Chapter 3- Dancing with Death.

Dragon Mountain.

Everyone had quickly recovered from the effects of teleportation. After a few times, you got used to it.

Dragon Mountain was a gigantic solitary mountain that could only be reached by traveling through the tumultuous mountain range that cut through the massive forest.

The mountain actually had multiple exits depending on what path you took. The main path led you through the mountain up 45 floors to the peak where it was said an ancient dragon lived.

The other paths were reached by going through different sets of stairs on certain floors. The path they were taking required a special set of stairs on the 8th floor.

According to the Spearow, it was very uncommon for Mystery Dungeons to have multiple paths leading to different locations, but it seemed to happen all the time in their Mystery Dungeons.

"Alright. There are about 15 floors to get to where we're going, best to start going quickly." Alpha grunted and moves forward.

Omega shuddered and followed him. "I have a bad feeling about this."

Melanie was about to comfort Omega when a dragon jumped out. The dragon had two heads, each with large mouths and black hair covering their eyes. They walked on four cobalt legs and had some type of wings on their back.

"Zweilous!" Karl said, for some reason he knew just about every Pokémon that inhabited the island. Karl charged forward and slashed at it, striking it in the middle of its heads.

The Zweilous hissed and blasted some kind of purple beam at them from each mouth. Alpha countered one with his flamethrower but the other barreled toward Omega, he panicked and began to dig underground. Omega narrowly avoided the attack.

Karl was enveloped in water and sped forward, ramming into Zweilous. The dragon type held its ground however and both heads chomped down on Karl's arms

"Let me go you stupid thing! Take this!" Karl began to crackle with electricity and unleashed a thunderbolt into Zweilous's mouths. The Pokémon released Karl as is writhed in pain.

That's when Omega leaped out from below Zweilous, striking the monster from underneath. The dragon and dark type Pokémon was flung into the air and when it landed it was unconscious.

"Ha, I knew we could do it!" Alpha said with a smug grin.

"You barely even did anything." Karl griped and he walked onwards.

They encountered many more dragons slowly being worn down further and further. On the tenth floor, they had encountered a dragon that wouldn't even fall to Melanie's future sight.

The dragon was very large with thick green scales lining its body. It was surprisingly lean and had large red claws for hands. On the sides of its face were giant red blades.

The monster struck Karl in the head with its claw and he crumbled to his knees. The beast raised its claw to strike one final time when Omega slammed into it headfirst.

The monster, now turning its attention on Omega, blasted a fire from its mouth. The fire struck Omega and flung him into a wall.

"Ack... that hurts."

Alpha spewed flames at the dragon. "Fight fire with fire! Yes, I've always wanted to say that!" The beast sped forward and punched Alpha in the gut. He was thrown onto his back and groaned.

A series of blue pellets struck the creature from behind. "Let's dance," Melanie said, standing confidently.

The Pokémon roared and its claws began to glow purple. They expanded to a giant size and the beast sped forward. Melanie swiftly dodged the first claw but the second one hit her in her side. She was flung into a wall but just then a portal opened above the monster and a powerful wave of psychic energy struck it.

The creature fell to the ground, seemingly unconscious, when its eyes snapped open and it launched upwards. Roaring with intensity.

"Are you kidding me! Taking two future sight attacks is one thing but also all the other attacks we've been pelting this thing with?" Melanie shouted. But before the monster could attack her a small red figure enveloped in purple rushed forward, it struck the Pokémon in the back with its purple claws and the Pokémon finally fell, truly fainted.

At this point, everyone was recovering from the battle and they all focused on the small figure.

Fuego grinned, the purple aura dispersed leaving him clearly visible "You're welcome. Now get up! We need to get a Dragon Fang."

"Fu-Fuego? What are you d-d-doing here?" Omega asked.

Fuego shrugged. "I wanted a Dragon Fang for business purposes and you guys were going to Dragon Mountain. Decided I'd make your trip worth something more than saving some random Pokémon. Then I find you're losing this battle and I have to save you!"

"We didn't need saving. Especially from a rookie." Alpha grunted.

