X, Zero, Axl, Rock and Blues arrives at the docks, where the floor are made out of wood, with plenty of ships, with one motorboat that stands out. Rock takes out his Pokeball and returns his Swampert while Blues does the same with Sceptile.

"Here we are. Seguna docks," Rock said. "Before you go, does anyone want to do the gym challenges?"

"Gym challenges?" X asked his brother.

"... It's a test of battle to see if the challenger is ready to defeat the champion himself," Rock explained, "There are eight gym badges."

"Mmm... I don't like battling, so I have to pass..." X admitted.

"I want to do it! I want to do it!" Axl cheered excitedly.

"Ahem... I'll do the challenges," Zero told them.

"Wha?! Why not me?!" Axl asked him.

"Because you're too childish and not exactly the strategising type," Zero told him.

Both Axl and Chimchar pout and cross their arms at the exact same time, where X chuckles a little bit while Turtwig is chewing on his sleeve and Zero rolls his eyes, along with Piplup.

"Oh yeah! Do you guys want to give your Pokemons nicknames?" Rock asked them.

"Nicknames?" The trio asked.

"Yeah, like for example," Rock explained, "I nicknamed my Swampert Skipper,"

"I didn't give my Pokemons nicknames," Blues admitted.

"Ha ha, well, what about you three?" Rock chuckled, than asked the trio.

"Mmm... how about... Rooty?" X asked, than notices the relaxed Turtwig chewing on his sleeve, "H-Hey! Come on Rooty!"

"Mmmm... Tur..." Turtwig, nicknamed Rooty, mumbled, "Mmmm... yum..."

"... You know what? I give up..." X mumbled.

"How about... WILDFIRE!" Axl yelled out excitedly.

"CHIMCHAR!" Chimchar, nicknamed Wildfire, yelled out, "WILDFIRE!"

Piplup looks up at Zero, which he just glances and says, "Not gonna..."

"Pip!? Piplup Piplup?!" Piplup complained, "What?! Why not?!"

"Don't want to," Zero told him and asks with his raise eyebrow. "You honestly want a nickname?"

"P-Pip! Piplup Pip!" Piplup told him and crosses his arms as he huffs, "N-No! Of course not!"

"Alrighty than," Zero shrugged.

"Why not a three way Pokemon battle?" Blues suggested.

"Wha-What?!" X asked in shock. "I... I don't know about-"

"Hell yeah!" Axl quickly accepted cheerfully.

"Mmm... I guess a battle would be a good idea," Zero agreed.

"I... I don't know..." X doubted, than Zero puts his hand on the brunette's right shoulder.

"It would help to have more knowledge of our new Pokemons, especially considering we don't have our powers anymore," Zero explained quietly, "For now, we have no choice but to rely on them for now, got it?"

"... Alright than, Zero..." X understood as he takes a deep breath. "Let's do this."

"Don't worry X," Rock ensured him, "After the battle, I'll heal your Pokemons, got it?"

"Okay, Rock," X replied, ("Even though I just met him... he has that weird sense of familiarity... like I feel like I knew him for years...")

"Is something wrong?" Rock asked him.

"N-Nothing is wrong!" X lied awkwardly.

"... X, you know you-"

"ANYWAYS!" Zero yelled out, "Are you gonna start or not?!"

"I-Oh! Of course!" Rock said, and turns to his older brother, "Blues, you want to be the referee?"

Blues shrugs and replies, "Sure. I don't see why not,"

"Great!"

X gently wakes up Rooty, who stops chewing and just simply nods. Rooty jumps off from X's arms and shakes a bit to keep himself awake. Chimchar excitedly jumps from Axl's head and stretches his arms as he readies himself for battle, and finally, Piplup wobbles to battle, but accidentally trips onto the floor.

Axl and Chimchar bursts out laughing at the penguin Pokemon, which Piplup quickly gets up and puff up his chest while glaring at those two.

("That's it! I am so going after them!") Piplup thought.

"Oh yeah! You can check your Pokemon's move set by using your Pokédex!" Rock told them.
"Okay, let's start, Blues!"

"Very well," Blues replied, "Ready... set... GO!"
