Chapter 4: What even is a Mystery Dungeon? Part 2
Last Time: Nero had awakened from yet again another strange dream with the mysterious voice only to receive no answers but more questions. Later he, Bianco, Halo, and the help of a guild member Rusty, ventured into a Mystery Dungeon for the first time but now faced a significant threat, a Golurk.
The Grand Light Guild Hall, normally was a large structure that could fix dozens to close to a hundred Pokémon, filled with the various members who would go out on different types of missions, but as of right now, it was close to empty with many of the members out. Such members like the newest recruits Nero the Riolu and Halo the Eevee out on a mission with two long-time members, Bianco the Zangoose, and Rusty the Scrafty.
After the team left, three Pokémon arrived at the Guild Hall for a single reason, a meeting about the utmost importance. The Guild Master: Julius the Raichu, was in a large office with an oak desk close to the back with a painting of what looked to be where the town was built but long before as it looked more like an open field. In front of the desk was a table that had two sets of seats, mini-couches, on the side of the table.
The Kabutops from earlier that day, Rune, was sitting on one of the couches reading papers on the table. You'd think having blades for hands would make it impossible to hold anything, but Rune actually had experience since he did indeed have blades for hands his whole life and learned a trick by just picking things up with the side of his hands. The look on his face though was of pure horror. "Is this real master?" Rune asked the Guild Master who kept a stoic face to not give one of his allies any anxious thought. "How did we lose one of the keys?! I thought only a few Pokémon knew they existed?"
"That is a good question, Rune. One of the keys goes missing, a high rise in bandit activity, these beings are known as Voids, and now the child, Nero. So much is happening." Julius said looking over similar papers that Rune was reading. Besides the papers, a plate and teacup appeared, and a kettle poured tea into the cup.
The one pouring the liquid into the cup was a large roundish creature that was floating in the air with a sinister-looking face, red eyes a dark purple color body, they also had a bowtie right under their rather large mouth. They were a Pokémon known only as a Gengar, this one however was a different color, a Shiny if you will, a rare trait that a Pokémon is born with that both makes them a different color but also whenever they enter a battle or sometimes at, they will release a shining glimmer that surrounds their body. Most Pokémon who are born shiny would receive either a better color pallet and some would look downright back like being a boring or ugly shade of green, some Pokémon like Gengar just get a lighter or darker shade that makes it almost impossible for someone to tell the difference. "Your tea, sir?"
"Thank you, Shade," Julius said to the Gengar named Shade, a servant to the guild's leader for generations, Ghost types typically don't really age like normal Pokémon, they do get older, but they can live for centuries even over a millennium before fading into nothing. Shade has served the guild since its founding nearly a hundred years ago. "Have the others arrived yet?"
"Yes, fellow members Gaius, Minerva, Apollina, Artemis, Neptune, and our guest Master Hephaestus of the Knights of Olimpia with his party have all arrived, sadly master's Atlas, Raider, and Berserker are out for mission reasons and won't return until tomorrow. As for our last guest Master Robin, he is still recovering after what happened the other day." Shade had told the guild's master. Julius thanked them and informed them to send the Gengar off to get those who they mentioned.
"This isn't good, I thought we kept them hidden... What about the other keys?" Rune had asked Julius who replied.
"So far it seems only the one that was hidden within the forest went missing, Minerva had said that she felt it disappearing and she went with Troy and Co. to see and found it was indeed gone. The other two we have been still where we kept them. The Keys owned by the others are kept safe too," Julius said as they got up from their seat and walked to the painting on the wall. "Antony, Hades, and Poseidon have theirs, and in locations, they think we don't know about... best keep it that way, we don't want them knowing that, especially Hades."
Rune couldn't help but agree as he knew who the three, he mentioned personally were, all three were Pokémon you wouldn't want to mess with. Outside of the room in the main hall of the guild, there was a large group of Pokémon, Apollonia the Espeon and Artemis the Umbreon were among them.
