Volcano

" Brock...."

" Yeah. I heard. Seems to Me-"

Suddenly, Ash's phone rang.
" Excuse me. I have to take this." He answered.

" ASH IT'S BURNING!".

" Uh...
You're gonna need to be more specific."

" THE VOLCANO!"

Ash's eyes widened. " You're AT the volcano?"

There was a pause. " Uh...."

Ash groaned. " Wisty!"

" Well what was I supposed to do?"

" Stay next to me and be safe?"

Misty scoffed. " As if!"

Ash sighed. " Wisty stay right where you are and don't move. I'm coming."

" That's not gonna be hard."

" Why?"

" I might have forgotten to tell you, but.... I'm on a boulder. Trying to stay safe."

Ash facepalmed. " You're so danger prone."

" So are you!"

" Yeah? Well at least I don't go to a volcano without telling someone!"

" You're my older brother of course you do!"

Suddenly, Ash heard a roar

The others heard it too. " What was that?!" Gok asked as he turned to Ash.

Brock crossed his arms. " Why did your sister just roar.

Ash groaned. " Wisty is at the volcano."

" Altaria!" They heard the young girl shout. " Fly up there and give me an overview of what's going on. Amaura, Deerling, Sprigatito, I choose you!"

Ash's heart raced as he heard his sister's panicked voice over the phone. "Wisty, stay there!" he shouted, trying to sound calm, but his worry was clear.

"Can't!" Wisty yelled back. "The lava monster found-SPRIGATITO, LOOK OUT!"

Ash clenched his fists, glancing at Brock and Goh. "We've gotta move. Fast."

"What's the plan?" Brock asked, already prepping his Pokémon.

"We head to the volcano," Ash said, determination blazing in his eyes. "Wisty's in trouble, and we're not letting her face this alone."

Goh nodded and threw a Poké Ball. "Cinderace, let's go!"

Brock followed suit. "Steelix, I choose you! Lead the way!"

As they mounted their Pokémon, Ash kept his phone close to his ear. "Wisty, hang in there. We're coming as fast as we can."

In the background, Wisty's voice was frantic but focused. "Sprigatito, dodge and hit it with Leafage! Amaura, freeze the lava flow-Deerling, use Energy Ball!"

Ash bit his lip, hearing the chaos unfold. "Just hold on a little longer..."

Then there was silence on the other end of the line.

"Wisty?" Ash called out, his voice shaking. "Wisty, answer me!"

No response.

Ash's pulse quickened as they sped toward the volcano, a sense of dread creeping into his chest.

As they neared the base of the volcano, Ash's heart was pounding in his chest. He spotted Wisty rolling out of the way of an incoming lava stream, barking orders to her Pokémon with Sprigatito perched on her shoulder, looking alert and determined as always.

"Sprigatito, use Leafage! Amaura, freeze that lava flow again!" Wisty shouted as her Pokémon acted with precision.

Ash jumped off his ride, sprinting toward her as fast as he could. "Wisty!" he called out, his voice filled with relief and worry.

She turned just in time to see her brother rushing towards her. Without a second thought, Ash wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into a tight hug. Wisty blinked in surprise but quickly hugged him back, her exhaustion showing in the way she leaned into him for a second.

"You scared me!" Ash breathed, his voice filled with both frustration and relief. He pulled back just enough to look at her. "I told you to stay safe!"

Wisty smirked, brushing some ash off her sleeve. "C'mon, Ash, since when have I ever played it safe?" she said with a wink. But her expression softened. "Sorry for making you worry. I had it under control... mostly."

Ash shook his head, exasperated but smiling. "You're lucky I didn't have a heart attack back there!"

Wisty chuckled softly. "Well, you found me, didn't you?"

Behind them, Brock and Goh caught up, assessing the scene as Wisty's Pokémon continued holding off the lava monster. Brock nodded approvingly. "She's got a strong team, Ash. But maybe next time, no solo volcano missions?"

Wisty grinned. "No promises."

Wisty reached for her belt, pulling out a Poké Ball with a confident grin. "Alright, it's time for some backup! Eevee, I choose you!" She tossed the ball into the air, and in a flash of light, her Eevee appeared, landing gracefully on the ground.

"Eevee, do your thing!" Wisty commanded.

Eevee's ears perked up, sensing the urgency in Wisty's voice. It darted forward, weaving between the other Pokémon as it unleashed a powerful Swift attack at the lava monster, sending streaks of glowing stars into the molten creature.

"Good girl, Eevee!" Wisty praised, her eyes sparkling with pride as her Pokémon leaped back to her side.

Ash watched, shaking his head with a small smile. "Of course you've got an Eevee, too. You're full of surprises."

Wisty winked. "You know me, always ready for anything." Then she turned back to the battle, fully focused. "Alright team, let's finish this!"

As Wisty prepared to dash back into the heat of battle, Ash quickly grabbed the edge of her dress, yanking her back. "Wisty, hold on! We need to strategize!"

She turned and gave him a look, raising an eyebrow. "Since when have we *ever* done that?" she shot back, a smirk forming on her face.

Ash groaned, clearly exasperated. "You're so annoying!"

"And you're such a worrywart!" Wisty retorted, crossing her arms.

Within moments, their bickering escalated. Ash's face was red with frustration, and Wisty had her hands on her hips, shooting sharp comebacks his way.

