Part 14. Solress and The Moon Stone

Pacing his dark pointed heels on the hard marble floor of the museum. Solress towered passed the fossilized displays with a sly grin. We all followed him into the main Lobby. As he eyed us three with keen interest. He seemed to have questions in mind that would be able to jog our brains.

"Are you three seeking answers regarding the power of stones?"

We both shook our heads in unison.

"Nope we just wanted to learn about how a Pokémon is resurrected—

"It is done by stones that's for sure." He interjected.

"What stone in particular helps the Pokémon from the prehistoric era remain alive?" I asked.

"They call it an Old Amber stone, it's a stone that has preserved the DNA of other species of insects. It allowed us scientists to be able to determine and also extract Pokémon DNA." Said Solress gesturing to a painting lined along the left side of the main lobby. Solress dramatically pointed us to a massive mural depicting the process of how Old Amber is created.

Upon further examination, the red goop along the tree bark was called sap. It released bio fluid of nutrients from cells inside of the plant. What held my peculiarity was how the substance had lasted over the decades?

How long had it remained along the tree bark?

The insects and other biological creatures encased within held all the properties of fresh tissue. Preserved from within the sap were materials needed to help resuscitate a Pokémon to life.

Incredible! I regarded with atypical curiosity.

"As you can see from the mural, the DNA of all living creatures and Pokémon are sustained from within the Old Amber rock. All left behind by the black pine seventy million years ago—

"Seventy million years?!" I responded with wide eyed apprehension.

"Precisely, since we found the value of the tissue we were able to
Determine how and what Pokémon can be regenerated."

Solress pointed his hand to some skeletal remains of a flying Pokémon that had lived during that occasion. The skull had a two horned protrusion on each side of the ear. Was bipedal in appearance and it seemed to have a massive wingspan that spread about seven feet in length.

The creature was big to be sure. It's remains shown that it stood to be at least five-feet, eleven inches. Weighing at a scale of more than one hundred and forty pounds.

"What do they call this Pokémon?" I asked.

"They call him Aerodactyl. The carnivorous flying beast that dominated the skies was the most mystic and cryptic being we had ever unearthed—

"So I reckon we never made any headway in bringing in this species to life?" Explored Yellow.

Solress raised his eyebrows from this surprising question.

"Not quite, we use an machine called the EM Resurrector. It uses a cylindrical tube that morphs the tissue to the provided specifications. Using pulsed electrical signals we are able to speed up the process of resurrection."

"Does it harm the Pokémon?" Questioned Yellow.

"The process of electrical pulse rejuvenation to Pokémon is quite harmless." Smiled Solress.

No kidding. So Solress created the technology using the Old Amber to revive Aerodactyl's main biology?

This man certainly knew a lot about how Pokémon are formed using the elemental properties of stones.

"So as you can see, since we had discovered the process on how to redirect certain biological characteristics of Areodactyl Pokémon. Other stones provide even more baffling proclivities."

"Such as?" I quirked.

The tall weird gentlemen signaled ferociously toward the two cases between the Aerodactyl draped along ceiling. Each having their own unique forms.

For the first form; I could identify a bipedal plate like Pokémon with two scythe like arms and an oval disk shaped skull.

The other form had a round dome like shell with lines that counter spun toward the center. The integral structure between those two fossilized Pokémon were absolutely fascinating to observe; even from a distance.

"The Pokémon that are the foundation of our greatest work is the two basic fossils you see before you."

Red and Yellow stepped toward the plate like being. While I followed closely to observe the second row to distinguish the gigantic horned like shell in its glass casing.

"They are known throughout the region of Kanto's scientific communities as Kabutops and Omastar. These Pokémon were our bread and butter when it came to our resurrection experiment."

"How did you do it without the Old Amber?" I asked eagerly.

"Very simple answer to that question young lady, they don't need Old Amber. The Pokémon are only tens of thousands of years old they were our recent extinction species we've ever discovered. The shells of these two were merely preserved specimens of the revival process. Because within their shells; they provided living tissue."

Our mouths gasped from this riposte.

How astonishing!

Science was able to provincially bring deceased Pokémon back from the dead? Yet, here is the man that clearly utilized the scientific method to bring back extraordinary results from his experiment and invention.

