Hailpoon Line
This is the Hailpoon line. Sorry for the lack of color, I don't have a good idea for a color scheme for these guys.
Thanks for helping me colorize this little guy
Type: Water Poison
Conail: The cone snail Pokemon.
Type: Water Poison
This Pokemon lives primarily on the sea bed. When threatened, it fires a harpoon-like projectile filled with a powerful venom that can down small Pokemon with ease.
Poisapoon: The Toxic Dart Pokemon
Type: Water Poison
Be careful when approaching this Pokemon. The venom from this Pokemon can make those afflicted terribly ill. If not treated, it could leave someone in a coma. They are often mistaken for rocks which has led to clueless people accidentally picking this Pokémon up or stepping on one.
Hailpoon: The Harpoon Pokemon
Signature move: Poison Harpoon
Type: Poison
Bio: The user strikes the foe with a piercing spear. This move will always bypass and ignore the effects of Protection-based moves (Moves like Baneful Bunker, Obstruct, and Spikey Shield's secondary effects will not trigger if the foe is hit with this move)
Type: Water Poison
The natural predator of Toxapex and Mareanie. This pokemon will fight savagely with Toxapex using its harpoon-like weapon which is strong enough to pierce through it's tough claws. Corsola have been known to gather in large groups around Hailpoon for protection.
Entry 2: They have a gap at the top of their shell where they store a harpoon-like weapon. Hailpoon use this weapon to defend themselves and to hunt. Beachgoers have been know to find the spines of fallen Toxapex and Mareanie, left over from wild Hailpoon's meals.
Entry 3: They spend a majority of their time buried in the sea floor sand. Any Mareanie or Toxapex within a mile radius will usually flee due to picking up the scent of this Pokémon while Corsola will gather around it.
Entry 4: A custom among Hailpoon is to give Toxapex spines to those they care about, usually fashioned into jewelry. They will do this for trainers whom they share a close bond with.
Inspirations:
These pokemon were inspired by the cone snail. A poisonous sea snail that can shoot harpoon-like barbs at enemies or prey. These projectiles also inspired the weapon.
Hailpoon also takes inspiration from the Giant Triton. A giant sea snail that primarily eats Crown of Thorns Starfish which Mareanie and Toxapex are based on. Also because Crown of Thorns are an invasive species in certain parts of the world, why not give Toxapex/Mareanie a natural predator as well.
