Stunt Spore Incident

" Misty!" Ash exclaimed as he ran to her. " What happened?"

Misty coughed. " St...tun...sp..p.p...por....re..."

Ash furrowed his brows. " You mean the flower that made me paralyzed a few days back?"

Nod.

Ash's eyes widened. " Hold on!" He exclaimed as he took his phone out of his pocket. " I'll call Brock!"

" Nurse Joy, if I may ask, how many more Pokemon are there that need help?" Brock asked as he caught sight of the red haired lady.

Joy turned to Brock. " I honestly don't know." She admitted. " It's going to be a lot, that's for sure."

Just as Brock was about to answer, his phone rang.

Hey, Brock? It's Ash. I'm cal-

" Ash? What did you get yourself into this time?" He asked as he picked up.

Ash sighed. " I didn't get myself into anything. MISTY did."

" What happened?" Brock asked as he used his shoulder to press his phone to his ear as he filled some paperwork.

" She got into contact with a Stun Spore."

Brock froze, his white coat ruffling in the breeze. " What?!"

Ash sighed and nodded. " Yeah. Should I bring her over?"

Brock glanced at the time. He still had another two hours.

" Sorry, Brock I can't come home."

He could hear Misty's voice. " It's... Fine..." She muttered.

Brock could hear Ash glare at her. " Oh, really?" He asked in a sarcastic tone. " Last time I suggested that YOU told me I HAD to?"

" Yeah?" Misty asked in her weak voice. " Maybe because Brock is BUSY!"

" Who said he wasn't busy last time? And the time before that?"

" Easy, guys, easy!" Brock said nervously. " Ash, bring Misty over. And Misty, hang tight."

Ash hung up the phone, turning back to Misty with determination in his eyes. "Come on, Misty, we need to get you to Brock. He’s going to help."

Misty coughed weakly but nodded, leaning against Ash as he helped her up. "I... I hate this flower," she mumbled.

"I know, but we’ll fix this," Ash reassured her, guiding her carefully through the woods.

As they reached the Pokémon Center, Ash practically burst through the doors, holding Misty up as best as he could. Nurse Joy’s eyes widened as she saw them.

"Stun Spore incident," Ash explained quickly, "Brock’s expecting us."

Nurse Joy nodded swiftly. "I’ll prepare a room. Brock should be in the back, helping with the other patients." She turned on her heel and hurried down the hall.

Ash sat Misty down on a nearby bench as they waited, his leg bouncing nervously. "You’re going to be okay, Misty. Brock will know exactly what to do."

Misty gave a small, weak smile. "You’re... always so dramatic, Ash."

"Well, yeah," Ash said, giving a half-hearted chuckle, "I guess I learned from the best."

Just then, Brock came rushing around the corner, his doctor’s kit in hand. "Ash, Misty!" He knelt beside Misty and began assessing her condition, his brow furrowed with concern. "Misty, can you hear me?"

Misty gave a slight nod, her eyelids heavy. "Brock... it’s not as bad as last time, I think."

"That’s good," Brock said, but he still worked quickly. He retrieved an antidote vial from his kit and prepped the injection. "This should neutralize the Stun Spore. Just stay still for a second."

Ash watched, biting his lip as Brock administered the antidote. Misty winced slightly but didn’t protest, clearly too weak to put up much resistance.

"How long will it take for her to get better?" Ash asked, his voice tinged with worry.

Brock looked up. "She should start feeling better in a few minutes, but the full recovery might take a couple of hours. Stun Spore can be tricky, but we caught it early."

Ash let out a breath of relief, his shoulders slumping. "Thank goodness."

After a few minutes, Misty’s breathing steadied, and she blinked up at Brock, her strength slowly returning. "Thanks, Brock," she muttered, her voice hoarse but clearer.

Brock smiled in relief. "Anytime, Misty. You just need to rest for a while, okay?"

Misty nodded, leaning back against the bench. Ash, still sitting by her side, looked over at Brock. "I don’t know what we’d do without you."

