Chapter 6

Dawn and Danny were watching one of Ash old league victory in Johto when he was 15

Kanto won age 15

Johto Won age 15

Hoenn won age 16

Sinnoh won age 17

Unova won Age 17

Kalos won age 18

Pal Champion Age 19

The next morning Ash and Thomas sat in their respective locker rooms having a final pep talk with their Pokémon. They heard their names called and walked into the jam packed stadium. Both of them ignored the roaring crowd, keeping their focus solely on the upcoming battle. Ash looked up into the crowd and saw Pakura, Jude, Philip and Roasline. He guessed that they must have teleported her in since she was in no state to walk after the battle before he left for Johto. He had been expecting to see her in the crowd as he knew she was too stubborn to just rest up and recover while there was a battle going on.

"This final battle is between Ash Ketchum and Thomas Ridgewall, this will be a full six vs six battle. When one person has lost three Pokémon there will be a short break while the battlefield is changed. Substitutions are allowed. Thomas Ridgewall will choose his Pokémon first."

Both men looked at the battlefield. It was a labyrinth of razor sharp rocks which would severely limit the manoeuvrability of any Pokémon that couldn't fly. Neither of them were really bothered though, they both had Pokémon that could fly so it wouldn't have any effect on them.

"Beedrill lead us to victory."

Ash smirk. He was glad to know that he had been right in thinking that Thomas would lead with Beedrill in the hopes of putting some Toxic Spikes up to as he liked inflicting status ailments before going in for the kill.

"Gliscor may the Aura guide you."

Beedrill and Gliscor hovered above the battlefield and stared each other down.

"Beedrill use Toxic Spikes."

Beedrill formed a dark purple orb between his stingers and launched it into the sky. The orb then exploded into several smaller orbs of poison which fell to the ground and sank into the earth. Thomas and Beedrill looked at Ash and Gliscor and were surprised to see cocky smirks on their faces.

"Ram your tail into the ground and absorb the poison." Ash instructed.

Thomas and Beedrill looked shocked that Ash was telling his Pokémon to willingly poison himself. They watched as Gliscor did as Ash said and rammed his tail into the ground. A wave of purple shot at Gliscor pulling all of the poison out of the battlefield. The wave of poison was absorbed into Gliscor's body and they watched as he looked completely unaffected by the poison.

"Why did you make Gliscor poison himself." Thomas asked.

"Gliscor has the ability Poison Heal. So when he is poisoned he gains health rather than loses it. I knew that you'd try to set up Toxic Spikes so I developed this counter measure with Gliscor."

Thomas growled in annoyance. He couldn't believe that Ash had so easily countered his strategy. He looked at Beedrill and knew that fighting Gliscor would not be a good idea since Gliscor could learn moves like Fire Fang. So he had no choice but to switch Beedrill out. But he'd at least try to get some damage done first.

"Beedrill use U-Turn."

Beedrill flew at Gliscor. He rammed into the scorpion Pokémon but didn't really cause much damage. Beedrill was then surrounded in a white glow and was sucked back into his Pokéball Thomas took another Pokéball off of his belt.

"Marowak you're up."

Thomas' starter was now on the battlefield looking focussed. Ash had expected this to be his choice. If he was using the team Ash had identified as his best six he knew that Marowak was the only one who would be able to deal with Gliscor and have a chance of winning easily. Gliscor's eyes met Marowak's and they both smirked excited at the prospect of fighting a strong opponent. Gliscor was flying between the boulders obscuring Marowak's vision. Thomas knew that with the battlefield in it's current state Marowak was at a major disadvantage so he'd just have to fix that.

"Start things off with Bonemerang."

"Fly up and use Stone Edge."

Marowak threw his club which spun around destroying the rock formations and making the battlefield a lot more even with only the odd boulder here or there. As the bone flew towards Gliscor he flew up into the sky. Suddenly several of the stones from the rubble strewn battlefield circled around Gliscor. He then started firing hundreds of stones at Marowak who stood there and took the attack not concerned about the stones pelting him. When the bone finished its arc it started going back towards Marowak. Suddenly a larger rock slammed into Marowak's face which made him stagger back and clutch where the rock hit him. This meant that he missed catching his bone club which flew behind him and jammed into the ground. He looked around for his weapon and when he spotted it he ran to get it.

"Dark Power."

Marowak finally got to his weapon and began pulling on the bone that was still embedded in the ground. Gliscor formed several orbs of green energy that were out lined in dark energy. Gliscor then shot the orbs at Marowak. The Bone Keeper had still not managed to pull the weapon free so he was hit by the attack sending him crashing into the arena wall. The only positive thing form being attacked was that he had gotten his weapon back.

"Night Cutter."

"Bone Club."

Gliscor's claws glowed crimson and were outlined in black energy. He then flew at Marowak who got his club ready for combat. They clashed in the middle of the battlefield and began their duel. They appeared to be even in skill. Marowak was able to stop every slash but when he tried to counter Gliscor was ready to block his bone club. Their duel ended when Marowak ducked below a slash and used his club to knock Gliscor to the ground. As the scorpion was on the ground Marowak raised his club and swung down thinking he'd do some significant damage. But he was surprised when Gliscor managed to raise a claw and block the attack. Gliscor then aimed his other claw at Marowak who jumped away and they both returned to their own side of the battlefield.

"Bonemerang, then Elemental Punches."

"Dodge then use Sky Uppercut."

Marowak again threw his club and as Gliscor strafed to avoid it Marowak predicted his movement and started hitting Gliscor with a barrage of punches. Each one making Gliscor cry out in pain. The scorpion closed his eyes and focussed. His claw glowed bright blue and he hit Marowak with a Sky Uppercut which stopped his barrage of punches and made him disengage. Both trainers saw the state of their Pokémon and knew they didn't have much left in them so they went for broke.

"Gliscor finish it with Toxic X-Slash."

Ash knew that this would sap the last of Gliscor's strength but if he pulled it off he'd take Marowak down with him.

"Marowak use Elemental Bone Club."

Gliscor crossed his claws in front of him. They started to glow green with a black outline and purple ooze dripped off of his claws, tainting the ground. At the same time Marowak had his right arm bathed in flames and his left was encased in ice. He then channelled the ice and flames into his Bone Club. The duo charged at one another and using all of their strength they launched their attacks. Both attacks hit and knocked each other back. The audience looked at the combatants and saw that Gliscor and Marowak were panting heavily. Marowak was using his bone to keep himself upright and Gliscor was using his claws to do the same thing. After a moment's silence Gliscor collapsed, falling forward unconscious.

"Gliscor is unab..."

The referee was cut off by Marowak who lost his grip on his bone club and he fell forward and like Gliscor he was unconscious.

"Both Gliscor and Marowak are unable to battle. Trainers choose your next Pokémon"

Ash and Thomas returned their Pokémon, proud of how they'd battled.

"Rotom may the Aura guide you."

Rotom appeared on the battlefield in his original form. Thomas thought this would be a perfect way to get an advantage. One Crunch form Hydreigon should deal with Rotom.

"Hydreigon to the battlefield."

Thomas had hoped to gain some reaction from Ash and Rotom but they were both stood there smirking.

"Rotom it's time to cool off."

Thomas and Hydreigon looked at Ash wondering what on earth he was talking about. They looked at Rotom and saw that he was glowing white. Everyone was now wondering what was going as to their knowledge Rotom didn't evolve. Suddenly Rotom stopped glowing white and was now floating there in his frost form. Everyone was shocked at what they had just witnessed.

"How the hell did Rotom just do that?" Thomas asked in disbelief.

"I helped Rotom learn how to switch between his various forms at will. Now use Blizzard."

The doors on the front of Rotom's body opened and a massive Blizzard was fired from inside Rotom's body. Thomas and Hydreigon were still so shocked at what they had witnessed that neither of them had a chance to react to the Blizzard. Hydreigon roared in pain as the chilling wind hit him. This got Thomas and Hydreigon's minds back in the battle. Thomas could see that Hydreigon was pissed at letting himself be hit by that Blizzard.