Brock sighed, stepping in between them like he had done so many times before. "Alright, that's enough!" he said, pushing them apart gently but firmly. "Can you two stop fighting for five minutes? There's a lava monster over there, remember?"

Ash and Wisty both huffed, glaring at each other for a moment before Brock's logic finally sank in.

"Fine," Ash muttered, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Whatever," Wisty mumbled, crossing her arms but clearly not ready to drop it completely.

Brock rolled his eyes. "I swear, it's like babysitting sometimes," he muttered under his breath, glancing at Goh, who just shrugged with an amused grin.

"Now, can we focus on the actual battle?" Brock said, motioning to the raging lava monster still lurking nearby.
Ash and Brock quickly shifted their focus to the battle at hand. "Pidgeotto, I choose you!" Ash yelled, tossing his Poké Ball into the air. Pidgeotto soared out, its wings catching the ash-laden wind as it circled above the volcano, waiting for Ash's command.

"Alright, Pidgeotto, let's create some wind and blow that lava back!" Ash called, watching his Pokémon prepare to counter the lava monster's next move. But before he could give the next order, a strange feeling gnawed at him.

He blinked, glancing to his side where Wisty had been standing just moments before. "Wait... where is she?!"

He spun around, scanning the area, but there was no sign of her on the ground. Panic rose in his chest, his heart skipping a beat. "Wisty!" he called out, looking around frantically. "Wisty, where did you go?!"

Goh, who had been focusing on his Cinderace, turned in confusion. "She was just here a second ago..."

Brock narrowed his eyes and pointed up toward the volcano. "Uh, Ash..."

Ash followed Brock's gaze, and his jaw dropped. There, standing on a narrow ledge near the rim of the volcano, Wisty stood *calmly* with her hands on her hips, as if she didn't have a care in the world.

"WISTY!" Ash screamed at the top of his lungs, completely losing it. "What are you doing up there?! Get down now!"

Wisty looked down at her brother, annoyed. She waved dismissively, her voice completely casual. "Would you calm down, Ash? I've got this!"

"Calm down?!" Ash shouted, his voice cracking from sheer panic. "You're on a volcano, Wisty! A VOLCANO!"

Brock and Goh watched as Ash continued to freak out. Goh glanced at Brock with a raised eyebrow. "Should we... do something?"

Brock shook his head, smirking. "Nah, this happens all the time. She'll figure it out."

Meanwhile, Wisty, totally unfazed by her brother's hysterics, turned back toward the lava monster that was inching closer to her perch. "Alright, Eevee, Sprigatito, let's show them how it's done!"

With a confident smirk, she threw her arm forward. "Sprigatito, use Leafage! Eevee, Swift attack!"

Her Pokémon leapt into action, Sprigatito launching a flurry of sharp leaves, while Eevee sent glowing stars crashing into the lava monster, each hit landing with precision. The monster roared, stumbling backward, struggling to hold itself together.

"See?" Wisty called down, grinning as the creature faltered. "Told you I got this!"

Ash was still pacing below, his hands tangled in his hair as he screamed up at her. "Wisty, just get down here before you-"

Before he could finish, the ledge beneath Wisty began to crack. She froze, glancing down just as it gave way beneath her feet. With no time to react, Wisty lost her footing and plummeted toward the ground.

"WISTY!" Ash screamed, heart leaping into his throat as he bolted forward, instinct taking over. He ran toward where she was falling, arms outstretched as he raced to catch her.

Time seemed to slow down as Wisty tumbled through the air. Her eyes widened, her heart pounding, but just before she hit the ground, she felt strong arms catch her mid-air. Ash skidded to a stop, stumbling slightly but holding onto her tightly.

For a moment, neither of them said anything. Wisty, still catching her breath from the fall, blinked up at Ash, who was clutching her protectively, his chest rising and falling in ragged breaths.

"Are you crazy?!" Ash finally shouted, his face red with both anger and relief. "What were you thinking?!"

Wisty blinked, taking a second to realize what had just happened. Then, as if nothing had occurred, she gave him a sheepish grin. "Uh... thanks for the catch?"

"Thanks for the-?!" Ash shook his head, completely at a loss. "You... You could've gotten hurt! Or worse!"

Wisty rolled her eyes, still trying to act like it wasn't a big deal. "Relax, Ash. I knew you'd catch me."

Ash glared at her, still holding onto her as if she'd disappear if he let go. "That doesn't make it okay, Wisty! You can't just run into danger like that!"

Wisty's smirk softened slightly as she saw the real worry in her brother's eyes. She sighed, letting her head rest against his shoulder for a second. "Okay, okay. I'm sorry, alright? But hey, we beat the lava monster, didn't we?"

Ash shook his head, but the corner of his mouth twitched into a reluctant smile. "Yeah, we did. But you're still so grounded after this."

Wisty grinned, her mischievous spark returning. "Yeah, yeah. You always say that."

As the lava monster finally collapsed, defeated by the combined efforts of their Pokémon, Brock and Goh approached the siblings, both of them shaking their heads in amused disbelief.

"Well, at least she did it," Goh said, chuckling.

Brock sighed, crossing his arms. "But next time, Wisty, maybe listen to your brother before you decide to scale a volcano?"

Wisty just grinned. "No promises."
