He was never like a majority of normal trainers that captured Pokemon and just cared for the on their travels. He was the one that actually cared .
I was born into a normal family somewhere in Sinnoh, though I was weakest. Never wanted to really become strong. My parents always hated me for it, but they thought that I would change my mind later on. But I didn't, by the time my sisters and brothers left to find their own homes and mates, I still stayed.
I wish to this day that I too should've left, but then again, I wouldn't have found him. On that one day I still remember, the day that human poachers found the cave where my parents and I lived. They killed off my parents... but a stray shot to me, hitting my right foreleg. I just wanted to die there, but the poachers didn't, saying that I wouldn't be good money.
So they just carried off my parent's carcasses, leaving me to bleed out to die. Probably fate, or a gift sent by Arceus, but that's how I met him. From what felt like days, I heard footsteps coming into the cave, and the gasp of a human, making me terrified.
I still remember the words he spoke, "Crap, ummm.... Hey there, don't worry, we'll help," he reassured me, with the sounds of zippers and a few barks of his Pokemon.
At the time, he only had a Luxio and Poochyena. The two Pokemon told me that I'll be fine, while he worked on patching up my leg. When he finished, I tried to stand up, but he gently pushed me back down, saying that it wasn't fully healed. But he turned me around enough for me to see him, he was skinny, nearly scrawny at the time. But he managed to lift me up, grunting all the way to the nearest Pokemon center. Never taking a break until we reached there. Staying by my side long enough until the doctors came and worked on my leg.
Thing was, he ran away from home, never told anyone of us why though. Normally staying away from Pokemon centers, worrying about his parents finding him. I was so curious at the runaway boy, when he asked me if I wanted to go with him, I happily obliged. For the next few days that I had to stay in a bed, checkups here and there. Him by my side making me like ever so more. When my leg healed fully, and I could walk on my own, he captured me, giving me a small bow when he let me out after he captured me.
As we went on the travel, he never had a max amount of party members. To leave to another region, he would have to give away some of us away to a specific person though. The times we went to a different region, he would trade most off, everyone but the former Poochyena, who evolved, me and a Kirlia he captured in the Unova region. Just to have the money to another region.
By the time we traveled to Kalos... it was really the last time I saw him (also where we met Julia) Captured by the organization of Flare, was the last time I saw him. They let me stay with him for the small time he had, telling me it'll be alright, which made me feel both safe and worried. When they returned me to the Pokeball, I waited for an eternity. By the time I was out again, Alicia found us... but without him.
Now under the ownership of Alicia (my trainer's older sister), we followed her and worked with her for the IPB. Training and going on missions is fun, but the Mightyena and Gardevoir went off one day. Never found them ever since... After that, there was really nothing else to do, but sit around the house and just wait till Alicia has a job to do. Julia wasn't around him as long as I had, only having a near six months with him, while I had stayed with him for five years.
Sigh
Ever since we found that Zorua, he reminded me very much of him. The Zorua never knew what my problem was, but always edging to know what it is. Even if I ignored him, or growled at him, he would be constantly be trying to figure out what it was... Just like my trainer, trying to figure out something if a teammate would to be hurt, or hiding something. Well the little Zorua succeeded, just a few days after he evolved, he dragged me with him to the forest behind the house, and into a small clearing where no trees covered the glorious sky. He gave me some of the Pokemon sweets that Alicia would normally have hidden away from us, and started to convince me to tell what's wrong.
When I told him of my trainer, he moved closer to me, and comforted me, as I cried in pain from remembering the thought of him again. It would have been nice, but Julia managed to find us out there, being gone from the house, even though it was around midnight. But really, it didn't matter, I had a new friend, and still do; we would always go out to the forest once in a while, just gazing up into the stars, just do nothing but look. Most of the times I cried, but he would always be there to comfort me when I did, never saying anything, but stroking my head softly... which always felt like how my trainer would do it. Instead of going from my forehead to my back of my head (like most do), it would be from the top of my head, to the small streak of fur that usually covers my left eye. Not too fast, not too slow, like a kind of rhythm you would get from a relaxed river.
When he left off to just live in the forest, for reasons beyond me, I just went back to my old self. Sulking around the house, sitting on the big windowsill where the window looks to the back of the house, and only to move when going somewhere with Alicia. I just wanted to stay in the house forever, but with Jacob able to be going on his own adventure, I decided to go along. Mentally knowing that he would like to have his adopted nephew safe.
But I still miss him to this day, and wonder on his return...
