In the Palm of my Hand!
" Return!" Quillon shouted before turning to Weedle. " Now Weavile"
" Azumarill!"
" Blastoise, come on out!"
" Hey! What are you doing?!"
" I think having a battle is our best plan."
" No, it's not." Wisty said from back. " Let ME handle it."
When Mew heard her voice, it froze. " Mew?"
Wisty hopped forward. " Before we do any business what do ever, be a dear and do something with this leg, would ya?"
She held out her leg, and Mew used recover on her leg
" It... It healed it." Goh said in amazement.
Wisty smirked. " Told ya."
Then the turned to the three who took their Pokemon out. " Call of your Pokemon, NOW."
Quillon stepped forward. " No."
Wisty cracked her neck. " Fine. Have it your way. Mew, thunderbolt! Eevee, Umbreon an-"
Suddenly, a Pokemon came out of Gary's Pokeball.
Umbreon.
" Umbreon!"
" Eevee Eevee!"
Wisty turned to the two. " Okay, you do that."
She turned to Mew. " You heard them."
" You can't just order a legendary Pokemon around!" Quillon argued.
Wisty smirked. " Oh, I can't, can I?"
She turned to Mew. " Okay-"
" Woah woah woah!" A voice called from behind her. " What are you doing?!"
Wisty groaned. " Congratulations and what are you doing here?"
" What do you think?"
Wisty turned. " How should I know?!"
" You're my sister?"
" Uh, but how is THAT supposed to help."
" How is it NOT gonna help?"
" I'm not you!"
" Hah! That's.... debatable."
Wisty sighed and crossed her arms. " Where's Pikachu and the others?"
Ash blinked. "Uh... good question, actually."
Wisty facepalmed. "How about we finish this charming conversation after you find your Pokémon, Ash?"
Ash sighed. " Fiiiiiine. But you better not destroy anything!"
" I wasn't Going to!"
" You were gonna make Mew!"
" I'm not mew!"
" It's your Pokemon!"
Everyone gasped. " WHAAAAAAT?!"
Wisty rolled her eyes. " Don't act like it's a big deal."
" But it is!" Dakina argued. " You CAUGHT Mew!"
Wisty sighed. " Well, I didn't really CATCH it Per se..... but it IS mine."
Horace blinked. " Wow...... never thought anyone would catch Mew."
Wisty smirked. " Well, I got a liiiiiitle help from Ash. But just a little!"
Ash came to the light with Pikachu on his shoulder. " Riiiiight." He drawled. " And I wasn't the one who suggested to win its love?"
" That's the little help."
Ash sputtered. " Hey!"
Wisty smirked. " Besides." She said mischievously. " You have waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many."
Pikachu, still perched on Ash's shoulder, let out a cheerful, "Pika!" as if in agreement.
Mew floated silently above the group, its tail flicking as if it were preparing to leave. It looked back at them one last time, eyes shimmering with a mix of emotions. As it turned, ready to vanish into the sky, Wisty noticed and reacted quickly.
"Mew, wait!" Wisty called out, her voice urgent.
Mew paused, looking over its shoulder, curious.
Without hesitation, Wisty scrambled toward a nearby cliff, her hands grabbing at rocks and roots as she climbed with determination. The others watched, unsure of what she was doing. Gary stepped forward as if to help, but Wisty shot him a sharp look, halting him in his tracks. She hoisted herself up the last bit of the cliff and stood, panting slightly, her hair tousled by the wind.
"Mew," Wisty said, catching her breath, "you need to listen to me."
Mew tilted its head slightly, hovering above the cliff.
"You can't just throw your anger on others!" Wisty's voice rang out, echoing in the clearing below. "You think you're the only one who's been hurt? The only one who's lost something? But attacking them—attacking us—isn't going to fix anything!"
Mew's expression darkened, its soft blue glow intensifying. The air crackled with energy as it floated higher, clearly agitated.
Wisty stood her ground, even as Mew's power caused the very ground beneath her to tremble. She took a deep breath, locking eyes with the legendary Pokémon. "I get it, okay? I know what it's like to feel out of control, but hurting people who care isn't the answer!"
Mew suddenly let out a sharp cry, its eyes glowing brightly, and launched a beam of psychic energy toward Wisty.
"Wisty, no!" Ash shouted from below, his voice filled with panic as Pikachu's fur stood on end.