With them was what looked to be a small humanoid Pokémon with yellow fur and black stripes, one being in the shape of a lightning bolt, a few feline traits like their head which had a pair of antennas with bulbs on them, and clawed feet and a tail, it was the Electric Pokémon Electabuzz. Another looked like the Gengar, but they were not a ghost but had a pink body that had brown tips on what was most likely their ears and a pair of fairy-like wings, the Fairy Pokémon, Clefable. One of the last ones looked to be an emperor penguin with its flippers having blue edges along with three golden claws on the side of them facing the penguin, and its beak having three extensions of three corns that make it look like a trident, this was Empoleon, the Emperor Pokémon.
The last Pokémon stood out the most, unlike the others, this one was both larger and more intimidating than any of the others. This one was a quadrupedal beast-like Pokémon that looked to be made of molten magma with some metals sticking out of its legs, back, and forehead. It was the Lava Dome Pokémon, Heatran. This Heatran was different than any other, they had a box that was almost as large as their back and looked to be made of pure metal. They also had a Y-shaped mark with a horizontal line close to the bottom of the letter on the dome they had on their forehead.
All the Pokémon were waiting patiently, each of them knowing that it was important to be at the guild, but they still had a bit of worry about them. Shade had entered the room and floated in the air to inform all the guests that the Guild master invited them to enter his office. They were all meeting to discuss the missing key that Julius and Rune were just talking about and the topic of the child, Nero.
Location: Athena Forest Mystery Dungeon F4
Nero the Riolu, Bianco the Zangoose, Halo the Eevee, and Rusty the Scrafty all stood in front of the Golurk that had both a sign around its neck that had the word "CLAY" rewritten on it and a box around its waist. Alan the Murkrow was in the air, watching everything, and saw the behemoth in front of the party.
"Um, what is a that doing here?" Nero asked, confused at why the Golurk was there. The others were nervous and bewildered by the fact that this Pokémon was in front of them. They had no idea why this was here, and it wasn't good.
"This thing might be higher level than us all, we'll need to be careful," Bianco said to the others in hopes of keeping them calm, it wasn't really working for them, even for himself.
"Nobody moves," Rusty said to them, a quick feeling of confusion washed over them, why weren't they supposed to move? "Rune told me about this once, this Pokémon's sight is based on movement; we must remain still to avoid it. We stay still then it will leave us alone." Rusty started to the team before the Golurk started moving towards them. "Oh wait, nope, he was talking about a Tyrantrum, my bad."
"Rusty, quick, use an escape orb!" Bianco yelled to Rusty, using an escape orb would get them out of the dungeon and away from the Golurk, mainly alive, however, Rusty looked at him confused. Bianco knew why immediately. "You... you don't have any escape orbs, do you?"
"I thought you had some, you're always grabbing items at the market!" Rusty snapped back, even though out of the four of them he could stand a chance because he was a Dark-type, but the Golurk was a powerful Pokémon. Scrafty were known for taking some hits, but a Golurk could hit harder than most can take. The Golurk then leaped into the air, it was still far but then its legs entered the skirt they had, and a burst of fire exited it, like a rocket taking off at high speeds it started to launch towards them. "Oh shoot, it can fly?!"
"Dodge it!" Bianco cried out to the others as he grabs both Halo and Nero before jumping to the left and Rusty to the right to evade the Golurk as it flies past them, however, unknown to them, it would still him someone Al the Murkrow and it landed the hit with the full force of a wrecking ball to a brick wall. Al was sent flying and hit the wall of the dungeon luckily for him the others didn't notice, even the Golurk looked around a little confused.
"Thank you focus band... That Golurk is powerful, and they felt different? They aren't normal." Al thought to himself as the Golurk looked around before noticing the others and turned to them and started to march towards them. "This Golurk is powerful too, these guys don't stand a chance against them..."
If the others could have heard Al's thoughts, they would agree, they didn't need to even see it move to prove that this thing is powerful. Both Rusty and Bianco knew they had one advantage, Golurks were more physical attackers so perhaps they could run away to the next floor and just avoid the Golurk when it flies at them.
