The Ash Tree

It was...silent to say the least. The wind was the only thing making an sought of noise, whispering it's airy words as it passed.

It didn't matter, I wasn't tired, I wasn't hungry, I wasn't thirsty. I haven't moved from here since the last meeting which was about...50 years ago?

Doesn't matter, he'll need me soon, along with everyone else in the court.

For now, I'll sit where I regretted everything.

The wind continued to whisper in her ears, lying against the bark of the ash tree that now stands where her house once stood. She...hated it, what happend here, what she did to her family and friends.
Remembering the flames that lit up that dark evening so many years ago, engulfing her house in the teeth of its flames along with her family, seeing the looks on their eyes before they were burned to a crisp.

It haunted her, dwelling within her mind like a nightmare she'll never escape from, forever repeating over and over and over.

Coming back to the ash tree didn't help suppress these memories yet...she always ends up here, like those memories drag her there somehow.

"I knew I'd find you here Burning Fire~" a voice whispered behind her, moving her long black hair away from her eyes with pink tinted and clawed hands.
"Hello again Jezebeth, what brings your demon ass here this fine evening?" The black haired girl asked while rolling her eyes, she clearly wasn't in the mood for her right now with the way she acts.

"Come on Serafine, my ass is fine! Even for humans-"

"When you're in a human form, now what do you want fire breath?" Serafine stood up from her spot to push the pink demon out of her face, giving enough distance between the two.
Jezebeth waved her tail in annoyance while giving the girl a glare, her yellow feline eyes burned with the many crying souls she had stolen over the years that she'd been under Satan's wing as part of his court.

"Oh shut it you stupid fallen angel, our master would liked all of his court members to be summoned at once for an emergency announcement." She growled.

"And what's this announcement? Or are you going to be a asshole and not tell me like usual?" Serafine raised an eyebrow, knowing the fire demon for so many years of her afterlife made her learn a lot about her accomplice...along with how cocky and bratty she can be.

I'll always hate this fire breath.

"I'm always an asshole but I'll let you on a little secret just this once~" the demon purred, showing her canines as a smirk grew on her evil face. "I heard that he'll be passing on the throne soon to one of his court members~" Serafine quickly looked at her, becoming more interested of the subject at hand.
"Why...are you actually telling me this?" She asked.

"Simple! I want a challenge~" Jezebeth laughed, dusting off her long, orange strips of a skirt and her black chest armor which only reached her breasts, fitting figure a she-demon like herself.
"Of course you do. You love to play games done you?" The fallen angel giggled a bit.

She might hate the demon but being stuck with her for about 100 years can have an effect, the evil inside of her only made it easier to bond with Jezebeth, even with the rivalry and insane personality.

"I love games Serafine, I do indeed. I know you also like a challenge, especially since it's over the throne of the underworld. Wouldn't that be pretty? You could finally leave this tree and those haunting memories behind you once and for all~"

She layed hand on the tree and sighed, gripping her purple jumper in her fist. She wanted to let go...so bad, being haunted by the faces of her family only fueled her rage towards herself and the world.

I want to let go...I want to let go!

"Yes, that would be...nice. Let's go Jezebeth, our master has a job for us, a job I'm sure will be quite splendid~" Serafine turned back to the demon with a smirk on her face, a smirk that could send a shiver down anyone's back.

Nodding, Jezebeth lifted herself off the ground, floating in the wind while waiting for the fallen angel. Serabeth spreaded her black feathered wings, joining her in the air before flying off to the entrance of the underworld.

A place of death, chaos, destruction and...well, a lot of hellfire.

A place of nightmares that no normal human or spirit can escape from.

Serafine's home and the home of their master.

Satan himself.
