Ash vs. The urge to Help

Before we start the story, does anyone know where I can watch the episodes named arceus the one called a god episode 2?

I think you can on prime but I'm not so sure

Anyway

Also just so you know I don't usually write stores with Goh and Dawn

But today I am

I usually write about Brock and Misty and Ash

" Small world, huh Ash?" A familiar voice said from behind them.

Goh, Ash, and Dawn turned, to see a guy with spiky brown hair wearing blue scrubs and a white coat.

" How do you know Ash?" Goh asked.

Ash cleared his throat, and nudged Goh. " Dawn, Goh, meet my... Other traveling family member. Brock, this is Goh and Dawn."

" Nice to meet you." Brock said as he nodded.

Suddenly, the lights flickered. Ash and the others looked up.

" What was that?" Ash asked as he took a step back, but Brock was quick to put a hand on his shoulder. " Oh, no you don't Ash."

Ash groaned. " Come on, Brock! I did it three times!"

" Yeah, and almost got killed the third!"

The other two were staring at one another. " Uh.... Do what?" Dawn asked.

Brock turned towards the other two and, with a hand on Ash's shoulder, said, " Three months ago, when we traveled together, there was this one Pokemon Center that ran out of power, then AC, then the wires were cut."

" Okay but what does that have to do with Ash?" Goh asked.

" Yeah, Brock!" Ash muttered.

Brock crossed his arms, giving Ash a knowing look. “It has everything to do with Ash because he thought he could play electrician and fix it all himself,” Brock explained, his voice tinged with a mix of exasperation and amusement. “He didn’t exactly do it safely either.”

Goh blinked in surprise. “Wait, Ash... you tried to fix a power outage yourself?”

Ash scratched the back of his head awkwardly. “I mean… someone had to do it, right? The Pokémon Center needed the power back on. It was for the Pokémon!”

Dawn gasped. “Ash, that’s dangerous! You could’ve gotten seriously hurt!”

Brock nodded, clearly backing Dawn up. “He almost did get seriously hurt. The third time he tried to fix it, he got zapped pretty bad. It’s a miracle he didn’t fry himself.”

Ash waved them off with a laugh, though there was a hint of nervousness in his voice. “Come on, I’m fine! You know me, I’ve survived worse.”

Brock sighed, squeezing Ash’s shoulder a little. “You’ve got a habit of getting yourself into trouble, that’s for sure. But this? This was reckless, even for you.”

Goh looked between them, still processing. “So, you’re telling me that Ash was trying to fix electrical wires? Without any experience? And it actually worked... twice?”

Brock shook his head. “Yeah, but by the third time, he was too worn out to finish the job. I had to drag him out of the attic myself.”

Ash muttered under his breath. “I was fine…”

“You weren’t fine,” Brock corrected sternly. “You were lucky. There’s a difference.”

Dawn sighed in relief but still couldn’t help giving Ash a stern look. “Ash, promise us you won’t do something like that again.”

Ash grinned sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck. “Okay, okay, I promise. No more fixing electrical systems without help.”

Pikachu, standing by Ash’s side, gave an approving “Pika!” as if to seal the promise.

Brock chuckled, finally relaxing. “Good. Now, let’s make sure there aren’t any more flickering lights around here before Ash gets any more ideas.”

Ash shrugged, still smiling. “Hey, at least I kept the Pokémon Center running, right?”

Brock shook his head, a smirk forming on his lips. “Yeah, at your own expense. Let’s just hope we don’t have a repeat of that anytime soon.”

As they all began to walk away together, Goh whispered to Dawn, “I guess traveling with Ash really is full of surprises.”

Dawn giggled. “You have no idea.”

Suddenly, the power went out.

Goh groaned. " Great. The powers out. It's night. We don't have any way of seeing anything!"

Dawn put a hand on his shoulder. " It'll be fine. We'll work something out."

Ash suddenly looked nervous. " I.... Have to use the restroom."

