And since you were new and had little to no training you needed to be took under the wing of a member that had been there for a long time to teach you and train you.

Come into play.
Jessie and James.

They were quite hesitant to welcome a new member to their trio.
Jessie was crossed thinking the boss was wrong for giving them a "little brat" to babysit instead of actually stealing pokemon as their initial plan as always.
James on the other hand felt similar to how Jessie felt about the situation, But ended up thinking about how he and his partner could shape this rookie into the perfect grunt to give them of capturing that Pikachu they urned for the last twenty or so years.

You followed close behind James and Jessie, but far behind from Meowth because he kind of gave you the creeps.
You listened to James telling you everything there was to successfully stealing pokemon, but ignored everything Jessie had to say even if it was important.
In your eyes, Jessie wasn't a good leader and shouldn't be. James was much more for the position and was much more good looking.

It wasn't like you were really paying attention to what he was talking about either. It's just his voice was soft as it traveled through your ear and out the other.
His lavender hair flew in the wind as you four sat hiding in the bushes as he whispered was seemed sweet nothings into your ears.
It was until he said "okay, (Y/n) now get that Pokemon"
You were then knocked out of that little trance you were in and ran towards a small boy with a metapod and a few other pokemon still in their pokeballs. You ran up to him smacked his face enought to knock him out and robbed him of his things.
Walking casually back with the stuff you stole, you held it out blushing in front of James.
"That's...not..okay...good job, (y/n). Tale five." You smiled and nodded and threw the stuff down and sat next to James and rested your head on his shoulder.