"Alright, here's the plan, we keep our distance and run towards the exit. If this moving statue flies at us we dodge them, it must be slow in movement and--" Rusty shouted his plan to the others until he was cut off as he was hit by a beam of pink energy. The blast was powerful as he was covered in what looked like burns and soot covered his body before he fell to the floor.
"RUSTY!" Bianco rushed to his friend's side and put what looked like a seed into his mouth followed by his body having a green glow for a second before his body looked as if it recovered from most of the burns. "What was that?" Bianco said as he turned to see the Golurk had its left hand raised and he made out what looked to be a hole in its palm with what looked like a hoe's head sticking out before it retracted back into the palm.
"What was that?" Nero asked out of fear and confusion, he had never seen a Golurk do that before.
"No idea, but it was a Fairy-type move, I could feel it." Rusty said as he got back up onto his feet and surprised both Nero and Bianco.
"You can't be serious, Golurks can't use Fairy-Type moves." Bianco couldn't believe it; this is oddly enough the second most bizarre thing he's seen this week alone with the first being Ivan the Sneasel calling himself a Cross-Void.
"It felt like it did four times the damage, the only way for me to take that much damage was from a Fairy-Type move." Rusty struggled to get to his feet at first, he looked on at the Golurk, it was both powerful and dangerous, they had no chance of fighting it. "Alright, forget about facing this thing and just run, we need to escape the dungeon, get to the town, and wait for my team, we can come back to face this thing another time with back up."
"If you say so, we just need to--" Bianco was about to tell the others to run away, the Golurk changed again with its legs entering its own body and charging at the team with full force. "Not again! Get down!" Bianco said as he tackled both Nero and Halo out of the way as the Golurk flew past them and now started to block the entrance, surprising both Bianco and Rusty. "What?! Don't tell me this thing heard and understood us talking?"
"Meaning it isn't Wild, it knows what it is doing too." Said Rusty as he readied a fighting stance. "Alright, we just need to get past this thing and make a run for it!"
"How do we fight them off to that? Halo and I can't touch them, we only know Noral Type moves." Nero asked the two already experienced Explorers; they didn't have a single move that could hit the enemy in front of them. Nero did think about the sword, but he remembered something, he hadn't summoned it once since their fight with Ivan the other day.
"Like I said, run..." Rusty said to the others, if anyone was getting out of there it had to be the both of them, they're both inexperienced and too young for this fight, they had to ruin. The two then looked to Bianco for guidance.
"He's right, the both of you run, the two of us have Dark-Type moves and can hit this big bully with everything we got, you both just make it to the exit, don't worry about us too, we'll be right behind you, I promise." Bianco said as he looked to the two with a smile, but Nero heard the unsureness in his voice, they know they have not even a chance to beat this thing, but they needed to get out of there.
"Not without you both!" Nero cried out to the two, he wanted them all to get out.
"Don't worry kid... we know what we're doing, after we Explorers know about the dangerous stuff down here, so we don't have to worry about losing to this guy!" Bianco said as he readied his claws, he tossed Rusty three seeds at him which he caught. Both he and Rusty started charging at the Golurk. "JUST GET OUT OF HERE! We'll smash this statue into pieces!"
The Golurk had raised a fist and slammed it down when the two got close to it bit, they evaded the punch and ran to each of its side. Bianco's claws were covered in a dark energy the surrounded them, he then slashed at the Golurk while yelling out "Night Slash!" while Rusty's mouth had a dark aura around it and when he opened his mouth dark fangs popped out and yelled out "Crunch!" followed with him biting down at the Golurk's leg.
The two had a face of confidence were washed off as they felt something, it was super effective, it was just normally effective. How they felt it was when a Pokémon hits or gets hit by a move both Pokémon would feel the damage that was dealt as it would be either effective or not, but they didn't feel like they didn't much damage to begin with.
The Golurk then swung both its arms to both its sides and swat the two away from it then turned both fist into palms with the hoes head sticking out of each one before firing two different beams of energy at the two, instead of the pink beams they were a silver color. Once the smoke was cleared, they were covered in burns and soot before taking one of the seeds they had that seamlessly healed them from their injuries.