"Hydreigon Flamethrower."

Hydreigon's three mouths opened and they fired three bursts of flames that fused into one enormous Flamethrower. Ash looked unconcerned as the flames travelled towards Rotom.

"Rotom turn up the heat."

Rotom glowed white again and seconds later he was in his heat form. The flames then engulfed Rotom. When the flames died down everyone could see that Rotom was pretty much unaffected by the attack. Ash smirked as he saw Thomas and Hydreigon getting annoyed. This had been his goal from the start. The only problem was that Ash knew he couldn't keep doing this as every form change saps some of his energy.

"Rotom use Will-O-Wisp."

Several orbs of blue flames surrounded Rotom and he launched them at Hydreigon.

"Stop them with Dragon Pulse."

All three of Hydreigon's mouths formed a turquoise orb in them and fired the orbs of draconic energy at the blues flames. The Dragon Pulse hit the Will-O-Wisp creating a massive explosion that cancelled out both attacks.

"Now Volt Switch."

Rotom formed an orb of electricity and fired it at Hydreigon. When the electricity hit Hydreigon it didn't do a lot of damage but it did enough to justify using the extra energy to attack. Rotom was then sucked back into his Pokéball

"Porygon-Z may the Aura guide you."

Thomas watched as Porygon-Z came out of his Pokéball and instantly flew up to Hydreigon. Wait a second... flew, Porygon-Z can't fly at least not that proficiently. He thought.

"How is Porygon-Z doing that?" Thomas queried

"It wasn't that hard to do really. All we did was train Magnet Rise until he could use it to move freely in the air." Ash replied.

"You are full of surprises Ash."

"So I've been told."

"Right let's get back to the battle. Hydreigon use Flaming Dragon Cannon."

"Thundering Shadows."

A light blue orb formed Hydreigon's left mouth. A silver coloured orb formed in his right mouth and his main mouth was engulfed in flames. He fired a shock wave of draconic energy, a burst of flames and a silvery beam at Porygon-Z. The Virtual Pokémon responded by forming several orbs of black energy that crackled with electricity. He fired the orbs at Hydreigon's attacks and they caused a massive explosion in the middle of the battlefield, cancelling each other out.

"Fire Crunch."

Hydreigon's mouths became bathed in flames and he shot forward. Before Porygon-Z had a chance to react Hydreigon chomped down on his arms and tail. Porygon-Z screeched as he felt his razor sharp pierce his skin.

"Use Discharge."

Porygon-Z built up and massive amount of electricity and sent directly into Hydreigon. His dragon typing didn't help at all as the electricity was being shot straight down his throat so he roared from the pain. He had to get away from the pain so he had no choice but to release his grip on Porygon-Z.

"Quick use Signal Beam."

A white orb formed in front of Porygon-Z. He fired a rainbow coloured beam from the orb that slammed point blank into Hydreigon. The dragon was sent crashing towards the ground. However he manage to right himself before he slammed into the ground. Hydreigon flew back up and glared at Porygon-Z who was checking the wounds that he had sustained during Hydreigon's last attack.

"Hydreigon hit him with a Draco Meteor."

"Use Lock-On. Then follow up with Zap Cannon and then Protect."

Porygon-Z's eyes glowed red and he released a red ring that shot towards Hydreigon. When the ring hit Hydreigon it created a small target on his body. Hydreigon was unconcerned by whatever the target was and formed three orange orbs in his mouths. He shot them into the sky and the orbs exploded and hundreds of smaller orbs were now descending towards the ground. As the meteors were soaring his way Porygon-Z formed a yellow orb of electricity with a red centre in front of him. He fired the orb at Hydreigon who thanks to the Lock-On had on chance of dodging it. Hydreigon roared as he felt the the electricity course through his veins and paralyse him. Porygon-Z only had seconds now until the meteors hit him so he erected the best barrier he could in such a short amount of time. The barrier stopped the initial assault but as more meteors hit the shield it started to crack. Eventually the punishment became to much and it shattered meaning Porygon-Z was hit by several of the meteors. When the bombardment ended Porygon-Z was still looking strong but it was clear the meteors had had some effect. Ash looked at Hydreigon and could see that he was struggling to stay in the air thanks to the paralysis.

"Finish him with Tri Beam."

Porygon-Z formed three orbs in a triangle. The first orb was encased in ice, another that crackled with electricity and a third on that was engulfed in flames. He then formed a fourth orb in the middle that glowed orange. After a few moments a burst of flames, a beam of ice, a bolt of electricity and a large orange beam of energy shot from the orbs. Thomas watched as the extremely powerful combination of attacks headed toward Hydreigon.

"Hydreigon you have to move." Thomas yelled desperately.

The dragon tried to move but the paralysis caused by the Zap Cannon made him unable to move. All he could was watch as the attack got closer and closer. The attacks slammed into Hydreigon creating a massive explosion that shrouded him in smoke. As the smoke cleared everyone could see that Hydreigon was unconscious and was now plummeting towards the ground. Thomas calmly took Hydreigon's Pokéball off his belt and returned the dragon in mid air.

"Hydreigon is unable to battle. Thomas choose your next Pokémon"

Thomas wasn't particularly happy with how this had gone so far. Rotom had shook up Hydreigon and angered him which made his defeat to Porygon-Z a lot easier than it should have been for Ash. Thomas knew he had to turn this around if he wanted to have a chance of winning.

"Tangrowth let's do this."

Tangrowth appeared on the battlefield. Ash looked from Tangrowth to Porygon-Z and knew that thanks to the energy he had used to fight Hydreigon he'd put up a good fight but he'd lose. Ash had no intention of uselessly throwing away Pokémon when he could save them for later. His battle with Katie back in the Hoenn League had taught him that lesson. Now that he thought about it he never actually thanked her for that.

"Take a rest Porygon-Z. I might need you later."

He nodded happy enough to have a rest before battling again. Ash returned him and pulled another Pokéball off of his belt.

"Primeape may the Aura guide you."

The pig monkey got into a battle stance and stared at Tangrowth.

"Tangrowth use Sleep Powder."

"Charge through and use Power-Up-Punch

Tangrowth fired a cloud of sleep inducing spores at Primeape expecting to see him asleep on the ground any second. Both Thomas and Tangrowth were shocked when they saw Primeape run through the spores. Primeape's fist glowed red and he punched Tangrowth knocking him off his feet. Primeape felt himself get stronger after using the attack. He watched as Tangrowth quickly got back to his feet and glared at him.

"Grab him with Vine Whip and throw him into the sky."

"Slam him into the ground as many times as you like."

Several vines shot off from Tangrowth and wrapped around Primeape's arms. Tangrowth tried to throw Primeape but couldn't move him no matter how hard he tried. Primeape grabbed the vines on his arms and crushed them in his grip. Tangrowth yelled in pain and tried to retract his vines however Primeape kept a tight grip on them. Suddenly Primeape started slamming Tangrowth in the ground, the speed he was doing at was making it an incredibly painful experience for Tangrowth.

"Send a Toxic through your vines."

Tangrowth started pumping poison through his vines. Ash watched as Tangrowth's vines were gradually turning from green to purple and now had ooze dripping off of them.

"Primeape let go of Tangrowth!" Ash yelled.

Before Primeape could release his grip on the vines the poison had reached him. Primeape fell to one knee and released Tangrowth's vines. He winced as he felt the poison sap some of his strength.

"Sludge Bomb."

Tangrowth fired several blobs of poisonous ooze at Primeape. The Pig Monkey jumped back dodging all of them. However as he dodged the last one the poison once again took effect making him drop to one knee and grit his teeth.

"Wrap him."

Tangrowth moved at a speed that nobody thought the species was capable of and got behind Primeape. His vines then wrapped around Primeape's body, trapping him. Primeape struggled against the vines but found that he couldn't move.

"Use Giga Drain."

