Red's POV

The shrine looked old, felt old and was obviously very old. The shrine looked like it was made centuries ago. But the choice of destination was very bad. Why Ilex Forest ? If it had been Slowpoke Well, it wouldn't be that odd for me.

Moreover, it also didn't have significance. There was no sign or flags on it. It was an abandoned shrine.

'Silver was talking about a Mew clone. It really sounded awesome, but I've never seen a Mew', said Ethan. 'Can I ?'.

'You're asking me as if I have one', I said, it sure was a nonsense talk.

'No. You have it, but you don't, I'm trying to say, Ditto can transform into one', said Ethan.

'You are out of your mind', said Lyra.

'Well, it can transform into a photo right ?', asked Ethan.

I knew what Ethan was hoping, and I decided to show him a real-life Mew. Whether or not it was truly real.

'Okay, go Ditto', I said, throwing the second Pokeball off my belt. I grabbed out the Pokedex from my pocket and opened Mew's Pokedex.

I showed Mew's photo given in the Pokedex and asked Ditto to transform. Ditto flashed blue and grew in size and transformed.

Ditto was an accurate Mew. Ethan cheered in happiness and took a closer look.

'It seems so real. Even when I know it's not', said Ethan. 'Wow'.

'Hey guys', said a familiar voice. I instantly knew it was Bugsy. 'Wait for me'.

He ran towards us and stopped. 'You were leaving without me ?', he gasped.

'We thought you weren't coming', said Lyra. 'Sorry'. Lyra lifted both her shoulders.

'It's alright', said Bugsy. 'I gave the gym leader job to my sister, maybe she's happy now'.

'Your sister ? Is she older than you ?', asked Ethan, smirking.

'No, she's younger', said Bugsy. 'I also gave my Pokemon to her'.

'What? That's...not good', said Ethan. 'You do have Pokemon with you ?'.

Suddenly, I felt something vibrating in my bag. I was dragged along with my bag towards the shrine. 'What is happening ?'. I screamed.

'Get rid of the bag'. Ethan pulled me away from the shrine and threw my bag away. My bag dragged itself to the shrine.

I quickly opened the zips of my bag and the box containing the GS Ball shoot outside. It started to rattle and shook.

Lyra picked up the box and I shouted, 'No !'. But she anyways opened it. The GS Ball fell on the slushy grass and vibrated.

Ditto flew towards me. Lyra and I bent down and touched the Pokeball together.

Suddenly, I fell to the ground. I could still feel the ball in my hand. I looked around, it was night time. Lyra was next to me, trying to get up. I stood straight and found myself lying on wet grass, it was raining heavily.

Ditto was fooling around as Mew.

'Where are we ?', asked Lyra. She picked up her bag which lied on the moist soil, which was now dirty. She quickly grabbed out the egg she received and checked whether it was damaged.

I looked around and saw a familiar place. I hesitated. 'I think I know where we are'.

'Where ?'. Lyra put the egg back into her bag and walked to me.

'In Pallet Town', I replied. I was dreaming, clearly. It was impossible that after touching the GS Ball, I teleported to Pallet Town. My head felt heavy and I had a vomit sensation.

'P-Pallet Town ?', stammered Lyra. 'Holy Harry Potter. This thing is a portkey'.

'A what ?', I asked, clearly not knowing anything about Harry Potter.

'A portkey. It is used to teleport on the desired location', explained Lyra. 'Anywhere around the globe'.

But my world wasn't based on Harry Potter. This was something else. I could've believed the concept of the portkey, but I didn't feel like believing that.

'Oh my God', I said, surprised. 'I do not even know where we are, but I also know when we are'.

'What do you mean ?', asked Lyra, she looked at what I was looking at. 'Unbelievable'.

It was...me. And I also knew how. 'Red, what's going on, I need an explanation'. Lyra was freaked out.

'I will, but first, we need to get away from him', I said, I gestured Ditto to follow.

We started running towards Route One while hiding from the other me. Meanwhile, Ditto, who was transformed into Mew made an aura around itself flew towards Route One.

The other me looked at Ditto, who was still Mew. And he walked towards the PokeMart with an umbrella in his hand, folded.

He was soaked in water. But I paid no attention and got away. We stopped near the last house in Pallet Town.

The house had a small farm next to it and the plants were drowning. The water was filled to the top.

Ditto used Mew's psychic abilities to get rid of the water and created a barrier around the plants so that the rainwater doesn't touch them.

A woman walked out of the house. Ditto quickly transformed back to itself to avoid attention.

'Thank you, kids, for saving my precious plants. I asked my son to throw the water away using a bucket but you already did it. Thanks for your help', said the woman.

'Uh, it's nothing, really', said Lyra. 'We better get going'.

'Wait, I made some cookies, would you kids like to have some ?', asked the woman, gently.

'Uh, no. Sorry, we need to be somewhere else. Thanks', I said, dragging Lyra along. We walked a few meters away. The woman walked inside and I stopped.

'What ?', asked Lyra, needing an explanation.

'I think we just traveled back in time', I said. 'And I also know who to consult'.

Professor Oak's POV

I was in my lab. It was getting late, but still, I had to set up some things for tomorrow. Tomorrow was a big day for new Pokemon Trainers. One of them being my own grandson.

