The Elite Four

After beating the final gym, I see a peculiar woman on the beach and go talk to her. Before I can however, Barry runs up and learns that I got the eighth gym badge. Anyway, I meet the girl who's name is Jasmine. I feel like I've met her in a previous life...

Anyway, I make it through Victory Road. Every trainer only furthering our progress. However, it's not a flawless run through Victory Road. While training, Jesus Crig gets hit too hard by an explosion from a Gravel and we lose him. This is not how things should go. We needed him to win this... but he's gone.

I won't give up.

There's one pokemon I've caught that can fill his role, however. They were a new encounter but I know we can do it with. Flour... welcome to the team. I do feel a little bad for using a legendary but Flour helped me take out Giratina so they have the right to help me finish this game.

I ready my team and head for the door standing between me and the Elite Four. As I approach it, I get interupted by Barry who challenges me to our final battle.

We send out our first Pokemon, Staraptor and Bastrid. Bastrid uses Thunder Fang on the Staraptor and almost kills it before it uses some move and is swapped out for Torterra. I don't remember what move it used, to be honest. I switch to Lint who tanks an Earthquake and kills Torterra with Ice Beam.

Next is his Rapidash so I switch to Chunch Bag and kill it with Surf. Staraptor is back out and so is Bastrid. One Discharge later and Staraptor is dead. Snorlax is coming out next so Greathe gets his chance to shine. Aura Sphere gets so close to killing Snorlax but with a sliver of health left, Snorlax uses Earthquake doing about half health worth of damage to Greathe. Another Aura Sphere takes down the Snorlax.

Heracross is next so Plate comes out, tanks Close Combat, and sets up Trick Room before killing the Heracross with Extrasensory. Floatzel is his last pokemon and I send out the last team member for this fight, Flour. Floatzel hits them with Crunch but Flour takes that HP back with Giga Drain. This happens again and the Floatzel falls. Practice is over.

We can do this. I walk through the door... and start what I came here to finish.

I enter the first room and meet Aaron. The battle begins.

His first pokemon is Yanmega who Bastrid is takes out with Thunder Fang. His Heracross is next so I switch to Flour who sets up Stealth Rocks, survives Mega Horn, and kills the Heracross with Psychic. Vespiquen comes out and Lint steps up to the challenge. Vespiquen is hit hard by the stealth rocks so I use Ice Shard but it's not enough. Vispiquen uses heal order but then dies to Ice Beam.

Next is Scizor, the biggest threat he has. I send out Chunch Bag and hope for the best since I have nothing super effective on him. Surf does crazy good damage to him though and Scizor is defeated in two turns. Drapion is next and I send out Greathe. I accidentally hit him with Aura Sphere instead of Bone Rush however so Greathe has to be hit with Aerial Ace before killing the dark bug thing.

I go to the next room and fight Bertha, the ground type elite four member.

I start the fight with Flour and she starts with Whiscash. Flour sets up Stealth Rocks and tanks an Aqua Tail before almost killing the Whiscash with Giga Drain. Bertha heals her pokemon and Flour just brings its health back down before finishing it off. Glad we got that potion out of her arsenal.

Next is Hippowdon so I send out Chunch Bag and hope for the best. Chunch uses Surf and barely leaves Hippowdon alive. Another Surf knock it out. The sandstorm continues to rage as she sends out Gliscor. I switch to Lint and set up hail. Gliscor uses Earthquake but it barely phases us. Earthquake hits again but we don't die. Ice Beam lands and takes out the Gliscor.

Golem is next so I switch back to Chunch and heal him up. Hail will hurt literally everyone in this fight. Golem lands a Thunder Punch and does good damage, however.  I hope this is enough. I use Surf... and it kills Golem. Rhyperior is next and I switch to Bastrid, lowering it's attack. I then switch again to Flour who dodges it's ground type attack thanks to levitate. Flour uses Yawn before avalanche falls on them. It barely scratches them. Giga Drain sucks the life out of Rhyperior, leaving very little health left before it falls asleep. One last Giga Drain... and we beat Bertha.

My next fight is against the fire type member, Flint. He tells me it's good to see me again and thanks me for helping Volkner. Then the battle begins.

Chunch Bag leads the party as Flint sends out Houndoom. It's sprite looks derpy. Surf lands and takes out the Houndoom. Infernape is next so I send out Flour to set up Stealth Rocks. Infernape uses Flare Blits and does decent damage but nothing to be worried about. Flour uses Psychic and Infernape falls.

Flareon is sent out and I switch back to Chunch Bag. The stones dig into Flareon and it drowns from Surf. Chunch gains a level too! Rapidash is next and Chunch stays in. Surf hits and Rapidash is taken out. Stealth Rocks really does wonders here. Magmorter is his last pokemon and, thanks to the damage from the stone, Surf is enough to take it out. Hell yeah!

This is the last Elite Four member before the Champion... let's see how we do.