Both Tangrowth and Primeape glowed green and several tendrils were now running from Primeape to Tangrowth. Ash watched as Primeape continued to fight against his attackers grip but he was getting weaker by the second.

"Primeape Overheat."

Primeape's body started glowing orange. Tangrowth could feel his feel getting hotter to the point where they were boiling. He was now actually taking more damage than his Giga Drain could heal. Tangrowth knew he had no choice but to release Primeape. Once he was free Primeape turned around and opened his mouth. His mouth started glowing white and he fired a white flame that had an orange and red spiral around it. Tangrowth let out a loud screech as the intense flames burned his body. Ash was proud of how well Primeape had managed to use Overheat since it was not as easy move for him to learn. After taking a quick look at Primeape Ash knew that he had to finish this quick if he wanted to save Primeape for a later battle.

"Primeape knock him down with Low Sweep. Then Elemental Combat and finish it with Focus Beam."

Primeape nodded and ran at Tangrowth who was still trying to recover from the powerful fire attack. He looked up just in time to see Primeape trip him and send him crashing to the floor. Tangrowth was now completely defenceless and at Primeape's mercy. Tangrowth watched as Primeape's right became encased in ice and his left was engulfed in flames. Primeape then started to hit Tangrowth with a barrage of kicks and punches. Tangrowth tried his best to block some of the hits but his attempts were futile. When Primeape stopped his assault Tangrowth felt battered and bruised that prepared to keep fighting. He was about to get up when Primeape kicked him hard sending him skidding back towards Thomas. Primeape formed a blue orb in his hands which was then engulfed by an orange orb. He then fired a powerful orange beam that was outlined in blue at Tangrowth. The Vine Pokémon managed to stagger to his feet just in time for the Focus Beam to slam into him. Tangrowth was sent crashing into the arena wall. He slumped to the ground unconscious.

"Tangrowth is unable to battle. Since Thomas has now lost three Pokémon there will be a fifteen minute break."

Both Ash and Thomas returned their Pokémon and turned around going back down the tunnels to their locker rooms.

In the locker rooms both trainers were not particularly happy. Ash knew his cockiness had let Primeape get poisoned. If he'd have just had Primeape throw Tangrowth once he wouldn't be poisoned. But he had underestimated Thomas which if he did that again could be dangerous. Thomas on the other hand was thinking about how he can pull this back. The fifteen minutes went by slowly but eventually they both heard their names called. They walked back down the tunnels on the battlefield which was just a flat grassland now.

"The battlefield has been changed. Ash Ketchum chooses his Pokémon first."

"Rotom may the Aura guide you."

Rotom appeared on the battlefield still in his heat form.

"Drifblim come one out."

The Blimp Pokémon floated in front of Rotom looking ready for battle. Thomas looked at Ash and could tell that he was surprised at his choice.

"Will-O-Wisp." Ash and Thomas called out.

Rotom and Drifblim formed several orbs of blue flames and fired them at each other. The orbs clashed and cancelled each other out. Thomas had expected that to happen. He had only used Will-O-Wisp to test how Rotom compared and sadly they were about even. This meant that once again he couldn't employ his favoured strategy. His only option was to try and use combination moves to inflict the status ailments.

"Shadow Wisp."

"Electro Wisp."

Drifblim formed an orb of black energy that was surrounded in blue flames. Rotom at the same time formed a ball of electricity that was also surrounded in blue flames. The orbs met and battled for dominance but neither of them could gain an advantage. Eventually the two orbs exploded raising a thick smoke between Rotom and Drifblim.

"Acrobatics."

Drifblim flew through the smoke and rammed into Rotom several times. Although on there own the attacks wouldn't have done much damage to Rotom the sheer number of hits caused him some pain.

"Shadow Ball."

As Rotom tried to recover from the previous attacks Drifblim formed a black orb of energy. Drifblim shot the orb at Rotom and it slammed into him sending him crashing to the ground. Ash was worried until he saw Rotom quickly get himself back into the air.

"Ominous Shadows."

"Thundering Darkness."

A black wind that had several orbs of black energy surrounded Drifblim. At the same time Rotom was surrounded in a black aura that crackled with electricity. The black aura was released as a wave of dark energy and it shot at Drifblim. The blimp quickly reacted by firing the dark wind at Rotom. The wind of ghostly energy hit the electrically enhanced dark energy. That was a brief battle for dominance however the type advantage of Rotom's attack overpowered Drifblim's attack. The wave of dark energy engulfed Drifblim who yelled in pain as the electricity shocked him and the dark energy overwhelmed his senses.

"Finish Drifblim with Thunderbolt."

Rotom fired a bolt of electricity at Drifblim who was still suffering from the last attack. Thomas looked sadly at Drifblim. He knew that this attack would finish Drifblim off. But he wouldn't go down without taking Rotom with him.

"I'm sorry Drifblim please forgive me. Use Destiny Bond."

Ash's eyes widened and he knew he had no way of stopping the attack now. As soon as the electricity hit Drifblim it knocked the Blimp Pokémon out. Ash looked at Rotom sadly as he saw him faint as well.

"Drifblim and Rotom are unable to battle. choose your next Pokémon"

Thomas looked at his two remaining Pokéballs and knew that this battle would be nigh on impossible to win. But he had no intention of giving up.

"Beedrill come back to the field."

"Aurorus may the Aura guide you."

Ash wasn't exactly happy at Thomas' last move. But he knew that in his position he'd have done the same thing. It didn't mean that Ash couldn't be pissed about doing that to Rotom though.

"Aurorus we have to avenge Rotom. He was just taken down by a Destiny Bond."

Her gaze hardened. She had no quarrels when they were beaten fairly in battle but when moves like Destiny Bond are used to beat them that really enrages her.

"Let's start off with Ice Beam."

"Dodge and then use Twineedle."

A light blue orb formed in Aurorus' mouth. A beam of ice was then shot from the orb at Beedrill. The bug type dodged the beam and flew at Aurorus aiming his stingers at her.

"Quick use Psychic." Ash called.

"Beedrill watch out."

Thomas and Beedrill watched as Aurorus' eyes glowed blue. Beedrill braced himself for the attack but to his surprise he felt nothing. He looked at Aurorus and saw that the glow was surrounding the Ice Beam she had shot. Everyone looked at the Ice Beam and saw the end break off into two smaller beams. Both of which were now headed for Beedrill.

"You have to dodge them Beedrill."

Beedrill quickly strafed to his right to avoid the first beam however the second caught him and slammed him into the ground. Thomas looked on in horror as he saw Beedrill's wings frozen to the battlefield.

"Earthquake and then Flash Cannon."

Aurorus raised her forelegs and slammed them down on to the battlefield. The tremors the Earthquake caused were intense but not quite as powerful as the one used by Infernape or Paul's Torterra. Beedrill could only screech in pain as the ground shook beneath him. Due to the intense tremors one of Beedrill's wings was freed. He started hitting his still frozen wing with his stingers to try and break the ice. While Beedrill was doing that Aurorus formed a silver orb in her mouth and fired a silver beam from it. As the attack head his was Beedrill managed to free his trapped wing. He tried to fly away to dodge the attack but he wasn't quick enough. The Flash Cannon hit his right stinger doing some bad damage to it. Thomas looked worriedly at Beedrill as he saw his right arm hanging limp.

"Beedrill are you okay to continue?"

Beedrill nodded and got into a battle stance.

"Okay if you're sure then try another Twineedle."

Ash had to admit that he was surprised by Beedrill's determination. Before he could give Aurorus any instructions Beedrill had shot forward and was now stabbing at Aurorus with his left stinger and his tail. Aurorus was doing a good job of avoiding the stingers however she was so focussed on dodging that she had no time to think of a counter strategy. Suddenly Aurorus screamed in pain as she felt Beedrill's stinger stab into her right side and poison started to flood through her system. Ash looked at the scene before him and felt worried for Aurorus. He had never heard her make such a noise before.

"Discharge!" Ash yelled.

