Back to the original world, where reploids and humans live together side by side. Inside is the HQ of the Maverick hunters, where Signas and Lifesaver are drinking their E teas to calm themselves down despite looking very composed, Alia and Layer are keeping an eye on the screen showing a small black hole on the moon and Pallette is stomping left and right like a child.

"Pallette, stomping around isn't going to help us," Alia told her off.

"Oh, Sorry!" Pallette apologised sarcastically, "It's not my fault that our best hunters suddenly DROP INTO A FUCKING BLACK HOLE and suddenly lost their signals!"

"Pallette, you need to calm down!" Alia told her off.

"How could I be calm?!" Pallette yelled at her, "They could be dead for all we know!"

"Please don't say that..." Layer said, "I have faith the guys are still alive."

"Exactly!" Alia agreed, "I known the guys for awhile now, especially X and Zero, and trust me, they have survived the impossible in the past."

"Mmm... doesn't change the fact that black hole just burst out of Lumine's body..." Pallette said, and shivers in disgust, "That actually sounds a lot more disgusting than it did in my head..."

"Calm down, you three," Signas told them in a calm manner, "I understand how you all feeling right, but this isn't a good time to panic right now. All we can do is wait for Douglas to finish up his new invention."

"Ugh... hey Lifesaver!" Pallette called out. "Can I have some E-sugar tea and E-biscuits, please?"

"Sure, Pallette." Lifesaver told her. "What about you two?"

"Black tea," Layer told him.

"Chinese tea," Alia told him.

"Alright. Just give me a moment," Lifesaver replied as he walks away.

Alia sighs of relief. Even though Lifesaver is a medic, he makes some mean teas, so he often make teas for his patients which is very good. Even reploids who are more into coffee enjoys his tea. It helps that he adds in special nanomachines that relaxes the circular brain, so his teas are a favourite in HQ for reploids.

It's a shame that humans can't drink it as E-branded foods and drinks are poisonous to humans, but perfectly safe for reploids since it is made for them after all.

"Mmm... in the meantime, gossip time!" Pallette cheered.

"At a time like this?" Alia told her off.

"Yep! I mean, we're bloody stressed out, so why not lighten the tension?" Pallette asked.

Alia could only facepalm and shake her head. Pallette is around Axl's age, though she's a bit younger than him, so it's only natural the two become quite close between missions despite the short time. Of course, it's clear they have no romantic interests in each other since they seem to act as pranking buddies... she's still annoyed at them for making a rather suggestive video of Axl pretending to be her and planning on sending it to X.

At least she's more serious about her duties than Axl, but there are moments... like this.
"I... I think it's a good idea..." Layer agreed with Pallette.

"... I expected better from you..." Alia groaned.

"I-I mean... it wouldn't be healthy for us to stress out 24/7," Layer explained, "I'm just as worried as you, but we wouldn't be good if we malfunction due to stress."

"... Fine..." Alia sighed, "I give up..."

"Hehe, I knew you see it my way, Alia!" Pallette joked. "So... tell me, Alia. Do you have a crush on X?"

"... You just have to drop a bombshell, didn't you?" Alia said while keeping a composed face with tiny hint of blushes on her cheeks.

"Well, duh!" Pallette teased her, "So... do you?!"

"No, we're strictly professional," Alia denied it.

"Psst, that's not what the rumours say!" Pallette commented in disbelief.

"... What rumour?" Alia asked while glaring at her.

"You... you didn't know?" Layer asked. "Even I'm aware that people thinks I have a crush on Zero... which is true, to be honest..."

"Yeah! What she said!" Pallette told her, "Still. The rumours say you have a crush on X ever since that 6th Maverick war, right?"

"... Wrong..." Alia denied it again.

That war was against Gate... her best friend and her very first crush, though looking back, it was clear it's one sided and that it was puppy love, so the crush didn't last long. Still doesn't change the fact she respected him and enjoy each other's company as both co workers and best friends... so when he died, she felt a lot of pain and managed to convince the government to bury him rather than burning his corpse like they do to every other Mavericks, thanks to X's and Zero's help.

