Rosa's pov

I woke up in my room and stretched my arms "nothing's better than sleeping on a bed" I yawned. Meloetta was flying around with a Pokeball in her hand "what you got there?"

'Someone...' she winked while singing 'someone that heard you sing and wanted to come along~' she gave me the Pokeball

"You captured a pokemon without my permission??" She shrugged

'It's not like you're my official master' I rolled my eyes and used my hands to lift my body to stand, I accidentally pressed on my hair and fell onto the floor downward

"Ow..." I heard the door knock

"Rosa?? Are you alright?" Nate's voice worried. I didn't answer. the door opened and let him in in a flash. he stared at me with wide eyes "whoa..." I stood up after moving my hair and walking to the dresser "Rosa, when was the last time you cut your hair?" I started thinking

"13" his jaw dropped "it would've been longer but Team Plasma cut my hair shorter"

"How shorter? We're talking about 4 years ago. was Team Plasma even a thing back then?" I nodded

"Yes, but it was under construction, you can say that" I looked at myself in the mirror "so about pass my elbow... as you can see" I lift my hair "it grew the pass 4 years"

"Have you considered a hair cut? Because it's about 10 inches on the ground. much longer than it was at the cafe" I looked down at the tips

"I suppose it is... my hair grew since we separated" he frowned "I don't know about cutting it... I'm pretty use to it and you wouldn't know if it's that long if I didn't pull up my hair" he walked up to me and lift my hair to his head, mimicking a girl

"How I look?" He winked girlily. I bit my lips and held in my laughter. he looked ridiculous!

"Very lovely" he laughed and dropped my hair

"You're not so bad yourself" I blushed and started fixing my hair to their side buns "sorry I walked into your room, I heard a loud bump"

"Yeah" I wrapped my hair in the scarfs and twist them around "I pressed on my hair"

"I'm sure you did" I ignored him and continued doing my thing "not that I don't like your hair" I smiled and completed my look till the ends of my hair were on my hips

"Yep" I looked over at him looking around "are we in Castelia yet?"

"For an hour" I sweat dropped and went to do my business in the bathroom and came out

"Okay, I'm ready" I saw him looking at the Pokeball Meloetta gave me "that? Meloetta caught me a Pokemon"

"Really? What's in it?"

"Not sure" I took the ball from him and put it in my bag "shall we?" He nodded with a smile and held my hand, off the boat. I blushed and stared at our hands holding each others. I like this feeling, it makes me happy...

We stepped off the boat and looked at my old home that I used to live for 2 years. before living in Castelia and before I became part of Team Plasma, I had lived in the woods with a few Pokemon. I remembered it was a Darmanitan, a eevee, a few Woobat, a Chinchou that lived in the water, and a zorua... I never knew what happened to them, but I had remembered that they were mistreated Pokemon, and saved my life from that burning car my parents died in

I sighed depressed and snatched my hand away from Nate. he frowned and looked at my eyes "what's wrong?"

"Nothing" I said rather harshly. he sighed and looked at the city

"I'm sure Hugh already came here..." he said to himself, I looked around "knowing him, I'm sure he's already here and looking for them right now" I looked up and saw a strange looking ship that doesn't look like it should be from this time era, whatever

Meloetta appeared in front of us 'lets go!' She teleported us in front of a building with a Pokemon gym sign... I remember this place.

"No way" I sweat dropped "I already have two badges, I'm not wasting my time again!" Nate looked at me

"When did you get the second one?"

"Meloetta had me do it" he nodded understanding and spoke to a old man standing in front of the doors. he came back to me

"He said that the Gym Leader, Burgh, had left saying that there was trouble... lets go check it out" I shrugged

"Huh? Burgh vanished again?" A girl voice asked. we turned around and saw a dark skinned girl with big hair rushing to us

"Oh! Hello Iris!" The man greeted "something came up, and Burgh isn't here right now" Iris started thinking

"Isn't Burgh always vanishing though? He says he's got artist block and just goes wandering out of the gym"

"Artist block? That's stupid" I comment

"Hey... don't be rude" Nate frowned. I stared at him for a moment then looked away while crossing my arms. "I'm sorry about that miss, my friend is a bit grumpy" he excused and showed her two badges "Code name: Sam at your service. you are speaking to a World International Police" he says proudly "and this is my lovely partner, Rapunzel, as you can see here" he refers to the wallets "we are looking for a group of people who call themselves Team Plasma, heard of them?" Iris nodded

"Of course! But they disbanded two years ago"