Aurorus focussed long enough to charge some electricity in her body. She then released the electricity directly into Beedrill through his stinger. Beedrill quickly yanked his stinger free and retreated. Ash looked at Aurorus and saw a combination of blood and poison trickle from the wound Beedrill had made. Thomas decided to give up and the physical attacks since Beedrill was getting hurt whilst doing damage. Beside he knew that one of Beedrill's special moves will be far more powerful now.

"Venoshock."

Ash's eyes widened. He knew that due to the sheer amount of poison now flowing through Aurorus a Venoshock could well finish her off.

"Icy Wind."

Beedrill's left stinger turned purple and he pointed it at Aurorus. A stream of poison then shot from the stinger. In response Aurorus opened her mouth and the inside glowed light blue. She then released a strong wind with sparkling blue flecks of snow at the poison. The attacks clashed and for the most part cancelled each other out however some of the attack got through and hit their opponent. Both Aurorus and Beedrill screeched in pain as the attack hit them. Aurorus was quick to recover though and fired a bolt of electricity at Beedrill. The bug felt electricity shocking him for the second time today and it became too much for him. He fell from the sky and landed hard on the battlefield. Ash saw this as his chance to end this and stop Aurorus from suffering any longer.

"Frost Impact."

Aurorus became encased in and started running at Beedrill. Thomas watched as Beedrill pushed himself up with his lefts stinger and stared at the approaching Aurorus. Beedrill knew that he was over now. He didn't have the strength to try and dodge but he wouldn't back down. He braced himself for the attack and felt something hit him. Then everything went black.

"Beedrill is unable to battle. Thomas choose your final Pokémon"

"Crobat it's up to you."

Ash wouldn't let Aurorus take any more punishment. He was amazed that she was still standing considering the damage she had sustained in that battle. He recalled Aurorus and took another Pokéball off of his belt.

"Typhlosion may the Aura guide you."

Thomas knew that he wouldn't win now but he'd do his best to take down as many Pokémon as he could.

"Crobat use Toxic."

"Counter Shield."

Crobat fired some poisoned sludge at Typhlosion who was spinning on his back shooting a Flamethrower into the air which created a pillar of fire. The poison hit the flames and were nullified. Thomas gritted his teeth, he now saw why people got so frustrated when Ash did that.

"Cover the battlefield with poison."

"Damn. Use Flamethrower to knock her out of the sky."

Crobat started flying across the battlefield firing poisoned sludge at the ground which tainted it, some of the grass rotted from the poison. Typhlosion started to fire bursts of flames at Crobat. But her speed and agility made it difficult to hit her. He eventually managed to hit her with the attack but it was far too late. The battlefield was now covered in poison which Typhlosion was now in contact with and it inevitably poisoned him. He glowed purple as the poison took effect and started sapping his strength. Ash knew he had to act fast or Crobat would take down Typhlosion easily.

"Flamethrower."

"Cut through it with Air Slash."

Ash smirked, he was hoping he'd do that instead of telling her to dodge.

"Swift Charge then finish it with Flare Blitz."

Typhlosion shot a stream of fire at Crobat who began firing blades of wind at the flames. The blades of wind parted the flames revealing Typhlosion who was surrounded in electricity and jumping from star to star. Crobat had no chance to avoid the attack and cried out when Typhlosion slammed into her. Crobat started falling to the ground but managed to get her senses back before slamming into the battlefield. She looked up and saw Typhlosion descending straight at her. He was surrounded in flames and was gathering speed thanks to him descending towards her. When Typhlosion got close Crobat strafed out of the way and Typhlosion couldn't stop himself from slamming into the ground. He pulled himself out of the ground and was on his knees while he tried to recover. Ash looked at him and didn't know if Typhlosion could win this now considering the poison damage he'd taken. But no matter what happened Ash was proud of how well he'd done. Typhlosion's recovery time was cut short as Thomas launched the next attack.

"Brave Impact."

"Flare Impact."

Crobat tucked her wings in and flew at a blistering pace at Typhlosion who had become engulfed in flames and was charging at Crobat. When the attacks clashed both sides were even. But suddenly poison took effect which caused Typhlosion to lose his concentration. This meant that Crobat overpowered him and sent him flying into the arena wall unconscious. However she looked to take some bad recoil damage.

"Typhlosion is unable to battle. Choose your next Pokémon"

Ash returned Typhlosion with pride. He looked at Crobat and it clear for all to see that she was as good as done.

"Primeape let's finish this. Elemental Combat."

Thomas never had the chance to call out an attack. It had all happened so quickly, after only a few seconds for Primeape's right fist to be crackling with electricity and his left to be engulfed in flames. He then shot off and leapt at Crobat knocking her out of the sky. When she was on the ground Primeape started pummelling her with punches and kicks. She tried to fight back but she was too weak from her fight with Typhlosion and after a few brutal moments she was knocked out .

"Crobat is unable to battle. Ash Ketchum wins."

"Wow." Dawn seeing the match

"Ash was even that powerful before and lost only three pokemon." Danny said unbelieving what he saw

"Is that a fun pratice battle." Dawn asked seeing the tape

"It is." Danny said

17 years Ash was sat in the locker room waiting for his match with Alder. After a lot of thought Ash had chosen the six Pokémon that would fight Alder. Ash heard his name called and he walked out of the locker room. He exited the tunnel and saw Alder also walking towards the battlefield. They were both completely focussed on the task at hand and were blocking out the screaming fans. They came to a stop when they were in their trainer box.

"This fun battle is between Ash Ketchum and the Unova Champion Alder. It is a full six vs six battle. When one trainer loses three Pokémon there will be a short intermission while the battlefield is changed. Ash Ketchum shall choose his Pokémon first." the referee announced.

Ash looked at the grassy plain and knew that right now he couldn't use the battlefield to his advantage. But he knew one Pokémon who could change that.

"Tyranitar may the Aura guide you."

The armour Pokémon came out and roared loudly scaring several members of the crowd. Alder wasn't concerned by the display and calmly removed a Pokéball off the necklace he wore.

"Bouffalant battle stance."

The buffalo appeared and when he saw his opponent he smirked. He had been waiting a long time for a worthy challenger and today it seems he has one. Tyranitar smirked back at him also relishing the chance to fight a strong opponent.

"Tyranitar start with Earthquake."

Tyranitar lifted his foot and stomped down hard on the battlefield causing immense tremors that shook the entire stadium. The intense seismic activity created massive cracks in the battlefield. Bouffalant had to quickly jump to avoid falling down one of the massive canyons that Tyranitar had created. Ash smirked as he looked at the battlefield that had several canyons running through it there were also several parts that were just piles of rubble. Bouffalant looked around and could see that because of what had happened to the battlefield he had lost the ability to build up a lot of momentum when he charges. He looked back at Alder hoping to get an order but Alder was stood there with his eyes closed.

"Dark Edge."

Several of the stones on the battlefield were drawn to Tyranitar and they started circling around him in two rings. Tyranitar was then surrounded in a black aura. The aura was then shifted to the stones turning them pitch black and they were sent flying at Bouffalant. The buffalo once again waited for a command from Alder. But when he heard nothing he knew he had to do something on his own. Bouffalant started running in an attempt to dodge the rock. It was working until he came to a gap he had to jump across. The few seconds he waited was enough for Tyranitar to aim the rocks up so they would slam into Bouffalant when he jumped. Moments later Bouffalant jumped and cried out in pain as several sharp stones crashed into him. The power behind the stones knocked Bouffalant down the canyon and slammed into the hard ground ten foot below the battlefield. Tyranitar jumped down the hole and landed in front of Bouffalant who was just getting back up. Bouffalant knew that he was on his own now. He lowered his head and charged at Tyranitar hoping that with the now open ground he could gather the momentum needed to do some damage to Tyranitar.

"Grab him and throw him into the air. Then hit him with a Focus Blast."

