Pokeshipping ~ Why no makeup?
Ash looked at Misty, who was currently fixing her side ponytail at the moment. He cocked his head to the side as he stared at her face, deep in thought.
"WHY ARE YOU STARING AT MY FACE?!" Misty screamed, pulling out her mallet and smashing it onto Ash's head, making him snap out of his thoughts.
"I was just thinking about how you don't wear, uhh, what's that stuff called? Ma-...uhh-"
"You mean MAKEUP?"
Ash nodded his head, feeling as if a lightbulb appeared "Yeah! I was just thinking that you don't need any makeup!"
Misty froze, dumbfounded. Her face heated up, making her blush a tiny bit. She shook her head and smacked Ash with her mallet again. "What's that supposed to mean, Ketchum?!"
Ash tried to defend himself, kicking his feet into the air as Misty kept walking him. "Well, why don't you wear it?! I didn't think it'd make you mad!"
Misty stopped and huffed, sitting cross-crossed applesauce on the ground next to Ash, then sighed "My sisters always wear makeup, and I always wanted to be...different, even if that means I'm unpopular, or being known as the 'ugly one' in the family. I wanted my own goals in my life, not to be easily carried through it. I want a challenge, and I don't want it any other way. I just wished that my sisters respected me for that..." Misty stared at the river that flowed with many different species of water Pokemon, the sun sparkling off the surface.
Ash stared at her in awe from the side, thinking about himself as well. "Well, I wish I had a brother or sister. I think that even if your sisters don't treat you like they should...I think they still love you, even if they don't say it."
Misty shrugged her shoulders "I don't know, I want to believe it, but it's hard to." They both watched the river in silence for a while, only listening to the occasional summer breeze and splashes from the Pokemon swimming by.
Ash finally huffed, then started talking while still looking at the river "I think that being different is really special. You're completely different than your sisters, so it makes it cool, you know? I like the way you are, and I wouldn't change a thing about it! I think going your own way makes you have way more adventure and fun."
Misty hugged her knees close to her chest and looked at Ash. "Thank you Ash, that means a lot to me. I guess you're not dense about everything!"
"Hey! I'm not dense!"
"Yes you are!"
"No, I'm not!"
"Yes, YOU ARE!!"
Misty and Ash kept bickering back and forth, their voices continuing to get louder until they were completely yelling, their voices echoing. Apparently a buizel got fed up with the yelling, so it used its tail to create a huge splash that landed on the two teenagers.
"Ugh, my hat's SOAKED!" Ash complained as he waived it in the air frantically, attempting to dry it. Misty laughed as she didn't mind the water, it felt good on a hot summer day.
"It's not so bad, Ash!" Misty said as Ash grumbled and put on his soggy hat over his wet hair. He looked at Misty, who was currently smiling in happiness and laughter, and all of a sudden he felt happy just by looking at her.
"One of the other reasons why I don't wear makeup, it'll just run down my face from all the water I swim in."
"Well, I think that your smile makes you pretty!" Ash blurted out, while Misty stared at him in awe.
"R-really? Stop being an idiot!" Misty flustered, feeling her cheeks turning red. Ash nodded his head, goofily smiling like a goofball.
"Well, thanks for the compliment I guess, but I wish it was really true."
"It's not how many people think about it, it's how much someone thinks about it."
Misty sighed, thinking about what Ash had just said. "Sometimes, you're not so dense. I guess I've been feeling a little envious of all the attention that my sisters get from thousands of people, but I realized now that it isn't the amount of people who just notice your name, it's the amount of how much someone truly cares about you. You know, it's crazy how far we've gone in life together, but I wouldn't want it to be anyone else."
Ash nodded in agreement "Yeah, I wouldn't change a thing about it, Misty. I don't want you to change from being you."
"I won't."
"So we'll be together forever!"
The two teenagers later right next to each other on the grass in peace, both secretly smiling about the other.