"Well now they're not" I snapped "do you know where they are or n-" he put his hand over my mouth and brought my back to his chest

"Do you know where they are ma'am?" He asked kindly

"No, I don't. but I will help you out!" She started thinking "hm... now where would suspicious people go to hide?" Nate looked down at me. I glared and looked away, letting him keep my mouth covered

'Oh! I know! I know! Follow me!' Meloetta cheered and flew off. Nate put me on his shoulder and begun following her while Iris followed behind and stared at me

"What are you staring at?" I snarled

"You have a Meloetta... that means you must be Rosa!" I blushed

"Ah, you must be a gym leader then" she giggled

"It's very nice to meet you!" She smiled brightly "I heard so much from Angel!" I rolled my eyes

"Whatever" she giggled and kept following Nate to the other side of the city, near where the bridge that lead to Pinwheel Forest, Thumb Pier. the only suspicious part of the city's would be the alley way, Thumb Pier and narrow street

Nate put me down and looked at an opening with Meloetta "the sewers? Really?" I made a face

"Seems pretty suspicious" Iris thought. I saw Hugh running over to Nate.

"Nate! Did you find Team Plasma!?"

"Not yet" Nate said. he always acts so serious when it comes to his job... do I get paid in this job?

"Augh!" Hugh complained "those dirty Pokemon thieves! That means the only place I still haven't check is..." he looked at the entrance of the sewers "Nate, help me out!" He ran in

"Yep!" Iris smiled "the sewers are a perfect place for hiding" I smirked

"Right? Even though it smells like you haven't bathe in weeks" I muttered. Nate chuckled and walked me in the disgusting place. Hugh was just in the entrance

"Why is she here?" He snarled at me

"She's my partner Hugh" Nate said while walking as Meloetta lead the way

"How you know she isn't a spy? She could still be part of Team Plasma and we wouldn't even know it" Nate rolled his eyes

"Remember Hugh, I know when people are lying, she's in our side" I found myself smiling, but quickly brushed it off

"Tch... whatever..." Hugh muttered.
luckily there was no water in here, so we easily ran through. Meloetta lead us to where Team Plasma were

"Hey!" Hugh yelled at Chris and Carter. Chris looked at us annoyed. he was last best of everyone in Team Plasma, but I'm sure it didn't get him anywhere, just look at where he's at

"What do you want?" He asked

"You villains!" Hugh glared

"What? Don't treat us like villains!" He looked at me and had his whole face reddened "a-and don't interfere with our plans to liberate Pokemon!" He tried to keep his cool and act like I wasn't staring at him

"Liberate? Ha! You're just ordinary Pokemon thieves! And what's more, you use those stolen Pokemon like they're tools!" Hugh said

"Shaddup! Hand over your-" I walked up to him and faced him, both him and Carter froze "J-Jade!" He sat on their knee for respect, that wasn't necessary, even though I was one of Team Plasmas best grunts, I wasn't much in the action, but I was high enough to actually stand guard for Lord Ns throne room...

"You fools" they flinched "hiding in here like a couple of sissies" they stood up

"W-we're sorry.." they should know I'm not part of their team, but they still fear me, I find that hilarious

"Hand over the Pokemon you stole" they looked at each other nervously "now!" I send out Smeargle "don't make me do this" they still wouldn't hand them over "fine, Smeargle, Sketch" Smeargle grabbed its tail and started drawing in the air, making the painting come to life and make spiders crawl towards them. they shouted in fear and ran away after throwing the Pokeballs at me

I snorted and faced Meloetta "take these to their owners..." she nodded and disappeared. I faced the boys. Nate was smiling at me while Hugh looked away

"Cool" Nate comment and locked my arm around his "lets go look for some more so I can see how tough of a grunt you use to be" huh??

"That won't be necessary you three" a man said with brown shaggy hair and tight clothes said. who was this guy? Oh wait... nevermind, I seen his work around Castelia, they're terrible

"Could you be the gym leader Burgh?" Hugh asked. oh great! Another damn gym leader that might know who I am!

"Yessir! One and the same! I'm Burgh!" He smiled "and there was no one suspicious beyond here!" Hugh huffed

"Is that..?" Burgh nodded

"Yes indeed! I'm concerned about Team Plasma as well. more importantly, shall we leave this place?"

"Yes! Please!" I groaned and started walking off on my own, Nate grabbed my hand "hey!"

