("Thoughts")

The trio walks out of the city through the south as they look around the route. The route has neatly looking trees, grassland and small brown birds soaring through the bright blue sky.

X takes out his Pokédex and has it analyze those birds; 'Starly. The Starling Pokemon. Because they are weak individually, they form groups. However, they bicker if the group grows too big.'

"Isn't that the final form of Staraptor?" X remembered.

"Who?" Axl asked.

"... The two large birds that pick up my brothers." X reminded him.

"OH! I remember now!" Axl remembered now.

Zero takes a deep breath and says, "Regardless, let's focus on finding this legendary Pokemon, alright?"

"Agreed," X nodded.

The trio continue on their journey where they encounter a young boy who sees them and suddenly rushes in as he yells, "Hey! Let's battle!"

"H-Huh?!" X blurted out. "Ahem... sorry, but we're quite busy right n-"

"C'mon! It won't take long!" The boy said, excitedly.

"Look, we have no time to-" Zero suddenly gets interrupted as his mouth gets covered by Axl.

"I'll battle!" Axl told him cheerfully.

"Axl? What on Earth are you-" X called out.

"Come on! I need to make my Pokemons stronger, so it's only right!" Axl told them.

"... Fine..." X sighed. "Just one battle and that's it."

"Yes, mum!" Axl replied sarcastically as he takes out his Pokeball, and turns to the kid, "So, ready you battle?"

"You bet! Your two buddies aren't gonna intervene, are they?" The boy asked, slightly annoyed at X.

"No thank you." X responded. "I-I'm not a big fan of battles..."

"And It's not my battle, so I don't care." Zero replied. "Just be quick about it."

"Okay. Rattata, let's do this!" The boy says, sending his pokemon out

"Let's go Wildfire!" Axl yelled out as he sent out his Chimchar. "You ready man!?"

"Hell yeah!" Wildfire replied with a thumbs up and readied his stance.

"In that case, Wildfire, use Scratch!" Axl commanded.

Wildfire grins as his claws glow and rushes right at Rattata.

"Rattata! Dodge!" The boy commanded.

Rattata rushes to the right as Wildfire misses the attack.

"That was close! Use Quick Attack!" the boy said as his Rattata begins moving at speeds where it can only be seen as a blur.

"Wildfire! Jump!" Axl shouted.

Wildfire raises his eyebrow a bit, but jumps anyways just as Rattata is about to hit him.

"Wow! Nice reflexes!" the boy commended as Rattata slowed down.

"Heh, thanks kiddo!" Axl responded, "And now, Wildfire, use growl!"

Wildfire growls right at Rattata from above and lands on the opposite side. The Rattata shivers a bit and shakes his head.

"Quick Rattata! Use tackle!" The boy yelled out.

Just as Rattata rushes down right at Wildfire, Axl stays quiet as he grins a little, making the boy a bit confused.

"What's so funny?" the boy asked, confused and slightly annoyed.

"Wildfire! Do a front flip!" Axl yelled out. "And use scratch on his back!"

Wildfire jumps forward just as the Rattata is going to tackle him down. The Chimchar does a flip as his claw glows again and scratches his back; a critical hit that ends KO Rattata.

"Hell yeah!" Axl cheered.

"Return!" The boy said, upset he lost while his pokemon returns to the pokeball before continuing, "Not bad. You're quite good."

"Heh, why thank you!" Axl replies, and looks at Zero as he shouts, "Ha! And you said I would suck at battles!"

Zero just rolls his eyes and replies, "That doesn't matter. Try not to get too cocky."

"Why you gotta be such a buzzkill, Zero?!" Axl complained. "Seriously?! Have X ever taught you a thing called fun?"

"D-Don't bring me into this!" X complained, not wanting to be dragged into this, "Regardless, we should continue heading forward."

"Alright, X!" Axl responded as he rolls his eyes and turns back to the kid, "Anyways, bye kiddo!"

"Bye dude!" The kid waved his hand as the trio continues on their journey.