Goh nodded him off, and Ash ran as fast as he could.

Meanwhile, Brock was making sure all the Pokemon were okay, reassuring a few and adjusting others.

Dawn and Goh ran to Brock. " Need help?" Dawn asked.

Brock barely looked up. " Yeah, sure. Tell Ash to take care of the electric Pokemon, Goh does forest and Dawn does birds."

" But ash went to the bathroom." Dawn pointed out.

Brock looked up. " What??"

Suddenly, the power flickered. Brock's eyes widened.

" He didn't go to the bathroom! He went to the attic!"

Goh shook his head in disbelief. "He couldn't have. He wouldn't—"

But as another flicker of light illuminated the hallway, followed by a brief surge of electricity, Goh groaned. "He did."

Dawn gasped. "Oh no, not again! Why does he keep doing this?"

Without another word, the three of them sprinted toward the attic. The moment they reached the door, they could hear the telltale sound of sparks flying, the faint crackle of electricity echoing through the walls.

Brock pushed open the attic door, revealing a sight that made his heart race. Ash was standing near the exposed wires, tools in hand, looking focused and determined. The entire area was lit up by the occasional bursts of sparks as Ash carefully connected wires, trying to get the power running again.

"Ash!" Brock called out, his voice filled with both panic and frustration. "What are you doing?"

Ash glanced over his shoulder, looking frazzled but otherwise unharmed. "I’m... fixing the power! I’ve almost got it. Just one more—"

A loud spark erupted from the wires, causing everyone to flinch. Ash, however, stayed steady, his brow furrowing as he made one final connection. The lights throughout the building flickered, then surged back to life with a steady glow.

"There! Got it!" Ash grinned triumphantly, wiping some sweat off his forehead. "See? Told you I could—"

But before he could finish, Brock stormed over, knelt down and grabbed him by the shoulders. "Ash, this is insane! Do you have any idea how dangerous this is? You could've been electrocuted!"

Ash looked a little sheepish but kept his resolve. "But I had to do something. The Pokémon Center needed power. I couldn’t just let them sit in the dark all night!"

Goh, catching his breath, muttered, "I can’t believe he actually did it."

Dawn shook her head. "Ash, you’re unbelievable. You just jump into danger without thinking about yourself!"

Ash chuckled, rubbing the back of his head. "Well, yeah, but the Pokémon—"

Brock sighed heavily, his grip loosening as his frustration gave way to relief. "We get it. You did it for the Pokémon. But next time, tell us first, okay? We can help."

Ash nodded, still grinning. "Deal. But hey, at least the lights are back on!"

Pikachu hopped onto Ash’s shoulder and gave a proud “Pika!” as if to show support.

Dawn crossed her arms, a smile tugging at her lips. "Honestly, Ash, you’ve got more lives than a Meowth."

Goh laughed, still shaking his head in disbelief. "He’s got more courage than sense, that’s for sure."

Ash shrugged. "I’m just doing what needs to be done."

Brock put a hand on Ash’s shoulder, giving him a more serious look. "Just promise us you won’t go running off alone next time, alright? We’re a team. We face things together."

Ash smiled and nodded. "Alright, Brock. I promise."

As they all left the attic together, with the lights now fully restored, Goh muttered under his breath, "I’m never going to get used to this."

Dawn giggled. "Welcome to traveling with Ash Ketchum."

In the dead of night, faint thumping noises echoed through the Pokémon Center. Goh shot up from his bed, his heart racing. He quickly ran out of his room, headed straight for Brock's.

"Brock, is Ash with you?" Goh asked breathlessly as he barged into the room.

Brock sat up, rubbing his eyes. "No... why?"

Goh groaned, glancing toward the window where the thumping grew louder. "You’ve got to be kidding me. Come on!"

Brock's eyes widened as he realized what was happening. "Oh no. I knew it wasn’t a good idea to mention the leak in the roof."