"Didn't you and the other gym leaders fight Team Plasma two years ago?" Hugh asked Burgh. Hugh looked at me, gave me a face and faced Nate "I'll find those other Team Plasma punks! I-I'll never forgive Pokemon thieves! No way!" I frowned and held my heart, then looked away. I had always noticed that he's been angry because his sisters pokemon was stolen. I know that he doesn't know that I'm trying to help him find it, but whatever, he doesn't need to know. he huffed and left

"Sme..." Smeargle tugged on my foot. I looked up and saw a blonde scientist with a strange blue hair strap, walking towards us

"You there.." he looked at me "I've seen what you had done to the pair, I believe you use to be part of Team Plasma, am I correct? What other reason would those two kneel for you?" I rolled my eyes

"None of your damn business!" He chuckled

"Interesting..." he walked pass us. weirdo...

"Who was that?" Burgh asked

"Don't know, don't care" I said

"What are you two going to do now?" He asked us

"My partner wants to challenge you gym!" Nate snapped. I flinched and looked at him like he was crazy!

"No!!" He shut my mouth with his hand and smiled at Burgh

"She's just shy!" Burgh sweatdropped

"I see... well! I look forward to it then!" He left. Nate and I had a big argument through the exit of the sewers about not wanting to challenge the gym

"Mr.Cheren told me you two were alike" he smiled at the floor

"Two?" He nodded

"I spoke with him on the Xtransceiver, he said that Angel wasn't interested in Pokemon Gyms too, but her pokemon made her... like yours, is that a coincidence?" I blushed and walked out the place, ignoring him, and saw Iris walking towards us

"Your friend seemed pretty upset" she frowned

"Don't worry about him" Nate waved his hand

"Did everything go ok in the sewers?" I ignored her and ended up in front of the gym thanks to Meloetta

"You know... You're very annoying" she giggled and flew me in. I looked around the bland place and saw Burgh walking towards me

"You are here to battle, yes?" Before I could say no, Meloetta closed my mouth

'Yes! This is Rosa' Burgh stared at me surprised

"Let me guess... you know me" I asked annoyed

"How you guess?" He chuckled "yes, Angel talked about you all the time" I blushed and looked away "she said you were a lovely person and your voice was beautiful. she didn't really know you enough to actually talk more about you, but either way, I know she cares a lot... she's a very special young lady" I smiled and looked up shyly at him

"Do you know where she is??" My mind said on its own. I put my hands together "please... I wanna see her" I couldn't help but say this... I wanna meet the girl who first cared for me, no one cared about me like how she did after my parents left

Burgh started thinking "the last time I saw her was 2 years ago... Iris might know" I sighed and looked at Meloetta smiling at me "will you be challenging me then?" I guess so

"Sure" I picked up Castforms pokeball

"Splendid! Then follow me to the gym" I followed him to a battle field filled with a side forest filled with some bug type. I lift my arm and saw a pretty beautifly fly to it. I smiled and pet its head

"Wow... you're pretty" it giggled and flew away. I now faced the Gym Leader standing across from me

"Are you ready Rapunzel?" I raised a brow at his mock and released Castform. he send out a Leavanny

"A sewaddle's..." I said to myself "alright then, let's just make this quick"

"Confident are we?" He smiled

"Sure" I shrugged and looked down at my hair, thinking about what Nate told me... should I really cut it? I don't know... it doesn't exactly bother me, only when I wake up, it sort of annoys me every morning, but whatever

"Alright then" Burgh nodded "Leavanny! String Shot!" Leavanny trapped Castform in its silk string. I bit my lips "spin it around!" Leavanny started swinging her in circles in the air. I gasped

"No! Castform! Rain dance!" Castform made it rain inside and allowed the silk to slip off before she could change forms "not bad, no trainer has ever did that" he smiled

"Why thank you, a Gym Leader always have a special ability up his sleeve"

"I see" I lift my hand to catch some rain "Ice beam the floors" Castform nodded and iced the wet floors. making Leavanny frozen

"Oh no!" Burgh gasped. I smirked and dropped the drops of rain in my hand and made it to a fist

"Meloetta, barrier. Castform Use Thunderbolt" Meloetta protected the Pokemon of this gym, while Castform build up electricity, attacked, destroyed the ice and electrified Leavanny to faint

"Amazing!" Burgh smiled while returning his Pokemon, I did the same. "did Angel train you?"