Tyranitar grabbed the buffalo by the horns and dug his heels into the ground bringing the charge to a halt. Once Bouffalant had been stopped Tyranitar threw Bouffalant into the air. He then formed a blue orb between his clawed hand and fired it at Bouffalant. The orb slammed into the buffalo and he cried out in pain. Bouffalant plummeted towards the ground and slammed one of the piles of rubble scattered across the remnants of the battlefield. Bouffalant winced as he felt some of the sharp stones pierce his skin. He got back up just in time to see Tyranitar climb out of the canyon and stand in front of Ash.

"Why is he just letting me attack Bouffalant?" Ash asked.

Tyranitar looked at his trainer and shrugged. He was just as confused as Ash. Ash stared at Alder who was still stood there with eyes closed and appeared completely calm. He looked at Bouffalant and was still wondering why Alder would let him do this much damage to him. Suddenly Ash could swear that he heard a snore. He looked at Alder and realised that he was sleeping. Ash was enraged at Alder sheer lack of respect for him. He felt insulted that he would so blatantly disrespect him. Well he'd pay for that.

"Mewtwo protect everyone's ears except for Alder's."

Ash waited for a moment so Mewtwo could make sure that everyone would not be deafened.

"Tyranitar use Screech."

Ash and Tyranitar shared a smirk and then went back to glaring at the sleeping Champion. Tyranitar opened his mouth and let out a loud Screech. The sound created a shock wave that knocked Alder off his feet and made him clutch his now thumping head. Alder got up and saw that Ash and Tyranitar were glaring at him. He glanced at Bouffalant who looked to be in bad shape and saw him shake his head. Alder immediately knew what had happened.

"I fell asleep again didn't I?"

Bouffalant snorted and then turned away. Alder looked back to Ash and Tyranitar and could see that they were maintaining their piercing glares. He knew that he deserved those looks. He had shown a lot of disrespect to Ash and his Pokémon.

"Ash I apologise for my actions." Alder sighed. "Allow me to explain. You see I sometime go into a meditative state to calm myself. However on occasion that does lead me to actually falling asleep."

Ash and Tyranitar maintained their glares. They really didn't care about Alder's excuse. Alder sighed when he saw that Ash and Tyranitar were still incredibly pissed at him. He looked at Bouffalant and could see the blood running down his side and staining the battlefield.

"I'm sorry Bouffalant. It's my fault that you've been so badly hurt."

Bouffalant snorted at him again but then walked back to him and rubbed his head against him as a way of saying he forgives him. Alder stroked Bouffalant's afro and looked at the referee.

"I forfeit Bouffalant. He is in no condition to keep fighting an opponent as strong as Ash."

The referee nodded and everyone saw Bouffalant's image fade on the screen. Ash and Tyranitar frowned as they really didn't feel good about winning that way. Alder returned Bouffalant and placed his Pokéball back on the necklace. He then took another Pokéball off and threw it.

"Conkeldurr battle stance."

It didn't take a genius to know that this would be a very bad match up for Tyranitar. Ash didn't waste a second and returned Tyranitar.

"Primeape may the Aura guide you."

The pig monkey appeared on the battlefield and exchanged a cocky smirk with Conkeldurr. There was nothing a fighting type liked more than battling a fellow fighting type.

"Throw your pillars at Primeape."

"Shatter them."

Conkeldurr aimed the pillars he always carries and threw them at Primeape. As they got close Primeape fists glowed white and he punched both of the pillars turning them into rubble. Suddenly Primeape was sent flying as one of Conkeldurr's fists slammed into his face. The pig monkey quickly got back to his feet and a bead of blood trickled from his mouth. Primeape wiped away the blood with the back of his gloved hand and smirked.

"Mach Palm."

"Duck underneath it and use Power-Up-Punch. Then follow up with Mega Punch."

Conkeldurr's right hand glowed blue and he ran at an incredible pace at Primeape. Once he was close he threw his palm forward however Primeape had seen Lucario and Infernape do that enough times to know how to avoid it. He ducked under the palm and then his fist glowed red. He slammed his fist into Conkeldurr's gut which stunned him temporarily. Primeape felt himself grow stronger due to the affect of Power-Up-Punch and then his fist glowed white. He hit Conkeldurr with an uppercut that sent him soaring through the air and he crash down in front of Alder. Conkeldurr got back up and smirked. It had been a long time since he fought someone who was clearly a skilled fighter.

"Focus Punch!" Ash and Alder yelled.

Both Primeape and Conkeldurr's right fist started to glow white and they ran at each other. When they were inches away from one another they threw their fists forward. Their fists clashed which sent out a shock wave that shook the foundations of the stadium. Neither Primeape and Conkeldurr were going to give the other an inch, their fists were still together trying to force the other back. Ash could see that they were going nowhere fast so knew he had to change strategies.

"Primeape Low Sweep then Karate Chop."

Primeape smirked and using his right leg he swept it along the ground at Conkeldurr's legs and tripped him. Primeape's hand glowed white and he aimed the side of his open hand down at Conkeldurr. The Muscular Pokémon saw the hand head his way and rolled to the right making Primeape strike the ground. The force of the attack had caused Primeape to get his hand stuck in the ground. Alder saw the situation and decided to take a leaf out of Ash's book.

"Low Sweep then Hammer Arm." Alder instructed.

Like Primeape had down moments before Conkeldurr used his leg to trip Primeape. This caused the pig monkey to fall flat on his face but it also freed his arm. Primeape knew that Conkeldurr's massive fist was now headed his way. The gave him two option either roll away but he might not get away in time or kick back to try and stop him. Primeape chose the latter. He sent his feet back at Conkeldurr and they slammed into his stomach. Although this caused him some pain it didn't stop the attack so Conkeldurr's fist slammed down on Primeape's back. Conkeldurr looked confident but that was soon changed when Primeape quickly got up and sent a kick to his face sending him skidding along the ground. Conkeldurr got to his feet and locked eyes with Primeape and they both smirked.

"Mach Punch."

"Mega Punch."

They both ran forward as their fists glowed white. This time when they were close they threw the glowing fists forward and they both hit their opponent in the face. This made them both staggered back.

"Focus Blast!" Ash and Alder instructed.

Primeape and Conkeldurr formed a blue orb between their palms and fired them. Due to the close range the attacks exploded on impact sending both fighting types slamming into the arena side wall. They both pushed themselves back to their feet and looked ready for more.

"Mach Comet Punch."

"Elemental Combat."

Primeape's right fist crackled with electricity and his right was encased in ice. At the same time Conkeldurr's fists glowed white. Both fighting types charged at each other and then a furious clash began. Their arms became a blur and it was impossible to see if any punches were being landed. Ash was the only one who could tell what was happening thanks to his Aura training but it was a struggle even for him. From what he could see it was pretty much even between them. Both Pokémon were starting to feel exhausted and were getting sloppy because of it. They started taking more and more hits until they both sent one final punch that sent them both flying. Ash and Alder watched as the fighting types struggled to their feet. They both knew that their Pokémon only had one more attack before they fainted.

"Giga Impact!" Ash and Alder yelled.

Primeape and Conkeldurr were surrounded in an orange aura and charged at each other. They clashed in the middle of the destroyed battlefield causing them to emit a bright white light that blinded everyone in the stadium. Once everyone could see again they looked to the battlefield and saw that both fighting types were unconscious.

"Conkeldurr and Primeape are unable to battle. Trainers choose your next Pokémon" the referee said.

Ash and Alder returned their respective fighting type and silently thanked them for their efforts. After a moments thought they both chose a new Pokéball

"Druddigon battle stance."

"Infernape may the Aura guide you."

Ash knew that the battlefield wasn't exactly suited to Donphan's battle style. But he was tough enough to endure anything that Alder threw at him.

"Start with Rollout."

"Earthquake."

Infernape got into a ball and started rolling at Druddigon. The dragon watched as Donphan got closer and stomped his foot down on the battlefield. The tremors shattered a bit of the already destroyed battlefield that Infernape was rolling on making him crash to the hard ground below. He quickly got up and watched as Druddigon landed in front of him.