Brock chuckled. "Well, you’d probably get into a lot more trouble, that’s for sure."

Ash grinned, but his relief was evident. "I guess I owe you one."

Misty smiled weakly at them both. "More like ten."

" Hey, Nurse Joy?* Brock asked as he caught up with the pretty lady. " I have some patients who don't like shots. Is there a way to make it easier?*

Joy looked at Brock. " You're asking me?*

Brock nodded

" Brock, you're one of the best doctors here! You'll figure it out!*

Then she asked, " but why did you come ask now?*

Before Brock could reply, Misty's ringtone buzzed.

" Br-*

" Excuse me a moment." Brock said while stepping to the side.

" What happened?*

Misty took a deep breath. " SoPsyduckwasgoingtogointothestuntsporeandAshsavesitbuthe'ssuperparalyzed!*

Ash's voice could be heard. " I told you not to call him "

" You can't take care of a stint spore on your own!" Misty argued.

" Did you even SEE what the antidote was?*

" Ye- oh." Misty suddenly realized.

" Uh huh."

" Guys, guys, calm down!* Ash, misty is going to bring you over. And no... That antidote for you."

Misty sighed in relief. "Thanks, Brock. We’re on our way."

Brock put his phone away and turned to see Nurse Joy with a raised eyebrow but smiled sympathetically. "I swear, the amount of trouble those two get into..."

Brock nodded, chuckling lightly. "Tell me about it." But then he remembered her earlier comment. "But seriously, Joy, about the patients who don’t like shots... I was hoping you might have a trick or two?"

Nurse Joy tapped her chin thoughtfully. "Well, Brock, you’ve got the bedside manner, so that’s half the battle. Distractions work wonders with some patients. Give them something to focus on, or even have them hold a Pokémon—they tend to calm people down."

Brock’s eyes lit up. "That’s actually a great idea! I could have Chansey or one of the other Pokémon nearby when giving shots."

Joy smiled brightly. "Exactly! And honestly, sometimes it’s about making sure they trust you. You’ve already got that part covered."

Just then, the door opened, and Psyduck stumbled in. Brock turned to Nurse Joy, giving her a resigned smile. "Looks like I’ve got my hands full with those two, as usual."

Joy chuckled, shaking her head. "You wouldn’t have it any other way, though, would you?"

Brock grinned. "Yeah... you’re right."

Misty stumbled into the Pokémon Center, half-dragging Ash by his arm, while Ash’s legs barely kept up. He was still strong, even with his muscles half-paralyzed, making it harder for Misty to get him through the door.

"Come on, Ash!" Misty huffed, tugging him along. "You need to get treated!"

Ash, looking frustrated but trying to stay calm, grumbled, "Misty, I can’t move, remember? The Stun Spore has me completely locked up!"

Misty rolled her eyes but didn’t stop pulling him. "Yeah, well, your mouth’s working just fine."

As soon as Brock saw them, he rushed over to help. "Whoa, whoa, hold on, Misty. I’ve got this." He gently took Ash from her, supporting him under one arm.

"Thanks, Brock," Ash muttered, wincing as they made their way toward the examination table. "I hate this."

"I know, Ash," Brock said, carefully guiding him to sit. "But you’ve got to stop jumping into things like that without thinking."

Misty crossed her arms, watching as Brock prepared the antidote. "Yeah, seriously, Ash. You’re always getting yourself into trouble, and we’re the ones who have to clean up the mess."

Ash rolled his eyes, his face still stiff from the paralysis. "You’re welcome, Psyduck," he muttered sarcastically, throwing a glance at the dopey Pokémon who was wandering around the room, completely oblivious to the trouble he caused.

Brock sighed and injected the antidote into Ash’s arm. "You should feel better in a few minutes, but try to stay still."

Ash grunted in acknowledgment but still looked frustrated. Misty, on the other hand, leaned over him and pointed. "And next time, maybe think before you go charging in like that, okay?"

Ash blinked at her. "I was thinking—about saving Psyduck."

Misty groaned, exasperated. "Well, next time, think about saving yourself, too!"
