Drew leaned on the wooden fence, and May sat, legs scrunched to her chest and leaning back on the fence, watching the sunset.

" This is beautiful, isn't it?" Drew asked.

May nodded. " Sure is."

Drew looked at May and sighed faintly. For the last few days, Everytime Drew would see May, he would get this feeling in his chest.

A feeling that felt good.

He liked May.

And May?

Well, she's had a super duper crush on Drew for as long as she can remember.

She lived how fierce Drew was.

And how anytime you would stare into his warm green eyes, you would feel okay.

She just loved his green hair, and how Everytime he would brag, he would tuck in a bang on his face.

She sighed and smiled faintly.

Suddenly, a raven haired girl walked up to them. " Hey you two." She said with a wide grin. " Are you two planning your wedding?"

Drew turned and put one hand on his hip, the other still leaning on the fence

May, on the other hand, had stood up and waved her arms, blushing.

" Come on now, why would we do that?"

Wisty grinned. " No reason. Anyway, here's a package."

May took it. " Thanks, Wisty but.... What excaty is in here?"

Wisty shrugged. " No idea. Anyway gotta go!"

Without another word she bolted off into the valley

Drew stared at the box. " Well?"

May looked at him. " Well what?"

" Are.you gonna open it?"
May knelt on the ground, playing the box onto the dirt.

" You should come to this side. In case it's surprising."

May nodded. " Good point."

She handed the box to Drew and jumped over, then opened the box, Dres standing behind her, hands on knees.

When she opened it, there aS a bunch of things.

But there was a velvet box.

Curious, she took it and opened it.

It was an engagement ring.

Drew and May yelped. " AN ENGAGEMENT RING?!"

May threw the box as far as she could. " Y... You saw that too right?"

Drew nodded, still dazed. " Y... Yeah."

May looked into the box again and pulled out two tickets for a cruise.

May read the letter that they came with a groaned. " Oh really?"

Drew looked from his nails. " What?*

" She bought us tickets for a cruise..... And she's making us go on it like a couple."

They both looked at one each other, then blushed and promptly looked away, crossing their arms. " Hmph!"

They stayed like that for a few minutes.

Then, May cleared her throat.

" So.... Guess there's no reason to waste her money."

Drew raised an eyebrow, still trying to keep his composure, though a smirk tugged at the corners of his mouth. “So, you’re saying… we should go on this cruise… like a couple?” He attempted to sound indifferent, but the hint of a blush betrayed him.

May’s cheeks turned even pinker. She hugged her knees tighter, avoiding his gaze. “W-Well… I mean, it would be a shame to let the tickets go to waste,” she mumbled. “And it could be fun, right?”

Drew leaned closer, his voice a little teasing. “So, you want to go with me? As my… ‘date’?” He winked, knowing how much it would fluster her.

May stammered, looking anywhere but at him. “It’s… it’s not like that! We’re just… friends going on a trip. That’s all!”

Drew chuckled, enjoying her reaction. “Sure, if that’s what helps you sleep at night.” He nudged her shoulder lightly, adding a little more sincerity to his tone. “But seriously, May… I think it could be fun. Just us, relaxing on a cruise… No battles, no competitions.”

May finally met his gaze, her heart racing at the thought. “Yeah… that does sound nice,” she admitted, her voice soft.

They shared a quiet moment, the tension between them thick but strangely comfortable.

After a few beats of silence, Drew shrugged casually, though there was a flicker of excitement in his eyes. “Alright, then. Let’s make it the best cruise ever.”

May grinned, her nerves easing a bit. “Yeah… together.”

As May pulled her legs up to her chest, resting her chin on her knees, Drew shifted a little closer to her, draping his arm gently around her shoulders. His hand hovered there for a second, as if unsure, before finally settling comfortably at the nape of her neck.

May felt her heart skip a beat, her face turning warm as she slowly leaned into him, letting her head rest against his shoulder. Neither of them said a word at first. The quiet was filled with the soft rustling of the grass, the gentle lapping of the lake in front of them, and the warm glow of the sunset casting everything in shades of gold and pink.

“Hey, May?” Drew finally broke the silence, his voice softer than usual.

“Yeah?” she whispered, too relaxed to say much more.

“I… uh…” He hesitated, searching for the right words. “I don’t think I’d really want to go on that cruise with anyone else, you know? Even if Wisty’s being pushy… maybe she has a point.”

May’s heart raced. She tilted her head to look up at him, her blue eyes wide and full of curiosity. “You really mean that?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Drew gave a small nod, his cheeks taking on a faint pink hue. “Yeah… I mean, there’s just something about being around you. You make everything feel… different. In a good way.”

May swallowed, feeling a warmth spread through her that wasn’t just from the setting sun. She could barely believe he was saying this; for once, Drew was being open, vulnerable. And it made her want to be brave, too.

“You know,” she said quietly, “I kind of feel the same way. I mean… every time I see you, I get this… feeling. I don’t know what it means exactly, but… it’s nice.”

Drew chuckled, his voice low. “For someone who doesn’t know what it means, you sure seem to describe it perfectly.” He looked down at her, his green eyes softer than she’d ever seen them.

For a long moment, they just looked at each other, neither moving, as if something unspoken hung between them, something delicate and new.

Then, Drew slowly leaned in, his eyes never leaving hers, waiting to see if she’d pull away. But May didn’t flinch; instead, she leaned forward, closing the space between them until their foreheads nearly touched.

“Drew…” she murmured, her voice full of everything she couldn’t quite put into words.

“May…” he whispered back, his hand moving to cup her face gently, his thumb tracing her cheek in a way that made her heart race.

Just as they seemed about to close the last, tiny bit of distance, a voice rang out from behind them.

“Well, isn’t this cute!”

They sprang apart, cheeks flushed, as Wisty stood there, hands on her hips and a wide grin on her face. “Didn’t mean to interrupt! Just wanted to make sure you guys are all set for that cruise.”

May stammered, practically glowing red. “Wisty! I… uh… we… it’s not—”

Drew scratched the back of his head, giving Wisty a faintly annoyed look. “You have the worst timing, you know that?”

Wisty just laughed. “Hey, if you two would stop dancing around each other, maybe you’d have some privacy! I’ll leave you lovebirds alone. But remember—cruise leaves next week! Don’t keep each other waiting!”

As she walked away, May and Drew exchanged a shy glance, both blushing but smiling a little, too.

Finally, Drew took her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. “Guess we better make the most of that cruise, huh?”

May smiled, her cheeks still pink. “Yeah… together.”