Once they got up, they noticed that Nero and Halo barley moved, either they were too stunned to move or just wanted to help the two, Bianco couldn't argue with them on that they didn't move and leaving the two behind. Bianco had another idea, he pulled out and tossed a flame shaped seed at the Golurk which exploded, the Golurk showed no sign of damage or that it minded the attack.
"Okay that's just unfair..." Bianco noticed the Golurk aiming its palm again, this time he managed to dodge the attack. He then noticed Rusty charging again, this time his head was covered in an iron metal and yelled "Iron Head!" as head butted its right shoulder, but the Golurk retaliated by an upper cut punch, luckily Rusty had blocked it with his arms but still had taken damage. "RUSTY!"
Bianco was clearly worried for his friend but then noticed the smirk on his face as Rusty had the same flame shaped seed in his mouth before they bit down on the seed and burst of flames came out of its mouth, this time the Golurk had actually backed off, even though Rusty didn't feel it as using an item to deal damage but could tell from the Golurk's actions that it wasn't a fan of fire.
Rusty was still sent flying and landed not too far from the two kids. "Alright, good news, it is possibly weak to fire, but I don't know how. Golurk's aren't weak to fire?" Rusty said as he got back up onto his feet.
Nero thought it was strange, why was it weak to fire? He then remembered what Ivan had said "The power of another Pokémon, the strengths and weaknesses of that Pokémon, their attacks and abilities." It was weak to fire and using attacks it shouldn't have, this wasn't a normal Pokémon, this was a Cross-Void. "Bianco, this is a Cross-Void!"
Bianco was shocked and Rusty was confused, they had never heard of that term before, but he didn't have time to ask what they were talking about and just stood back up. Bianco managed to get back to the others still facing the Golurk that was collecting itself, it didn't like fires at all by the look it of it. "Alright, so that explains why it was it backed off from the flames, it was weak to fire, but it can handle Dark-Type attacks, a Blast Seed can deal Fire-Type damage if you eat and spit it out but not when you throw it."
"I have no idea what you guys are talking about but if it means surviving this fight then I'll go with it, I have two more Blast Seeds. Bianco?" Rusty said to the Zangoose who showed him three more seeds in his clawed hands and does two at Nero and Halo, giving each of them one. "Whoa, you want to drag them into this fight, isn't one of them Apollonia's kid, you know she might rip you in half for this."
"Worth it if we survive this, plus good learning experience," Bianco said before telling the two their new plan. "Alright, you can both help out, just get close to it and put the seed in your mouth and chew, you'll be burning out a gust of fire that will do major damage to this creep."
"Will it hurt us?" Halo asked, clearly unsure about this idea.
"No, you'll be burning a little after words and you'll feel like you eaten something hot in your mouth." Bianco said as they all got ready and charged at the Golurk with Al watching them go into battle confused.
"Why didn't master tell me about this Golurk, we haven't heard of them before? Who are they?" Al was just as shocked and confused about this Golurk, just what is going on about this? "I should report this to the master, but if things go south, I'll have to jump in and attack the Golurk, he was told to watch the Riolu or save them if things go south... Although if they get knocked out, I could always take the Riolu to my master for him?"
The team managed to get close enough to the Golurk who threw a punch at the team who scattered around and surrounded the Golurk, Bianco being the first one to attack by eating the Blast Seed and fired a burst of fire at the back of the Golurk.
Rusty used this chance, jumping up into the air with his Blast Seed in his mouth and fired a burst of fire into their face, both dealing damage and even blinding the Golurk and forcing it onto a knee.
Halo was saw a spot she could attack and chew on the Blast Seed she was given and just like Bianco said it was like she eaten something spicy before releasing a burst of fire from behind and up the stone skirt the Golurk had, both Rusty and Bianco both wanted to have a word with her about her idea for a spot to hit. He may have been an enemy but aiming at a spot like that wasn't a nice idea.
For Nero, he used his Blast Seed for a clear shot into the Golurk's chest, they all managed to hit the Golurk with everything they had other than a single Blast Seed remaining, they had all thought that was enough, that they managed to beat the enemy until the smoke was cleared. The Golurk then threw a punch, their fist was covered with a green energy before hitting Nero with full force.
