"S-Serena, th-this i-is not a j-joke. I-It's n-not funny. Y-You're terrible at i-it." Ash said while he was in tears

"What are you talking about? I'm serious. Who are you?" Serena still had a blank expression on her face

Ash then walked out and found a doctor. What he said just made Ash shocked

"Miss Yvonne is suffering a really bad amnesia. Her brain had a huge damage from the fall, made a large part of her memories lost. This may be a permanent amnesia. She still remembers who is she, but possibly she won't remember you and the moment before she pumped her head." The doctor said. Ash then collapsed to the ground and sobbed. He shook his head, trying to deny the truth

"Look, Mr. Ketchum. I know it would be hard for you and her the next days, but I hope you can somehow made her remember everything again"

"I understand" Ash stood up, tried to keep his tears in his eyes. He walked out the door and went in Serena's room. She still looked around, wondering where was she

"You again?" Serena turned at Ash

"Yeah, hey Sere" Ash tried to make a smile

"How could you know my name?"

"Well, we were best friends, remember? You know me, don't you? I'm Ash Ketchum"

"Wow, we were?"

"Yeah."

"Well, cool" Serena had the same expression. Ash then took out something from his pocket

"Look, Serena. This is half of the silver badge you made for me. You also have half of it, too" Ash took out the same thing from Serena's waist coat and handed it to Serena

"So what's the meaning of this?" Serena confused

"Well, that's the symbol of our friendship. It's like our bond" Ash explained with a smile

"Guess we were really best friends, huh?" Serena asked. The word "were" just like a knife stabbed right in Ash's heart. He wanted to cry, but he kept strong. He picked up his hat and gave it to Serena

"You see this hat? I still remembered you sewed a line of letters behind it. Take a look"

Serena turned the hat around and saw the line "A x S" behind it. She looked a bit confused

"Well, you used to say you wanted to mark our friendship" Ash explained

"Now that was quite stupid" Serena put the hat aside her. Ash started to shed out a tear. "Stupid" was the word Serena used to describe it. Ash then thought out the last idea, his only hope. He grabbed her ribbon and gave it to her

"I got this ribbon when we were at a subway station. Then I gave it to you as a gift. It- It matched your eyes, S-Serena. Don't you remember?" Ash said, while he tried to keep his tears in his eyes

"Yeah. Cool. Now can you just get out of my room, I'm getting irritated here!" Serena shouted at Ash, and this time Ash can't keep it. He collapsed and cried. His last hope... was over. After all, you just know who's your lover when you let her go. Then Ash realized what he needed to do, before he left

"Serena, I'm sorry. If this is the last time I see you, I want to give you this"

"What do you think you- Hmph!" Serena got cut off from a sudden kiss from Ash. A kiss Ash had kept for too long, only for her

"Goodbye, Serena. Just call me when you need me" Ash slowly reached to the door. Serena then occurred a huge headache. That headache made her remember everything: Her childhood, her family, and especially, her best friend, Ash. She snapped out from the amnesia. Then she saw Ash, who was reaching for the doorknob. Ash was about to open the door until he felt someone hugged him tightly behind. He turned his head around and saw Serena, who was sobbing in his back

"Please, don't leave me, Ash..." Serena sobbed. Ash then let out a verge of tears. He turned around and hugged Serena, but not so tight so he wouldn't damage her head. He let Serena cried in his chest

"I won't Serena. I won't..." The teenagers kept their positions like that for a while. Then Ash carried her bridal style to her bed, as she was still so weak to walk

"I'm sorry, Serena. For letting you like this" Ash cried

"It's okay, Ash. At least you're always here for me" Serena said

"Serena, there's... something I want to tell you, for so long" - Ash then took a deep breath and spoke out - "Since we become best friends, after all the thing we've been through, I started to have a feeling for you. You're special, Serena. I think I-I-I love you"

When Ash finished his sentence, he looked down and saw Serena was crying

"Oh no. Serena, sorry, did I say something wro-" Ash got cut off when Serena put her finger on Ash's lips

"Baka, that was the tears of joy. I love you too, Ash" Serena and Ash leaned in and they kissed, this time is more passionate and longer. They kept kissing as a mark of their friendship and love, as a celebrate for overpassing the amnesia.