"Dragon Slash."

"Dodge and use Thunder Punch. Then use Ice Punch."

Druddigon's claws turned a greenish colour and were outlined in black. He then started sending a barrage of slashes at Infernape which he was managing to dodge. After a minute of dodging Infernape started to wonder when Ash thought he would be able to attack. Then he spotted the opening he need. Druddigon had gone for a slash but had missed and was now overextended. Infernape Arm was quickly crackling with electricity and he punch hard on Druddigon's. The attack didn't appear to have much affect on the dragon due to his typing but it had created some much needed space. Infernape then formed an orb of ice in his other arm. He lauched his other arm at Druddigon and when it hit him it froze the dragon. The dragon wasn't frozen for long though. He let out a load roar and the ice shattered. He then quickly charged at Infernape and started hitting him with a barrage of punches and kicks. Eventually Druddigon calmed down but he was now confused.

"Infernape use Overheat."

"Druddigon snap out of it."

Infernape launch his fire Heat Attack and started repeatedly slamming into Infernape who was trying to regain his senses. After the third hit from Infernape Druddigon finally snapped out of his confusion."Use Superpower."

Druddigon became surrounded in a blue aura and he slammed Infernape into the ground. Infernape let out a pained cry as Druddigon did it again. Suddenly Druddigon flew into the air. He was finding it hard as Infernape was a heavy load to carry. Once he was high in the sky Druddigon released Infernape who started plummeting towards the ground.

"Iron Defense."

Infernape got into a ball and felt his body get more durable. Seconds later Infernape crashed into the battlefield. Although he felt some pain he new it would have been much worse had he not used Iron Defense. Infernape looked up at his opponent and saw the dragon sharpening his claws presumably to offset the attack loss he suffered from using Superpower.

"Ancient Seed Power."

"Dark Dragon Cannon."

Six orange orbs formed around Infernape. He then formed a green orb that shimmered silver in front of himself. At the same time Druddigon was surrounded in a dark aura. He opened his mouth and the dark aura moved to his mouth forming an orb of dark energy. Then flecks of green and silver could be seen in the orb. Infernape finished charging his attacks and he fired the green orb which was surrounded in the six orange orbs. Druddigon quickly responded by firing a beam of dark energy that had streaks of silver and green in it. The attacks clashed and battled the dominance however neither of them could gain an advantage.

"Flamethrower." Ash called.

Infernape released a beam of fire that was . The beam of flame hit the clashed moves and started to push Druddigon's attacks back. The dragon tried to increase the power of the beam but in the end it was futile. Eventually Infernape attacks pushed through Druddigon's and they hit the dragon causing a massive explosion. Infernape could then be seen falling towards the ground. Most people thought that was the end of the dragon but Ash wasn't fooled.

"Bounce Slam."

Infernape sprang into the air and then aimed his body down on Druddigon. The elephant Pokémon landed on the dragon's back and he smashed him into the ground. The impact raised a cloud of dust which shrouded both Pokémon Everyone looked at the dust and wondered what had happened. Suddenly Infernape went flying out of the dust and slammed into the stadium wall. Druddigon then walked out of the dust with water surrounding his tail. The dragon then shot forward and raked his claws along Infernape's side creating three gashes. Infernape let out a pained cry and staggered back to Ash.

"Draco Meteor."

"Use Giga Smash. Then Rollout to dodge the meteors."

Infernape's body became surrounded in a whitish-blue aura. The aura then surrounded his body making Infernape look black and white. Infernape then shot at Druddigon with his head pointed at the dragon. As Infernape charged Druddigon formed an orange orb and shot it into the sky. The orb then exploded and several meteors were now crashing towards the ground. Infernape then rammed into Druddigon sending the dragon skidding along the ground until he came to a stop in front of Alder. The elephant then got into a ball and started rolling in an attempt to avoid the meteors. But he only managed to avoid the first couple meteors meaning he was submitted to a barrage of meteors. Once the bombardment ended Infernape could be seen in a massive crater unconscious.

"Druddigon is unable to battle. Now that one trainer has lost three Pokémon there will be a fifteen minute break while the battlefield is switched." Ash returned Infernape

Ash and Alder turned around and walked back down the tunnels.

After fifteen minutes Ash and Alder walked back onto the battlefield. They looked at the now rocky battlefield which had a small pool in the middle and started to think about how they could use it to their advantage. Alder selected his next Pokéball and threw it.

"Krookodile battle stance."

"Absol may the Aura guide you."

The dark types appeared on the battlefield and exchanged a smirk.

"Earthquake."

"Use the boulder to get to Krookodile and use Megahorn."

Krookodile lifted his foot and stomped on the battlefield which created massive shock waves that made huge cracks in the battlefield. Everyone felt the stadium shake and started to worry that the Pokémon will make the stadium collapse if they keep this up. Absol was unaffected by the seismic activity by jumping quickly from boulder to boulder. As she leapt off of the last one the sickle on her glowed green and she swung it at Krookodile. Her sickle was met by Krookodile's right hand claws which were glowing green.

"Iron Tail." Ash called.

Absol twisted her body and her tail turned metallic. She then swung it down at Krookodile's head.

"Dodge and use Brick Break."

Krookodile broke away and watched as Absol's scythe like tail shattered the ground. His hand then glowed white and he aimed a chop at her.

"Bounce then X-Scissor."

Absol sprang into the making her dodge the Brick Break. Krookodile looked up and saw her shooting towards him as he front claws glowed.

"Dragon Claw."

Krookodile's claws glowed green and he waited until Absol was about to hit him. He threw his clawed hands forward and it was met by Absol's claws. The dark types were now stuck in a stale mate as neither of them could gain an advantage.

"Ice Beam."

Absol formed a light blue orb in her mouth and fired several beams of ice at Krookodile's face. Due to the close range Krookodile had no chance to avoid the attack and he was forced to take the Ice Beam. He yelled out out as he felt the ice freeze his eyes closed. He pulled his claws away from Absol and started to scratch the ice. Absol took this chance to charge another Megahorn and she slashed down his right side leaving a a long cut. Krookodile let out another pained cry and held his side as he felt blood drip from the wound. Ash and Absol felt almost sorry for Krookodile who was still slashing at the ice. Absol looked back at Ash and they both nodded.

"Iron Tail."

Absol's tail turned metallic and she ran at Krookodile. When she was close she leapt in the air and slammed her tail on Krookodile's face causing him some pain but more importantly it shattered the ice. Krookodile staggered back and was relieved to find that he could see again. Both Alder and Krookodile sent grateful looks at their opponents.

"That was very honourable of you both. You could have just stood there and kept attacking Krookodile." Alder stated.

"We don't like winning battles when the opponent can't fight back." Ash replied and Absol nodded in agreement.

"I respect that. Now let's get back to the battle. Krookodile Dragon Pulse."

"Match it with Flamethrower."

Krookodile opened his mouth and formed a green orb. He then fired a green beam of draconic energy at Absol. At the same time the Disaster Pokémon opened her mouth and fired a burst of flames. The draconic energy met the intense stream of flames and the attacks cancelled each other out.

"Superpower!" Ash and Alder yelled.

Absol and Krookodile were surrounded in a blue aura and they charged at each other. When they met it was an even match. Neither of them could push the other back so they stood in a deadlock. Ash and Alder could see that this struggle was not going to be resolved any time soon unless they changed tactics.

"Hyper Beam!" they both exclaimed.

An orange orb formed in both Absol and Krookodile's mouths. They then fired and immensely powerful orange beam from the orb. It took less than a second for the beams to clash and cause an enormous explosion that sent Absol and Krookodile crashing through the arena wall coming to stop at the outer wall of the stadium. Ash and Alder looked at the holes that were created by their Pokémon and felt worried for them as being caught in explosion created by two Hyper Beam's must have been incredibly painful. They were surprised when they saw both of their Pokémon stumble back through the holes in the wall and stood on the battlefield. They both had several cuts and bruises now littering their bodies but then considering what had just happened it was hardly surprising.

