VS Koga

Butch's POV

"How much time do we have?" Asked Giovanni.

"A few months." I said. Giovanni looked surprised and horrified at the same time. "They're looking for the two, the locations are unknown."

"Okay then." Said Giovanni. "Call your partner and tell her that vacation's over. You're going to Hoenn. Though I'll need more information regarding this."

"So you want me to spy on the two teams?" I asked. "Sounds like a plan."

"Yeah. A stupid plan." Said Giovanni. "Join team Magma and ask Cassidy to join Aqua, then you both can easily leak the information to me."

As much as I hated Giovanni, he was smart, but he missed the part where he explained to get into any of those teams. They don't just hire anyone, there is a strict background check and in order to get hired I must-

I had just the idea for me to get into Team Aqua, as for Magma, it was gonna be hard.

"Your flight to Hoenn has been scheduled." Said Giovanni. "Within the next month, both of you should get settled in Magma and Aqua."

Lyra's POV

It had been two days since Red and I won our first Elite four match, and he was still left with three of them. I had been waking up early to train my Pokemon, but today was different, as today, we had our second match.

The second elite was Koga, he was also the gym leader of Fuschia City.

I was going back to the Indigo Plateau from the Victory Road. Yes, I had been training there and my Pokemon were becoming stronger every day, but I expected something more, I had an urge to win the League and it wasn't something I wanted for myself.

Mom and Dad forced me into training but for a change I wanted to do something for them before I started a career in fashion designing, which I was a hundred percent sure would happen someday in the future.

The bright side about training everyday at the Victory Road and battling trainers was that Chikorita had evolved into Bayleef and Sentret had evolved into Furret.

As for the rest of my Pokemon, they sure were getting stronger but didn't evolve. They needed some more time and I was sure I could get past one or two more elites with my current team.

The Johto league was being pretty harsh on Red and any other trainer who had more than 8 gym badges. He had told me that Will recommended him to use a stronger team, so he would probably be using Nidoking and some of his older Pokemon for the next few battles.

Everything was going to be easy and simple for Ethan, he had a perfect team, which was as strong as Red's current team. Ethan had Typhlosion, Pupitar, Xatu, Pichu and the red colored Gyarados. I had no idea what his last Pokemon was.

The clouds rumbled and droplets of water touched the Earth. It had started raining. I must hurry — I thought. Before the clothes get dirty.

I couldn't run as the soil was already wet, and the rain didn't make it easier. I avoided mud and dirt as much as possible, clothes can be dried but cleaning them is a messy business, I doubt the league would have a laundry like the Pokecenters do.

The rain was getting heavier second by second, it was the moment I wished I was with Red. We could just fly the way over to the plateau.

"Need a ride?" Said a voice that came from behind. I turned around to see Silver. Giovanni's runaway son who came out to prove himself as a Pokemon Trainer and a responsible person.

"Silver." I said softly. "Hey."

He detached a Pokeball off his belt. "Go Pidgeot. C'mon, let's get you outta here."

I couldn't say no, we rode the Pidgeot. I tried to say as calm as possible, he somehow made me nervous. There was a sense of uneasiness yet warmth near him.

"So, are you late for the league?" I asked.

"Why would you think that?" He asked, curious. My deduction skills turned out to be terrible.

"Um, you were coming from somewhere."

He looked at me. "Yeah, I was training, at the Victory Road."

He was exactly like me. Unlike Red and Ethan, we trained our Pokemon.

"Koga's battle is going to be easy, if you have fire types on your team." Said Silver.

"He's a grass type trainer?"

"Bug." Said Silver. "You have a fire type, right?" He looked at me. I hesitated. "No" I said.

Kevin's POV

"Would you please tell me where are we going?" I asked my partner. Aurora looked at me while driving and then back at the road.

"Kevin, you'll know when we're there."

For the past few months since the asteroid crash, we've been here in the Hoenn region, investigating on the strange things happening related to it. According to Hoenn history, a similar asteroid had crashed decades ago.

"Huh, we have a bigger problem." Said Aurora, looking at me. "But before that, I need to talk to someone."

We stopped outside a laboratory.

"We're in Littleroot Town?"

Aurora walked out without a word, and inside the laboratory.

Lyra's POV

"I'll be using 4 Pokemon." Said Koga. "Are you ready?"

"I'm ready." I said.

"Go Yanma." Koga sent out his first Pokemon.

I had no idea what to use against a bug type. What did Red use against a bug type? — I thought. Ugh he would just use his Pikachu.

"Go Bayleef." I said. "Use Razor leaf."

The attack had no major effect. This battle was completely stupid, I had never fought bug types before except for that gym battle against Bugsy. And for the record, he let me win.

"Yanma!" Said Koga. "Use Sleep powder."

Yanma's attack missed. This was a good chance at a one hit K.O, if it was possible.

"Bayleef, use Magical Leaf."

Kevin's POV

"What is it?" Asked Professor Birch.

Aurora seemed confident and ready with a ton of questions. It seemed like she was gonna give him a million dollars for all the correct answers.

"You have encountered a similar thing before haven't you?" Aurora irated. "And don't lie to me, I went throught old Petalburgh archives. Decades ago a triangular shaped asteroid crashed and was followed by a purple light."

She showed him the newspaper. I glanced at the paper and saw the same thing that crashed a few months ago.

"It says here, clearly." She continued. "Samuel Oak and his intern started investigation on the matter and are convinced that it is a new species of Pokemon."

"Stop." Said Birch. "See, I don't want you to continue this research or whatever you're trying to prove. Yes, this has happened before but I'm afraid I can't tell you anything."

"What is it that you're hiding that even NASA doesn't know about?" I asked.

"If that thing's whereabouts are unknown, NASA can't do anything." Said Birch. "And a few members of NASA are in on it. I request you to stay away from this subject."

Lyra's POV

"Congratulations. I wasn't expecting that you'd be able to win this, but here you are. That's just the hardwork paying off." Said Koga.

I was so happy, I won the second elite battle. And so did Red. Only two more battles and we'll be battling against each other, or maybe Ethan, it could really be anybody.

Red wanted to call home, but he wanted to surprise his mother by winning the Johto league. He was too confident with it that he'd be able to win it with his eyes closed.

And all I could do was support him. It was extraordinary that I was able to make it so far. I wanted nothing else but a nice podium finish, it'd be enough to make my parents happy.