Without another word, the two ran outside, following the sound until they reached the side of the building. They looked up to find the one and only Ash Ketchum, perched on the roof with a toolkit in hand, hammering away under the dim moonlight.

"Ash!" Brock yelled up at him, exasperation in his voice. "What are you doing up there?!"

Ash paused mid-swing, looking down at them with a sheepish grin. "Uh... fixing the roof! I figured, since the lights were back on, I could take care of the leak too."

Goh slapped his forehead. "Of course you are."

Brock shook his head, crossing his arms. "Ash, it’s the middle of the night! You’re supposed to be resting."

Ash gave a small shrug. "Yeah, but if it rains, the Pokémon could get wet. I couldn’t just leave it, you know?"

Brock groaned. "You didn’t have to do it now, Ash! You need sleep!"

Ash hammered one last nail before finally climbing down, looking proud of himself. "But it's fixed now, so it’s all good, right?"

Pikachu, who had been sitting on the roof beside Ash, gave a quick "Pika!" in agreement.

Goh shook his head, trying not to laugh. "I don’t know how you do it, Ash. You never stop."

Brock, although frustrated, couldn’t help but smile. "You’re going to wear yourself out one of these days, Ash."

Ash grinned, patting Pikachu on the head. "Nah, I’m fine. Just doing what needs to be done."

He jumped from the roof, and turned, catching his pokemon.

Brock sighed, ruffling Ash’s hair. "Well, next time, let us help. You don’t have to fix everything alone."

Ash nodded. "Alright, alright. I’ll ask for help next time."

As they all headed back inside, Goh muttered, "Something tells me there’s always going to be a 'next time' with Ash."

Brock chuckled. "You have no idea."

"So, how do you like being the Gym Leader again, Misty?"

Misty’s voice sounded cheerful, but there was a hint of longing. "I like it, but honestly, I miss you guys. It’s not the same without the adventure."

Brock smiled. "Then join us again! The team wouldn’t be the same without you."

Misty laughed. "I will! But how’s Ash doing? Still getting into trouble?"

Before Brock could answer, Nurse Joy burst into the room, looking flustered. "Brock! Where’s Ash?"

Brock frowned, holding his hand over the phone. "He said he had to run some errands earlier. Why? What’s going on?"

Joy sighed in frustration. "I just realized that the clips Ash used to fix the center last night are missing. I was doing inventory, and they’re all gone. I’m worried he might be trying to fix something else."

Brock's face fell. "Oh no... Please tell me you didn’t mention my broken flying car?"

Joy blinked, shaking her head. "No, I didn’t have to. He must have found out on his own!"

Brock groaned, quickly turning back to the phone. "Misty, I’ve got to go. It looks like Ash is at it again. He might be trying to fix my flying car now."

Misty chuckled, though her voice was filled with concern. "Of course he is. Be careful, Brock. He’s always going to push himself too far."

Brock nodded. "I know. We’ll catch up soon, Misty."

As soon as the call ended, Brock grabbed his bag and turned to Joy. "Let’s find him before he gets himself into another mess."

They hurried out of the Pokémon Center, knowing that wherever Ash was, there was sure to be sparks flying—literally and figuratively.

Brock and Nurse Joy rushed outside, and sure enough, they found Ash lying under the broken flying car, tools scattered around him. Pikachu was sitting nearby, ready to help.

"Okay, Pikachu," Ash said from beneath the car, his voice slightly muffled. "Thunder Shock the engine. It's the silver box, remember?"

Pikachu nodded and, without hesitation, sent a jolt of electricity into the car’s engine.

However, Pikachu’s Thunder Shock was a bit too strong. Sparks flew, and the car began to rumble dangerously.

"PIKACHU, THAT'S ENOUGH!" Ash yelled, quickly scooting out from under the car as more sparks flew around them.

Brock ran up, eyes wide. "Ash! What are you doing?! You can’t fix the car like this!"