"Quick Scissor."

"Earthquake."

Absol's claws glowed green and she shot off towards Krookodile. White streaks could be seen coming off of Absol as she ran. Krookodile knew he didn't have much time before Absol hit him so he quickly raised his foot and stomped it down on the ground. Due to him doing it so quickly he didn't get anywhere near the power he was capable of so Absol was pretty much unaffected by the tremors Moments later she slashed him creating an x-shaped wound on his chest. Krookodile staggered back and held his chest which was no causing him a lot of pain. He looked up at Absol and could see three of them. He didn't know whether she had used Double Team or his vision was blurred. He heard his trainer say something as the three Absol started running towards him. As Absol got near he threw a claw out at one of them and hit nothing. He then felt the real Absol slam into his stomach and after a few seconds everything went black.

"Krookodile is unable to battle. Choose you next Pokémon"

Ash and Alder returned their Pokémon and thanked them for the passion they had shown. They then prepared their next Pokéball

"Accelgor battle stance."

"Aurorus may the Aura guide you."

Both Pokémon came out and checked their surroundings and were surprised at the sheer destruction they saw. They then locked eyes and anticipated a great fight.

"Focus Blast."

"Ancient Power."

Accelgor formed a blue orb between it's arms and Aurorus formed a silver orb in front of herself. They fired the orbs which clashed and after a short struggle the Focus Blast won. Aurorus barely had the time to feel the benefits from using Ancient Power before the double super effective Focus Blast slammed into her causing her to cry out in pain.

"Acid Stars."

"Icy Discharge."

A horde of purple stars that had poison dripping from them formed around Accelgor. He fired the stars and they shot at Aurorus at an incredible speed. The Tundra Pokémon was surround in electricity and watched as the stars flew towards her. Aurorus then opened her mouth and the electricity around her body moved to her mouth. A powerful frozen wind that crackled with electricity then shot from her mouth. The wind captured the stars and shot them back at Accelgor.

"Hyper Beam."

Accelgor quickly formed an orange orb and fired a powerful orange beam from it. The beam cut through the middle of the wind and it slammed into Aurorus making stop her attack immediately. However Accelgor was still hit by the majority of the Aurorus' attack which created a series of cuts from the stars and some burn marks from the electricity. Ash watched as Aurorus got up and shook off the previous attack and knew that this was his chance to get some damage done to Accelgor.

"Ice Beam."

"Dodge it."

Aurorus opened her mouth and formed a light blue orb. Several beams of ice were then fired from the orb at Accelgor. The Shell Out Pokémon quickly reacted by dodging between the beams. He looked down at his opponent and saw that she was smiling. On closer inspection he saw that she was glowing blue. He looked behind him and saw the beams of ice headed back his way forcing him to start dodging them again.

"Stone Edge."

"Struggle Bug."

Several stones spun around Aurorus in two circles and were then shot at Accelgor who was still trying to dodge the Ice Beam's. Accelgor finally gave up on trying to dodge the attack and his body was surrounded in a red aura. The aura quickly faded away until the Ice Beam's and the stones were close. Accelgor then crouched his body together and a brighter red aura appeared around him. He then opened his arms and a huge dome of red energy burst out of its body. The red energy destroyed the stones and deflected the stones which flew back to the ground and crashed into Aurorus creating several cuts on the Tundra Pokémon

"Bug Buzz."

Accelgor's body glowed red and he opened his mouth. Red sound waves then shot from his mouth creating a siren like sound. The sound made Aurorus feel like her head was about to explode. The shrill high pitched sound was excruciatingly painful. She tried to focus on firing some kind of attack to make Accelgor stop but the pain was overpowering all her senses.

"Toxic then Venoshock."

Accelgor stopped emitting the noise and then shot a stream of poisoned sludge at Aurorus. The Tundra Pokémon was still trying to recover from the last attack so had no chance of avoiding the poison. She winced as she felt the poison now flowing through her veins. She coughed heavily and purple ooze could be seen dripping from her mouth. Accelgor then fired multiple globs of green liquid at Aurorus who was struggling to deal with the poison damage. She shrieked in pain as she was coated in the green liquid. It felt as if the pain caused poisoned flowing through her had been intensified tremendously.

"Aurorus you don't have to feel like you have to keep battling. If you are in too much pain you can stop." Ash said.

Aurorus looked back at Ash and smiled.

'Thank you Ash but I will fight to the end.' Aurorus replied.

"Ok Aurorus well if you think you can do it try a Blizzard."

Aurorus opened her mouth and released a massive Blizzard. The frozen wind shot at Accelgor and he felt the attack cut right through him. He could feel himself being gradually frozen by the wind so he looked to Alder expectedly. Alder saw the look and knew he had to do something quick.

"Giga Drain." Alder instructed.

Accelgor started to push through the freezing wind. Aurorus could see him headed her way and tried to increase the power behind her Blizzard. But at that moment the poison kicked in again. She fell to knees and started coughing heavily. This made Accelgor's job easy as he no longer had anything stopping him. He got to the Tundra Pokémon and both of them started to glow green and several green tendrils were running from Aurorus to Accelgor. A cry of pain could be heard from Aurorus as what was left her energy was stolen and used to reinvigorate Accelgor. Ash felt helpless as he watched Aurorus collapse to the ground. When he new she was barely conscious Accelgor cut the attack and floated back in front of Alder.

Ash returned Aurorus and then chose his next Pokémon

"Blastoise may the Aura guide you."

The tortoise appeared on the battlefield and felt a rush of adrenaline at finally fighting a worthy opponent.

"Bug Buzz." Alder said hoping to repeat his earlier success.

"Ice Spin." Ash replied coolly

Once again Accelgor's body glowed red and he opened his mouth. Red sound waves then shot from his mouth creating a siren like sound. Blastoise quickly withdrew into his shell and started spinning. The sound wave hit him and were deflected away. Blastoise then started firing beams of ice out of the holes in his shell. Accelgor was forced to move around quickly to avoid the beams. However he was tired from his battle from Aurorus so he was caught by one of the beams which froze his arms to his body.

"Ice Aqua Jet. Then Earthquake."

"Giga Drain."

Blastoise was surround in the water and then he shot into the air. As he travelled through the air he fired an Ice Beam that froze the water. Accelgor was then surrounded in a green glow and several green tendrils shot from him to Blastoise. The Kanto started winced but was largely unaffected by the attack. His best guess was that the ice surrounding him was protecting him from the majority of the attack. Blastoise rammed into Accelgor and the green glow surrounding them dissipated instantly. Accelgor was sent crashing to the ground landing just in front of Alder. The bug type got back up but was now struggling to keep fighting. Alder was about to recall Accelgor when suddenly the bug turned around and looked at him. Alder could see the fire and determination in Accelgor's eyes and decided against returning him. The ground then shook as Blastoise's massive bulk slammed feet first on the ground. Due to his typing Accelgor didn't take much damage but at this point any damage was bad.

"Finish him with Hydro Cannon."

"Hyper Beam!"

Blastoise quickly fired two powerful orbs of water from the cannons on his back at Accelgor who had formed an orange orb in front of himself. A massive orange beam was then shot from the orb and it met the two orbs of water. It wasn't an even match as Accelgor's Hyper Beam was gradually being pushed back. After a while he became to fatigued to sustain the attack meaning that the Hyper Beam dissipated. With no opposition the orbs of water slammed into Accelgor and knocked him out.

"Accelgor is unable to battle. Choose your final Pokémon"

Alder thanked Accelgor for how well he had battle and placed his Pokéball on the necklace. Alder then took the Pokéball of his most trusted partner off of his necklace and threw it.

"Volcarona battle stance."

Ash felt a mixture of excitement and nervousness as Alder's most powerful Pokémon now hovered above the battlefield. Ash knew he couldn't underestimate Volcarona as it had been able to challenge Cynthia's Garchomp in battle. Ash and Blastoise exchanged a look and nodded. They both understood that this would be the hardest fight they'd ever had.