I reminded myself that I had already talked to Red about getting to my lab early in the morning. I wanted a parcel delivered to me, and I could only trust Red with that. The kid was responsible. On the other hand, was my irresponsible grandson, who wasn't even sure what starter he was going to pick.

Whenever I asked him, he replied with - Whatever Red chooses, I'll choose the stronger one. That's my plan.

He just wanted to be better than Red in every way. And I had to make sure he tried his best. I taught him everything about Pokemon and he mastered it, not because he was intelligent, but because he had a good teacher.

I was about to place the three starters on my table when the bell rang. I was surprised, who could be there this late?

I walked to the door and opened it. I was met with two faces. One was Red and the other one was unknown.

Red was with a girl of the same age. She somewhat resembled Red and both wore Pokemon Trainer outfits.

Red had a packed bag on his shoulders, a belt with six Pokeballs attacked. And he looked different, he looked older.

He was soaked in water. Water was dripping from his clothes like he was out there for an hour. His shoes had mud on them along with his trousers.

'Red ? Uh, I'm confused. Why are you wearing these clothes now ? I thought I was loud and clear. I told you to come tomorrow, not today', I said, hesitant, my mind was flooded with questions.

'I think we might have a problem', said Red, exchanging looks with the girl.

Red's POV

I explained everything in detail to Professor Oak. His face went pale, he had no idea what to do. He couldn't even process the fact of time travel. He roamed here and there, thinking.

'This is not real, this is not real', he chanted. I walked to him. 'How is this even possible ?'.

'We don't know', said Lyra.

'Wait, who is this girl ?', asked Professor Oak. He started fiddling with his computer. 'No need, she's your cousin sister'.

'Okay, I know it sounds insane, but it's true', I said, overexcited.

'It does. You mean you are the Kanto Champion now ?', asked Oak.

'Yes'.
'It's okay I didn't have expectations from Blue anyways'.
'And you are from which date ?'.
'7 April 2014'.
'Great Scott. You know if you give any more details about your time to me. There is a possible chance of the timeline to change when you go back'.
'You are telling me we shouldn't be having this conversation right now ?'.
'Exactly. Did you interact with anyone else ?'.
'Yes, a woman. We didn't say much'.
'Hm. I don't know, but I need to send you back'.
'Wait, I wanted to tell you something. Something that I should've told the future you'.

Professor Oak walked forward. 'What ?', he whispered. His curiosity rose to a new level.

I explained to him how I got my Eevee, which evolved into Jolteon.  A man gave me the Eevee in Celadon City on the rooftop of the Celadon Supermarket.

He told me it was mine and that I asked him to protect it. He also mentioned a girl with a Marill. Lyra always carried her Marill on her shoulder, but she sleeps all the time.

After checking the owner information, we got to know that the Eevee belonged to me. It was caught in Violet City that too 4 months from then.

When I reached Violet City, I caught Eevee. And now I was there, back in time, and I was supposed to give the Eevee to the man to maintain the timeline.

'Interesting', said Professor Oak. 'But there should be a reason of you handing the Eevee to the man. And if you want to return, just do what you did last time. Chances are, you will return, or you will have to wait until someone creates a time machine'.

'First, we need to give my Eevee to that guy', I said. 'I'll have to go. Come on, Lyra'.

'Now ?', asked Lyra.

'Don't mess up with anything. Just give the Eevee and go back', said Professor Oak.

'Okay. I'll call you when I go back. And why didn't you gave my dad's Pikachu to me earlier ?', I asked.

'Your dad's Pikachu ? Yes I was going to give it to you tomorrow, when you chose your starter. It was your dad's wish', said Oak.

'Do you know what happened to him ?', I asked.

'I don't. But he knew what was going to happen to him. After I came back from my Summer Camp, two years back, he came to me at night and gave me his Pikachu. He asked me to give it to you when you were about to choose your starter. Whatever happened to him, he was aware of it. I believe it was a murder, not an accident'.

'What ? Why didn't you tell that to me before ?'.

'Don't ask anything. You need to go, give the Eevee to that man and go back'.

I nodded and rushed outside along with Lyra. The rain was continuous.

'So, are we flying on Charizard ?', asked Lyra.

'Yes', I replied. 'But first I need to do something'.

Red's POV (Past Self)

I woke up at night, thirsty. Tomorrow was a very special day for me. Not only because it was my 10th birthday, but also because I was going to get a starter Pokemon tomorrow.

I slowly walked down the stairs in the dark and to the kitchen. I filled a glass of cold water and sipped it slowly.

I knew I was missing my father after I looked at his photographs hanging on the wall next to the fridge. The photos were taken when I caught my first Pokemon - Polywag.

I had the Polywag in my arms. Dad was standing next to me with his arm around my shoulder. We both looked happy.

A drop of tear slid down my cheek and onto the floor. I felt bad, he couldn't even see me become a trainer.

Suddenly, the kitchen was filled with a pink light. The light was coming from the window to my left. I walked to the window, only to see the pink Pokemon I saw before when I was heading to the PokeMart.

The Pokemon said, 'Mew', and flew away. I was surprised but my sleep attracted me back to my room.

Red's POV (Present Self)

I gestured thumbs up to Ditto. 'Okay, Ditto. I need you to come back now'. I called Ditto back in his Pokeball.

'Go Charizard'. Charizard came out and roared. 'Silently'. I looked at Lyra and our eyes met.

We nodded and sat on Charizard's back. Charizard took off.