Ever since that war, it did bring her closer to them. Sure, she's nowhere near as close as X and Zero; they're practically brothers, but honestly, she knew she can count on them, especially X who gives her a lot of emotional support during that grieving time, and Zero who somewhat understands her pain and even told her about Iris. But, there's no way she has feelings for X! No way... right?

"Hello! Alia!" Pallette called out. "Earth to Alia!"

"Huh?! Oh... sorry," Alia apologised. "Just doze off a bit..."

"Geez, you really need to lighten up," Pallette told her off.

"I... suppose..." Alia replied unsurely.

"Ugh! You're so boring!" Pallette complained, "I miss Axl already!"

"I think you spend way too much time with Axl," Alia joked with a stoic look.

Pallette sticks her tongue at the veteran navigator, while Layer just sighs and looks back on the screen as she thinks, ("Zero... please be okay...")

"Guys! I finally did it!"

Douglas rushes into the navigation room while Lifesaver just got back with a tray with three different teas.

"About time, Douglas!" Pallette complained.

("Oh thank god...") Alia thought as she sighed.

"So, what did you make, Douglas?" Pallette asked him.

"Behold!" Douglas shouted as he takes a small, silver round object, "I call it the dimensional caller!"

"That's a dumb name," Pallette insulted him.

"Not now, Pallette," Layer told her off.

"This caller can call to anywhere, even if you're in a different dimension!" Douglas declares proudly, "You see this red button. This will project a screen and emit a special signal that allows dimensional calls! It took awhile, but it's a prototype and I haven't tested it yet."

"I see," Signas said, "Than you want one of us to go into that black hole."

"... Unfortunately, yes," Douglas said
nervously. "That's the only way to test it."

"I understand. Than, I'll send a search party to-"

"I'll go!"

Everyone looks at Alia, who has a determined expression. Signas shakes his head and tells her, "I'm sorry Alia, but I could not allow that."

"Sir, we all do respect, however," Alia disagreed politely. "I known the hunters for awhile now and I can clearly defend myself. Not only that, but I also used to be an researcher, meaning I should be able to assist the guys more and I know the guys for quite a bit."

"... Fine, but you have to go with one of our other hunters, understood?" Signas told her.

"Yes sir!" Alia saluted.

"Good. We have no time to lose," Signas said, "Let's move it!"

"On it!" Lifesaver said as he gives the E-teas to the women and leaves.

"... You sure about this, Alia?" Douglas asked out of concern, "I mean, there's a possibility this wouldn't work, as this is the only way to test it."

"I am well aware of the risk, Douglas," Alia told him. "However, I have to do this. I known the guys for quite a bit, especially X and Zero, and as a former scientist, I think I can find a way to get back home."

"Alright. If you're that confident," Douglas replied. "Just don't do anything reckless. Okay?"

"I wouldn't." Alia ensured him.

"Alright..." Douglas muttered as he gives her the device, "Just come back safely. Alright?"

"I will."

Alia looks at the device, and than the black hole on the screen. Before, it was rather big, but after it swallow up their three best hunters, it gotten much smaller. According to their analysis, only two or one can enter before it closes up for good. Meaning, she has to go first into the whole... she'll be lying if she said she isn't scared.

"You sure about this, Alia?" Layer asked her.

"Yes. I am sure," Alia told her, "You two are new here, so it would be too risky for you guys to go. Douglas, Lifesaver and Signas are too important here, so I have to be the one to do it."

"... As long as you sure..." Layer replied. "I really hope Zero is okay out there..."

"Yeah. I'm worried about the guys too," Pallette admitted. "I hope whatever Douglas cooked up works..."

"I hope so too..." Alia agreed, and thinks, ("I wonder what the guys are doing? I hope they're not suffering too much...")
