The Mystery Trainer

Lyra's POV

Ethan and I continued on Route 30, looking for Mister Pokemon's House. It was very hot and I removed my hat off and removed my hair band, my hair fall over to my shoulders. I kept my hat in my bag.

'Do you know where the house is ?', asked Ethan, looking at his Pokegear.

'What are you looking for in the Pokegear ?', I asked, looking at the Pokegear.

'Ah, nothing. I was wondering if I could find Mister Pokemon's house in the map', said Ethan, placing his hand at the back of his head. 'But, I didn't'.

'It's not possible to find someone's house in a map', I said. 'Unless, that person is the president or something'.

'You're right', said Ethan, smiling, and dropping his Pokegear in his bag.

'Ah, I'm tired now', I said, and stopped walking. 'This is taking us nowhere, maybe we should ask for directions'.

'Well, I don't see a person here, whom should I ask ? The tree or the bush ?', asked Ethan, irritated. 'I'm tired too, but I'm still here only because of you'.

'I told you already that I'm not taking you with me, you could go if you want', I said.

'I think I told this thing to you', said Ethan, correcting me.

'Just go', I said, pointing towards where we were headed.

'Fine ! I guarantee that I'll collect all the gym badges before you do', said Ethan, walking away.

'Yeah, we'll see', I said, still standing there. I was left alone as Ethan walked away. I looked at Marill, who just woke up and tried to understand what was happening.

'Now what do I do ?', I asked her.

Marill lifted her shoulders and said ,'Marill ?'.

The area was completely quiet, giving off a dramatic feel with soft air and a few leaves following the air.

'You gonna stand like that ?', asked a man, he wore a white shirt and had a tiny ingredient called grumpiness.

'Uh, what ?', I asked, trying to understand what he was talking about.

'You wanna go to Bart Pokemon's house right ? It's that way', he said, pointing towards a huge tree on a hill which wasn't far away.

'Uh, thanks', I said, trying to smile.

'Any time, do check out my apricorns', said the man, pointing at some plants with apricorns on their top.

'I will', I said, nodding but in a hurry.

'Okay, then', he said, he walked away.

I started to walk on the directed way. The path I was directed to had a lot more vegetation, trees were double the amount, grasses were taller and dark in color.

All of the sudden, a house appeared in a distance. I ran towards the house, taking longer steps to avoid the wet grass.

Finally, I reached the house I did the walking for. I was excited that maybe I could get something out of my hard work, but my brain wouldn't agree that any of that was going to happen.

I rang the doorbell and waited. I looked at the house carefully, it was small, one-storied. Bartholomew Pokemon was carved on the door along with two other names - Fenella Pokemon and Drishti Pokemon.

I didn't know any of those people, except for Bartholomew Pokemon, also known as Mister Pokemon. Professor Elm called him Bart at times, good friends maybe.

Suddenly, an man of mid fifties opened the door. He had black hair with some white at random places, his face had a dark complexion and he was really tall. He wore a brown suit with a black tie.

'Hello there, welcome-', he said, interrupted by a voice. Mr. Pokemon's voice was deep and hazy.

'I've done that already, Bart', said the voice.

'Oh, okay', he said, then turned towards me. 'You must be Leaf'.

'Ahem, Lyra', corrected the voice.

'Oh, yes. Lyra, from Pallet-', said Mr.Pokemon, again interrupted.

'Um, New Bark Town', said the voice. 'You know what, let her inside first'.

'Right ! Come on in', said Mr. Pokemon.

I followed him inside. The interior was small as expected, there was a sitting area on entering and two doors across the area.

The sitting area consisted of three couches, a small dining table with four chairs and a television. It also had a few book racks and storage shelves.

On one of the couch, sat an old or I should say older man, he had a lab coat on and his head was filled with white hair.

I couldn't see his face until he turned behind, I recognized him from one of Professor Elm's photographs in his lab.

'Professor Oak ?', I said, looking at him. He smiled after hearing his name.

'Lyra, I'm glad you're here. Did you manage to catch any Pokemon yet ?', he asked.

'Not yet, I have to buy Pokeballs first', I said.

'Buy Pokeballs, didn't Elm give you five of them ?', asked Professor Oak.

'No, should he ?', I asked, overexcited.

'Um, apparently yes. But it's okay', he said, going through his pocket. 'Here, take these Pokeballs'.

He handed me five Pokeballs, I kept them in my bag. Professor Oak went through his pocket again to grab something out.

'Here, take this too', he said, taking out a mobile like looking device with a camera at the back.

'No, I have a Pokegear', I said, thinking it to be a Pokegear.

'No, it's not a Pokegear. It's a Pokedex. It's an encyclopedia for Pokemon. Just point the lens towards a Pokemon and it'll give you all it's information', said Professor Oak.

'And I wanted a favour from you. Can you take this parcel back to Professor Elm ?', asked Mr.Pokemon.

'Yeah, sure', I said.

Mister Pokemon held a big box. It was as big as my bag. He handed me the box, it wasnt heavy at all, instead it was light in weight.

I stuffed it inside bag. 'Don't break it', said Professor Oak, worrying about the parcel.

'She'll do it. I know she can', said Mister Pokemon, smiling at me.

I stood up along with my awkwardly big bag. I started to walk out but had a question from Mister Pokemon.

'Mister Pokemon, may I ask who are Fenella and Drishti ?', I asked.

Mister Pokemon smiled. 'Fenella was my wife and Drishti - my daughter, they went through a plane crash in 1998', he said.

'Oh, I'm really sorry', I said, regretting that I asked that question.

'Okay, off you go', said Mister Pokemon.

I went outside and closed the door gently and started to walk back to New Bark Town. I was doing a lot of hard work, and what do I get for it ? An encyclopedia.

Trying to forget all that, I walked through the dry sunny weather.

When I passed Cherry Grove City, I started to look for my watch in the bag. I've been walking for a few hours maybe.

I grabbed out the watch and stuff started to fall outside the bag, I bent a bit and bumped into a guy.

'Are you blind ? Can't you see ?', asked the guy, rudely.

He was the same guy I saw, sightseeing in Professor Elm's Lab.

'Oh, I'm sorry', I said, apologizing.

He started to walk away. My eyes scrolled to the ground, I saw a Trainer Card.

It belonged to the guy I just bumped in. The name was Silver with only one Pokemon on the card - Farfetch'd.

'Hey, gimme my card back', said Silver, snatching it back. 'Oh, no. You saw my name'. He ran away.

'What was that about ?', I said and started to walk to New Bark Town.