"Well clearly. You were only down three team members and a fourth almost down." Fuego replied sarcastically.

"Look, ladies, while I'd love to watch you two bicker we've got a Mystery Dungeon to complete and like it or not a Pokémon with a super effective attack is useful," Karl stated and with that, the group continued onwards. They met a few more enemies but nothing was as bad as the Pokémon they'd faced on the 10th floor.

Finally, they reached the 15th floor. The floor was a small little alcove on the mountain. With nothing but the dark rocks below awaiting someone unfortunate enough to fall.

"This is the place. There should be a Kakuna around here somewhere." Alpha said.

"All this time and I still don't have a Dragon Fang! Man, I better get one or I'm going to be so peeved!" Fuego complained.

Melanie looked around. "It has to be somewhere around here. It's not like there's anywhere else to go. Did we take a wrong turn?" Melanie pulled out her nap and began checking it.

"I just want this to be done! These darn dragons seem to resist every attack I use!" Karl snapped.

"Gu-guys?"

"Well, maybe you should just learn ice beam!" Alpha growled back.

"Guys?"

"Do I look like I want to learn that move?"

"Monster!" Omega shouted Karl and Alpha turned to see a giant Exeggutor standing over them. The Pokémon had a brown body that seemed to be made of wood and multiple round faces with different expressions on its head with green palms extending from its head. But that was where the similarities stopped.

The Exeggutor's neck was incredibly long making it taller than should've been possible. It also had a tail with a small green face on the end of its tail.

"What in Arceus's name is that thing?" Alpha cried, being the first to speak.

"What's a grass type doing in Dragon Mountain?" Melanie wondered.

Karl stepped forward. "Whatever it is it doesn't look friendly." Karl charged forward and jumped up into the air. He dug his claws into Exeggutor's neck. The giant Pokémon screeched and Karl was surrounded by blue energy before being thrown into the mountainside.

Alpha launched a miniature sun into the air that remained there. Fuego then opened his mouth and a giant stream of flames struck the Exeggutor. When the flames dispersed the Pokémon barely looked phased.

"Oh come on!" Fuego complained, then he moved backward and began to channel a purple aura around him.

Omega charged headfirst into the Exeggutor's legs. He was glowing entirely silver. But before he could strike the Exeggutor swung its tail. Omega didn't get too good of a look at it but he noticed it was glowing purple before it hit him and swept him off the side.

Luckily Melanie's psychic caught him before he could fall go far and returned Omega to the battlefield.

Karl enveloped himself in water and began darting around the Exeggutor. He occasionally struck the Pokémon with his claws and managed to avoid its attacks. Then it swung its head around flinging giant seeds everywhere. One hit Karl and launched him into the ground unconscious.

Alpha blasted more flames at Exeggutor but the Pokémon wouldn't yield. Instead, it began to charge a bright beam but because of Alpha's sunny day the beam instantly fired plowing into Melanie, Omega quickly grabbed her so she wasn't thrown off the platform.

"M-Melanie's down!" Omega informed Alpha and Fuego. "What are we going to do?"

"Fire!" Alpha shouted back, sending, even more, flames towards the freak of nature. Still, the Exeggutor lumbered forward "Fuego do something!" Alpha snapped.

"Here I come!" Fuego charged forward and his claws began to glow purple. They grew in size and the purple aura swirled forcefully around him. He struck the Exeggutor and jumped back.

The giant tree Pokémon nearly fell. It stood there for a moment. Then it roared and charged forward, its tail glowing purple.

"Oh come on!" Fuego yelled, just then a purple blast hit the Exeggutor from behind and it finally fell.

"Who just saved us? Was it Kassidy?" Alpha asked, looking at Fuego accusingly.

"Nope, it was me! Your old friend!" A voice replied as the originator of the voice came into view.

Omega gasped. "E-Ellie?"

Hey everyone! Thanks for reading today's chapter! Sorry it took me so long to get out, but hopefully it was worth the wait. Anyways I probably won't be able to get out a chapter next week and I'm sorry for that. Maybe I will though, it all depends on how much time I have. Have a nice day, bye!
