It's Lovely To See You Again, My Dear (Heattagshipping)

A fluffy Heattagshipping oneshot where Conway is struggling to find someone to date, so he decides to try out some dating apps, and as he does so, he ends up finding his very first love, Dawn.

This idea was one I put as an example of how to write a detailed request (which a few of you definitely didn't read), and then @LogicalLillian379 requested me to do it, so here we are!

------

Conway's POV:

I have had my heart broken many times, but I never give up. I keep on trying to find a girl who loves me back, but I have come to terms that are almost impossible.

But I believe in the impossible, so one day, I decided to download a dating app to my Rotom Phone. And I found myself scrolling on it for a while because I couldn't find any girls that I found attractive.

That or I could tell they wouldn't like me...

But then, a miracle happened! The next girl that appeared on my screen had long, blue hair with yellow hairpins on either side. She was wearing a black jumper and pink scarf and had the cutest smile on her face. And at the very bottom of the screen, it was revealed very obviously that it was Dawn!

Back a while ago, I first met Dawn, and I would like to think we got along quite well. But there was this one time I tried to ask her out on a date, and she declined.

Well, maybe she might have had a change of heart now. So I swiped right and decided to wait a little while for a notification to say if she had accepted or declined.

And to my suprise, she had swiped right too. She also left me a message, so I clicked on the notification... to receive this "blessing":

Dawn:
What the hell are you doing on here, Conway?

Me:
I'm trying to find some ✨️beautiful✨️ ladies to date

Dawn:
Bruhhhhh 🤢🤮

Me:
Well then, what are you doing on here?

Dawn:
...
I'm trying to find a boy or girl I could date

Me,:
Bruhhhh

Dawn:
HEY, DON'T BE BIPHOBIC!!!
Uhhhh, I should just move on, I'm fairly sure Chloe Cerise is on this website, so I can just try her out...

Maybe this would have sounded better in real conversation? That doesn't matter, I'm scaring her off with my snarky comments.

Me:
I'm sorry, do you want to go on a date with me?

Dawn:
After everything you said? Hell no!

Me:
Pleaseeeeee, I'm not leaving until you accept this offer 🙏🏻
It could just be a little catch-up, no romance involved? 🥺

Dawn:
Fineeeeee 😒
Where do you want to meet up?

I was so surprised she was agreeing to all of this that I hadn't planned to put where we would actually be meeting up at.

Me:
We'll meet at the Seven Stars Restaurant at Valor Lakefront

Dawn:
Cool, meet you there

This was all so exciting, but I need to be serious, I can't lose her again. So I flew over to there with Dusknoir and waited patiently outside.

Soon enough, I saw a Tohekiss fly down from the sky, and the girl who jumped off it was none other than Dawn!

"It's lovely to see you again, my dear!" I said, bowing down to her.

"Whatever, let's just get this over with!" Dawn responded bitterly and walked right past me.

I stood up straight again and then followed her inside. We ordered our food at the reception and then sat down and waited for the food to arrive.

"So, how have you been, my dear?" I asked, looking lovingly into her eyes.

"Not bad, I guess, I recently saved an injured Cresselia with my friend, Chloe!" She answered.

"Wow!" I gasped, "Impressive!"

"Thanks," She mumbled, trying to avoid my gaze by looking out of a window, "And how are you?"

"Nothing interesting ever happens in my life anymore, not until I saw you again!" I responded.

'Uhhhhh!" The blue haired girl groaned, "Stop using your stupid, rizz lines on me!"

I felt my heart break into two when I heard that, and my romantic spirit finally left my body.

"I-i-i, need to go outside for a bit!" I stuttered and got out of my chair.

I walked out of the building and then ventured into Lake Valor, trying to take my mind off of my crushing defeat.

I sat down on a patch of grass with my feet dangling off of the edge of the water. I stared down at it dissapointingly. Why could no girl ever love me?

But then suddenly, I thought I could see something fly. I sat up straight but then couldn't find anything. My mind must be playing tricks on me once again.

But then, I saw something again, and it was approaching me. It had been invisible, but then when it landed in front of me, it revealed itself as Azelf!

It looked at me with a sad look, wondering why I looked so sad.

"Hey Azelf, I just feel really sad because there is this girl that I like, but she is playing really hard to get..." I mumbled

The pokémon put its hands on its head and then began using Telepathy.

"Playing hard to get? I'm really sorry to hear that..." It apologised.

"It's fine, I just thought I could finally have my big break and get the girl I have always loved..." I sighed, "Maybe I should just give up..."

"Don't give up!" Azelf exclaimed, "It definitely won't happen if you just give up now, keep fighting, and I guarantee you'll get her!"

"You really think so?" I asked.

"Absolutely!" Azelf said, "But I must go now!"

The Willpower Pokémon disconnected from Telepathy and then quickly waved goodbye and then flew off into this distance.

Suddenly, after, I felt a tap on my shoulder, and a girl sat down beside me.

"Hey, are you okay?" Dawn asked.

"I'm fine now..." I mumbled.

"I'm sorry that I upset you earlier. So much has happened since I last saw you!" She apologised, now finally confident enough to make eye contact with me with her beautiful, blue ones.

"It's understandable!" I replied, smiling.

She suggested we go back inside to eat our food, so that is what we did. We were now open enough to talk to each other without any grudges now.

And then while we were eating, I asked,

"So, do you like me now?" I asked.

"Maybe!" She replied cheekily, giving me a wink.

For the rest of the time we stayed there, we continued chatting and we even got so lost in each other's eyes for hours that when I did look away, I realised it was starting to get dark outside.

"Hey, do you want to take a selfie outside to celebrate our date?" I questioned.

"Yes, please!" Dawn responded, smiling.

I paid the bill for the food and the extended time we had stayed there for. We then skipped outside of the building and towards the lakefront.

I got out my Rotom Phone, and we took a quick selfie. I promised that I would edit it once I got home and would send it to her, so we exchanged numbers.

I waved goodbye and then flew back to my house on my Dusknoir...

When I got back, I went on my Rotom Phone and then found an app that could add filters. I decided to pick a cute cat one, but as I did so, I zoomed into the photo to find Azelf posing in the background.

I had completely forgotten to thank it for giving me the courage to carry on. And whether Azelf had somehow put on a spell to make her like me, I will never know...