"Bug Buzz."

"Rapid Impact."

Volcarona's body glowed red and he started flapping his wings. His wings then started to vibrate and he shot several red sound waves from them creating a siren like sound. Before the sound waves could effect him Blastoise withdrew into his shell and started spinning. The sound waves hit his spinning body and were deflected away. He was then surrounded in an orange glow and he shot straight at Volcarona.

"Wild Blitz."

Volcarona was engulfed in flames and sparks of electricity could be seen crackling around him. He then flew at Blastoise who had gathered even more speed. The Pokémon clashed and started a struggle for dominance. Neither Pokémon was willing to give in and kept putting more and more energy into sustaining the attack. Finally the sheer amount of power they were both using created an explosion that sent them both crashing to the ground. They both quickly got back looking ready and raring for more.

"Signal Thrower."

"Dragon Cannon."

Volcarona shot an oddly coloured beam which was engulfed in flames at Blastoise. At the same time Blastoise formed a green orb that shimmered silver between his hands and he fired a beam from the orb at Volcarona's attack. The beams clashed and Volcarona was gradually pushing Blastoise's attack back.

"Aqua Bash." Ash called.

Blastoise became surrounded in electricity and stopped firing his attack. He then shot into the air dodging Volcarona's attack. Once he was high in the air Blastoise lowered his head and descended towards Volcarona.

"Counter it with Zen Charge."

Volcarona channelled psychic energy into his head and became surround in electricity. He then flew at Blastoise in an attempt to intercept him. The Pokémon rammed into each other. Blastoise winced as he felt the electricity surrounding Volcarona shock him. Volcarona was also wincing as the water surrounding Blastoise soaked him. Eventually they were forced to separate to prevent themselves taking any more damage. The Pokémon landed in front of their trainers and smirked.

"Heat Hurricane."

"Water Pledge."

Volcarona started to flap his wings at an incredible speed creating an intense Hurricane. He then added a Heat Wave to the Hurricane and Blastoise was forced to dig his heels into the ground to stop himself from being sent flying. Blastoise then quickly punched the ground and a pillar of water shot at Volcarona. The pillar surrounded Volcarona closed in on him and drenched him. This forced the moth like Pokémon to stop firing his attack.

"Hyper Dance."

"Block it with Protect." Ash instructed.

Volcarona was cloaked in flames as he formed an orange orb in front of him. The flames travelled from his body to the orange orb and rings of fire could now be seen circling the orb. Volcarona then fired a massive orange beam that had flames spiralling around it from the orb. As the attack headed his way Blastoise erected a green shield in front of him. Volcarona's attack slammed into the shield which temporarily stopped it. However it kept pushing against the shield and gradually cracks could be seen. Eventually the cracks gave way and the shield shattered. Blastoise could do nothing as the combo sent him crashing into the arena wall. Volcarona looked at Blastoise and smirked thinking that he had finished him off. However both Alder and Volcarona were surprised to see him get to his feet. Ash smirked as he looked at their surprise. He knew that Protect would eventually fail but it would take most of the sting out of the attack. Despite that Blastoise had still taken a lot of damage from the attack. It was clear to Ash that the former leader of the Squirtle Squad was on his last legs.

"Blastoise Hydro Cannon."

Blastoise fired two powerful orbs of water from his cannons and they shot at Volcarona. The bug type could only stay in place as he was still suffering the recoil from using Hyper Dance. As the orbs hit Volcarona it was Ash and Blastoise's turn to be cocky and they were both certain they'd won this. The Kanto starter looked back at Ash and gave him a thumbs up which Ash returned. Suddenly a powerful Hurricane sent Blastoise crashing into the arena wall. Both Ash and Blastoise were amazed to see Volcarona hovering in front of Alder.

"I have to admit I'm impressed Ash. It's been a while since someone has been able to do this much damage to Volcarona. But now it's over for your Blastoise. Volcarona use Solarbeam!"

Volcarona started absorbing sunlight to charge the attack. Ash looked from Volcarona to Blastoise and knew that unless Blastoise could move Alder was right.

"Blastoise try an Aqua Jet." Ash pleaded.

Blastoise nodded and tried his best but he just could summon the energy required to use the move. He looked across at his opponent and saw him open his mouth. A green beam of light energy was then fired from Volcarona's mouth. Blastoise tried one last time to get away but he just couldn't do it. The Solarbeam hit Blastoise and finished him off.

"Blastoise is unable to battle. Choose your next Pokémon"

Ash returned Blastoise and placed his Pokéball back on his belt. In all honesty Ash had expected Volcarona to be tough but to withstand Blastoise's Hydro Cannon was insane. But it was obvious that the battle with Blastoise had taken its toll on Volcarona as he was having to work a lot harder to stay in the air.

"Tyranitar may the Aura guide you."

The Armour once roared as he entered the battlefield. He looked across at his opponent and was disappointed to see that someone had already done the hard work. Tyranitar looked back at Ash with an annoyed look.

"Hey I'm sorry you haven't had a real battle today. But if you win this I promise that you'll fight in the next round." Ash said hoping to placate Tyranitar.

'You'd better use me next round.' Tyranitar grumbled.

"Don't worry I will. Now use Stone Edge."

"Stop him with Hurricane."

Two rings of stones started circling around Tyranitar. He then fired the stones at Volcarona who had started flapping her wings again. Due to his weakened state there wasn't a lot of power behind the attack. This meant that the majority of the stones slammed into him doing a massive amount of damage to him. It took all of Volcarona's strength to not cry out in pain. He watched as the few stones that he did manage to send back at Tyranitar just ricocheted off him harmlessly.

"Bug Buzz."

"Match it with Screech."

Volcarona's body glowed red and he started flapping his wings. His wings then started to vibrate and he shot several red sound waves from them creating a siren like sound. Tyranitar then opened his mouth and let out a loud Screech. The sound created a shock wave that matched Volcarona's Bug Buzz and quickly overpowered it. The Screech caused Volcarona to finally cry out in pain as the high pitched noise made him feel like his eardrums would burst. Once the attack was over Volcarona hunched over. He felt completely drained but he wouldn't give up. He would fight to the end. He straightened himself and looked defiantly at Ash and Tyranitar.

"It's time to end this. Tyranitar Dark Impact."

Alder and Volcarona knew it was over but they weren't going to go down without a fight.

"Flare Impact."

Tyranitar was surrounded in a dark aura and he started charging at Volcarona. The moth like Pokémon quickly became engulfed in flames and flew at Tyranitar. The Pokémon clashed and there was a short battle until Volcarona lost the last of his strength. Tyranitar saw that Volcarona was done so he cut the attack. He walked back to Ash and both trainer and Pokémon sent Volcarona a respectful look. The moth saw this and returned the look and then lost consciousness.

"Volcarona is unable to battle. Ash Ketchum is the winner and will advance to the quarter finals."

Ash and Alder returned their Pokémon and walked to the centre of the battlefield and shook hands. The crowd cheered loudly as they watched the two show each other a great deal of respect with such a simple gesture.

"That was a great battle Alder."

"Yes it was Ash. I'd like to apologise for my actions at the start of the match again."

"Apology accepted."

"Well I think we should leave before someone asks to pay for the repair bills." Alder said jokingly.

Ash looked around at the destroyed battlefield and then at the arena walls which were littered with holes and indentation's from their Pokémon. Ash wondered how much it would cost to fix the damage they'd caused today. But what he did know is that he didn't want to stick around to find out.

"That's probably not a bad idea Alder." Ash replied as he grinned.

After a final handshake they turned around and quickly exited the stadium

"Ash just beat the champion only losing two pokemon." Dawn said amazed

with Ash

"Infernape end this now with Flamethrower." Ash ordered finishing Max Pikachu

"Pikachu." Max said deflected as Ash walked up

"Keep training no matter what your bond with it is powerful." Ash said with a smile as Max nodded and thanked him

"Ash"Pakura said as he turned around hugging her then kissing her
