The first member of the elite four you will face

Rhene is an Entomologist known for his immense knowledge on bug types. Despite primarily using bug types, his ace is a Flygon (it's literally in the same egg group as bugs and it's based on one).

He's also an avid western fanatic and is seen most of the time in a cowboy hat.

Rhene met his Flygon when it saved his life from an angry Dranowan Beedrill (Bug, Steel. Known for their large scythe like claws and lack of poison due to being hunted by Zhenogen). He recounts hearing "a song-like sound" as he waited for the sharp blade to strike him only to be surprised when he witnessed the Dragon Pokémon strike down the bug.

Inspiration:

Rhene was inspired by Gonta from DRV3. His backstory with Flygon being inspired by Gonta's execution, same with Dranowan Beedrill.
