Part 5. Amirillo Del Bosque Verde
The image of the boy that appeared in my dreams flickered across my mind. He was strong, brave. Definitely more composed and resilient then I was.
Raising what looked to be a large fishing rod. He jettisons a small yellow mouse creature that raced across his extended pole.
The creature violently released a powerful jolt of electricity towards the large fiery bird above him. Chasing him vigorously away and soon after. The massive bird graciously flew east towards the large mountain peak disappearing into the night.
Afterward, all I could tell from my minds eye was nothing but blackness.
Was it a dream?...
Am I dead?
My eyes opened with exhaustion towards the sunlit sky. Attempting to arise from the ground. My abdomen and my arms were abhorrently sore.
I couldn't even move my legs, they felt like jello. Like I was paralyzed from the waste down. Narrowly a sharp pain filled the back of my neck as I attempted to observe my surroundings. It felt like I had rested upon this ground for years.
I was covered in what looked like a tan-moccasin sleeping bag, and was wearing my pink Jigglypuff pajamas mother left in my bag before I left on my adventure.
The feeling in my legs commenced to return and I was finally able to stand. However a dreadful thought struck my being.
That boy saw me naked didn't he!?
No, it couldn't be, maybe I changed but I just couldn't remember? But the thought, again kept compounding into my head.
That pervert! Did that boy in the straw-hat just change my clothes while I was asleep?
Looking all around me I saw the same lake that Bulbasaur and I found the night before the ominous fiery bird appeared. I had not left this very spot before, which means, this certainly wasn't a dream.
A few feet ahead of me, across the shore of that beautiful lake. Was the same boy with the straw-hat. Resting along a large cliff-side. His rod already cast upon the water.
He seemed to have other Pokémon along with him. One looked to be a mouse, a walking ostrich like creature with two heads and a Rattata.
The boy noticed I had woken up, and gestured with a wave. Beckoning me to come near. The air was peaceful and the sound of crashing waves. Was a rather soothing sound, like it was healing my aching wounds.
I however wasn't too happy about the fact that he changed my clothes while I was unconscious.
My cheeks blushed uncontrollably, thinking about all the the possible dirty scenarios in which this boy could have violated me.
What an absolute creep!
I marched over to him with protest in my heart. He was only seven-feet from walking distance and I was ready to wind up a punch to this disgusting stranger's face.
The boy reeled in his floater, and from what I could see, the floater was a Poké Ball with a hook attached to some bait.
Is he trying to catch Magikarp in this pond?
Magikarp are a delicacy in Kanto. Fish are actually sold for an amazing amount. About five-hundred Poké Dollars.
They are also a great sushi dish. It certainly makes sense for a trainer to be catching one as a basic team member too.
The young boy turned over to me and looked into my eyes. Smiling with a foolish grin.
"Hey there Leaf!" He shouted.
I halted in my tracks after he called out to me. My face turned bright red from his squeaky call.
What kind of stranger like him knows my real name?!
"How do you know who I am?" I responded.
The earnest boy pulled out my Trainer card from my pocket. And waived it around teasingly.
"I saw your name on the card."
"Stay out of my bag please," I asked with distaste.
"Uh-um-sorry." Said the straw-hat kid awkwardly placing the card back into the side pocket of my belongings he kept.
"I wanted to wait until late-noon to make sure you got your stuff. So I kept it with me just in case anybody was about to take it. I'm sorry about poking around your bag."
I was rather taken aback with his nosy behavior and to top it off. His voice crack sounded a little too annoying for a 'chivalrous hero saving the damsel' from my perspective.
"What is your name, Trainer?" I inquired.
"My name is Amirillo Del Bosque Verde," he said.
"You're what-and what now?"
"Amirillo, or you could call me Yellow," he said shyly.
The boy seemed innocent enough, he had a small frame standing about five-feet two inches, what was strange about his features was his feminine qualities. He certainly looked cute and was quite skinny. With long blonde hair, in a ponytail.
Large brown almond eyes and freckles that dotted across his face. He looked like a rice farmer from Pallet Town. They usually wore straw-hats under the heat of the weather.
He also wore a yellow weaved vest and a dark-long sleeved shirt. With brown-extended work boots.
Not your typical outfit for a Trainer class.
"What happened last night?" I inquired.
"I reckon you were attacked by a giant fiery Pokémon recently. He looked like a legendary bird, but my little Pika's electric attacks were effective against it. So she saved you from that massive behemoth." Said Yellow.
I turned to regard my small little hero that saved me from the attack recently and smiled. I couldn't help but gush over her cute little pink cheek sacs and her zigzagged tail pattern.
"What is that Pokémon," I inquired.
"This-here is what they call a Pikachu, electricity can be stored in their cheek pouches, and they are considered pests in Pewter City. She's a cutie isn't she?" He asked.
"Of course, can I touch her?"
The boy reached across and slapped my hand away. Shaking his head with warning.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you. Electricity discharged from this Pokémon is dangerous if you're not careful."
"Sorry." I frowned.
Yellow placed his fishing pole behind his back. Standing up to walk down across the cliff slope,
I wondered if he was going somewhere important. Pikachu and the rest of his Pokémon followed alongside him from behind.
"Are you heading to Viridian City?" He inquired.
"Yes, I'm trying to find my friends. Red and Blue. Have you witnessed them crossing through route one?" I asked.
"Who is Red?"
"Never mind," I said softly.
"I'm heading in that direction, if you want to come with me to find them you can, but one thing I think you are going to need Miss. Is some gloves, if you want to handle elemental Pokémon like mine it would probably be better for you in the long run."
Sure, but I'll need to get dressed," I said with reluctance.
The boy nodded with agreement
"Perfect, well while we find this Red character, we'll need to obtain these gloves at the Poké Shop and possibly other items about a mile and a-half away. We're not too far," he confirmed.
While I walked toward my camp, I couldn't help but wonder. As I analyzed Bulbasaur and Spearows health inside their respective Poké Ball's. What happened to my Pokémon during that incident? And to my astonishment.
They are fully healed?
I haven't even made it to a Pokémon Center yet.
I turned to face the brazened young boy I just encountered in this forest.
Who is he?
He certainly seems to be very knowledgeable about Pokémon. And they seem to treat him with a profound respect.
Maybe this loss I experienced last night was a lesson. I had relied too much on my Pokémon's strength that I never truly respected their boundaries. He seems to understand the care and the need Pokémon have over their Trainers.
And just maybe, he might be able to direct me to my friends. I need to reunite with them hopefully at Pewter soon.
Otherwise, I'll keep falling behind them. I'll ask Yellow on how to gain the respect of Pokémon so that I can keep doing my very best as a Pokémon Trainer.