After Nero was sent flying the Golurk used their other fist for a punch. This time it turned dark like it was surrounded by shadow, once it threw its punch a shadow-like fist came flying and hit Rusty and sent them flying just like Nero.
The smoke cleared and the Golurk only had some burns around it, it did take some minor damage, but it was still moved. The Golurk turned around to see both Bianco and Halo who were too stunted to even move, the Golurk could however as it aimed its palm again but this time for Halo. Bianco snapped back into reality and managed to grab Halo to run away with her, but the Golurk still fired a silver beam at them, Bianco tossed Halo away before taking a shot in the back from the blast.
Halo had gotten back up and ran towards Bianco to see if they were alright, they looked worse for wear as that blast seemed to have landed a critical hit on him. She looked at the Golurk with fear in her eyes as it started to match forward towards them, most likely to finish the fight by attacking Halo. Bianco barely had the strength to stand but struggled to get another one of the seeds he's been using to get back up.
Rusty had already eaten his seed, he looked at the last one he had, they couldn't last much longer without any more of these Revival Seeds. He noticed Nero and started to hop to the Riolu, noticing the Golurk getting closer to Halo he marched faster. He needed to help Nero first then perhaps they could attack the Golurk again, it could be on the feast of losing after all the damage it had just taken.
Nero was looking out cold from the punch, it was a very real punch. He has never been hit that hard before, even in the orphanage he has been punched before by other children, not in fights but because of roughhousing, they were just kids who thought they were invincible. He then felt something, the Revival Seed placed in his mouth and Rusty forced him to chew the seed which healed him. As Nero sat back up, he noticed the Golurk was getting closer to Halo and Bianco, he acted fast and picked up a rock off the ground and tossed it at the back of the Golurk's head which made it change its course at Nero and Rusty.
Nero had to think of something, they couldn't even beat it and with only one Blast Seed left they had to use it well. He looked at the Golurk and at the others, they had no idea what to do, until he remembered the sword and shield. Why the sword and shield came to his mind he didn't know but he felt like he needed it, then the words that the voice told him played in his head "The sword and shield are a part of you. They will come when you need them. They can give you the strength to face any foe Pokémon or the defense to take on an army" So he thought of the shield first, he needed them for the fight.
The Golurk readied its palm for a blast, it fired the pink beam of energy at the two, right before the beam hit them a bright red light came from Nero's left hand. The beam landed its hit on the target leaving a cloud of smoke. When the smoke cleared, the shield that Nero once wielded in his fight with Ivan just the other day was in his hand as it blocked the attack, surprising everyone from Bianco, Halo, Rusty, even Nero since it looked as if he took no damage. "Metal Burst!" Said the shield before it fired a metal ball that was sent flying and landing a clean hit right in the Golurk's face before it explodes. "Alright! I now know how to bring this thing out!"
"Kid that is awesome! I have so many questions but as Boss Raider would say: "Save your questions after the fight." So how about we just focus on kicking this big statue where the sun doesn't shine! And I have a good plan!" Rusty said before he picked up Nero and held in front of him along with the shield facing where the Golurk stood before charging at them. "Nero Shield!"
"Are you seriously using me as a shield right now!" Nero yelled as the two charged at the Golurk. This was a good thing, Nero thought of a good idea. "Rusty, when we get close throw me up in the air!"
"Alright!" Rusty answered as they reached the Golurk, it didn't fire at them, so it was either in a state of shock or blind from the smoke around its head. Rusty then tossed Nero in the aim just right above the Golurk, he raised the shield above his head with t glowing blue before it turned to the sword he used the day prier and coming from the sword it yelled in Nero's voice "Metal Claw!" with the blade changing to a silver metallic color that shined bright before swinging it down, cutting the shoulder of the Golurk and forcing the dust to clear from the attack and followed by Nero biting down on the last Blast Seed in his mouth before blasting out a burst of fire right into their face.
