Covellite ruins
Holding the recovering Espurr in his arms Neil walked with Amala deep into the biggest ruins.
Neil rubbed the back of his cat's fur, feeling the remains of the injuries inflicted by Kasper, he hissed at the very memory.
Amala sudden stopped at a huge monolith structure.
"Neil what do you think of this one mural painting?" Amala asked seriously.
Neil took a look at the monolith and saw a painting, it was fairly obvious what it was.
"Mega Lucario and Mega Mawile but why is this here?" Neil said puzzled.
The painting had a sketch of a dog on it's hind legs with battle scars and a determined face, while the other sketch was that of humanoid being with two giant mouths sticking out of it's head, these were quite powerful megas in their own right.
"Am puzzled by it as well, anyway am sure team delta had other plans apart from keeping the fossils, maybe something to do with this." Amala stated
"Possibly" Neil said, still thinking about Kasper's true motives.

The next day
Neil packed up and was about to head to the next town.
"Neil be careful out there" Amala gave a worried expression.
Neil looked at her and gave a small smile.
"I'll be fine Amala even though I suffered a huge loss, am sure my Pokemon and I have grown from that" Neil said full of energy.
"Haaaaa..., Am still worried a bit, just make sure you keep in touch okay?" Amala asked.
"Sure thing." Neil said as he left the ruins.

Narcissus town
The path to the town was surprisingly quiet, so Neil got there in no time.
The town had modern looking buildings and flats, what stood out was the numerous flowers all over the place. Neil didn't hate vegetation but he wasn't a big fan of pollen everywhere.
'Achoo!' a sneeze escaped from him as he looked around.
The town was quite empty, looking like a ghost town even.
"Hey!!!" Anyone home!" A noisy familiar voice spoke up.
"Oh shit!" Neil shouted as he remembered who the voice belonged to.
His proclaimed rival and sworn enemy Cybil!

Cybil turned around to see what was going on.
"Neil!!!!!!!!!!!!!" She shouted out of anger.
Neil wanted to turn around and run away but he was too late.
"Guwah!" He shouted as if someone had tackled him from behind which did happen.
Cybil tackled him to the ground. And mounted him.
"Return the people of this town right now!" Cybil shouted.
"The hell are you going on about now?!" Neil responded with another shout.
"You used your mad science to turn everyone invisible or something!" Cybil ramble on.
Pushing her off him Neil's face turned red as he facepalmed.
"You seriously think I did that!" Neil shouted
"It's either that or everyone is having a party somewhere" Cybil said.
Neil stood up from the ground and dusted himself off.
"Let's go searching then" Neil came to the latter conclusion.
"Why should i?!" Cybil shouted once again
"Just do it!" Neil counters and the blonde girl could only pout in objection.
Walking around town Cybil stood a long distance away from Neil fearing what he could do with his so called science.

"So this is the gym huh? Looks like something out of a fairy tale" Neil observed a pink building with weird patterns around it.
"Hah! This gym would be a piece of cake for me, you know why?" Cybil said pumping her chest up.
"I didn't ask..." Neil was interrupted
"Because I have mega evolution now! Come out sceptile" Cybil said happily.
Cybil released the grass lizard with a tree for a tail out, she revealed a mega ring on her right hand and touched the key stone on it.
Sceptile began to glow green and suddenly transformed into mega sceptile, a grass and dragon type. Getting more spikes and a longer tree for a tail.
"You see this! This is true mega evolution, nobody but team delta need your stupid mega device" Cybil stated.
Neil looked impressed a bit.
"Cool, but I hope that wasn't your trump card against this gym cause it's a fairy gym" Neil said.
"A fairy gym! Why do you say that" Cybil asked scared.
Neil pointed to a sign saying "Narcissus gym home to the petit fairy Lexi" .
"Uwahhhhhhh" Cybil's scream was blocked out by a much larger one coming from South of the town
"Let's go!" Neil said as he dragged the depressed Cybil with him.

The two trainers saw people gathering around a large building surrounded by flowers, inside were photographers taking pictures of two Girls.
One of the girls had long black hair kept in a ponytail, her dress was a pure white cloak and a blue dress.
The other however was in a blue swimsuit her rough looking brown haired added more to her swimmer like appearance.
"Oh geez Lexi, I almost had you that time! Beauty contests sure are your specialty" the swimmer addressed the other girl.
"Well you had me on the ropes Corrin, if not for Florges's ability I wouldn't have lost, just keep trying next time for sure" Lexi gave a cute smile her pale skin made it look like she was glowing.
"Thanks Lexi! Next time I'll win for sure, that's why we're rivals and best friends!" Corrin gave her friend a big hug and got one in return as well.

