So, I was listening to Goldenrod city theme music the entire day cause it became my new favorite tune. While listening, I was scrolling through the comments on YouTube. Many were talking about the goldenrod city gym leader and her miltank, making me wonder if I could beat her on my first try if I could play the game. It was then my eyes came across this particular comment about how one could play Pokémon gold on their phone via a website. It seemed too good to be true, but I searched it up anyways and found the game for free.

Of course, I was elated. I started up the game, named myself Yukio, (only one person would get this) adjusted my timing and grabbed my chikorita named Milo after... well... you know.

I smashed hoothoot and ratata as I carried on to the second city, Cherrygrove I think? Anyways, I made my way up and met Mr Pokémon who gave me an egg to return to Professor Elm. By then, Milo was already level 7 or higher if I remember correctly. I went back down to Cherrygrove, met my rival with red hair and beat his Cyndaquil in like... 2 to 3 hits? I don't know... but Milo was really over leveled. Anyways, I went back, dropped the egg and got Pokeballs for my adventure. I named my rival Silver and told my mum I could take care of my own money. At this point, I've been playing the game for about an hour.

So I left the city again and this time I caught a hoothoot named Kaito after Yuna d Kaito from Cardcaptor Sakura and a spinarak I named Oppo. I beat youngster Yoey, got his number, and carried on a bit.

It was then I decided to on the music.

And chaos.

The entire save file disappeared.

Yes, the entire thing. And mind you I did save the game. However, all of the progress was just gone when I restarted the browser.

I was upset (duh) and I still am as of writing this chapter. Thus, I restarted the game and did a test. I went in, named myself and the chikorita, defeated one Pokémon, saved the game and purposely restarted the browser.

And all the data was lost again.

And... this means that I could never play the game safely on my phone as internet browsers are definitely going to reset every now and then.

And that means that I'll never be able to see if I could beat that miltank on my first try.

It looks like it's true, nothing gold can stay.

Right now, I may forever be an outsider to that game.
