May stood, still dazed from the unexpected wedding chaos, trying to gather her bearings as she looked around at their unexpected "guests." Ash, Misty, Brock, and Max were all standing in front of her, each dressed in formal attire, clearly just as confused as she was.
Misty raised an eyebrow. "Uh... who's the wedding for?"
May, still trying to process, was at a loss for words. "I... I don't know. Lily just... threw us into this," she muttered, glancing nervously at Drew, who seemed equally bewildered.
Before they could argue any further, Lily appeared in front of them, clipboard in hand. "Alright, now that you're all here, let’s begin!"
"Wait, hold up! What do you mean, 'begin'?" Drew blurted, his voice tinged with both confusion and annoyance.
But Lily was relentless. "We’ve already started, Uncle Drew. You two just need to hurry up and get married already. The guests are waiting!" she exclaimed, tapping her foot impatiently.
Brock, shaking his head, whispered to Ash. "I don’t know whether to laugh or call for help."
Ash shrugged, equally baffled. "This is... definitely not the wedding I was expecting."
May crossed her arms. "Lily, what are you even talking about?! We’re not—"
But Lily cut her off, grinning. "We’re doing this wedding thing, and it’s happening now. First, vows. Uncle Drew, you go first!"
Drew shot her a look of disbelief. "Wait, what?! I don't know what to say!"
Lily handed him the piece of paper she had written on, her smile widening. "I’ve already written your vows for you. You just need to read it out loud, and it’s perfectly romantic, I promise."
Drew sighed and reluctantly looked at the paper. His face went pale as he read it under his breath, then louder for everyone to hear.
"May, my love, from the moment we met, I knew my heart belonged to you. You are the light in my life, the reason I breathe, the melody to my song. I vow to love you, cherish you, and never let go, even in the face of... whatever this is." He stopped and looked up, his face flushed with embarrassment. "Uh... that's it."
May's eyes widened, and she turned to Lily, who was beaming with pride. "Lily, this is ridiculous! I can’t believe you made him do that!"
Lily just clapped her hands. "Great job, Uncle Drew! Now, May, your turn!"
May scowled but took the paper Lily handed her. She read aloud, her voice laced with disbelief, "Drew, my dearest love, I promise to stand by your side, through every challenge, every obstacle, every... thing that makes me want to scream." She shot Drew a sideways glance, and he gave her an apologetic look. "I will always support you, even when you're being... you."
The room went silent for a moment, everyone blinking in disbelief. Then, Lily clapped again. "Perfect! Now, for the final part! You two may kiss!"
"No," Drew said immediately, his voice flat. "I am not kissing her. This is insane."
May groaned. "No way in heck am I kissing you, Drew."
But Lily wasn’t having it. "You have to. If you two don't act like a normal couple, I swear I will make Aunt May pregnant, and you, Uncle Drew, will be the father. So pull. It. Together."
Drew’s face went white, and May looked like she’d seen a ghost. "What?! Lily, you can't—"
Lily crossed her arms. "If you two don’t kiss and show me some affection, I’ll make it happen. Now, kiss!"
They both stared at her in horror before turning to each other. With a deep, exaggerated sigh, Drew leaned forward. May turned her face to the side, trying to avoid it, but they both slowly leaned in.
The moment their lips met, they both recoiled almost instantly, making disgusted faces. Drew wiped his mouth dramatically. "I think I’ve been poisoned," he muttered, trying to hold back a gag.
May wiped her mouth too, making a similar face. "I think I need mouthwash. Now."
Lily was unimpressed. "That was so not convincing. Again, please."
Drew and May groaned in unison, but with a resigned sigh, Drew leaned in for another kiss. This time, he made sure it was quick and as awkward as possible.
When they pulled away, they both looked at Lily, who was fuming. "Well? Are you happy now?" Drew grumbled.
Lily huffed. "You two need to act like a couple. I mean, come on, you’re married now. What’s with all the gross faces?"
May folded her arms. "We’re not married, Lily. This is ridiculous."
Lily glared. "Well, you better start acting like it, or else I’ll—"
"Alright, alright!" Drew interrupted, hands up in surrender. "We'll act like we’re in love or whatever. Just... no more surprises, okay?"
May sighed. "Please, no more weddings, no more vows, and no more kids making us do crazy things."
Lily beamed. "Deal."