"I wish..." I muttered and send out Chimecho while he send out a Crustle. a rock type, huh? Not only that, it's a bug type. so his gym is full of bug types, I should've figured from all the bug types in here, watching up behind Meloettas barrier

"Lele..." I said to myself. Chimecho nodded and started making a sweet sound to distract the opponents. saying Lele or even singing it was our secret sign. Chimecho is a psychic type, she knows what I want with these words

Crustle indeed got distracted by the sweet sound, perfect time to attack "Psychic..." she nodded and used Psychic on the little bug type. she lift it up in the air and threw it against the ceiling to the iced floor repeatedly. I frowned and snapped my fingers for her to stop. Crustle was already out like a light before it could even let out a move

"Wow... you really impressed me" Burgh smiled while returning his Pokemon "I'm almost afraid to take out my next Pokemon" I took out the Pokeball that Meloetta gave me

"Go Rosa!" I heard Nate cheer. I smiled at him and looked back at the ball

'You should use it..' I looked at Meloetta smiling at me 'I think you'll be very happy to see her again' her..? Burgh released a Vespiquen. flying and bug type... hm

I released whatever was in the Pokeball and saw a large blue fish with a yellow mask and two orbs over its dorsal fin. my body tensed up and I wanted to cry... Lanturn... the Lanturn that took care of me when I was little...

Nate's Pov

I just got done speaking with Iris and found Rosa gone... Meloetta must've took her to the gym or something. I nodded to myself and send Abra out so she can teleport me to the gym. I walked over to the man who was blocking the gym earlier

"Excuse me, is my friend here? She has long brown hair in buns and blue eyes" he nodded and showed me the way to the battle field

"She has already beaten one Pokemon, so you might have the chance to see more" he said. I nodded and rushed to the stands to watch the battle. Rosa was using her Chimecho.

She didn't exactly give a first command to it, she made a sound and Chimecho made a sound to distracted the Crustle. the battle wasn't even so long, Crustle fainted before a command could be called

"Go Rosa!" I cheered. She looked at me and smiled. then looked at the next Pokeball she was going to use... she looks kinda nervous after Meloetta told her something... will she use the new Pokemon she got?

She send out a large Lanturn that laid on the ice swiftly. Rosa looked at it in shock, she nearly looked frozen

"Rosa..?" I asked. Lanturn was looking at her happily, Rosa didn't move a muscle

"You won't go first? I will!" Burgh said before the rain dance stopped in the barrier Meloetta must've made "use Toxic!" Vespiquen took some toxic out its mouth and shot it towards Lanturn. Rosa looked like she's starting to panic. Oh no...

"No! No! No!" She cried "Lanturn!" Lanturn closed its eyes and used protect to block the toxic

"What!?" Burgh gasped. Meloetta levitated to my lap and watched the battle

"Meloetta, what's wrong with Rosa?"

'The truth is... those two know eachother since they were young... Lanturn was one of the Pokemon that took care of her after her parents died... she's just in shock right now and she doesn't want Lanturn to get hurt'

"Why doesn't she just order a attack?"

'She's too in shock to think clearly' I sighed and watched Lanturn take the protect barrier away and jump in place happily

"Lan!" It cheered and used the most powerful Discharge I had ever seen and fainted the Vespique immediately. I jumped off the stand and rushed over to Rosa after the barrier was put down.

Rosa ran off and hugged the Lanturn with millions of tears running down her eyes. I smiled at the sight and walked over to Burgh returning his Pokemon

"She's really something" He smiled. I looked back at her and smiled

"I know... she just found out what the Pokemon was, it was her childhood pokemon and she didn't expect to see it so soon" I explained

"That makes sense" he dug in his pocket and took out a green badge "I shall give her her badge" I stopped him from moving

"May I do it?" He smiled and gave me the badge. I walked over and kneeled to her height. Lanturn looked at me confused

"Lan?" Rosa sniffled and looked at me with shiny blue eyes

"Congratulations" I smiled. she smiled and looked at Lanturn

"This is my Lanturn... she was like a mother to me when I lived in the Pinwheel Forest when I was little... but she disappeared along with all the other Pokemon who took care of me. I haven't seen her in years..." she hugged it passionately "Lanturn, this is my best friend" her... best friend? I smiled happily and wrapped my arm around her shoulder

"Nice to meet you Lanturn" Lanturn smiled "how did it and the rest disappear?" Rosa shrugged and returned it into its Pokeball

"I don't know... but one day, Team Plasma was in the Pinewheel Forest several years ago and I left with them" I nodded and helped her up

"Here" I gave her her badge "you deserve it" I put it on her bag, along with the rest I put on there for her "there" she smiled and held my hands

"Thank you" I smiled and walked her out the gym, holding her hand... I'm happy that she called me her best friend... but I didn't exactly didn't want to be that to her