Ash, still holding a wrench, gave Brock a sheepish grin. "Well, I figured it was already broken, so why not give it a shot?"

Nurse Joy sighed, rubbing her temples. "Ash, you’re going to give us all heart attacks. You should leave the car repairs to a mechanic."

Ash shrugged. "I just didn’t want you guys to be stuck without it. Besides, I’ve fixed worse things!"

Brock crossed his arms, his stern expression softening a little. "Yeah, and almost electrocuted yourself in the process. Next time, ask for help. You don’t have to do everything alone."

Pikachu, looking guilty, hopped onto Ash’s shoulder, offering a small "Pika..." in apology.

Ash scratched Pikachu’s head. "Yeah, yeah. We both overdid it."

Brock couldn’t help but smile a bit. "Come on, let’s get this cleaned up before you fry anything else."

Ash sighed but nodded, grateful he hadn’t caused more damage. As they all worked to gather the tools, Ash shot Pikachu a playful look. "Remind me next time to read the manual before I tell you to zap something, buddy."

As evening fell, Nurse Joy and Brock were starting to get concerned. Ash was nowhere to be found, and the Pokémon Center's power was still off. They checked all the usual places, but there was no sign of him.

Suddenly, Brock noticed something. "Wait a minute... the entire town's power is out, not just the Center!" he said, realization dawning on him. "If Ash isn't here and all his Pokémon are, then..."

Nurse Joy gasped. "That means Ash is out there by himself!"

Without wasting another second, Brock, Nurse Joy, and Pikachu bolted outside, racing towards the town's power station. As they got closer, they could see a shower of sparks flying from the building. A small figure was perched up high, wiping his forehead before continuing to tinker with something on the rooftop.

Brock's jaw dropped. "How did he get up there?!"

Sure enough, it was Ash, balancing precariously on the edge of the power station’s roof, working on the wires like he had done countless times before. Pikachu, eyes wide with concern, let out a worried "Pika-pi!" and darted ahead.

"ASH!" Brock shouted, waving his arms. "What are you doing up there?!"

Ash turned his head and flashed his usual grin, despite the dangerous situation. "Hey, Brock! I’m almost done! Just fixing a couple more connections, and the power should be back on in no time!"

Brock facepalmed. "You’re going to get yourself killed one of these days!"

Ash, undeterred, finished connecting the last set of wires. Suddenly, the power came surging back on, lighting up the entire town with a loud hum as the electricity flowed through the grid once more.

Ash dusted off his hands and wiped the sweat from his forehead. "See? Told you I could fix it!"

Nurse Joy, her heart still racing, shouted up at him. "Ash, you can't just keep throwing yourself into these situations! That was incredibly dangerous!"

Ash slid down the ladder, his feet hitting the ground with a thud. "I know, but I couldn’t just sit around doing nothing when the whole town was out of power. Everyone needs electricity, especially the Pokémon at the Center."

Brock sighed, exasperated but also proud. "You're impossible, you know that?"

Ash laughed, rubbing the back of his head. "Maybe a little. But at least the power's back on, right?"

Nurse Joy shook her head, trying to stifle a smile. "You're something else, Ash. Just... please, no more dangerous stunts tonight."

Ash nodded, grinning as he looked at Pikachu. "Alright, I’ll take it easy for the rest of the night. Promise."

Ash gasped in pain as he dunked water on it.

" Let's hope no one finds out." He muttered.

He looked around, and found nothing.

He sighed. " Okay, okay. Uh..... You know, why don't I just leave it be?"

He turned to go, and behind him was a tall figure. Brown hair, wearing doctor scrubs and a coat.

And his arms were crossed.

Ash yelped, then froze, gripping his side where he had taken the injury. He thought he was alone in the forest, far away from anyone who would notice his absence. The last thing he expected was to turn around and see Brock standing there, arms crossed, wearing his usual doctor coat.

Brock’s face was a mix of concern and frustration. "Ash, what are you doing out here? You’ve been gone for hours, and everyone’s been looking for you."