Lily clapped her hands eagerly as Drew and May stood at the altar, still trying to process the situation. The room was filled with their closest friends, including Ash, Misty, Brock, and Max, all looking like they’d just walked into a bizarre dream.
"Okay, okay," Lily said, her tone overly cheery. "Now, Drew, repeat after me. A vow of eternal love to my Aunt May."
Drew swallowed hard, glancing at May, who looked as horrified as he felt. "I, uh...," he began, his voice shaky, "I promise to always cherish, love, and adore May. Through every storm, and every sunshine, I will hold her close, forever and always..."
May's eyes widened, her face bright red. "Drew, you don't have to—"
"Nope, Aunt May," Lily interrupted, placing a finger to her lips. "You have to listen. Drew's not done."
Drew gave a long, exaggerated sigh before continuing, his voice growing more and more dramatic with each word. "I will laugh with her in joy, cry with her in sorrow, and be her rock in the most uncertain of times... For as long as we both shall live, our love will only grow, for she is my heart, my soul, my everything."
"Okay, okay, you’re done!" May said, her face as red as a tomato. "That was way too much."
Lily nodded approvingly. "Perfect, Uncle Drew! Now, Aunt May, your turn."
May shot a look at Lily that could have burned a hole through her, but resigned herself to the task. She sighed dramatically and said, "Fine. I promise to... uh... appreciate Drew's quirks and strange ways, to put up with his bad jokes and weird habits. And I promise that, even when he’s being a total dork, I will still love him. Because, for some reason, he’s my dork."
Lily beamed. "Wonderful! Now, you may kiss the bride!"
Drew and May stood there, eyes wide and filled with dread. They shared an awkward glance before slowly leaning in, both of them cringing at the thought of a kiss.
"Ugh... this is going to be awful," Drew muttered under his breath.
"Please don't make me do this," May whispered, her face still flushed.
But before either of them could back out, Lily's stern voice cut through the air. "If you two don’t act like a normal couple, I’ll make May pregnant and Drew will be the father... Uncle Drew, that is! So pull. It. Together."
The room fell into an uncomfortable silence. Ash, Misty, Brock, and Max were all staring, horrified.
"What the heck is going on?!" Max exclaimed.
Misty looked like she was about to pass out. "Oh my gosh... Lily... no. Please don't."
Ash was equally panicked. "Wait, wait, wait—are you telling me these two are already together? And now you’re making them get ‘married’?"
Lily flashed them an innocent grin. "Well, they’re practically already married in my eyes. They should act like it, too!"
May and Drew looked like they’d just swallowed something sour, their faces twisted in disgust as they leaned in for the dreaded kiss.
As they made contact, they both jerked back, eyes wide in shock, as if they had just been poisoned. May made a gagging sound. Drew wiped his mouth in exaggerated horror.
"That was horrible," Drew said, turning to May. "You’re lucky I love you. Like, really lucky."
"Yeah, yeah," May muttered, her arms crossed tightly. "But next time, I swear, I’m locking myself in a room with a dozen rose-scented candles before I go through this again."
Lily, beaming with pride, clapped her hands. "Great job, you two! Now go on and enjoy the rest of your... uh, wedding!"
Misty, Ash, Brock, and Max stood there, frozen in disbelief.
"Are we just going to pretend this didn’t happen?" Ash asked, his voice shaky.
"Yeah, let's just... let’s pretend this never happened," Misty said, shaking her head.
Brock sighed. "I think we need to have a serious talk with Lily."
Max looked between Drew and May, his face full of questions. "So... are you guys really together? Or...?"
May rubbed her temples. "Don’t ask. Just... don’t ask."
May and Drew stood at the makeshift altar, both trying to contain their disbelief. Ash, Misty, Brock, and Max stood in the front row, equally confused, all dressed in their finest clothes, with awkward glances shared between them.
"Okay, Aunt May and Uncle Drew," Lily said, clasping her hands together and looking completely satisfied. "You have to do the vows now! And I wrote them down for you." She pulled out a little piece of paper from her pocket and handed it to Drew with a triumphant grin.
Drew stared at the paper, eyes widening as he read the sappy, over-the-top words. "Uh… this is… a lot," he muttered under his breath, but Lily was already beaming at him, waiting for him to start.
"Come on, Drew! It's your turn!" she urged, clapping her hands.
