"You finally arrived" Guzma laughed on his big chair in his office, or bedroom "it's been awhile"

"Has it?" She can't remember when was the last time she met him. It was with Kukui right? Guzma laughed amused and lifted his sunglasses to show his dark yellow eyes. Wonder what power he has...

"Ruff!" Hau's Rockruff cried from inside a cage. Selena glared at Guzma as he laughed at her

"I don't really get you, kid, but at least this is a change of pace" He said "you're quite something, I admit, but it's not every day someone come straight to me for a beating. I'll show you exactly what I'm made of"

"What are you talking about?" Ninetales used agility to knock away one grunt that was guarding the boss and levitated the cage back to Selena "I'm here to collect" Ninetales licked her paws and noticed something in her tail

"Oh, that thing? How sweet of you to help out your friend. He was pretty weak from what I heard. You came all the way here just for that, huh?"

"Of course, why else would I waste my time with you grunts. I have my own problems to worry about. This is my friends Pokémon. How are you not afraid of your legendary punishing you for doing such a bad thing?" He snorted

"My legendary rejected me long ago. I don't need it. I got my own back and my grunts"

"I don't believe that. A Lele's legendary would punish you for doing such bad things. You grew up in a bad environment if you ended up to become a boss of a organization of mischiefs. It would had made you reborn, but since you're still here, there is some good in you like there is in Plumeria. I know it. The feel of your aura doesn't feel like that. So don't give up in the legendary that made you. You were born for a reason" Guzma leaned back on his chair and waved her away

"Your speech is inspiring, but you don't know me! I have the power make anything break into pieces with a single touch! You should be afraid of me" he showed his gloves on his hands "I don't have control over my own powers, so don't pretend like you understand!" He removed his gloves, revealing his glowing purple hands slowly marking his arms with purple tattoos "mess with me, girl! And I'll mess you up" the tension was growing, but she stood her ground

"I'm not afraid... because I'm not afraid to die. Death was brought upon me before, and I was brought back to fulfill a purpose. I don't know what that is, but who does? You're still here and alive, so do something, will yah?" She turned her back "you can try to fight me, I won't hesitate to fight back. I know I don't need to battle unless I have to, and I don't have to" Guzma glared and put back his gloves, removing his active powered tattoos

"I can't do anything! You're not giving me anything to work with! I'm gonna challenge you one of these days! No matter whose help I need to do it..." she stood there as he walked pass her "I'm going to get what I want" she snorted.

"We'll see" Guzma made it out to the back of the building and pressed his stomach to help him throw up what he had in his stomach, which was nothing. He shut his eyes tight, trying not to feel the pain he's been feeling in his stomach since the day he left home and made Team Skull. What Selena said... he knew she was right, but he's not going to die just yet. Just a little more... just a little longer. He can't leave her yet

Selena walked back to the police station she agreed to meet Melissa at. She found her playing with a bunch of Alolan meowths while sitting on the couch. There was a man making coffee for himself before picking up a newspaper to read

"Oh! Selena!" Melissa jumped in the air to hug Selena like a little girl hanging onto her

"You're heavy..." Selena groaned, refusing to hold her up and placed her back on the couch with her powers "on to other business" she glanced at the man "who is he?" He didn't respond, sipping his coffee like she wasn't in the room

"Oh! Don't mind him! He's a police officer around these parts. I was a bit in a pinch and he helped me out" she picked up her broken styler "I broke my styler... so I can't call anyone or anything. I've been stuck here for about a month already" Selena sweat dropped

"Why didn't you just find my dad?"

"That would have been a good idea, but... I'm broke. So I can't travel to where he is"

"You're impossible"

"Sorry!" Rockruff kept on bothering the meowths and jumped into the man's arms, spilling his coffee on his shirt

"Agh..." he groaned "what trouble..." He looked up at Selena. He glanced at the pendant on her tied up bag that she had to put a knot on until she can buy a new one "a trial-goer... figures"

"What's that suppose to mean? Who are you?" The front door slammed open, letting in Acerola

"Uncle Nanu!" She cried. She looked at Hau's Rockruff playing around happily "You saved Rockruff! Didn't you?! You're so awesome!" Selena blushed

"I-it was nothing, really..."

"Again with the noise... it was bad enough that I had this girl staying here in the station when all she does is complain about not being able to fix her toy" Nanu said. Melissa glared

"Hey! It's not my fault! my styler broke!"