The feeling of pride washed over Nero as he thought that was enough to finish off the Golurk with everything they'd thrown at it. That feeling of pride faded away as the Golurk was still standing before turning their attention towards solely at Nero. It started to slowly move its hand towards Nero who readied his sword but was shacking in fear, both Bianco and Rusty charged in to help and save Nero by using the attacks that they know would do damage such as Bianco's Night Slash and Rusty's Crunch to do something.
The Golurk's hand was close to Nero, all the young Riolu could do was stab the Golurk's palm but couldn't do much before the Golurk reached him. Nero was expecting the worst, like he was about to be crushed or blasted at point blank range, but what happened was surprising, the Golurk was gently patting his head, it wasn't too hard, but it was gentle like a greeting. Nero was confused about this, why was the Golurk being kind now after they just had a fight with it no even more than a minute ago. "Wait, what is going on here?"
"Nero, get back!" Bianco yelled with Halo in his arms, he then moved to Nero pulling them away from the Golurk and put Halo next to him. Both he and Rusty stood between them and the Golurk who was now in a peaceful state now. "What happened to this thing? Why wasn't it attacking us?"
"I wouldn't be questioning that... It stopped attacking us after Nero used that shield and sword, where did he get those?" Rusty asked as he and the others were confused about this situation.
The Golurk was now standing still, like the statue it was before its legs caved into its torso, it was like it was about to blast off into the air again, but it didn't. It just lowered itself low enough as if it wanted to make a conversation. Nero walked over to the Golurk, during the fight he didn't notice anything about them odd, but now that it was quiet, he heard something. He pressed his ear close to them and he could hear gears like clockwork. He then noticed the Golurk had their hand out, the palm facing down and the hoes head sticking out and pressed it to the ground and moving it, writing in the dirt.
"Hmm, it's writing something?" Rusty pointed out as they all looked at the Golurk's action, it looked like it couldn't communicate naturally but with writing. When it was done writing, everyone saw it and then were confused because it was both in another language and it was sloppy, like child who has starting to write. "Well, this... this um..."
"...Sloppy..." Bianco chimed in before thinking about it more and how the Golurk wrote. "then again, he was using the palm of his hand, so he couldn't have known how he was writing since his hand was blocking it from its sight but... what does it say? It's in another language."
"It says "friend"." Nero answered with the other turning to him, he was confused until he realized it wasn't written in the normal Pokémon language but rather it was written in human.
"You can read human?" Bianco said clearly confused about this fact. "How did you know how to read human?"
"Oh, I just learned it growing up, Hehe." Nero lied under his breath so as not to worry about the others learning that he was once human. Nero then realized something, the Golurk stopped after seeing his sword and shield. "I guess this Golurk is connected to my sword she shield somehow?"
"Yeah, that could be the case, but I have some questions myself by the way..." Rusty said as he placed a hand on Nero's shoulder, he had a serious look on his face, well as serious as a Scrafty could make. "...How about you all explain to me what just happened and what a cross-void is?"
"Um... Well, you see..."
"Master Julius was going to inform everything to the guild later when we get back. We could explain to the best we can, but it isn't much and hard to believe." Bianco chimed in with Rusty just scoffing at his claim.
"Hard to believe? Sorry Bianco, but being an Explorer, we tend to keep high standers for "Hard to believe" or anything, I have seen the peaks of mountains that were close to the clouds, a moving mansion by ghosts, and we just survived a powerful Golurk and a Riolu pulling out a sword and shield out of thin air. So yeah, what can be hard to believe?"
10 Minutes of an explanation later
"Whoa," Rusty exclaimed as he and the others had more food out to finish eating, mainly Oran berries and drinking fresh water they brough to stay hydrated. Rusty was in complete disbelief about hearing what a Cross-Void was to their understanding and about Nero's ability to summon the sword and shield. "You're right, it was hard to believe."
"I told you." Bianco said as he finished his food.
"You told me." Rusty said before turning his attention to Nero. "Although, that sword and shield you were talking about, the one you can summon, that is even more hard to believe, never heard of Pokémon summoning weapons like that before, it sounds almost like a Knight of Inizio."
"Kight of Inizio? What's that?" Nero asked confused.
