Gyms and Gym Leaders

Like most regions, Rokia has your typical 8 gym system. Most of the gyms are themed after a specific Pokémon Type with the exception of two, which instead follow a specific theme.

Upon defeating a Gym Leader, a trainer will receive their respective Gym Badge and TM. However, Rokia's gyms have a unique thing about them. Beating a gym leader grants the Player access to Gym Powers, which act as a substitution for TMs and allow the Player to interact and traverse the world in new ways.

Extra:

Spectar

Bio: A former power plant worker who used to work at an old Power Plant in Mega City before it was attacked by a Robot Master that had been reprogrammed by Wily, the same power plant which would later be repurposed as his Pokémon gym. He quit his job and formed a hard rock band known as the "Terravolts" as both their lead guitarist and singer.

The group is well known throughout Rokia and even Unova. Raiden has even collaborated with Roxie's band "Koffing and the Toxics".

Raiden is best described as "high voltage and full of energy" when it comes to both singing and performing, giving it his all. Outside of that, he tends to be pretty chill and down to earth. This has earned him companions to a light switch.

He wasn't always like this. Back when Raiden worked at the plant, he was described as being much more responsible due to how dangerous electricity can be if left unchecked. However that has mellowed out of him following him quitting his old job.

Raiden has a fascination with technology and electricity. On his spare time, he often helps fix any electrical related issues around Mega City with the help of his Pokémon.

He despises the Emerald Spears since the organization was responsible for the death of two of his bandmates, one of which was his girlfriend. After the Protagonist chases the organization out of the Convention Center, Raiden will inform the Player about a few members that tried to get away by trying to take over and hiding in his gym. Two of the
Grunts are shown soon after, still a bit dazed after being shocked by Raiden's Pokemon (who didn't appreciate the threats made against their trainer). Raiden is also implied to have witnessed the reason Xander lost his eye.

"A few of those Emerald Spear cronies came chargin' into my gym as soon as the Police were showin' up. They tried threatening me but my Pokemon weren't to shocked so they gave them a little spark. Like I used to say "Don't touch a live wire if you don't want to get shocked, man"."

Second Gym

Location: Lento Springs

Type: Water

Leader: Marina

Badge: Springs Badge

TM: ???

Gym Power: Water Skater (Acts as a replacement for the move surf.)

Bio:
(Note: Some of Marina's character come contains elements from the scrapped Battle Network/PKMN crossover that Nat/Tech used to be (Dubbed Pokemon Gregaleo and Fallow but I've never published anything about them online). Sebastian (who's now a minor character in here) was going to be the original water gym leader for Pokémon Greg/Fal located in Seaside Town. His gym would have been apart of the aquarium and he would have been the adoptive son of the owner. His Ace would have been a Walrein. Seaside town (While being an actual place in the Battle network games) has been adapted and will appear in Nat/Tech but will lack a gym, instead the Player will get the chance to battle Sebastian and the aquarium may feature as part of a post game quest.

Granddaughter of the owner of Lento Spring's famous hot spring. Marina and her brother Sebastian hail from the costal town of Seaside of Western Rokia, their father runs a local aquarium where her brother works. Marina used to work there as a receptionist when she was younger but eventually decided to move back to her birthplace of Lento to establish a gym there following the closure  of Seaside's as her brother stepped down from his position to instead focus more on the aquarium's Pokémon Shows and taking care of the mons there.

Like her brother, Marina takes great interest in studying the ecology of Water Type Pokémon and how they interact with their environment. She specializes in primarily in Pokémon that live in Freshwater environments such as those that live around the Lento area.

Visitation to Lento had slowed by quite a bit a few years ago but after the Gym was established tourism had returned.

When not working at the Gym, Marina can be spotted hanging around the many natural springs the surround the town, observing wildlife. During the events of Nat/Tech, her brother Sebastian and his Walrein Fanny are visiting (The Spheal line will be getting a Rokian form based on the Elephant Seal but Seb's is a regular Walrein).

She is saddened by the ever growing expansion of Rokia's major cities as they cut into the environment as it seems to her that they leave "scars upon the land".

Marina is one of the few Gym Leaders who is unaware of the Emerald Spears stuff that is going on. Ironically, two Grunts can be found in the hot springs just chilling out. They won't recognize the player but when spoken to will mention something about Xander's plans before telling the player to scram for eavesdropping.