'Cough' Neil butted into the wholesome situation with a cough.
He and Cybil were standing in front of the girls staring from the start.
The paparazzi left and Lexi addressed Neil.
"It looks you aren't one of our fans, so you must be challengers for me" Lexi stated.
"For a gym leader, you must like contests a lot" Cybil asked while Neil was taking a look around the contest hall.
"Yah gym leaders are allowed to have hobbies you know" Lexi answered a bit put off by Cybil's attitude.
Espurr popped out of it's pokeball and flew around using psychic.
Corrin looked at the cat with eyes of surprise, "You interested in contest Kitty?" She asked.
Espurr smiled and danced around.
(Master this looks fun, can we?) Espurr told her owner telepathically.
"Oi Lexi, are contests fun?" Neil asked on behalf of Espurr.
"Interested as well I see, it's tons of fun" she said happily.
"Then it's decided Cybil go do the gym challenge, I'll do mine after Espurr does a contest" Neil decided.
"Don't Tell me what to do!" Cybil shouted.
The two glared at each other until.
"Um are you two together(dating)?" Corrin asked nervously.
"I'd rather lick a Gastly!" Neil shouted
"Well I'd rather lick a Grimer!! It's much worse" Cybil shouted as well.
"That's a relief, um scientist guy what's your name, mine is Corrin!"
Corrin said happily.
"My name's Neil, nice to meet you" Neil said with a small smile.
Corrin blushed and took the hand of her companion.
"Well am sure we'll meet again, come on Lexi let's go get ready for your battle" Corrin said as she pulled on Lexi and the two left the building in a rush.
"Weird girl" Cybil cursed as she walked out as well.
"Okay Espurr let's go get ready for your contest" Neil said to his partner.
(Yay!) The cute purple cat smiled.
Meanwhile outside the building
"Seriously you've fallen again?!" Lexi shouted at her friend.
"It's different this time! Neil isn't just hot, his also willing to try new things like contests, his the full package!" Corrin said smiling while blushing heavily
"let's just go to the gym!" Lexi grabbed her friend and dragged her away.
"He will be mine!!!!" Corrin shouted as she was dragged away.
Away from them Cybil had heard everything and was also blushing heavily.
"What the hell does that girl see in the mad scientist?!" She said embarrassed.

Contest Hall
Neil had registered himself and Espurr for the beauty contest, the room was packed up by the audience.
The stage for performances was quite large as well. The judge a hefty looking man with a mustache was sitting in front of the stage ready to do his job.
Neil had to compete against 3 other trainers, a cool trainer named Jan with his Flareon (a fire type cat like creature), a florist lady Isabella and her Bulbasaur (onion dinosaur) and youngster Timmy with a patrat.

"Good evening everyone! Am your judge for today's beauty contest Hanji! Let's begin! Contestant 1 start!" Hanji the judge shouted and the crowd went wild.
Jan was up first and his Flareon started with a flame wheel, it spun around while covered in flames, it then used flamethrower and beautifully it spiralled up as well making a fire tornado. The judge seemed happy with the performance.
Contestant 2 was Timmy but mostly seeing a rat run around biting things wasn't beautiful at all and Hanji looked displeased.
Contestant 3 was Isabella and Bulbasaur. She started strong with a powerful petal dance however close to the end it confused the poor Pokemon making it mess up, despite that the judge still liked the performance.
Finally it was Neil's turn.

(Master am nervous, what If I can't win) Espurr said worried.
"Espurr this is just for fun, I did this so you can have fun, it's not about winning" Neil said as he came down to Espurr's level.
"I want you, to go out there and show your true feelings" Neil said softly
Espurr smiled and ran off.
"Contestant 4 let's do this!" Hanji
Neil came up to the stage with Espurr.
"Espurr thunderbolt! Let's go" Neil commanded.
Espurr released a large amount of electricity exciting the crowd.
"Now mold it with psychic and show them your story!" Neil shouted.
Espurr's ears lifted up revealing two purple eyes on them, this strengthened it's psychic ability as it started molding the lightning into shapes.
Espurr's first lightning drawing was about a young cat running from grunts, it was caught and kept in a cage for months, later it was given to a man like silhouette, the man treated the cat like it has never been before and they lived happily together.
This brought the judge and most of the audience to tears, Neil knowing the full story also felt sad, he wished he could have made Espurr even happier,. Unknown to him Espurr loved him dearly from the bottom of her heart

"Time to announce the winner of the beauty contest!" Hanji said and the crowd went loud again.
An electronic board appeared behind him.
Numbers and letters flashed on the board until
"1st- Neil and Espurr 198
2nd- Jan and Flareon 175
3rd- Isabella and Bulbasaur 150
4th- Timmy and Patrat 70

The crowd cheered. Timmy threw his pokeball on the ground, Isabella put a hand on her cheek and smiled, Jan laughed and Neil stood amazed.
"We actually won! Espurr we won!" Neil shouted as he hugged his cat which was currently speechless.
Neil and Espurr went up to the stage.
Hanji gave the professor a red and white ribbon with a golden pokeball on it. He also handed him a small white ribbon for Espurr. Neil bent down and placed it on the cat's purple fur.
(Master are you proud of me? Even though am not a great battler?) Espurr said sadly.
"I've always been proud of you, don't worry about your strength, we'll get stronger together" Neil said with a big smile.
Espurr's eyes became bigger and it wailed.
"Essssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Espurr's body began to glow light blue and it's ears opened up again.
Neil looked at the transformation his partner was going through.
"Evolution?" Neil said surprised.

Espurr's evolving?! Which form will she take, tune in next time.