Ash took a step back, wincing as pain shot through his side. "I—I’m fine, Brock. I was just… uh… getting some fresh air!" He forced a smile, trying to play it cool, but it was clear from the way he was standing that something was wrong.

Brock raised an eyebrow, stepping closer. "Don’t lie to me, Ash. You’re hurt, aren’t you?"

Ash’s eyes widened, and he instinctively moved to cover his injury, but it was too late. Brock could see the faint bloodstain on Ash’s shirt, and his eyes narrowed in on it. "Ash!" Brock shouted, rushing over. "What happened?"

Ash tried to brush it off, waving a hand dismissively. "It’s no big deal, Brock. I can handle it."

Brock was having none of it. "No big deal? Ash, you’re bleeding! Why didn’t you say something?"

Ash winced again as he took a breath, his bravado starting to fade. "I didn’t want to worry you. I thought I could fix it myself and then come back… besides, you were already stressed with everything at the Pokémon Center."

Brock shook his head, kneeling down beside Ash and carefully pulling his hand away from the wound. "Ash, that’s not how this works. You can’t just ignore something like this. Come on, let me take a look."

Ash flinched but nodded, knowing there was no getting out of this one. Brock gently lifted Ash’s shirt, revealing a gash that was worse than Ash had let on. "This is going to need stitches," Brock muttered, his voice calm but firm. "You should’ve told me earlier, Ash."

Ash sighed, finally admitting defeat. "I didn’t want to be a burden, Brock."

Brock looked at him, his expression softening. "You’re never a burden, Ash. You’re my friend. I’m always going to help you, no matter what." He pulled out his medical kit, which he always seemed to have on him, and started to clean the wound.

Ash winced at the sting of the disinfectant but didn’t say anything. "Thanks, Brock."

"Just don’t run off like that again, okay?" Brock said, his tone serious but caring. "We all worry about you, Ash."

Ash nodded, looking a little sheepish. "Yeah, okay. I won’t."

Once Brock had finished patching Ash up as best he could, he helped him to his feet. "Let’s get back to the Center. Everyone’s probably freaking out."

Ash chuckled, leaning on Brock for support. "Yeah, I guess I owe them an explanation."

As they made their way back through the forest, Ash glanced up at Brock. "How did you even find me out here?"

Brock smiled. "I know you better than you think, Ash. Plus, Pikachu led me in the right direction."

"Pika!" Pikachu chirped, suddenly hopping out from behind a bush and running up to Ash’s side.

Ash smiled, scratching Pikachu behind the ears. "Of course, it was you, buddy."

As they finally approached the Pokémon Center, Ash could see Dawn, Goh, and Nurse Joy waiting anxiously outside. When they spotted him, they ran over, their faces a mix of relief and exasperation.

"Ash!" Dawn yelled. "Where were you?"

Goh shook his head. "You can’t just disappear like that!"

Ash smiled sheepishly, glancing over at Brock. "Long story... but I’m okay now."

Brock glared at him.

And ash gave him a look.

A very very very firm look.

One that said, ' shut up and go along.'

Brock narrowed his eyes at Ash, clearly torn between scolding him and going along with the unspoken request. Ash held his gaze firmly, his expression practically daring Brock to say something in front of everyone.

For a moment, there was silence.

Then, with a deep sigh, Brock relented. "Yeah… he’s fine now," he said, his tone betraying just a hint of frustration. "But next time, don’t pull a stunt like that, okay?"

Ash grinned, relief washing over him. "Promise. No more running off." He turned to the others, giving them a thumbs-up. "See? All good."

Dawn crossed her arms, looking skeptical. "You sure? You look like you’ve been through a battle."

Goh nodded in agreement. "Seriously, Ash, we thought something happened to you."

Ash rubbed the back of his neck, trying to downplay it. "I just needed to clear my head, that’s all. Didn’t mean to make you all worry."

