Dinner with the Cerulean Sisters
As Ash and Misty stood in front of the Cerulean Gym, Ash shifted nervously. He scratched the back of his head, glancing at the large building. "You sure this is a good idea?" he asked, his voice a little uneasy. The last time he had been here, Misty's sisters were... a lot to handle.
Misty smiled confidently and nodded. "They're the only family I have left. Besides, I want to surprise them."
Ash blinked, looking confused. "With what?"
Misty's smile grew mischievous. "You'll see. Now, hold my hand and let me do all the talking."
Reluctantly, Ash grabbed her hand, feeling a bit nervous. "I hope this goes well," he muttered under his breath as they walked inside.
The moment they stepped in, Misty's three older sisters, Daisy, Violet, and Lily, were lounging by the pool, chatting loudly about the latest trends in Cerulean City. As soon as they spotted Misty, they lit up.
"Oh my gosh, like, Misty's back!" Violet exclaimed, rushing over. "And she brought theboy!"
Ash stiffened as Misty's sisters swarmed around them, their eyes scanning him up and down like he was some kind of exhibit. "So, this is your boyfriend?" Lily asked, raising an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed.
Misty, rolling her eyes at their usual judginess, stepped in front of Ash protectively. "Yes, this is Ash. And before you start with your nonsense, let me just remind you: I have a boyfriend. You don't. So, let him be!"
Daisy, always the most dramatic of the bunch, gasped, her hand flying to her mouth. "Oh, Misty, like, seriously, when did this happen? I thought you, like, only liked battling!"
Misty shot them a glare. "People can have more than one interest, you know. Ash is more than just a trainer, and he doesn't need to be judged by you." She squeezed Ash's hand, who gave her an appreciative look.
Ash, though a little flustered, tried to stand tall. "Uh, yeah... nice to meet you all again." He gave an awkward wave, hoping they wouldn't make this any harder.
Lily tilted her head. "Well, as long as he makes you happy, Misty."
Violet giggled. "Totally! But seriously, Ash, like, do you even know how to swim? Because, like, we could totally give you a lesson!"
Misty groaned, pulling Ash further away from the pool. "No lessons. We're just here for dinner."
Daisy smirked. "Fine, but we're, like, totally keeping an eye on him, Misty!"
Ash whispered to Misty as they made their way to the dining area, "This is gonna be a long night, isn't it?"
Misty gave him a sly grin. "Maybe. But don't worry - they'll get used to you eventually. Just let me handle it."
As dinner commenced, Ash sat quietly at the table, poking at his food while Misty tried to keep her sisters entertained. The atmosphere was lively, but he couldn't shake the feeling of being scrutinized under their watchful gazes.
Lily leaned in with a smirk, glancing between Misty and Ash. "Misty, if you're dating him, you might have to fatten him up a bit. He looks a little... undernourished."
Ash, catching her comment, shot her a glare. "I'm very fat right now, thank you very much!" He crossed his arms defensively, but his cheeks turned a slight shade of red.
Daisy laughed, shaking her head. "No, you're not! You're just, like, skinny! Misty, what have you been feeding him?" Her voice dripped with mock concern, and Ash felt his face heat up further.
"Yeah, it's like he hasn't eaten a proper meal in days!" Violet chimed in, giggling at Ash's expense. "Misty, you should definitely feed him more!"
Misty sighed, rolling her eyes at her sisters. "He's perfectly fine, thank you! Ash is a great trainer, not a food experiment!"
"But, like, if he needs to bulk up for battles, he should at least eat more," Lily teased, giving Ash a playful poke in the ribs. "Right, Ash? You need to pump those muscles!"
Ash laughed awkwardly, trying to deflect the attention. "I mean, I train a lot, and I eat plenty. It's just... you know, I'm not trying to gain weight or anything."
"Right, right," Daisy said, nodding her head exaggeratedly. "Just don't let Misty's cooking turn you into a giant marshmallow! You know she loves to bake, like, everything!"
Misty shot her sisters a glare. "You guys are ridiculous! Ash, just ignore them. They're just jealous because they can't find a boyfriend!"
"Hey!" the sisters chimed back in unison, laughing as they defended their single status.
Ash chuckled, relieved to see Misty stand up for him, but he still felt the weight of their playful banter. "I can handle it," he reassured Misty, flashing her a grin. "It's just dinner, right?"
"Yeah, just dinner," Misty said, her eyes sparkling with determination. "And they're just trying to get a rise out of you."
"Like, yeah, we totally are!" Violet agreed, leaning back in her chair with a smirk. "But seriously, Misty, if he doesn't start eating, we might have to put a 'Feed Ash' campaign into motion!"
Lily nodded dramatically. "With posters! And like, a whole Instagram account dedicated to getting him to eat!"
Ash groaned, burying his face in his hands as Misty tried to stifle her laughter. "Great, now I'm going to be famous for being the skinny trainer who can't eat."
"Fame comes in all forms, Ash!" Daisy said with a wink. "Just think of it as an opportunity to promote healthy eating!"
As dessert was served-a delightful assortment of cakes and pastries-Ash felt a wave of apprehension wash over him. He glanced at the desserts piled high on the table, each one looking more tempting than the last, but he shook his head resolutely.
"No, thank you. I'm really full," Ash insisted, trying to resist the urge to cave in to the sugary allure.
Lily, ever the provocateur, leaned forward with a mischievous glint in her eye. "Like, Misty, why in the world is your boyfriend not, like, eating? Is he on some weird diet or something?"
Misty shot Ash an apologetic glance, her cheeks flushing slightly. "He's not on a diet! He just-uh, he had a big lunch, right, Ash?"
"Yeah, exactly! A huge lunch," Ash quickly added, his voice slightly higher than usual as he tried to sound convincing.
Daisy chimed in, a teasing smile spreading across her face. "Right, or maybe he's just too busy training to actually enjoy food? Ash, don't tell me you're one of those trainers who forgets to eat."
"No, I just-I mean, I train a lot, but I also eat! I swear!" Ash defended himself, feeling a little overwhelmed by the barrage of questions.
Violet laughed, clearly enjoying the banter. "Maybe he's just too scared to eat Misty's cooking! I mean, what if she put some secret ingredient in it?"
Misty rolled her eyes dramatically. "Oh, please! Ash would love my cooking if he'd just try it. Right, Ash?"
"Yeah, totally! I'm just waiting for the right moment!" Ash replied, his laughter mixing with theirs, though he felt a bit sheepish about the whole thing.
"Right, right," Lily said, folding her arms with a smirk. "So you're just, like, saving room for a second round of dessert?"
Ash chuckled nervously, glancing at the delicious desserts again. "Maybe I'll just take a little bite," he relented, trying to keep the mood light as he reached for a slice of cake.
"Now that's the spirit!" Misty cheered, grinning at him as he took a small piece. "See? It's not so scary after all!"
As Ash took a bite, he was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. "Wow, this is actually really good!" he exclaimed, his eyes widening in delight.
Misty's sisters looked triumphant, and Misty couldn't help but beam with pride. "Told you so! Now you're officially part of the family. You just have to survive dessert!"
"Great, can't wait for round two," Ash said, rolling his eyes playfully, but he was genuinely grateful for the warmth and laughter filling the room.