"Wait, you never heard of them?" Bianco answered. "A Knight of Inizio is a warrior who fights for the Inizio Kingdom, the country we live in, they are Pokémon who get partnered with a Honedge-evolution line. They mainly protect the kingdom's capital from threats and send armies to stop unjust revolts and large bandit camps."
"Whoa, so they're like real knights and stuff?"
"Yeah, but it sounds boring, being in a guild is much better, you can see the world whenever you want instead of waiting to be told to march into battle." Bianco added as he finished the last of his Oran berry.
"Hey, guys um... what do we do about... Clay?" Halo said as she looked over the Golurk that was no sitting beside them passively.
"Clay?" Bianco and Rusty said confused.
"You know, because of the sign around their neck like a neckless? It might be their name?" Halo explained her reasoning for calling the Golurk, Clay. They turned to the Golurk who looked back at them.
"I guess we can call it Clay for now. If it does respond to it, then we'll call it that from here onward. Until then, we should finish the mission and find that item." Bianco said as they all got back up, when the Golurk did so too, Bianco gave it a glare, it was clear he didn't trust this thing for the reasons of it starting the fight and the fact it was a Cross-Void, the last one they faced burned down Apollonia's.
They all went to the stairs in the center of the room to leave with Al still far enough for no one to see him. He dropped his camouflage form to look around before tossing a ring in the air which turned into a small portal. "Master, I have a lot to report about what just happened..."
"Speak now, what is it that learned about the Riolu?"
"Well, I must first ask... is their a Cross-Void that was originally a Golurk?" Al asked with the portal being blocked by a large red glowing eye, it alone told Al that his master wasn't pleased with this, not with the information but the fact about the Golurk.
Location: The Dust Desert, Athena Forest Mystery Dungeon Exit
Nero, Bianco, Halo, Rusty, and now Clay the Golurk all made it out of the Mystery Dungeon, they looked tired as they had been in there for a few hours looking for an item, the Diet Ribbon, a scarf with a red and white checkered pattern like a picnic tablecloth. "Alright, mission is complete!" Nero yelled in victory as he held the Diet Ribbon above him. Bianco wasn't wrong, it was on the final floor, and they found it almost instantly when they entered the last floor and walked straight to the exit. "Now what do we do now?"
"Well, first, you use that Badge and aim it to the sky..." Bianco said to Nero who did what he suggested, they aimed their badge to the sky which released a red beam into the air surprising bot Nero and Halo. Z" ...That will let a Messenger know we have something." Bianco explained before they saw something flying towards at high speed before landed in front of them.
What landed in front of them was a pelican-like bird Pokémon with a large bill that made up most of their body, they have white feathers along with blue tipped wings and top of their heads, and their eyes looked like semicircles with a horizontal white line between them. It was Pelipper, the Water bird Pokémon. "Pelipper? What are they doing here?" Halo asked in confusion.
"Pelipper here is part of the Delivery Guild," Bianco said explaining the Pelipper's reasoning for being here. "They send messages to far off lands, this one is part of the Recovery units, an Item recovery. The Recovery unit is made of three types, items, Injury, and Minor wanted Pokémon. They collect what we find in dungeons and bring them back to our guild so we can collect our rewards when we return. It is mostly for Pokémon who get stuck in mystery dungeons since they tend to get hurt inside of them."
"Oh, that's cool." said Nero, he was impressed with how this worked, it might be so no other team would steal the credit or the item they retrieved from the mystery dungeons. The Pelipper then explained that they needed to sign some papers and to hand over the item. Once the item was placed in a satchel the Pelipper was carrying, it readied itself for takeoff and under a second it was already in the sky far from the team. "WHOA! I didn't know Pelippers were that fast?" Nero said he was surprised by the Water bird Pokémon's speed.
"They go through a ton of training to build up great speed for deliveries. You'd be surprised at how fast they could actually go." Bianco explained as they all entered the desert, their next destination, Bacchus town.
They walked through the desert, since it was almost the afternoon it was almost at its hottest, luckily, they had brought plenty of water for the trip to the town. On the way they saw a few Wild Pokémon just minding their own business and even some structures like rock patterns, such as one that looked like it was fist with the thumb out like it was hitch hiking.
