't you get that? Even Professor Rowan explained all of this to you, what's the part that you don't understand, Saturn?"

"The part where Cyrus is stuck in the Distortion World. And as the first level commander, it's my duty to rescue him. For the mean time, Charon can handle things for me. Right?" Saturn looked at Charon and gestured, while Charon understood the sign.

Suddenly, more footsteps approached and everyone turned to the staircase. Two familiar FBI agents appeared from the staircase.

"Looker and Felicia, welcome to paradise!" Saturn smirked the entire time, as if somehow he was one step ahead of everyone else, as if somehow he was the smartest person in the room. Saturn gestured again to Charon.

Charon, the second level commander, was already standing in a corner with all the control switches. He punched one of the buttons and shouted. "Initiate lockdown!"

A team of Team Galactic members was about to come at the top of the Spear Pillar, footsteps could be heard loud and clear. The button that Charon pressed initiated a metal barrier that began to appear from the ground to block access to the Red Chain (the portal device).

Saturn had turned on the Red Chain, waiting while it powered itself and the empty ring started emerging a pinkish-purple color, slowly filling the entire ring.

"The metal barrier is almost closed. What do we do?" Felicia asked Looker, looking at the arsenal of Team Galactic members.

"Don't worry about it." Red unclicked a Pokéball from his belt. "We got this. Go Lucario!" Exchanging a smile with Dawn. "Alright then,  Glaceon, I choose you!" They sent out their Pokémon to fight the majority of Team Galactic, while Looker and Felicia went after Saturn.

The metal barrier closed. Looker and Felicia were able to make it past it and reached the Red Chain device. "Where is he? Where is Saturn?" Looker demanded.

"He just went inside." The head scientist said.

"And how are we supposed to get out if we go after him?" Asked Felicia. "Be quick."

"Saturn has the Translocator." Said the head scientist. "Use that device to open a rift back to this place. The rift should slowly grow into-"

"Yeah we got it!" Said Looker, jumping inside the portal, followed by Felicia. They both slowly warped into the Distortion World.

Sometime Later

"I know where Saturn is." Felicia had been searching the Distortion World for a few weeks now, to find any traces of Saturn. And she had finally figured out where he was. "Come on."

Looker quitely followed Felicia. He was tired, but also glad that they could go without food or water in this realm. Since the realm was made of antimatter, the body did not age even a single second, hence it did not require any nourishment whatsoever.

"There!" Felicia stopped, pointing at a house. "Now quitely." She pulled put her gun. Looker continued after her while they got closer to the house. He pulled out his gun and gestured Felicia to go towards the main door, while he tried to sneak in from the back.

Looker walked to a window and saw two men, none of them looked like Saturn at all. But it was too late. "FBI, freeze!" Felicia kicked the main door and barged inside, with Dr. Silverman at her gunpoint.

Looker quickly got in from the back window and joined the rest, quickly recognizing the Team Galactic Leader - Cyrus. "Cyrus? You're alive!" Looker cheered, handcuffing him. "You are underarrest for your crimes against the people of the Sinnoh Region and several other charges. You have the right to remain silent."

"Looker? What are you doing here? How did you even get here? Who is this clown?" Asked Cyrus, looking at Felicia, irated.

"What's going on here?" Asked Dr. Silverman.

"Who are you? Are you with Cyrus?" Felicia pulled out another pair of handcuffs and walked towards Dr. Silverman.

Dr. Silverman explained everything to the two FBI Agents. How he got here, how he met Cyrus. "So you're telling me, this guy is a national criminal?" Asked Dr. Silverman. "Who intended to capture Giratina and rule the world? That's hilarious."

"But what's more mind bending is that. You got here a few months back and you're from 1969. We got here a few weeks back, and we're from 2016. But Cyrus got here today and he's from 2014. How is this possible?" Looker's head started to get heavy by the complexity of the matter.

"The only explanation I have is that time is invariable here. And we have no way to get out of this place. Only a hope, if we find Giratina, catch it, somehow harness it's power to our advantage and open a rift that slowly grows into a portal that can take us back home." Explained Dr. Silverman. "If home still exists."

Looker and Felicia exchanged looks and smiled. "Don't you worry, doctor. We'll get you home safely." Said Looker. "The man we came after, Saturn, is here to rescue Cyrus. He has a remote controller thingy that can open a portal back home."

"An extrapolation device." Said Dr. Silverman. "So we find this Saturn. I can't wait to go back home, I just want to meet my nephews."

"Your nephews." Felicia smiled. "Are you close?"

"I'm the only one for them. And I too, don't have any other relative left." Said Dr. Silverman. "If we are to exit this realm, we will get out at the same point in time, unknown of what time we end up in."

"We need to track Saturn down as soon as possible. Where and how can we begin?" Asked Looker.

"We don't need to. You said he is looking for Cyrus right? Then he'll find us." Said Dr. Silverman. "Till then, we wait. We have all the time in the world."

"Dr. Silverman?" Asked Felicia. "Tell me more about your nephews."

"You're from 2016 right? They must be around 70-years-old by then." Said Dr. Silverman. "They're twins. My sister's children. The elder one is Antonio, he also has a birthmark on his right-hand's wrist. That's how I identify them."

"They're identical?" Felicia was fascinated to learn about new people she had never heard of.
"What about the other one?"

"His name is-" Dr. Silverman took a deep breath in before speaking the name. "Giovanni."
