Part 22. Keeping Our End of the Bargain

While I and Virginia continued to find a way out of the Brig. Solress and Hanz floated across the soft minerals of the Moon. Their suits pressurized along their bodies as the white textured layers stiffened their functional movements outside of critical space conditions. While oxygen was being pumped into their black rectangular visor helmets. They adjusted their physical energy carefully as they navigated through the rough gooey terrain of our massive satellite above Earth.

Together they searched long and hard along the lunar surface. Looking for something precious along the delicate ground below them as each step they took released the soil up in the air toward the infinite vacuum of space.

"Is it here?" Asked the tall thin scientist through his radio communicator inside the visor.

The man that was at the same height level gestured toward a massive cave entrance carved into a grey massive mountain region. They were not far from their current position of the base.

"Right through those caverns. You will find a multitude of Moon Stone material." Said Hanz.

Solress grinned a cunning smile under his visor. One that had just won the prize of a thousand rich men. This was his chance to win the hearts of his peers and the reputation of those around him.

The wicked man cackled and laughed with joy. He had finally reached his goal.

"Now about our agreement, has Team Rocket provided the Pokémon in question?" Hanz inquired.

"Keke! Hahahahahahahahahaha!! I've finally attained much more than that of the Gods! You can expect the Pokémon will be transported to Ecruteak within three days time. This of course will require more material." Said Solress through the static radio of his spacesuit.

"How much more material do you need?" Asked Hanz with a curious jerk of his helmet.

"I'll need a Particle Reactor to initiate the portal sequence. We already have the container to place all the material from within for Team Rocket's benefit."

"A Particle Reactor? But where pray tell would the LOVE organization find such an item? Even if we have the material there is only so much that was stolen from the R and D department of the Pokémon International Government. We don't know if such a material exists—

"Silence!" Solress threatened the Apostle with the flick of his Poké Ball toward the man's throat. Poking him menacingly with the button node of his device.

"You shut your mouth. Team Rocket does not deal kindly to people who do not keep their end of the bargain. What I hold in my hand is a Pokémon that can breathe inside this very vacuum around you. If you want to keep your head provide for the Boss the materials he needs for me to develop this machine. Or suffer the consequences of Team Rocket to swiftly dismantle your precious Joker."

Hanz's breathing within his mask stuttered to a halt as the man paused nervously. Intently eyeing him with devious silver eyes. While Solress continued with his heckled and ill mannered retort toward him.

"An organization of such reputation that had been involved in a long drawn out War should have material that I require. Don't tell me these espionage games you and Ensign play are all just for show? Also, do not tell me that you do not have the resources after having experimented on Pokémon for decades? As I'm sure your leader would feel the same way at being able to attain that same power as I and the Boss require?"

"You don't threaten me Solress. Ensign's forces are growing stronger every day and sooner or later. Your precious organizations leader will be bowing to Joker's every whim. If there is one thing we can all agree on it's being able to work together for the purist of ideals. Subjugation and power. If you want your precious materials. You can put that Poké Ball down and cooperate to make it happen."

"Keke!" Cackled the scientist as he relents placing the circular capsule back into his convenient side pocket.

"You are wise to work together with the Boss. He would be most pleased to know that I would provide him the technology to not only accelerate the evolution of Pokémon. But provide the means for my pet project to occur. Hanz you were able to make it happen, don't disappoint me. However, I would expect resistance from those we just captured."

"You mean Black Clover? She's of little concern to me." Affirmed Hanz.

"I wouldn't be so sure. We had captured two more troublesome individuals aboard our ship and yet they are unaccounted for. Ones that I traveled alongside with on Route three towards Mount Moon. They were able to make it this far but if they release the Black Clover who is your former partner. You can expect chaos."

The man looked at Solress with skepticism. He sure wasn't telling him all that he needed to hear. All he knew was that I was the threat and would do everything in his power to rid me forever.

"What threat would two basic trainers like them be against someone like me?" He asked.

"You don't know these two, they are in every way more upstart then most Pokémon Trainers in the Kanto region. Their thirst for knowledge and yearning about Pokémon even drove my curiosity. I've witnessed the way they communicate to each other. The bonds that they have with Pokémon is continually making them stronger in their abilities."

"You saying a bunch of young kids are going to take me down?" Chuckled the man with blonde hair; his silver eyes seeping through the black visor of his helmet.

"Like I said, don't underestimate them." Furrowed the young scientist.

"They have a device which encourages their knowledge in the field of Pokémon exploration. A device which could interfere with our endeavors." Smirked the tall man with the red jagged hair toward his forehead.

The man paused for a moment. Not considering the force of nature a scientist like that was similar to Solress in all aspects of study.

"Professor Oak?" Scrutinized Hanz in deep thought.

The young scientist nodded through his visor as they continued on through the caves entrance.

"This device feeds their insatiable desire to learn. Which makes them potentially more elite of a Pokémon Trainer than the common man that seeks after those abilities as they progress naturally."

"So your enemy Professor Oak is quenching their appetite and because of this, you think the Pokédex is granting them power?"

Nodding once again as the scientist uses the round cat like lights atop his visor helmet. He used a switch that turned on the headlamps. Giving him every possible option to see from within the caves lack of light from outside his tinted visor.

"Professor Oak saw the potential that all Trainer's could have by utilizing the knowledge of the Pokédex. Vast and unimaginable knowledge in the form of a computer to fit in your pocket. A world where knowledge could be free and open source."

"You seek something greater than the common man?" Inquired Hanz.

"Precisely." Answered Solress affirmatively.

"Professor Oak is too shortsighted to understand the vast scientific potential of Pokémon and technological breakthroughs as a whole. We don't need free energy. We need so much more. We... need to explore worlds beyond worlds and to do that we need unlimited resources and that includes People and Pokémon material."

Hanz quirked his head. Curiously analyzing and internalizing his words. Knowing the goals he sought after would hinder me as a Pokémon Trainer and my ability to seek power. It was easier for Hanz to note the similarities that Solress sought that would encourage their egotistical attempts for world domination.

Perhaps from what seemed to Hanz's observation. They were not so different in their goals. After all, Ensign wanted to govern the affairs of people and Pokémon alike and the way to accomplish that was to work with your enemy and their asinine attempts at hegemonic power.

"Seems we have similar goals in mind." Affirmed Hanz.

As the two wicked men sputtered across the space dusted cavern. They turned toward a sharp corner of the hallway. Out from the end of this brightly lit hallway. It revealed a brilliant white light that enveloped the room. A room that spiraled up towards the mountainous rocky ceiling. And toward the middle of this room was a massive slab that pointed up towards the ceiling of what appeared to be immaculate material.

Solress sneered towards his prize with covetous eyes. Smirking with the widest smile, you could drive a car along the curve of his wicked ghastly dissemination. He knew right from the start that if Hanz would kidnap me and take me hostage for the sake of Ensign Drake's power. It was a means of distraction in order to obtain what Solress desired more. The intrinsic and mystical power of the evolution stones known as Moon Stone.

"You strike a good bargain Kaiser. We'll expect the Pokémon to be expedited to you within less time."