Lucian starts with Mr. Mime and I start with Bastrid. He sets up Light Screen but Bastrid bites him and that's all it takes for him to fall. Bonzong is next so I switch to Plate to assert dominance. Plate uses Confuse Ray but the foe uses Calm Mind anyways. Plate uses Shadow Ball but Light Screen really help protect the enemy. I then switch to Greathe in hopes Aura Spher- he used calm mind again... Greathe needs to get out of there now. I switch to Plate but the enemy Bronzor hits itself and the light screen wears off.  Plate uses Shadow Ball again and does decent damage.

This Bronzor has uses Calm mind like five times now, making it incredibly dangerous. I switch to Bastrid for her high special defense but the Bronzong uses Earthquake for some reason. It barely does anything so Bastrid uses Crunch but then Bronzong uses Psychic... ending her life. Chunch Bag comes out and kills the Bronzong with Crunch, avenging her death.

Alakazam is next and Chunch stays out.  Chunch uses Crunch and kills the Alakazam. Gallade is next and I switch to Plate. I have a plan, I swear. Gallade hits us with Drain Punch but it doesn't do much so Plate lands confuse ray. Gallade hurts itself as Plate sets up Trick Room. Gallade is hit with Shadow Ball, doing massive damage and he hits himself again so yay for us! Another Shadow Ball is almost enough but Gallade hits himself for a third time, taking himself out. Espeon is next but Chunch can handle him. Psychic hit Chunch but it does nothing to him.

Wait... why is the health bar still going down? Psychic shouldn't do that much.

Stop. Stop! No..!

Chunch died to a crit Psychic...

Plate takes out the Espeon with Shadow Ball but... do we still have a chance?

I ride up the escalator, walk into the final room, and... oh... oh... hi Cynthia. She is beautiful and I fear her.

"Have you been keeping well?" She asks me in a kind voice. "Thank you for Mt. Coronet. And for the Distortion World. I'm truly grateful. Together, you and your Pokemon overcame all the challenges you faced, however difficult. It means you've triumphed over any personal weaknesses, too. The power you learned... I can feel it emanating from you. But that's enough talk. Let's get on with why you're here. As the Pokemon League Champion, I accept your challenge!"

She starts the battle with Spiritomb and I start with Lint. Lint uses Ice beam, taking out half of Spiritomb's health. Another Ice Beam is enough to take it out.

Pale... Bernald... Squeaker...

Her Lucario is next so I switch to Flour and set up Stealth Rocks. Lucario hits us with Shadow Ball but we're okay. Flour uses Yawn next after tanking another Shadow Ball. I use a Full Restore on them and they are hit by ExtremeSpeed before Lucario falls asleep. Flour gets in a Psychic which lowers his special defense. We get another Psychic in... but Lucario is in the red. She's going to heal him. I tell Flour to use Yawn and call it. Lucario wakes up and is fully healed. Flour tanks a crit shadow ball and returns the favor with Psychic and Lucario falls back asleep. I heal Flour again before getting in our last Psychic, defeating the Lucario.

Neopolitan... Pudge...

Next is her Garchomp... I can do this. I switch to Plate and see this hellish beast before me. Garchomp hit us with Giga Impact but it does nothing. Plate hits her with Confuse Ray and the Garchomp hits herself in confusion. I then test out Extrasensory to see how much damage it can do and it does a decent amount before Garchomp hits herself again. I switch out to Flour and Garchomp hits herself again. Flour uses Yawn as Garchomp becomes drowsy and hits herself again. I am incredibly lucky. I then take this oppertunity to use Stealth Rocks. Once she's asleep, I switch to Lint. Garchomps stays asleep and Lint hits her with Ice Beam... taking her out.

Snake... Jesus Crig...

Togekiss is next and I keep Lint out for this. The stone deal good damage to the Togekiss who then hits us with Aura Sphere... but it's not enough. Lint hits him with Ice Beam and defeats the Togekiss.

Bastrid... Chunch Bag...

Milotic is next and I send out Flour. Giga Drain deals decent damage but Milotic is still in the green. I heal Flour and Milotic wastes a turn with Mirror Coat. Flour uses yawn and tanks another Surf. We hit her with Psychic and she hits us back with Mirror Coat before falling asleep. We get her into the red before Cynthia heals her to full health. Using Yawn again, Milotic grows drowsy and wastes another turn with Mirror Coat.  Using Giga Drain, we take Milotic down to half hp. She hits us with surf but it's too late. She falls back to sleep. Using Giga Drain again, we bring her into the red. She's still asleep... so we finish her off with Psychic.

Shoelaces...

Cynthia's last Pokemon is Roserade and we have a Plate that's ready to go. Energy Ball bounces off Plate's metal body and Roserade is hit by Extrasensory.  Roserade tries Energy Ball again but it's not enough. One last Extrasensory...

and we did it... we actually did it...

The spirit is indomitable!

"Together," Cynthia says, "You and your Pokemon can overcome any challenge that may come your way. Those are the impressions I got from our battle. I'm glad I got to take part in the crowning of Sinnoh's new Champion!"

I follow Cynthia onto the lift and enter the Hall of Fame we shall be remembered for our triumph. Professor Rowan joins us.

I set my pokeballs on the scanner and see my team appear on the screen...

Lint the Glaceon

Plate the Bronzong

Greathe the Lucario

Flour the Uxie

We did it...
