The trio exits out of Canalave city and continue on their journey as they see a bunch of trees, grasses and a large gap between their designation, and their current location filled with water.

"Mmm... how are we gonna get past there?" X asked.

"We might have to swim over there," Zero said, "Though, too bad we don't have swim suits,"

"But what if we encounter a dangerous Pokemon?" X asked him, "I'm worried it would risk our Pokemons,"

"Than, let's search for a second Pokemon!" Axl blurted out as he runs into the grass.

"Be careful, Axl!" X called out.

"Be on your guard!" Zero told him.

"I'll be fine, guys!" Axl ensured him as he takes out his Pokeball, "Besides, what's the worse that could happen?"

Famous last words because Axl is suddenly hit by a sudden shock wave at the back of his head. X gasps while Zero snickers a little; basically laughing at him as Axl glares at the one who shoot out those shock waves at him.

He sees an orange Pokémon resembling a weasel and a sea otter. It has a yellow collar around its neck and two blue fins on its arms. X takes out his Pokédex and analysis the Pokemon; 'Buizel. The Sea Weasel. It spins its two tails like a screw to propel itself through water. The tails also slice clinging seaweed. It inflates its flotation sac, keeping its face above water in order to watch for prey movement.'

"That's it! I'm gonna catch you and make sure you're mine now!" Axl shouted at him as he throws his Pokeball up, "Let's go, Wildfire!"

His Pokeball summons his Chimchar, which he stretches his arms and readies himself as he cries out, "Chim!" "Let's do this!"

"Hell yeah!" Axl cheered as well, "Now, use scratch!"

Wildfire jumps high on the air as he manages to scratch the Buizel's face. The Pokemon growls at Wildfire, which make the chimpanzee Pokemon shiver a bit.

"Oh no you don't!" Axl yelled out, "Wildfire! Use leer!"

Wildfire glares right at Buizel, which he lowers his guard a bit as the weasel gets frighten by his glare.

"Now! Use scratch again!" Axl yelled out again.

Wildfire tackles the Buizel down and scratches both of his arms, but the Pokemon summons another shock wave again from his mouth and blasts Wildfire away.

"Chim!" Wildfire yelled out, "Help me!"

"Wildfire!" Axl called out as he catches Wildfire from falling, "You okay?"

"Chim... Chim..." Wildfire replied. "Y-Yeah... I'm okay..."

"Good!" Axl replied as he takes out his empty Pokeball and throws it at Buizel, which it bounces from his head and red energy grabs the Pokemon inside the ball, "Got him!"

"Don't celebrate yet!" Zero told him off.

Axl notices the red beeping sound from the Pokeball. The trio watches the Pokeball intensely where it beeps... beeps... and suddenly, the Buizel breaks free and sticks his tongue at him.

"NOOOOO!!!" Axl screamed in horror.

"Try again!" X told him.

"I will!" Axl shouted back as he throws another Pokeball at the Buizel. ("Come on... come on!")

Beep... beep... beep... ding!

"YES! Yes I did it!" Axl yelled out as he runs up and grabs the Pokeball, "Ha! I got my second Pokemon on the team, baby!"

"Congrats, Axl!" X congratulated him, "I knew you could do it!"

"Thanks X!" Axl thanked him, "Oh boy! I have TWO Pokemons now! Sweet! Wait... what's the maximum of Pokemons are we allowed to carry?"

"Chim," Wildfire answered. "Six,"

"Just six!? Seriously?!" Axl complained. "Well... that sucks..."

"In that case, we have to choose our Pokemons carefully than..." X said.

"Yeah," Zero agreed.

Suddenly, Axl's Pokédex dings, which he takes out and sees his Chimchar learnt a new move; Ember.

"Sweet! Wildfire learnt a new move!" Axl cheered. "So... now what?"

"We continue onwards to the next city," X answered them.

"But how?! There's a huge gap between the cities," Axl called out, "We have to swim all the way there in order to get to the next city!"

"The kid's right," Zero commented, "I'm sure his Buizel can swim through just fine, but I don't know if my Piplup could carry both of us, and it's clear your Turtwig isn't the swimming type."

"Mmm..." X bites his lips as he looks up in the air, cross his arms and taps his feet repeatedly.

"And he's lost in thoughts now," Zero mumbled.

"Oh yeah! I should give my Buizel a nickname!" Axl realised as he throws down his Pokeball, releasing Buizel.

"Bui...?" Buizel asked, "What...?"

"So Buizel, how do you feel if I called you... Jet?"

"Buizel... Bui!" Buizel, now named Jet, said, "Jet... awesome!"

"Great!" Axl smiled. "I'm glad you like the name!"

"Buizel?" Jet asked in shock, "You can understand me?"

"Yeah, it's a long story," Axl told him.

"Ahem... oh! We can take turns with Jet," X suggested to Axl.

"You okay with that, buddy?" Axl asked his Buizel, who nods. "In that case, let's do that!"

"Bui!" Buizel cheered. "Yay!"

The group continues walking to the pathway as they head to the ocean gap.