With a heavy sigh, Drew cleared his throat and began in the most dramatic voice he could muster, trying to stifle the cringe forming on his face.
"My dearest May, since the moment I saw you, my heart has been a whirlwind of emotions, and I swear I never knew what true love was until I met you," Drew said, his voice dripping with fake sentiment. "You're my sunshine on the darkest days, my star that lights up the night sky, and I promise to love you forever, through every storm, every challenge, and every sweet moment. I will cherish you always, my beautiful, perfect May."
There was an awkward silence, and even Ash and Misty were wincing at the dramatic display. Misty muttered under her breath, "Who wrote this stuff?"
Max, trying to hold back a snicker, whispered, "Lily, of course."
May, for her part, just stood there, frozen, her face a mix of horror and amusement. "Drew… that was… so much," she said, trying to hide her embarrassment. "But okay, I guess it's my turn."
Lily nodded enthusiastically, waiting for May to begin her vows.
May looked down at the paper in her hands and gulped. "Okay, here goes nothing…"
She cleared her throat, and in the most over-the-top tone she could manage, began, "Oh, Drew, my one true love, my soulmate, my rock. From the moment our paths crossed, I knew that our hearts were destined to beat as one. You are my everything, my reason for breathing, my reason for laughing. You make my life a fairy tale, and I vow to love you with all that I am, through every trial, every triumph, and every moment of joy. You are my heart, Drew, now and forever."
When she finished, the room was dead silent. The only sound was Tessa, who was clapping in delight.
"Perfect!" Lily cheered. "Now, for the kiss!"
May and Drew exchanged horrified glances, their faces pale. "Wait, what?!" Drew exclaimed. "No way, Lily, we don’t—"
But Lily was already giving them a look that sent a chill down their spines. "I said, you two need to kiss. Like a real couple!"
Misty and Ash looked horrified, and Misty hissed to Ash, "If Lily finds out they're dating… we are all dead."
Ash nodded, his face turning a shade paler. "We have to stop her from finding out."
Meanwhile, Lily was standing with her arms crossed, waiting impatiently. "Come on, kiss! Or I’ll make May pregnant and Drew will be the father! Pull it together, you two!"
"WHAT?!" May and Drew both shouted, their faces turning red. The idea of being forced into a public display of affection was mortifying, but Lily’s threat loomed over them like a dark cloud.
Drew looked like he was going to pass out. "Lily, no! You can’t just—"
But before he could protest further, Lily raised a hand, cutting him off. "Do it! Or else!" She glared at them. "Do you want to be a family or not?"
Both Drew and May shared another uncomfortable glance before they slowly leaned in, their lips brushing awkwardly. It was as if they had just tasted poison.
The sound of a loud, overzealous "YAY!" came from Tessa, and Lily was practically jumping for joy. "See, you two are perfect together!"
Ash and Misty were wide-eyed, and Brock had his face in his hands, unable to believe what he was witnessing.
"Okay, okay, we did it. Happy now?" Drew muttered, trying to regain some semblance of composure.
Lily smiled proudly. "Yes! Now you two can be happy and live your fairy tale life!"
May and Drew let out simultaneous sighs of relief as they stepped away from the altar, looking like they had just narrowly avoided something much worse.
But Lily wasn’t finished. "Oh, and just so you know, I’m gonna need a little neice soon, so you better get working on that, okay?"
"WHAT?!" Misty and Ash shouted in unison, horrified.
May and Drew both stared in disbelief, still trying to process everything that had just happened. "Lily… please don't…" May groaned, her face buried in her hands.
But Lily just grinned, proud of her work. "You two are perfect. I’m glad you’re finally getting married!"
"Yeah, we're definitely never doing this again," Drew muttered under his breath, as the rest of the group groaned in unison.
"Agreed," May said, eyeing Lily warily. "Agreed."
Lily stood in front of Drew and May, her arms crossed and a stern look on her face. "Alright, the wedding’s about to start," she declared. "No more goofing off. We’ve got a ceremony to complete."
Drew, still in his pale green vest, wiped his sweaty palms on his white shirt. He glanced at May, who was still adjusting the pale pink gown and orange veil. They both looked at each other with a mixture of confusion and disbelief.