"I know someone who can fix it. She's a Lele who can fix anything with her mind" Selena said

"Really!? Show me the way!" Melissa faced Nanu "you know, you're a old man who likes to keep to himself and hardly try to take care of those grunts running all over the place, but you're a good police officer. I'm only saying that because you let me stay in the station" he shrugged

"You feed my Pokémon while I'm away, so it's whatever" Melissa rolled her eyes and played with her broken styler, fingering around the broken pieces while pouting on her own in the corner. He's so mean... "no one else is crazy enough to stay this close to Team Skull, after all. So I'm glad that you were around to take care of the place, I appreciate it" Melissa's eyes sparkled

"Really!?" She cried tears of joy. Selena chuckled and looked at Acerola

"How's Hau?"

"He's better. Lillie and the kids are taking care of him. It's pretty hard being in that building with him without feeling like you're worthless and weak" Selena nodded and picked up Rockruff

"Let's go Melissa, Lillie can fix your styler. I need to return Hau's Pokémon" Melissa nodded, hugged Nanu's head and ran off with the girls in the rain. The girl's made it back to the aether house thanks to Selena's Arcanine carrying them back to the aether house with a shield protecting them from the rain

The kids were running around in a panic while Hau sat on his chair, covering his eyes like he did something wrong. The aura he was releasing made Selena feel a curtain way. She held up her pride, trying not to feel negative like him, and walked up to him after Rockruff jumped into his arms, licking his face. He didn't even smile, but hugged the little creature closely

"Hau, what's wrong?" Lillie's aura wasn't anywhere in here

"I'm sorry.. I... I can't even make myself smile right now... I'm a failure" he looked like he wanted to cry. Acerola and Melissa, not to mention the kids were crying themselves. Selena shook her negative thoughts away again

"Why? What happened?" She asked

"Miss Lillie... she's gone!" The kids cried. Hau covered his eyes completely, shaking. Selena frowned and sat next to him, holding his shoulder

"Team Skull... they came back and they saw Lillie and Nebby out of the bag. Because she didn't want to cause violence, she went with them. I could had done something... but I... I'm suppose to be a trainer" he sobbed. Tears ran out her eyes, unable to hold back anymore "but when it came down to it, Lillie had to protect me... Lillie, who's not even a trainer to begin with!"

"It's okay, we're going to get her back" Hau looked up at everyone crying

"I'm sorry I'm causing this" he wiped his tears off his face "I can fix this... Selena? Will you sing for me?" She blushed hard

"W-what?"

"The first time you sang, it felt like angels were singing. It'll make me feel better and it won't slow us down when we go and save her!" Selena covered her face, embarrassed. That was too much of a request. She's still getting use to how affective her song was to others, and gaining the gift was still a mystery. Her voice changed since getting it... and it's not horrible anymore

"Selena! I didn't know you can sing!" Melissa cried "Shadow use to tell everyone how bad of a singer you were!" Selena blushed even more and covered her mouth, trying to hide her smile. That jerk. She churckled, remembering the sweet memories of them together dancing in the middle of the mansion and singing stupidly together.

"Okay Hau... I'll sing just this once" the song was her favorite, and it was her and Shadow's song

"Out here in the quiet of the night...
Beneath the stars...
and moon...
We both know we got something on our minds...
We won't admit...
but it's true...
you look at me, I look away-ay..." the entire song filled the room with her angelic voice. Hau smiled brightly and took her hand, kissing it. Everyone's mood was lit up and normal

"Thanks... Selena" she nodded "let's get Lillie back! I actually heard that she stole Nebby from somewhere"

"She stole Cosmog?" The door slammed open. What's with this door slamming? Gladion ran in with a glare

"Did I hear that right? It was Lillie who took Cosmog?!"

"Gladion!? where did you come from?" Hau gasped "wait... your voice must've attracted him here!" He laughed. Gladion blushed and covered his eye "how do you know Lillie?"

"Enough about that! I told you guys! You were suppose to protect Cosmog! Now it's... Lillie is..." Selena stared at him throwing a fit, still blushing and shaking. She nodded and held her hips

"You seem to care about her"

"You..." He groaned "how annoying! That doesn't matter! Cosmog will bring disaster to Alola! I have to get it back from them!"

"Don't leave us out, we're going" Selena took Hau's arm and forced him on his feet. He blinked confused. Gladion huffed and turned away

"Fine... it's your fault anyways. We'll leave from the ferry terminal" he took her arm and forced her outside. She didn't like the force and flew him outside and threw him into the ocean

"Watch your hands, will you?" She crossed her arms, unpleased

"I should had disabled your power... but that was wrong of me. I'm sorry" she looked at her friends running outside to the edge of the ocean

"Melissa! My friend who can fix your styler is in trouble"

"Do you need my assistance?"