With everything Nero had seen so far, it was an amazing trip, he was seeing things he would never see while back at the orphanage, this new world had so much to offer him. It may have had its downs, such as the Cross-Voids and him getting punched really, really, REALLY hard by Clay earlier, but it felt like it was getting better. He even remembered something. "You'll always belong here Nero." It was the Caretaker that would always say that and every time he remembers those words, he would now scoff them off.
In just a short few days, less than a week, he felt like he belonged to this world more than he ever did back there. I belong here now. Nero thought to himself. This place maybe dangerous, but at least I am far away from the Caretaker... man, it feels so strange, I know I saw them the day before, but it feels like I don't remember their name now, but why?
Nero thought hard and couldn't remember the Caretaker's name now? It was as if he lost some stuff after entering this world. Maybe the next time he sleeps he can have a chat with the voices in his dream.
As they walked Rusty looked at the sky before stopping in his tracks. The others followed suit, they looked at Rusty, they wanted to ask why he stopped walking until they looked to the sky too, they saw smoke in the distance, all of it coming from a town, Bacchus town.
Rusty started to run towards the town, the amount of smoke in the air showed that it was a major fire, so he had to run to help. Bianco was chasing after him to help but Nero and Halo were told to stay with Clay, but Nero shouted at the two. "HEY! We can use Clay! He can fly so we could get there faster!" This made Rusty and Bianco stop before turning back.
The two returned to the Golurk with Nero and Halo already on the shoulders of Clay while both Bianco and Rusty retreated to hop onto his back as it began to fly towards the town. The feeling of panic for them all was real, if there was smoke there was fire and with fire someone had to be hurt. They just hoped to make it to town in time.
Bacchus town
Bacchus town, the town of the Dust Desert and one of its many great jewels of the once thought to waste land. This town was known for bringing in both life and money to the Pokémon of the Desert, those who live in it as their home. The town's finances are made from their highly known juices and wine that they make and sell around the kingdom of Inizio. The town was known for being mostly Grass Type Pokémon with a few Ground and Water Types who help around the town. Each building looked to be made of clay and stone with most of them painted white with purple high likes to each of them. However, some of them were burning.
The town was being attacked with many of the residents hiding due to them being too weak for battles or already on the ground injured or worse. In the town square, a fountain was damaged and released no water as a few Pokémon were still standing and facing the attacks. Five Pokémon came to the town and four of them started attacking, one of them being Ivan the Sneasel. The other four wore cloaks, covering them before being seen, one of them was laying down on their sides and using one of their hands as a rest. "Haha, now this is why I fight, the thrill of fighting, it's just right!" Ivan screamed impure ecstasy.
"More like boring," Said the cloaked Pokémon who was lazily laying down before they pulled out a book and started to read. "This town was full of Pokémon that worked more than train to become fighters, there isn't anything good about this fight..." The cloaked Pokémon said as Buizel was hiding from the fight at the side of a building, they did look minorly beaten. They noticed the Pokémon being lazy and thought this would be a good chance to take one of them down. They shouted out "Water Pule!" Before firing a blast of water that released a ring of water as it went to the enemy who just raised on hand with two rings leaving his cloak which both turned into two small portals with one taking the Water Pulse and the other spitting it out before it landed back at the Buizel, knocking them down and out. "...Rude, attacking someone while they read."
"You could at least help; you know make this quicker for us?" Another one of the cloaked Pokémon said before the lazy looking one turned to lay on his back and looked up to the sky before noticing the jet scream left behind by Clay, followed by the sight of the Golurk falling towards them.
The Cloaked Pokémon that looked Lazy had jumped out of the way as the Golurk landed hard onto the ground while they still had the others on them. Each one of them looked as if they were ready for the fight that was about to happen. "Sorry everyone, but we're here to "Crash" this fight!" Bianco said clearly making a pun, with everyone who heard looking at them with annoyance at the dumb pun and Nero just chuckling at it, he thought it was funny.