"Okay, what are we supposed to do now?" Drew asked, glancing around at the awkwardly assembled "guests" — Ash, Misty, Brock, and Max, all dressed up in fancy clothes, looking just as confused as they were.
"Well," Lily started, holding up a piece of paper, "since you two are so eager to tie the knot, let’s get those vows done!"
She waved her hand, and a loud "Ahem!" came from behind her. Lily stepped aside, revealing a pair of small chairs where Drew and May were supposed to sit, facing the guests.
"Uncle Drew, Aunt May," Lily began, "you need to say your vows. I’ve written them down for you, so no excuses!" She thrust a paper into Drew’s hand.
Drew blinked at the paper. “Uh… what exactly did you write?”
Lily smiled sweetly but with a hint of mischief. "It’s just something you would say... if you were in love." She crossed her arms and gave them a pointed stare.
May glanced at Drew, then at the paper. "Drew, I swear, this is your fault."
Drew grinned awkwardly and cleared his throat. "Okay… fine. Let's do this." He began reading the vows Lily had written for him.
“May, you’re the light of my life, the one who makes my heart race, the one who makes every day brighter just by existing. With you, I am whole. I will cherish you for as long as we both shall live, and I will love you even when the stars fall from the sky.”
May’s eyes widened as she stared at him. "What the—? Lily! What kind of vow is this?"
But Lily simply put a finger to her lips. "Shh, you have to say it, or I’ll make you do it again."
Drew, holding back a chuckle, finished reading the vow. "And I will always be your rock, May, your protector, your confidant, and your love… forever."
May flushed. "Uh, yeah. No. I’m not saying that."
Lily’s eyes narrowed. "Oh, I’m sorry, Aunt May. I guess you don’t want to get married? Then I’ll make you pregnant and Uncle Drew will be the father. Is that what you want?"
May froze, a horrified look on her face. "W-What did you just say?!"
Ash, Misty, and Brock exchanged horrified looks at Lily’s casual threat, their faces turning pale. Misty gasped, "Wait, what did she mean by that?!"
Ash looked like he was going to pass out. "Wait... are they really...?"
Lily ignored them and continued. "Now, Aunt May, it’s your turn! You have to say your vows too!" She handed May a second sheet of paper.
May stared at the paper, her face turning red. "You’ve got to be kidding me."
The vow Lily wrote for May read:
“Drew, my heart beats only for you. You’re the one who makes my world spin, the one I want to spend every moment with. With you, there is nothing I cannot face, nothing that can separate us. I love you more than anything, now and forever.”
May’s eyes twitched. "This is way too much! This isn’t me!"
Drew chuckled nervously. "Yeah, that’s what I thought too, but... looks like we have no choice."
May glared at him, her face bright red. "I swear, Lily, you’re going to pay for this later."
After what felt like an eternity of awkward silence, Lily stepped forward. "Now you may kiss each other. I expect this to be a real kiss, none of that ‘peck on the cheek’ nonsense. KISS. On. The. Lips."
May’s jaw dropped. "WHAT?!"
Drew backed away, looking horrified. "I... I don’t know if I can do that."
Lily’s eyes narrowed dangerously. "If you don’t, I’ll tell everyone you’re secretly together, and it’ll be worse than a kiss. So pull it together!"
Misty, still horrified, leaned over to Ash, whispering. "Are they... together?"
Ash gulped, his eyes wide. "Uh... I hope not. If Lily finds out, they’re toast."
Drew turned to May, both of them looking like they’d just swallowed something poisonous. They leaned in, eyes closed, both cringing at the thought of what they had to do.
Their lips met—awkwardly. The kiss was short, but it felt like it lasted forever. When they pulled apart, they both gasped for air, their faces flushed red.
"I... I feel like I just ate a rotten apple," Drew muttered, wiping his mouth dramatically.
May didn’t even respond, just shuddered. "That was awful."
Lily, smiling happily, clapped her hands. "Perfect! I knew you two would pull it off! Now you’re officially husband and wife!"
May and Drew shared a long, incredulous look. "I swear to Arceus, Lily," May began, "If you ever do something like that again..."
Drew nodded quickly. "I second that. Never again, please."
Ash, Misty, and Brock, still processing the horror, were left speechless.
Lily smiled sweetly and innocently, oblivious to the chaos she’d just caused. "Now, go enjoy the rest of the wedding! You two deserve it!"
