Tie One On
" You can't expect amateur Pokemon Trainers to have any control over their pokemon."
" WHAAAAAAT?!"
" Keep your cool, Ash."
Suddenly, they heard whistling.
Familiar whistling
Gary and Ash groaned.
" Here comes the walking nightmare." Gary sighed.
" You mean monster." Ash corrected
Wisty walked up to them, hands in pocket. " Hello, frenemies. How's my favorite couple doing on this fine day besides stick up for the other?"
Gary and Ash groaned. " WISTYYYY!"
Jackson leaned in to Harrison. " Who is she?"
" Ash's younger sister."
" Oh."
Jackson remained silent for a few seconds.
" Why is she teasing Ash?"
" Because she loves to."
Wisty, meanwhile, sighed and stretched. " Well, you two do love one another."
" NO WE DON'T!"
Wisty smirked at their simultaneous outburst, clearly enjoying herself. She took her time walking around Ash and Gary, inspecting them as though they were an exhibit at a museum. "Oh, come on, you two. The way you argue and bicker, it’s like watching a drama series. The whole world can see it."
Ash’s face turned red, his fists clenching as he pointed at his sister. "Wisty, you can’t just go around saying stuff like that!"
Gary, standing beside Ash with his arms crossed, looked equally frustrated. "Exactly! You don’t know anything!"
Wisty raised an eyebrow and put her hands on her hips, clearly not backing down. "Oh, I know plenty. Like how you two always find some excuse to spend time together, and how you get so worked up when the other is in trouble. Face it—you’re practically inseparable."
"That’s because we’re rivals!" Ash shouted, almost stomping his foot in frustration.
"Yeah, rivals," Gary echoed. "Nothing more."
Wisty shrugged with a playful smirk. "Sure, sure. Rivals who just happen to care about each other more than you’re willing to admit."
Jackson blinked in confusion, leaning closer to Harrison again. "Wait, is she being serious?"
Harrison nodded, smirking himself. "Oh, she’s serious. She loves stirring the pot."
Misty, who had been standing nearby, couldn't hold back her laughter any longer. "You know, Wisty has a point. You two do act like an old married couple."
Ash whirled around to face her, his face now practically glowing red. "Misty! Not you too!"
Brock folded his arms, chuckling as well. "I’ve gotta agree with Wisty and Misty on this one, Ash. The signs are all there."
Ash groaned, pulling his cap down over his eyes in frustration. "Why is everyone against me today?!"
Wisty grinned wider. "We’re not against you, big bro. We’re just... helping you see the truth." She turned to Gary, who was now doing his best to look disinterested. "And you, Mr. ‘I don’t care about Ash,’ sure seem to get awfully defensive whenever I bring this up."
Gary scoffed. "I’m not defensive, I just don’t want to hear this nonsense."
"Right, because it’s ‘nonsense’ that you were ready to jump in and save Ash at the drop of a hat during the last battle." Wisty waggled her eyebrows teasingly.
Gary’s face flushed slightly, but he quickly turned away. "I just didn’t want to lose, that’s all."
Wisty chuckled. "Sure, Gary. Whatever you say."
Ash, still fuming, threw his hands up. "I don’t get why you always have to do this, Wisty. Can’t you just, I don’t know, be normal for once?"
Wisty tilted her head, looking thoughtful for a moment. "Hmm... nah. This is way more fun."
Misty stepped up beside Ash, patting him on the shoulder. "You know, you might as well just accept it. Wisty’s never going to stop teasing you."
"Never," Wisty confirmed, grinning mischievously.
Gary, still looking annoyed, shook his head. "You’re impossible."
"And you love me for it," Wisty shot back, giving Gary a wink.
Ash and Gary groaned in unison, clearly defeated.
Jackson, still watching the whole scene unfold, whispered to Harrison. "Man, I wouldn’t want to be in Ash’s shoes. His sister is relentless."
Harrison nodded in agreement. "Yeah, but it’s kind of entertaining to watch."
As the teasing continued, Wisty strolled around the group, her playful energy keeping everyone on edge. She was like a whirlwind—always stirring up trouble, but in a way that made it hard not to laugh.
"Well," Wisty finally said, dusting off her hands as if her work was done. "I’ll leave you two lovebirds to your bickering. Don’t have too much fun without me!"
With that, she sauntered off, whistling to herself, leaving Ash and Gary standing there, still red-faced and frustrated.
Ash let out a long, exasperated sigh. "This is my life. This is what I have to deal with."
Gary, shaking his head, muttered under his breath. "I don’t know how you put up with her."
Ash shrugged helplessly. "I’m still trying to figure that out."
