Part 105. A Surprising Arrival

My friend Yellow had finished exiting Route Sixteen to try and make his way towards Cycling Road. The bike he rode upon was practical to make it across a massive bridge that goes from Route Sixteen ending near Route Eighteen of Fuschia Village, despite the trek up the bridge. It was easier to trek West toward the town of Fuschia than to take the Saffron City detour of Route Seven to Route Thirteen, which was more of an arduous trek to the location than before.

Pikachu rested inside Yellow's brown pack pouch. With the fishing pole exposed in the central portion of the baggy, he could use ranged Pokémon at their ready if the need ever arrived that Trainers would cross his path, despite the Que Ball biker gang's presence on this bridge. He took them all on quickly and gained experience from their rather tricky tactics. Before taking on the biker gang he also obtained the Hidden Machine Zero-Two move Fly in the cabin of Route Sixteen and now has a tool that can not only help his team in combat if needed, but to navigate the entire region discovered.

There was also another item on his person, a Poké Doll in the form of a Clefairy that seemed animated and floating near him on the right next to his Bicycle. The doll turned and looked at him curiously and soon after looked ahead. The being that reanimated the doll didn't quite understand why he was so quiet, so he decided to break the silence.

"Are you upset?" Inquired Mewtwo, who seemed to be the one inhabiting the doll from a great distance of his Psychic capabilities.

"I'm fine."

"Are you not used to being on your own?"

"Nah, the opposite in fact."

"Why do you say that?" He asked as the floating doll tilted with uniform curiosity.

"Because I've always been alone, well, not necessarily alone alone, but alone when there were no other humans around."

"What about your parents, didn't you have family?"

Yellow continued pedaling after he asked that question; it got tranquil. Still, he never considered how best to respond without sounding like a recluse to the most intelligent Pokémon beside him.

"I honestly never really knew who my parents were, nor have I ever met them. Don't know exactly what happened but, not all was completely bad and I wasn't ever alone. I made a lot of Pokémon friends that raised me in the Viridian Forest. Sure I am not as learned as the other Trainers but I can still be like other humans."

"Was Leaf your first human friend?"

"You ask a lot of questions for being a clone."

"Well, I have my reasons."

"I am sure you do, you are the first out of many Pokémon that I know that has an agenda. Why don't you tell me what the plan really is?"

The doll floated in front and tried to hold Yellow by halting his bike in the middle of the paved bridge.

"We already have an agenda, get into the Safari Zone, destroy the Ancestor Machine and warn my true parent—"

"What happens after that?"

Mewtwo paused momentarily and then allowed Yellow to continue pedaling down the road; he decided it was best to be quiet around him in retaliation to his form of questioning.

"Guess we can never really trust each other eh Mewtwo?" Furrowed Yellow with angst.

"I can never trust anyone."

"I hear yeah."

The sun was about to set on the horizon of the Western sea of Kanto, and a large flock of Pidgey was flying towards this beautiful horizon as the bridge moved along with the vehicle's motion. Yellow couldn't remember when the sun was this beautiful, not since living in the mysterious Viridian Forest as the air was clear, and the sky became dark on the East side, slipping further down as if existence was but a fleeting memory.

"I've never met anyone until I met Leaf, she seemed to be in trouble, and I couldn't allow anyone to come to harm. I never really fit in with humans, so it was much easier for me to talk to Pokémon.

"I-I understand." Nodded Mewtwo with emotional hesitancy in his booming voice.

"If I hadn't met her, I don't know if I would've trusted humans either. Despite me being a human myself, I've always wanted to understand them and that's why I followed her from Pallet Town to Route One, before she encountered the powerful Ho-Oh."

"She always seemed happy and cheerful and showed a love toward her Pokémon that I admired a great deal. Most humans that I've met haven't showed the same back toward others."

"Such as?"

"When she obtained Bulbasaur from the Professor; she let him out his Poké Ball to follow her and he admired about how endearing that was to him. When she got him for the first time, she was always mindful and conscious of the one she called her own. That's not easy for normal adult humans to do, most of my kind that I've encountered cared more about urbanization and making a better more convenient world for themselves while using Pokémon to ensure it happens. Towns, cities, hell, even this bridge is a great example about what not to do when utilizing Pokémon to achieve ingenuity. You forget about the environment of the Pokémon around you and their emotional wellbeing—"

"Because you run the risk of having them lose their home." Finished Mewtwo after carefully listening to what Yellow had to say.

The young boy nodded at the doll and returned to face the trek ahead on the Cycling Road. Yellow didn't know it yet, but it seemed that Mewtwo and him could relate on a more reflective level regarding the relationship between humans and Pokémon. Humanity had always had a checkered past regarding the treatment of such creatures, but the one thing Mewtwo was sure of. The conflict is still the same concerning Pokémon as well. Humans were at the top of the food chain, so they have always been deemed a threat, but there were times when humans had to fight back against them for their survival; it was a vicious cycle no matter how many times he tried to look after the relationship between them logically.

"I understand now why humans have always struggled for supremacy in this land."

"That is?"

"Life, life seems to be the reason for why there is so much conflict and strife. The evolution of a species that tends to inhabit always seems to be the one in conflict with its own environment."

"Like the time they created you?"

"As a weapon yes."

"Humans will do anything to try and get their hands on one because they are scared of being inflicted by another brewing within all intelligent species." Continued Mewtwo with broad introspection.

"Including Pokémon," responded Yellow succinctly.

"Yes," nodded the Clefairy doll.

"With conflict occurring therein becomes balance. I sense that your friend Leaf may have to fight an even more imminent power than I originally surmised."

"No kiddin', Violet showed Leaf a very mortifying future in which Kanto will be destroyed by us. If we don't stop them before the end of this year. Pokémon will be the ones that will be on the top of the food chain this time around."

"Then we better make haste."

Just as soon as it got dark, there appeared to be a man on the bridge who was muscular. He seemed to be fishing with his legs folded near the ocean's edge in a rather peaceful and tranquil state of mind. Once Yellow could see him, he slowed his bike to crawl and carefully approached the man, readying his Poké Ball in case Yellow needed to retaliate against him.

"No need, I'm not going to hurt you." He responded after sensing him within meditation.

"And who are you," inquired Yellow with a slightly raised tone.

The man reeled in his catch of the Magikarp swiftly and leaped off the edge of the gated balcony. His brown hair swayed in the breeze along with his blackbelt sash. The man's pectorals were exposed, and he wore white baggy pants. He looked like a fighter, a martial artist, to be more precise.

"Bruno of the Elite Four, and you are?"

"Yellow, sir."

"You seem like a pretty spry kid, I know I didn't catch much as you approached on your bike, but didn't I overhear that you are trying to get to the Safari Zone?"

Well, we are, but what's in it for you?"

"Everything, I am trying to stake out Team Rocket's latest secret hideout. A man was taken into that thick jungle and according to some witnesses; he is known as the Game Warden of the Safari Zone."

"A man was kidnapped there," raised Yellow with surprised shock.

"If you want to get there without being hit by multiple Pokémon and running into dangerous people, I got your back." He declared while tightening his black belt loop further along his back, smiling as he continued the pull against his thick, tough skin.

The man did a massive stretch and posed his massive forearms further to accentuate his strength and his might as proof to my little friend that he would be more than willing to accompany him.

"A powerful trainer like me would be invaluable, wouldn't you agree?"