But Wisty was ready. She dove to the side, barely dodging the attack, rolling across the ground. She came to a stop, knees digging into the dirt, as she yelled back, "I'm not running away from you, Mew! You need to hear me!"
Mew let out another enraged cry, launching another attack. This time, the force knocked Wisty off her feet. She hit the ground hard, skidding across the rough earth, but she still managed to stand back up, her body aching.
"Weavile, help her!" Quillon shouted, but Wisty raised a hand to stop him.
"No!" she snapped, her voice firm. "This is between me and Mew."
Mew charged again, this time sending a wave of energy that cracked the cliffside beneath Wisty's feet. The ground gave way, and Wisty fell, landing hard on the jagged rocks below.
"WISTY!" Ash screamed, panic in his voice as he rushed forward, but Gary grabbed his arm.
"Wait! She knows what she's doing," Gary said, though his voice betrayed his concern.
Wisty groaned as she tried to push herself up, blood trickling from a gash on her arm. Eevee, who had been watching the battle with wide eyes, darted forward, ignoring the chaos around it. The little Pokémon ran to Wisty's side, nuzzling her hand frantically.
"I'm fine, Eve. I'm fine," Wisty muttered, patting Eevee gently, though she winced at the pain shooting through her body.
Mew hovered nearby, watching her cautiously, its rage seemingly subdued for a moment. Wisty sat up slowly, looking Mew in the eyes, her voice softer now. "You don't have to fight like this. You're not alone. I know what it feels like to be scared... to lose control. But you have to trust us. We're not your enemies."
Mew's glow dimmed slightly, its gaze softening.
Ash, unable to stay silent any longer, rushed toward her. "WISTY!" he called again, his voice filled with both relief and exasperation.
Wisty groaned dramatically, rolling her eyes. "Oh, shut up, Ash," she snapped, waving him off. "I'm fine, alright? It's a long story."
Ash stopped dead in his tracks, taken aback. "But you're hurt—!"
Wisty smirked and shrugged, despite the pain. "Yeah, and I'll be fine, thanks to Mew. Besides, I'm used to getting into worse scrapes than this."
Gary, standing a bit behind, finally spoke up. "You always have to make it a show, don't you?" He raised an eyebrow, trying to hide his worry with a smirk.
Wisty turned her gaze toward Gary, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Oh, Gary, let's not forget that you were the one who nearly wet yourself back there."
Gary's eyes widened in surprise. "What? I—no, I didn't!"
"Oh, you absolutely did," Wisty teased, a grin spreading across her face. She looked to the others, making sure they all could hear. "You should've seen him when Mew first appeared—he practically jumped behind Ash for cover. Talk about bravery, right?"
Ash snorted, unable to hold back his laughter. "Gary, you're supposed to be the cool one!"
Gary turned red, glaring at both Wisty and Ash. "I did NOT hide behind you!"
"Oh, sure," Wisty said, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "And Ash didn't fall face-first into that mud puddle earlier, right?"
Ash's eyes widened in horror. "Wisty—no—don't—!"
"Oh, yeah," Wisty continued, relishing the moment. "Ash was in such a hurry to get here that he slipped and—splat—face-first into the mud! Pikachu had to help him up."
Everyone burst out laughing, even Quillon smirked. Ash's face turned beet red, and he crossed his arms, grumbling, "I thought we weren't gonna mention that..."
"Too late," Wisty said with a grin, ignoring the pain in her leg as she stood, dusting herself off. She looked back at Mew, who was now hovering closer, its anger fully diminished.
Mew's eyes met Wisty's, and for the first time, it looked calm, almost apologetic. It floated down gently and nudged Wisty's hand with its head.
"There," Wisty said softly, petting Mew gently. "That's better, isn't it?"
As the tension in the air faded, Gary cleared his throat, still flustered. "Next time, you should warn us before you decide to 'handle' things like that."
Wisty turned to him, a playful grin on her face. "Oh, come on, Gary. Where's the fun in that?"
Ash groaned, still wiping mud off his jacket. "Fun for you maybe..."
Wisty winked at him. "You know you love it."
Pikachu let out a cheerful "Pika-pi!" as if to agree, and Mew floated peacefully beside Wisty, no longer the fierce force of nature they had been moments before.
As they all began to relax, Wisty leaned on Eevee for support, a mischievous twinkle in her eye. "Well, looks like I managed to save the day again. You boys can thank me later."