"No, you get your styler fixed and I'll get Wailmers to give you a lift" Melissa's eyes sparkled at the offer and hugged her tightly

"Oh my dear Selena! You're the best! You're so good! I wish you could that stayed a Ranger with me!" Selena giggled and watched her on her way to Lunick back in Melemele island.

"Did you know her, Selena?" Hau asked "she's a Lele"

"Yes, she was one of the Leles I talked about being mind controlled back in the day. One who can give nightmares" She floated to a rock "its a new moon... if we head out to the ocean now, we could get lost. Lillie is pretty strong, so let's head out to where ever we're going in the morning"

"That'll be fine" Gladion sighed

"You all can rest in the aether house if you like!" Acerola offered

"Thanks!" Hau smiled

"I'm fine out here... I think I'll go back home later and head to the ferry in the morning" Hau and Acerola waved as they left back inside. Gladion stared at Selena staring at the ocean, lost in her thoughts. Zyna cried, jumping on Ninetales laying on the ground while sniffing the bugium z she had hidden in her tail. Must've been from attacking that grunt from earlier when trying to get Rockruff away from Guzma. There was a stash of crystals in a treasure chest by them

"Say..." Gladion spoke. She didn't respond "Lillie... you've been taking care of her, haven't you?" Selena came back and looked at him

"I have... but she's her own girl. She decides to travel on her own sometimes and I think it's good for her" she looked down at Porygon Z randomly on her lap

"I'm not saying that at all" she looked at him. She could hardly see him, but he could see her through the darkness, watching her long hair waving through the wind. He looked down at Ninetales minding her own business "I just want to thank you for protecting her as much as you could. You had your own things to do, and you chose to keep your friends close anyways"

"I always keep my friends close. If it wasn't for having friends, you die alone and no one would notice"

"Are you referring to yourself?" She looked down "even when everyone in the world turn against you, you're going to find that piece of hope. That guy was your hope, wasn't he?" She blushed "if he never noticed you, you would have still been alone, huh?" She nodded slowly

"The thing about the past... it's something you can look back at and soak in what you did and who you use to be. It's like a book... you read the first chapter, something happens, and the end of the book turns out to be something different... but the chapters behind it will still be there. It's what makes our story interesting... everything has a start... everything has a end... the book is complete, but there will always be a sequel that will be completely different from the first book" he chuckled

"Moving here is your sequel... you went through it and grew. This book is only beginning, Selena... if something happens to Cosmog, we better hope you're strong enough to reverse anything bad she's going to do" she floated back to him

"Who?" He shook his head and took her hand, kneeling down and held his heart. Much like Shadow did... "Gladion..?"

"I'm counting on you... Your majesty. Something... something is going to happen" she blushed

"What..?" He closed his eyes

"J-just know... I'm going to protect you" she sighed

"Gladion... I can't read your mind, but I appreciate what you're doing. you don't know me and I don't know you all that much, but the effort you're putting into this, you're putting yourself in front me for protection. I've been with my Pokémon for so long until he came up and then I had friends. everyone surrounded me and being here in a new region, where I ran away from everyone else, because I didn't want to face the facts, I found more. I just wanted to be alone and help myself, but I made new friends and I know now, there's always going to be someone that's right beside you. I'm lucky that my legendaries gave me life... because I wouldn't have met the wonderful people in my life. We don't know each other all that well, but thank you for offering your protection, we're friends, aren't we?" he nodded. Zyna smiled, staring at them. Ninetales glanced at it. Selena turned back to the ocean, staring at Porygon Z floating around

"Cosmog... it's not a Pokémon, is it?"

"That would be correct" she sighed

"I hope... I hope she'll be fine" he pet her head

"Don't worry too much about her. Where she is... I'm not too worried about her"

"How do you know about Cosmog anyways?" He turned around and walked away after picking up Zyna

"You'll find out soon enough" she stared at him disappear into the darkness

"He's pretty mysterious... isn't he?"

"Nine?"

"He suddenly showed up in my life like he knows it... like Shadow, remember?" Ninetales nodded. They looked back at the ocean "I wonder if I'll be able to look through that mirror yet..." she stared at 3 white silhouettes floating above the water before vanishing "soon..."

So what's going on here? Does Gladion have a thing for Selena? He wouldn't have bowed to her like that if there wasn't something going on. He wants to protect her... but why? And what about Zyna? I'm sure you're wondering about it. Well idk if I'll mention it until the end or so. Sorry!