"I'm just as amazed at how a man like yourself was able to revive these Pokémon so well to their former glory? It seems that because of the love of our Pokémon; we are able to grant them another chance at life." I smiled with wonderment.

"Pokémon living in extinction with the EM machine we feel; may be a thing of the past. That's why I have such a percipient interest in evolution stones." He nodded with pride.

"Evolution stones?" Reciprocated Yellow.

The scientist nodded pragmatically.

"Precisely, please follow me up the stairs to the second floor." Edged Solress with his narrow palms.

We followed our new guide carefully up the wooden staircase. Perambulating our steps up the rails as each of us quietly countered glances with each other with skeptical looks.

"I get a weird vibe from this guy." I said.

How do yeah figurr'?" Responded Yellow.

"He has this weird tick about him?"

Yellow sniggered from my offbeat Inspection of the eccentric.

"I'm sure he's just very passionate about his work." Whispered Yellow.

What do you think of the guy Red?" I muffled.

"........"

As we crossed over the final step. We advanced toward the entrance of the final floor of the museum. The theme had changed and the tone of the subject changed with it.

How riveting, science is really amazing! I exclaimed in thought.

I did everything I could to take it all in. The murals of planets and other binary stars clustered together in the galaxy. Black holes, and nebula dust clouds were painted graciously on the ceiling above us and towards the center.

A massive model replica of a space shuttle. Entangled on top of a marble display case. The spacecraft had a four-foot wingspan. And a massive tail-fin. The port bow smoothed near the end of the cab for aerodynamic flight.

Oh my god!

"Red-Red!" I shoved with bothersome glee. My friend obviously wasn't too pleased with my outbursting spontaneity.

"A space shuttle!" I pointed gingerly with a wide glittering smile.

"......."

After seeing the stars with Yellow in Viridian Forest and learning more about space during my early years of childhood. It always fascinated me for the longest time. I've always wanted to learn about Space. Because it got me excited about the adventure, and the yearning question of the unknown.

Inching closer toward the massive model. I noticed a golden plaque that had the insignia on the outside.

The Space Shuttle Columbia.

My eyes glittered with delight as I nerded alongside my friends. I couldn't help but feel how parallel science was when it came to the mysteries of Pokémon and even Pokémon training. It felt familiar in a lot of ways.

"This here is the Astronomical exhibit of the Pewter Museum of Science. I've been studying the Stars for a greater portion of my life. I've always wondered, if there was life on other worlds? My goal, along with the study of our world and it's minerals is to try and link the connection to space."

"Space is the most quintessential ingredient to the key mystery of evolution stones. Their mythical power is what grants some species of Pokémon to evolve quickly to their final form." He gestured emphatically.

Very true, there is still very much that we don't understand about evolution stones. One key question scientists don't seem to understand is how do these stones seem to mesh with certain specimens?

Pokémon in our world can evolve by stages very quickly. For example, unlike many other mammalian creatures in this world. Pokémon can accelerate their evolutionary stages as soon as their skills and growth are in sync with the training.

"The most interesting thing about evolution stones is that they mesh with other creatures of different elemental types. The most common ones we know of are, grass, water, fire, thunder and, moon." Said Solress.

"Moon S-stone—

"The very one!" Vociferated Solress with ecstasy.

"What makes the Moon Stone so special?" I queried.

The tall man pressed his glasses with a simper. Arrogantly tugging out a picture from his lab coat as he hangs the photo of the object swiftly from his hands. Shoving the picture belligerently close as he could to my round puffy face.

"Do you see it?" He blustered with haughtiness.

I did my best to analyze the picture more thoroughly. Gazing into the lit film; I noticed the white mineral known as Moon Stone the very mineral that provided evolution. Surprisingly resided on the Moon that provides tides to our world.

No way. I thought as my eyes shimmered spaciously.

"Ya'll can't be joking!?" Gawked Yellow.

"......." Analyzed Red.

"The Moon Stone that resides in Mount Moon. Came from...."

The tall nerdy scientist paused. He knew this revelation would shock us to the core.

"Aliens!" He blurted without impunity.

Eh?