Pikachu looked up at him with concern. "Pika pika…"

Ash gave Pikachu a reassuring pat. "It’s okay, buddy. Everything’s fine now."

Nurse Joy approached with a gentle but firm expression. "Ash, you should rest. We can take care of things here. You don’t have to do everything yourself."

Ash sighed, looking a bit defeated. "Yeah, yeah, I know." He glanced back at Brock, giving him a knowing look as if to say,
thanks for not ratting me out.

Brock shook his head slightly but smirked. "Let’s just get you inside before you decide to 'fix' something else, okay?"

Ash chuckled, finally allowing himself to lean on Brock as they headed back into the center.

Inside, Brock led Ash away, calling, " me and Ash need to talk about something."

" Really Brock?" Ash muttered.

Brock sighed. " Yes, Ash."

He led him a room, and  crossed his arms, giving Ash a stern look. "Sit down, Ash. Now."

Ash groaned in frustration but complied, sitting down on the edge of the bed. "Brock, I told you, I'm fine! You don't have to do this every time."

Brock sighed, rubbing his temples. "Ash, you say you're fine every time, and every time you end up pushing yourself too hard. You think I didn’t notice you running off to fix the power and then disappearing into the forest? You were injured, Ash! You can’t keep doing this."

Ash averted his eyes, his defiant expression faltering for a moment. "I didn't want anyone to worry... I can handle it."

"Handle it?" Brock’s voice was sharp. "Ash, you were in no condition to be running around, and you know it. You’re not invincible. What if something worse happened out there, and we couldn’t find you?"

Ash clenched his fists, his voice rising slightly. "But I fixed it, didn’t I? The center’s power is back. Everyone’s okay. That’s what matters."

Brock shook his head. "No, what matters is you, Ash. You’ve got to stop thinking you have to do everything by yourself. We're a team, remember? We care about you, not just about what you can do."

Ash’s shoulders slumped, his stubbornness giving way to exhaustion. "I know... but I didn’t want to slow anyone down."

Brock softened, placing a hand on Ash’s shoulder. "You never slow us down, Ash. We’re always going to have your back, but you need to let us. You don’t have to carry everything on your own."

Ash sighed heavily, the tension in his posture easing. "Yeah... maybe you're right."

Brock smirked slightly, shaking his head. "Maybe? I am right. Now, you’re going to rest, and let us take care of things for a while. Deal?"

Ash gave a small, reluctant smile. "Alright, alright. Deal."

Brock smiled, satisfied. "Good. Now, take it easy for once. You deserve it."

When Ash woke up, he blinked a few times, trying to adjust to the light. He was startled to find Misty, with her familiar orange hair, staring down at him with a smirk.

“M-Misty?!” Ash exclaimed, sitting up quickly. Without thinking, they both leaned in for a hug.

"Long time no see, huh?" Misty laughed as they pulled away.

Ash, still surprised, grinned widely. "What are you doing here? I thought you were busy with the Cerulean Gym."

Misty shrugged and gave him a playful smile. "I decided being a Gym Leader wasn’t for me. I missed traveling and... well, I missed you guys. Brock invited me back, so here I am."

Ash’s grin widened. "Really? You’re coming back to travel with us?"

Misty nodded. "Yeah, I realized life at the gym was a little too predictable for my liking. Plus, someone has to keep an eye on you. Heard you’ve been getting yourself into all kinds of trouble again."

Ash laughed nervously, scratching the back of his head. "I guess you heard about that, huh?"

Misty crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow. "Fixing power outages, running into the forest injured, and probably getting zapped by Pikachu a few times—sounds like the same old Ash."

Ash chuckled, shrugging. "Yeah, I guess some things never change."

Misty smiled warmly. "Well, it's good to be back, Ash. And don't worry—I'll be here to help keep you out of trouble... or at least try to."

Ash smiled back, feeling more at ease with Misty back by his side. "I'm glad you're here, Misty. I’ve missed you."
